If i have a old Core2 Celeron “famous” 4300 and a 9600GT and now replace the 9600GT with a shiny new gtx 660TI, the FPS will triple or quadruple? So how is this a “waste”?
Actually you will hardly see an increase. Youll will notice some, but only due to the extra memory and architecture of the chip. If you were to benchmark your system indepth, you wouldnt find much of a increase at all. mainly due to the extreme bottlenecking both with the card and the fact that you would have an older motherboard that would struggle to cope with the new GPU

If you want a refund of the game, it has to be within the first 30 days of purchase, and you need to submit a support ticket to get it. The 30 days starts from when you create the ticket, so be quick.
More likely he was in a terrible group and none of them knew how to play their class. They probably thought they could button mash their way to the end.

The devs are hard at work trying to get bugs fixed and the game stable. Support has to deal with an abundance of tickets, mainly because they didnt expect the game to be this popular, but mostly because the ticket is clogged up with pointless tickets, and those made by people who fail to keep their computer secure.
Fix bugs, get the game stable, THEN they can start thinking about adding content.
If you add content on top of bugs that havent been fixed, then guess what, that contents going to be bugged too.

Item restorations are not available. Have you sent in a ticket, because ANYONE could say what you are saying to try and get free items.

You have heard rumour and conjecture. None of which is true. You fail to keep your computer or email secure, you lose your account due to gold sellers.
it’s not rocket science.
It is YOUR problem if youraccount is getting accessed. You have a keylogger on your computer, and every time you enter your details, guess what, the gold seller is getting them and logging into your account.
You are also using a terrible anti virus software, plus keyloggers are not virii anyway. They are malware .
A game running better on a standalone computer than on a laptop? Who would have thought it :/

How exactly? A keylogger or fansite could have your info at any time. Gold farmers/sellers dont use your info straight away. They normally wait a while so you think exactly what you are thinking now.
If you look at it from a third perspective, you would see that with a little common sense.

I have a “Clean” computer which I only use for gaming and work, so no key logging or any other malicious activities can occur. I have a laptop I use for everything else which I can access next to my computer, so even if something were to happen there would be no byplay between them (and yes my home network is set as public for other really unlikely issues that can still be possible).

I love people that cannot accept responsibility for their own failings. It always has to be the company itself. If that were true, then 2 million people would have been compromised, not just a few thousand which is the norm for MMO’s.
Transferring characters to another account is not an option right now. It might come in the future, but theres been very little info on it.
It is probably a good idea to buy a new account and level a new character on there. You can try support if you wish, but i feel it would be a wasted ticket.
They have more important things to get in the game first, than a pointless vanity mechanic.
Efficient doesnt mean “just getting on with it” though. It means youve thought out a plan to complete the content within the shortest time possible and with the least risk.
Which means you pretty much rushed through it.

Well, look at it this way. We dont know when the feature will go live, so you could have plenty of time to level another character to the same point your last one was at. Remember, the games only been live 3 weeks, so it might be painful to level again, but it certainly wont be difficult.
Perhaps take a few days break to cool off, then come back and play, then head to wvwvw and kill everyone there as recompense.
As for your other question, no. Once it is accepted by the other account, it no longer has anything to do with your character, thats why in games like wow, they have dedicated teams to track down single items. Otherwise they could simply hit a rollback button and everything will be how it was.

First rule of tech support is to make sure that the person has done everything they can to their machine, then they will check out the account.
Theyre just going through standard tech support rules. Send another ticket and CLEARLY tell them that youve tried the account on multiple machines and it doesnt work, while every other account does.

If you got “hacked” you need to find out how they got in. This means thorough checks of your computer and maybe even a full reformat.
I fyou choose to ignore it and blame other people, then it will just happen again, and if you do any kind of online banking or shopping… theyll get that info too.

There arent any facilities to grant account restorations at this time. ArenaNet have said that they are coming soon, but don’t have any ETA.
When they do come, it will be account based, which means the entire account will be rolled back to a previous save state.
They havent said if rollbacks will apply to old issues though.

Normally the GW1 will. At least it did for me.
Items whether they are lost, stolen, or bought in error cannot be replaced at this time. Theyve already gone on record to say that. Its a feature that is coming in the future, but no ETA yet.

It seems the servers are set up to be like diablo 3’s. very simplistic as is the database. Thats why they will only offer account rollbacks and not character or specific items.
Hopefully in the future it will change, but the statements that they have been releasing lately, dont bode too well for the game in the long term.

Also, we tried phone support but found it was far less efficient for both the customer and the team. Tickets really are working, but volume can mean you wait a few days. We’re working on reducing the wait and have made big inroads. We can review if you include those tickets in the review thread.
Phone lines are inefficient? Maybe if you keep outsourcing your support to NCsoft it is. If you hired inhouse support staff like EVERY other AAA MMO does, then it would never be an issue.

Security measures are in place. Its a complimentary customer service addition that isnt. Remember, the devs are under no obligation to restore any items, and even Blizzard didnt have item restoration for compromised accounts for a few YEARS after launch.
However, as i said, Arenanet have said that the feature is coming soon and it is backdateable. So you can go an play another game till restoration is available, then put in a request.
Gw2 has a LOT of potential. However, the game is only 3 weeks old, so we’ve a while to wait to see if it can live up to the hype the creators have made for it.
Thats up to you, but blaming other people and also spouting profanities when the problem lies with you wont achieve much. Whatever game you choose to play next, have fun, until the keylogger gets the login details for that game too!

Nope. Arenanet cannot refund missing or lost items. The ability is not coded into the game yet.
WHen it does finally get implemented, they have said that it will be an ACCOUNT rollback, not a character one. So if you request a restoration after a compromise, the entire account will be rolled back to the last save on file before the compromise happened. Any progress on any character after the compromise will be lost.
Easy. Learn to hotkey.
Im not sure if tooltips can be turned off. If they can, it will be in your ingame options panel.

Have you checked your computer with multiple virus and malware scanners, because it seems you have a keylogger on your computer.
Also, please understand that keyloggers do not just take game login details. If you bank online or use online payment facilities such as paypal, those details will be taken too.
All they can do is to keep trying the user and pass they have. Thats why its important the OP finds the point of compromise and fixes it.
Arenanet cannot restore characters or items at this time. They will be doing so in the future, but right now they just dont have the ability to do so.
However, when the feature is enabled, the restorations will be done on an account basis, similar to Diablo 3, and not on a character basis similar to wow. THis means anything after the point of compromise will be wiped on all characters should a restoration be requested.
To elaborate on my other post, the free transfers are temporary right now. One they close down and you have to pay to switch servers, this wont happen.
However, it is very very bad form for this to go unpunished. Especially since some players are making hundreds of gold per day from it.
They havent said they are treating it as one. They havent said anything on the matter yet. The only info we have so far is that everyone who is participating in afk farming in a certain area are slowly getting issues suspensions from the game.

The best bet is to run a few scans of your computer using multiple virus and malware scanners to find out if you have a keylogger. You need to do this before you change your password, as the keylogger will just pick up the new login info otherwise.
You have to wait for your ticket to be replied to. Have you checked your email to see if you have any mails from the games security system?
Someone in chinahas your email and password and has tried to access your account, but the games security system has blocked the attempt.

Because its probably an oversight. using the right click feature is not a problem in itself. Using it for AFK combat is an issue, but not one that Arenanet have said much on.
It is very close to an exploit, but as jestunhi said, its not for us to decide. It’s up to Arenanet and so far they have been very quiet about it.
