Policy on Third-Party Programs Coming Soon
in Account & Technical Support

The easiest way is to look at it like this. Third party apps are not allowed. However, keyboards and mice are. But with keyboards and mice, one button click = one action. If you clicking on one button has your character or the game performing more than one action, then it is not allowed.
Have you tried leaving it for a few mins? Or shutting the game and patcher down completely, then rebooting it, instead of using the log out option ingame?
So they were baffled that they couldnt work out what was wrong? Why didnt they just lock the account and give you a new one?
Ok. Before he thinks about getting the account back, he must find out how they got access to the account originally. If he doesnt, then theres no point getting the account back as they will just get straight back in.
Onc ehe has found out how they got in and fixed the point of entry, then he can submit a support ticket and get his account back.
Most events are random or triggered by other means. Hence the name “DYNAMIC events”. These events mean that players have to do something in order to trigger them.
Have you submitted a support ticket, so the reps can move your character manually?

If you were on a public network/cyber cafe etc, you wouldnt get the same IP, due to the proxy server being used amongst other things.
It’s just poor coding on Anets part. There is absolutely no excuse not to allow people to alter the settings. At all.
Guildhead for gear, skills and everything else.
1) performance suffers greatly because of how things are built and view distances
Please dont tell me a senior developer actually said this. This is CLIENT side performance. Not serverside. If it is indeed serverside, then the engine itself really should be overhauled.
Guildhead. Bar none.
1. There is a big difference between the odd player doing it and giving every player the tools to do it. They have stated that it puts a strain on the server for each player each client renders. One person with 3 monitors.. not a big deal. A million players with higher FoV and well.. you get the idea.
Uuuuugggghhh…. please stop talking, you’re embarrassing yourself.
I find myself agreeing with this guy right here. If a dev did come out and say that, ( and im sure they didnt), they should be fired on the spot and without question.
Offpeak means the times not many people will be playing. So if the server time is US east coast, then late afternoon/all evening, the server will be full. Early/mid morning US east time, it will not be full, so it will be offpeak.
Server transfers do not cost anything.
Also, try waiting till offpeak times. Servers are rarely classed as full then.
From reading the info in this thread it seems like people are getting FOV and camera distance mixed up. What people want isnt a FOV increase ( which would give a “fisheye” effect, but a distance slider, which would hardly cause performance issues or art issues, unless the engine itself was coded very inefficiently.

Send in a ticket to the address that was in the email you got.
Known website bug.
Hardcore status in mmo’s is a waste of development time. Especially in a PVE centric game. Multiple MMO’s have shown that despite people saying “oh thousands of players will roll there”, it rarely ever happens, and since there is no sub in this game, the cost to pretty much recode the game cant be justified.
Looks like it’s a bug and they’re working on it as theyve had a lot of complaints.
To add to alfista’s post, we dont really know much more. The support reps never go into details. I’ve had a fair amount of infractions, simply because i contradict what the reps have said and reference them to old posts to prove that im not wrong.
The posts get deleted, the thread locked and i get infracted.
It is NOT very shortsighted at all. ALmost every single MMO has the same rules.
Probably has a lot more info. Also HDD speeds and Ram can vastly affect load times.
Can i ask if your friend has checked their email and seen if there is a verification email there?
make sure to check the spambox too.
Ok. You need to create a support ticket. It seems that the account system is having a few issues as there have been a few people that have had the same problem.
If Anet find out you can and most likely will be banned. Theres no difference in what you are doing and gold selling.

Actually, i’ll edit this post, as the mods seem to be pretty strict today for some reason.
(edited by Renegadeimp.8439)
Have you tried to recreate the account, to see if it actually created it or not?
I love being a tank in a dungeon. Plus with the mechanics in this game, you can tank a ranged boss, or melee, and go and stand near some afk party members, or players that are begin obnoxious and get them killed, while you protect the others
They’ll soon learn not to do it again.
If that fails, it might be a good idea to do a full wipe, then get ArenaNet to change your email to a new one only used for this game. Then you know you will be secure.

It’s not possible right now to restore anything that is deleted or mistakenly bought. The support team simply doesnt have the facility to do it.
The devs are aware of it though and we’ve been told a feature is coming soon to allow them to do this.
Help! Accidently bought 42K Karma Item. Rollback please?

They could just code the sell tab to allow you to resell the item back for its original currency. It wouldnt take much coding at all to achieve, and could easily be hotfixed in.
Some keyloggers can easily hide away undetectable until the program they are designed to intercept is active.
Take WoW for example, there are multiple keyloggers that were not picked up for months and were only active when the login screen was running. It’s why Blizzard advised people to scan while the login screen was up, and had a bunch of gibberish typed in the login fields.
You also state that you have changed every password. Thats not a good idea if there is malware on your system. Because if there is, you just gave that info on everything you access to the loggers host.
Also, i wasnt trying to insinuate that you were any kind of a person. I was simply posting facts about account compromises. If you have a keylogger that is undetected on your system, as soon as you change your password or email details, that keylogger has picked them up and sent them to its host. You also say the passwords are inserted by 1password. That program utilises a form of copy and paste which keyloggers can easily intercept.
The only absolute sure way to be safe is to do a full reformat. Especially given the vast amount of keyloggers being coded lately for a whole variety of things.
If, after a full reformat, and you change your email and pass before logging in again, the same thing happens, then you have some cause to ask what is going on.
Right now though, from your information, it is still very likely you have a keylogger on your system or you have an email breach.
Are you having fun? If the answers yes, then why does your question matter at all?
If no? Then perhaps state the reasons why not constructively.
Prob just a bug in the system. Try creating the account again. If that doesnt work, youll have to get in touch with support.
Dont bother with a restoration/rollback. It cant be done. Support don’t have the tools to do it yet.
Your email is probably compromised then. Also remember, macs can get keyloggers to. Especially if you are browsing the forums on it. I mean, you do log into this site on it right?
1h mace/sword + shield, get tough/vit/pwer gear till 35 and go to town aoeing everything. You wont see much knocking you down.
If you levelled a paladin tank in wow, its pretty much the same spec. Low single target dps, but high aoe killing and survivability.
Never had a prob on my guardian. I either spec full tank spec and be a pure meatshield/which makes bosses insanely easy, or i can spec full support with my shields/regen auras/heals.
At the end of the day, im free to spec exactly how i want to play. If some random pug tries to dictate to me how i should play, yet theyre failing all over the place, i have no problem dropping group and jumping right into another.
Petal to the metal? You mean pedal right?
Im just playing. This is a good idea. Hope it works out and nobody tries to run it.
Although certain classes have a very extreme advantage in the race, as they have inherent skills that give them run speed.
I read a post yesterday by ANet saying it is not permissible to use Combat Mode.
On the other hand, do you think they have the tools in place to tell what mods you’re using?
If it connects to the game or alters/links to the games files when running, then yes, they can tell. Same as Blizzard can tell.
Necromancers need more love before warriors.
You can claim you are 100% sure, but the evidence suggests your system or more likely, your email was compromised.
Deep clean your system with multiple anti virus and malware software, or better still reformat. Then change your email and password.
The key now is to not login to the game until you have done this, as they will just have your information again otherwise.
A keylogger can come from any number of sources. You could have simply visited a fansite or a legit site that had a bad banner advertisment that downloaded in the background.
The key is to check every possible thing on your side first, before ArenaNet go checking their entire infrastructure.
More than likely a bug in the account systems again. Try waiting half an hour or so and see if it clears up. perhaps try different browsers, to see if you can get around the error.
Let them concentrate on stabilising the game first. Having an “armoury” type web system just puts more stress on the servers.
I made my guardian a pure tank from creation. Used vital and toughness gear and relied on traits and inherent stats to give the power i needed to kill things, as well as the power/prec signets. Once you hit 30, you can simply jump in dungeons or look for crafted gear, which has vit/tough/power on it.
I could EASILY handle groups of 5-6 mobs or more that were 1-2 levels higher than me, and kill them the same speed it takes a normal player to kill 1-2 of them.
I even took on 2-3 lvl 34 vets at level 32 and didnt have much of an issue.
I liken it to a pally tank in wow. Play defensively, use your skills well, and youll never die or come close to dying.
I’m working on a tank based warrior atm and so far it seems to be working out pretty much the same. Especially since warriors seem to have a higher health rate. Guardians rely on the regen factor and toughness more.
When i get chance, i’ll write up a guide for levelling as a tank specced guardian. It’s pretty fun, and proves that people who say that levelling as a tank is a bad idea, wrong.
Make sure you triple check your computer and email for security flaws before you log into the account or change your email. If you don’t, then they will be back into your account.
Where is password stored in my PC? + It's login encrypted?

The password is normally encrypted within the launcher files. If it wasnt encrypted, then it would be a very simple task for gold farmers to create a program that just uploads that file to their servers, or strips the info from it.
As for the connection, yes, it is secure. And it is encrypted.
