Like all Anet pvp the maps are too small.

People even zerg in spvp (8v8 and 10v10) because it is most profitable. Compare the conquest mode of the spvp and then go play LOL (dominion). Its the same thing, but because of the spread of the map and number of people on it, it is difficult to zerg. And 100x more fun.

In Daoc roaming teams were legendary. The maps were very large and unless you were taking a fort zerging was very difficult.

They could limit the number of people on the map. Open more maps.

Or they could redesign the maps so they are bigger. Push all the major objectives to the corners. Remove waypoint building in side keeps.

Another idea would be to force teams to hold 2 points simultaneously… Say I wanted to take a major keep like Hills. My team might need to hold 2 other towers at the same time or the gates wouldn’t weaken. Defensive players may need to hold a tower or they can not get inside.

I reject all calls to strengthen AOE. If it was strengthened it would come down to 2 sides standing across from each other spamming AOE. At least the current meta requires the coordination of mele and ranged to run an effective hammer train.

You won’t notice a big difference either way.

I use the celestial trinkets for the crit damage and healing power. Your dodge heals will be the most noticable thing.

Yes, so the only actual improvement in GW2 is the persistent world, and even that is still somewhat instanced as you can only get from one zone to another through portals. (See WoW for how to do it right.) The only other advantage I can think of for GW2 is the AH – and that’s also not nearly as good as in many other MMOs. Everything else in GW2 is worse or at least no better than GW1. That’s just… sad.

Yes I really think they made a colossal mistake in leaving out the best parts of the original game: the skill depth & variety, the amount of build choice through secondary classes, skill capping, elite skills, mobs using player skills with decent AI.

As with any software product, the bits you replace have to be better than the bits you’re replacing, and in GW2, they aren’t.

The game reeks of shallowness. On the surface it has so much potential, but its just shallow. I agree with everything in the Reddit post.

Really?

They designed the game. They built the engine. They built the hardware and server system. Recently, they added extra layers of calculations for the servers to handle (party preference for buffs, achievements and bloodlust). They added achievements that have flooded the servers with pve’ers. They added leagues 8 months too late.

It’s pretty much Anets fault. Their lack of response so far is pretty pathetic.

Your job in high tier wvw is to stay alive. Healway and AH builds provide that.

Good players will simply find counters to your hybrid builds if you try to roam.

So you can belittle the builds people run, but they work.

In short our builds are really limited by our small health pool. Staying alive is often a struggle in many situations. Same story for Ele.

I think there are some amazing ideas in the collaborative page. I hope the devs take notice.

I guess the meta could shift to overpower ranged classes and you end up with a whole bunch of people just standing lamely across from each other spamming spells like in other games – Rift would be a classic example of this terribad gameplay.

The 0/15/30/20/5 is a pretty classic build and can be changed up through gear to suit most tasks.

I am not sure about the guy dissing dps guardians. It certainly helps to learn the class by playimg beserker guardian in spvp… I can probably beat 2/3 thieves as they underestimate your damage. I haven’t had as much experience on one in WvW, generally I go as tanky as possible.

Hey people,
for few weeks Anet was telling you that moving to T1 is not good idea.
They also made some free transfers so you can move from overpopulated servers.
Nobody cared about it that time.

And it is not Anet fault. I dont see people from Bronze league whining about queues. Rarely i see people from silver league. And there are servers you moved from.
There was queue before start of the leagues. You count count with queues after start of the league, but you still moved there or stayed there. It is not Anet fault.

ps: i am not Anet fanboy, i rarely agree with them, but this is just true. We in bronze are laughting about queues in T1 and about your whining

I’ve been on Jade Quarry since this game opened and I’ve had queues before, no doubt. But these queues are longer, and less likely to let you into WvW than I’ve ever experienced. So I’m on a Tier 1 server, I deserve what I get? That’s the way you behave while expecting others to have sympathy for your supposed plight of getting facerolled each time your 4 man guild steps out of spawn?

Go on and keep laughing. We don’t mind. Stay jealous of the fact that other servers might have wait times….but we also have fights. Not just tumbleweeds blowing across the sad, dusty, deserted borderlands like you so self-righteous Tier-Who-Cares, No-One-Pays-You-Any-Attention servers.

You can’t have fights if you’re in a queue…

Been running 0/0/30/30/5/5 with beserker jewels and runes of speed. Been having a lot of fun on this build.

Ascended is also rather easy to acquire. Sure it takes time, but it is still easy.
Getting Exotic at release took quite some time as well

13 days for a full set at launch if i recall.

Took me a couple of weeks too. Which seemed to be the norm. And another month or more to purchase all the weapons.

In terms of MMOs it is. If you see it from your lawyer standpoint of course, it is different.

But in terms of MMOs it means that you start out with a product and the product at one point goes into a totally different direction, like from horizontal to vertical progression.

You have been tricked to buy a product, that becomes something different than you were expecting.

Its about integrity.

Anet lost their way somewhere. They said they would make a new revolutionary game based on horizontal progression. They never delivered.

Now their forums are full of angry customers… and Vayne.

Its sad because if they had just improved on their first game but kept to its principles or even kept to the manifesto, I think we’d all be playing a totally awesome product.

Seeing as how even lower tier servers are experiencing the same problems, it seems to not be a T1 issue, but a game issue.

The achievements have brought in more people than the game can handle. Skill lag is unbelievable. A symbol of swiftness casted on the opposite side of a non-queued BG took 4 casts. huh?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? How can you play like that?

I would suggest holding off/suspending them till the first round of leagues are over or the first of the year.

Well, I know my tier has no problems. I honestly haven’t heard much problems from even tier 2 either. Honestly, it does seem like almost all the posters complaining (like you) are tier 1.

That is not the case. People on lower tier servers are experiencing the same issues. All you have to do is read. Just because it is not happening to you does not mean its not happening or that it is not bad.

Fair enough.

A calm and friendly commander is a invaluable asset, especially these days. However, he can only be successful, if the people around him follow his orders and try to play as a team. So it still seems that your pve players are decent bunch of people who contribute enough to the success of your server, don’t you think?

Seriously? Still asking for warrior nerfs? Currently, they aren’t much more powerful than they were pre buffs. Originally skull crack was put up to 3 seconds from 2, but because of sigil was at 4, but pre buff it was at 3 seconds. Now, sigil has been fixed and skull crack is 3.45 seconds and shield slam is nearly half the time it was pre sigil fix. You said the stuns were the problem, now you want more and more nerfs. Warrior is fine.

Someone commented that Warriors are weak vs conditions. That is not the case at all. Either you do not play warrior or you are incredibly ignorant. They have the most Accessable condition removal in the game. With one tactic every 8 sec or so you clear off 3 conditions by using your Adrenaline ability. O.o So you do uber damage and clear off conditions at the same time. Its win/win.

You forgot to mention that for most of those abilities you actually have to hit your target to get the effect. Only one that you don’t have to as far as I know is LB F1. Also, you aren’t always going to have adrenaline when you want it. You people that think warrior magically always has full adrenaline are funny.

As I said every 8 sec. If you have Stability up, in a WvW environment, Earthshaker will hit something. If you go with ANY adrenaline building trait you will have your adrenaline long before your CD comes up. And if for some reason your so handicapped you can’t get your Earthshaker, a massive green circle, to hit something in a zerg, swap weapons, the adrenaline is not wasted. O.o

You really have to have some perspective on how much harder it is for any other class to remove conditions. Warrior has it the easiest and they do it while they are dishing out damage. Most other classes have to slot something non-offensive. They actually lose out offense for defensive benefit. Doh!?! Who would think of something as crazy as that?

Closest to an all rounder I can think of. We are not quite like Warrior, everything comes at a bit of a cost. But I come back to this build all the time.

Get a 2nd set of armor. Knights with Ruby Orbs for dps and dungeons. Consider Travellers or Speed Runes for roaming in WvW.

Can use with any weapons you like. 1 handers or hammer.

Can swap in the Meditation Traits or AH.

edit: usually if I run AH and shouts I use Superior Aura, usually if I run Meds I use Larger Symbols

Everything is breaking. LA lagging, I was spvping that started lagging. My entire guild roster disappeared for me and everybody from votf online.

Anet has the best servers ever.

I have noticed some strange lag in SPVP and LA as well. But nothing like WvW.

You say this like it’s some major revelation….
Anyone here the least bit familiar with the first game’s GVG??

(hint… it was basically 4 warriors and some monks versus 4 other warriors)

My big issue is that Warriors can do every role in the game where a lot of classes are pigeon holed. And instead of looking to improve those classes, they continue to waste the bulk of their very limited programming to give them more and more roles within the game. If Warriors are awesome. So what? Lets just make all the other classes to have 3-4 strong roles/builds that are close. The other classes need more work at this time.

This thread isn’t about whether or not Jade Quarry gets an easy win. It’s about the overtime that Blackgate and Sanctum of Rall have to put in to stand a chance. Blackgate is weak during Oceanic, so members of our NA guilds are staying up late to give their support. Our SEA also needs support, so our Oceanics are doing overtime. Then we have to deal with the EU, so NA guilds are getting up early. The fact is that people want their efforts to go towards something, and putting in all these extra hours is useless is Jade Quarry only needs to play overtime for 3 or 4 weeks compared to Blackgate and Sanctum of Rall who only get one week where we don’t need overtime. It’s physically draining and commanders and players alike are going to burn out with all this pressure. People want to win, its the first league, and we want a fair chance.

This nothing! Let them burn out. Maybe they’ll transfer down and help normalize the rest of the WvW population (unless JQ buys them first.)

There was no queue when I was on. Roaming with my friends. Game was virtually unplayable. Couldn’t stomp people. Different WvW timers even between people. Total JOke.

Ascended… the extra damage on the weapon is noticable… not gamebreaking but noticable.

I offerred what is a reasonable suggestion earlier. Rng 5-15 ore each take of a major keep. It would still be massively slower than turning up for 5 minutes of a temple take to get 30.

How charming of you for totally discounting BG which IMO has been the least arrogant and least hypocritical on this thread.

As an SOR player, I fully expect to split those match ups with BG. Which means JQ will pull out in front. Not sure how that’s arrogance.

People are mad because they are going to have to wait another 3-4 months for any fixes and there is little guarantee anything worthwhile will be changed then. Nothing worthwhile was changed this time and oddly the class with the most builds/roles was given the most development time. While other pigeon holed or ineffective classes got nothing. Its like being at a restaurant where someone is getting great service and the rest of the tables are sitting there hungry.

Right. Nerfing burning’s would nerf condition builds. It’s also unnecessary at this point.

You’re exaggerating the effect warriors have on condition necromancers in the meta. A balanced comp can use a condition necromancer really well by countering the warrior through other means. (I would also say that most of the teams with necromancers in today’s tournaments played poorly, whether they were using a power or condition build.)

Meta warriors are pretty much everything necromancers hate.
High stability uptime, huge health pool, condition immunity, crazy condition cleansing through cleansing ire and massive amounts of CCs. As a Necromancer, there is no way to counter warriors at all, unless the warrior is really bad.

You are proving again that you haven’t read the topic. I’m asking to remove the permanent burning uptime through passive traits in favour of avoidable non-permanent telegraphed skills, like Throw Torch.

I have to agree with sorrow, the addition of burning as passive extra damage is very strong.

@Radjan I think if we beat Warrior at support its only by a small margin. Their shouts heal for quite a bit and their offensive support is best in the game.

Most people are raging about the meta. Conditions are OP yet our ‘fix’ weakened our role in group.

The problem is the class has become boring as kitten, through dev inactivity, while the warrior continues to be worked on and developed. Meanwhile they are best or 2nd best at everything in the game.

For instance, Burning on Guardian, Elementalist and Warrior is well placed.
Burning on Engineer, Necromancer or Ranger is too strong.

I don’t think you understand. Many of us on TC, SoS and Mag, look forward to the fights and the endless blob busting action. Who cares what server wins. I’m very much looking forward to always be paired with a t1 server.

Its odd. I’ve never seen these servers win a single fight that wasn’t at least 2 to 1 in their favor. And they usually lose most of those. The bust a blob is pretty funny.

More on topic: the schedule really favours JQ.

The rewards included in season 1 achievements should help to address this. Very specifically the ascended crafting materials. It is also the case, that we want people playing all the parts of the game, so there are always going to be optimal ways to get specific rewards and those may not always include WvW. We are building the whole of GW2 and we try and balance things across all the game types.

We will continue to make strides, however, to make WvW feel more rewarding, especially in this type of area.

I really think you could give out more Dragonite for capturing the major keeps. Random 5-15 would make things a bit more balanced.

What they do talk about however is MANDATORY grind. This does not exist in GW2.
You don’t NEED to grind anything in order to do any content in the game.

You NEED to grind to be competative in WvW. The power gap is gradually increasing from a couple % to 20 or 30 when armor is released.
