They should just change their rating system. Make it so more friends (people you made a premade team with) you have, the more rating you lose/less you gain when you face pugs (yolo queue people)
Leaving a chanter alive is not a glitch. That’s the way it’s designed and intended to be. You have to kill 1 group of enemies for the next one to spawn.
Won’t work. You could just rush the enemy lord. Not being able to actually heal makes it impossible to keep the lord alive.
Also, if it’s just a couple “splitters” on lord, you can’t really do much about it except send the equal number back to defend and hope you can kill them. You can’t really send a healer to defend and save the lord.
It won’t work.
As much as I liked HoH, I have to say that it just wouldn’t work in this game.
They can keep the game mode as it is but they do have to work on their rating system, matchmaking, and actually adding tournaments in game.
Now show screencaps of those solo queues and low ranked teams that you never do.
Yup, PvP fell apart with the latest daily change.
After all these months people still haven’t learned that Simin goes “poof” every 60 seconds from the last “poof”. Some times it’s better to be slow with sparks so instead of having 10 seconds to damage her, you have 60 seconds.
Timing is the key.
Negatives:
- performance issue
- too long
Positive:
- somewhat interesting first time you do it
There’s a certain (big) part of GW2 community that goes after achievement points. And to do those they’ll have to get all the PvP dailies. There’s no chance of them ever staying in PvP, they’ll get their dailies and they’re out. However, problem is that it will take them hours and hours, and they will change the experience of other players in a very bad way whether you’re with them or against them. Playing against newbies is definitely boring, and playing with them is annoying and frustrating (from a standard PvP player perspective). And poor matchmaking system will quite often put elitist teams in match against total newbies (daily farmers).
Same happened with GW1, elitism and similar system to this where super organized teams would face newbies killed PvP.
Also, I’m not whining here, because I was one of those elitists, but I’m just trying to put things into neutral perspective here.
Solutions:
1. Make PvP daily X amount of wins only and nothing else:
– This will motivate all those newbies to actually try hard to win, and their only objective will be victory, and who knows, one day they might even learn to play.
2. Improve the leaderboard system to discourage elitism:
– This would be a simple fix. Make the premade groups lose a lot more rating if they lose a match vs pugs. Also make them gain almost no rating if they win against pugs. More organized the team is, the less they should gain and more they should lose. This would make the leaderboard more dynamic and would motivate more people to play, without needed to add a special solo queue leaderboard that would never work.
You’re welcome.
You definitely should lower them back. The reason for that is that newbies who are only there for the dailies get stuck in PvP for way too long and make the game horrible experience for everyone else who enters alone and actually wants to win.
However, elitist organized teams are happy, they have more newbies to farm. Yay?
Agreed. Elitist organized teams have it even easier now, farming all the newbies who will spend hours and hours to get their daily. This is exactly why GW1 PvP died.
The best update ever. Finally some challenge rather than spamming 1111111 (oh wait, you don’t even have to spam, you have autoattack).
Great job devs, I hope you won’t revert this back to it was.
Now it’s time to increase the reward for completing these events.
Yup, laggineers are quite annoying with their grenade spam lag. Should be fixed.
Same problem, euro player on NA server.
My Hints achievement has been bugged for months now. I have all the hints completed but my progress bar still says 81/83.
I’ve written supports, I’ve reported the bug in game, I posted here months ago, everything got ignored.
Soooo, what’s up with that, and when can it be fixed?
Same problem here: party, guild and friend list is broken
EDIT: I’m an euro player on NA server

Decent and thoughtful post…. but:
No matter how great or fun or amazing any boss or dungeon or event is, in time, it will become a boring grind. What makes the bosses, or anything else truly interesting is that they’re new. It’s a challenge, different tactics have to be thought of. Bosses like Alpha, Jormag, Butcher in HotW, even Fire Elemental were extremely fun at first, when mechanics and strategies were not standardized.
The only thing that can be done would be adding new bosses, dungeons, events every month or so. And that would bring A LOT of new people in game, as it would be something unique in the world of gaming. However, it would cost a lot initially and no company is brave enough of taking such step.
Thieves will just be useless now. I really don’t understand the point of this nerf. The class that was supposed to be strongest of all in 1v1 combat, will become the weakest.

Ticket submitted on the 22nd, has just been closed today on the 28th with no reply.
It has happened many times in the past.
1. it was quite a close game
2. difference in ranks i not that big, you didn’t get any complete newbie under rank 10
3. you won because of your team compositions, easy with heavy bunkering
4. four kills and 1 objective neutralized on ele is not impressive at all, I guess you got better players in your team, or the enemies were indeed hotjoin heroes
Matchmaking will be bad until they find a way to split solo queue
(edited by Rezz.8019)
Good players who can play any profession and adapt to anything won’t be affected.
In theory, eles should be easy to kill but heavy damage dealers, while warriors should be harder to kill and do decent but not too high damage
Anet kinda reversed those roles for this game.
How about making the elementalists standard damage delaers like they were in GW1. Right now eles are waaay too tanky and they don’t deal enough damage. You should nerf their bunker skills and buff some of the damage dealing skills. Should work.
Just dont use RTL? Easy.
Also, they had to change it this way because it was definitely OP on spirit watch map. Even if they made it so you drop the orb when you use RTL, you could still pick up the first orb instantly, and later when you cap the orb you would be back at spawn in couple seconds.
Good nerf.
I completely disagree. Learn from your mistakes What rune was it by the way?
I want a “salvage all items” button next to the “deposit all collectibles” button.
Now, mr. dev, do that for me
Thanks!
warrior is fine
The most popular is that gimmick D/P perma invis thief.
But hey, suddenly no one complains about “22222” anymore.
Your “job” is not just to stand and guard a point. Your job is to win the game. To achieve that you have to think outside of the box and try different tactics instead of /afk on the shrine. Your team is most likely losing because of you. No offense meant.
System is perfect. Why should premades be awarded with massive rating for farming noobs over and over again. But if they do manage to somehow lose to noobs, then they should indeed be punished with a severe rating loss.
They probably just copied GW1 syste. Where for your wins you’d be getting +1 or +2 rating, and for your loss in that case you’d get -25
Quite a cool story tho, especially from someone who only does high rank premade super organized teams.
Why don’t you rotate the map every day. This just gets boring.
So how many Faithfuls are you trying to off-load?
Actually, I’m just spreading the information that might be useful for some people. Why would the regular flippers be the only people who know. Fair play.
It’s an exotic axe called: Faithful
Buy it for less than 5 gold, salvage it and get ectos + superior sigil of fire which is almost 6 gold
Also, you can flip superior sigils of fire.
You’re welcome.
You’re quite lucky actually, you’re getting tons of profit from t6 material.
I know that live-match observing is cheating, but they should add the match to a menu after they’ve finished. What’s the point in not observing top tournament matches but PvE guys? You can’t learn anything from hotjoin. I had an arguement with a guy (r30 guy!) in hotjoin who kept reasoning about that zerging is ways better than point capturing and holding and you shouldn’t pay attention for those things..
I srsly start to think that they don’t know for what purpose ppl want a feature.
1. unless they implement GW1 style Observer Mode (you could watch the replay of the match after it’s finished), it would be too easy to abuse the current live observe system.
2. “zerging” as you call it, can actually be quite effective if it’s done with an organized team and build. You just have to think outside of the box
There are no more tournaments.
Sounds like a gambling problem to me.
1. Thief is supposed to be the strongest 1v1 class, so you’re not supposed to beat an equally skilled thief player with your necro or anything else.
2. Thief takes full damage while invisible.
3. Fix your build.
This is coming from champion shadow/champion phantom, etc. player who wins 90% of necro vs thief, or thief vs necro duels.
Also… why would you go 1v1 in WvW?
Worked fine until today. Call target function seems to be broken for me. Is that being looked into?
its YOLT, not YOLO
Nancy Sinatra invented the term
There are no more tournaments…
If you mean 1-round quick match then yeah problem is there aren’t enough people playing.
I don’t see why you wouldn’t add first person option in the game. Video makers would definitely be happy with it and would make more videos and promote GW2 and Anet in that way. They would also spend more time on game.

Help video makers like that!
Comment on it and if you like it recommend it to your friends!
I hope people won’t get glory from custom arenas. Else someone can just “sync” their rank
CoE gives tons of cores and lodestones. I don’t see what’s the problem. You’re not supposed to farm them over night, the process is supposed to take months.
I don’t see any reason why not to skip. IMO that’s exactly the way is supposed to be played. Skip as much as possible, pretty much like a hard mode.
There are not enough people playing for a system to be accurate. If a rank 800 plays against rank 2, with 20 second queue waiting time before that, then something is definitely wrong.
