What about AFK people? People just get tired of waiting and go afk. Problem is when they get disced due to inactivity, they’re still technically online, so they won’t get kicked.
Fix it!

Forest = make bosses worth 50 points
Legacy = buff gate and lord health, make him award ~250 points
Khylo = just fine
Capricorn = delete it
Temple = Make buffs more relevant
Spirit Watch = just fine, tho rtl, and any skills that wouldn’t allow you to cap the shrine should make you drop the relic instantly

I have ~1000 tourney wins on ameircan server, if I wanted to switch to europe how would I start getting the chests again please?

Just entered a 1-round tourney, got a match instantly (I pressed a solo queue button). 4 of my teammates were all under rank 10 while enemy was a premade team with lowest rank 42.

Suggestion: Remove hotjoin and then make either 3-round or 1-round tournaments solo queue, and have the other be like it is now.
Fix the rewards, we PvP people also need gold for PvE stuff you know, and legendaries are expensive. Again, GW1 had a good system with z-keys because they could be sold and people could get rich just by PvPing which was fair because they would invest even more time than PvE farmers.
Rank emotes are boring, GW1 had way better looking emotes. Get one person to fix those!

- matchmaking and rating is great and all that but the only way of making it work is if you have a decent activity and the only way to achieve that right now is to remove hotjoin.

EDIT: the update as it is now pretty much looks like: “renamed 1-round paid tournaments to 1-round free tournaments” .. that’s pretty much it, as MM system is already in place.

PvP is fun and quite good for a MMO game. No need to act like a spoiled kid and complain about everything.

HA is unique format that no other game will ever have. The original creators are probably not even working for Anet anymore. I guess we have to get used to having super low quality PvP instead of pretty much best PvP ever (in MMO games that is).

I did report the exploit, and the player. I can’t test this as it’s not possible to have a private scrim, and I don’t want to get any points by cheating. Maybe if someone from Anet reads this they can test. I’m quite sure it does give bonus stats.

I think it’s very kind of you to help people with runs. Not many people do that. I hope you’ll be able to help them with path 4 soon as well.

I would completely remove the glory system as it sucks right now. It’s nothing but grind, and I still remember when devs promised us there will be no grind in this game

However, it won’t be anything like your expectations. My opinion is that many people will like it, mostly those who never played DotA, Dota 2 or ripoffs of those games. Simply because that type of game is always fun for most of people.

I remember back playing basketball (at the highest possible level in my city I might add) the trash talkers tended to be the crappier players. They use trash talk to get under the skin of their opponent and put them off there game. I used to dominate them without saying a word and would instruct my team (I was the captain) to not get involved. If someone was being talking trash set a hard screen or do a hard foul; smash them physically. But do not speak. Actions speak louder than words.

One thing is true in all the games I’ve played. Worst players talk the most. Even in free tourneys here, there’s usually some random guy in start giving all his brilliant tactics and plans, when in the end we see he is rank 10 while rest of us are rank 30-40+

Some info about the screenshot below:
It was a 4×5 game with 2 pugs (main team is Radom, Purie and me), our fifth managed to re-connect almost at the very end of the match.
Also, look at the point difference: we were basically farming them after the first teamfight instead of controlling 3 bases and giving them ~500-50.
Aaaaand I managed to make 2 cups of tea meanwhile.

But yeah, that is definitely the problem with this state of the game. Low ranked just get farmed by people running super serious builds like those on your screencap

playing against non-tryhard meta teambuilds such as ele+guard+thief+mes+nec

Esport will not happen. Anet just doesn’t have enough competence to do it. There are ~100 players in total doing paid tournaments, and it’s only like 2 hours a day. I just can’t see any way of this game ever becoming an esport. PvP will die soon.

Not that related but ranger UNDERWATER downed state is quite awesome. I faceroll on in wvw puzzle, just get downed on purpose and get my pet to revive me, then easy 1v2 wins while downed, pet heal is just too strong.

Yup, all 100 people are still somewhat active. Future looks bright.

There are way more engineers in games than thieves. And they’re just unbeatable.

No, I hope team joining won’t be removed. But I do hope that first rounds will be more balanced at least. meaning: teams vs teams and pugs vs pugs. And let pugs get stomped after that.

While there are times where customization is nice, there is probably something we can do to alleviate this issue. The reason the buffs get so small in the first place is that there just isn’t enough screen space to show full sized icons without without wrapping them, and eating up precious vertical viewing room. I could imagine an option to show only boons/conditions similar to how simple party UI works. This way we would probably never have to scale the icons, or at least stacking them would only be twice as high as normal. Another possibility is to prioritize the scaling of icons based on target relation. Enemies have larger boon icons, allies have bigger conditions, etc. In any case, “Make them bigger!” isn’t a full solution, but I agree something more could be done with that piece of UI.

Well, my choice is that I don’t want that. It’s perfectly fine the way it is now and I hope they won’t break it.

Been trying to do FREE tournaments for the last 2 hours. Average wait time is 15 minutes. All matches I had were 4v4 or 3v4. Good on you Anet!

It’s been bugged for months, so you won’t be getting any chest until you’ve played more tourneys in your new region than you did in the other one.

Rank points are there to show how much time you spend on the game and how much you brainlessly grind. If you’re rank 50+ already you can be proud of having the “no lifer/gimmick build abuser title!”

Completely the opposite from GW1, where rank meant skill, as you could only get it by winning (mostly getting high number of consecutive wins) and not grinding.

You make it sound like everything is dodgeable at any time. Ever tried getting aoe bombed by a ele and necro while trying to rezz a team mate?

It’s wrong to expect people to dodge everything. You could easily say for shockwave in GW1: just dodge it. But in reality it’s not that easy, and people still QQed about it until it finally got nerfed. It’s quite sad that PvP in this game is simply forgotten.

Shortbow thieves are stronger than mesmer. Here’s the proof. Please leave daggers alone and nerf the shortbow.

Because I refuse to run lame gimmick builds people would get so trashed in GW1 for having that gimmicky playstyle but I guess people in this game are different. There is way less honour in games.

Being farmed by r40+ ele/mes/necro/guard/thief team composition in FREE tourneys all day (so many tryhards on NA -_-). I’m getting fed up with that. I’m r33 atm btw, and I got it all in tourneys, except the 3 hot join games I did when I first bought this unfinished game which is for some reason called Guild Wars 2

All the tryhards in free tourneys go with OP mes/ele/guard/sin/necro
They do the same in paids.

It’s just sad they farm pugs in frees with that.

You can enter the tourneys alone, you get randoms in team.

Also, if any r30+ wants to team up with me for tourneys sometimes (NA region atm) I’m up for it.
