d/d ele.. its definitely the easiest. Pretty much a faceroll class, and if you are good with positioning and rotation then you can carry your team to victory easily.
There is a certain engi on NA that takes max advantage of this trait and is simply unbeatable 1v1 and also extremely useful at mid fight. Gives his team super easy victories.
So yes, this trait has to be nerfed.
I did 5 gambit on deadeye. Berserker ranger with signet of stone, longbow and shortbow for interrupts. Easy.
8 orb I did with 0 0 10 30 30 guardian. I threw 9 orbs and had almost a minute left and almost full health when she died.
This is how it should have been from the start, but it’s too late now.
Also, I get big profit from all of you legendary buyers
Josre (Celtus) is awesome staff ele. Best ele in game imo.
OP you said you did it after your 4th try. That already means it’s hard. Is there any dungeon that took you 4 tries to finish?
I think average player would need about 50 tries to kill liadri. Better need less and worse need more obviously.
It is hard! Also: liadri isn’t easier this year, it’s just that everyone plays better as they are more experienced in the game. For example: last year I couldn’t get 8 orbs and now I got it after 20 tries or so.
Liadri is not easy. If you beat her once every 5 times (or more) that does not mean at all that the fight is easy.
However, it’s definitely not impossible. Any profession can beat her. And all except rangers can get 8 orbs achievement. That is because pet dies and it’s like 50% nerf on ranger.
I did liadri normal way first on berserker ranger and 8 orbs on guardian, but I am confident that I could get 8 orbs on thief as well very easily.
Fun fact: I did 8 orbs on my ranger.
I do not believe this. After all, this is the internet.
Anyway, with ranger it is 50% harder than with any other profession just because pet is pretty much useless since it’s dead most of the time.
I’m never going back there again after I’m done afking blitz achievement.
They have to kill 2 more bosses right now, that’s why I have time to post here.
It is just so boring and takes so long. Anet should have put some tiny areas near the entrance to the each boss so people could stand there and have somewhat equal numbers and do this the way Anet imagined it to be done.
But that will never happen like this.
Even if bronze reward was as good as gold one I still wouldn’t do it. Killing one boss then going afk for the achievement is more than enough for me. It’s too boring.

Some of us got all those skins in the past but we destroyed them because it was waste of space. It’s good to be able to unlock them now in the wardrobe, because we already earned those skins in the past.

Only if it was hosted by ANet. But it’s not… so no way.
Reward for hearts is that you progress your map completion. AND you get karma. I think that’s more than enough.
I did over 1500 hearts btw. (5x map completion)
In my honest opinion the title is too easy to get. I think it should have been restricted to the 8 orbs achievement which is a bit harder.
I completely agree with this. There should definitely be a title for finishing 8 orb achievement. More people would try and go for it too then.
Took me like 10 tries to beat her on my berserker glass ranger. I won’t do 8 orbs on ranger though.
You can always play thief and just keep pushing far point. You will not cooperate with your team at all. Problem solved!
I agree that all grindy/zergy content should have decent rewards. If it’s not fun then it has to be rewarding.
I believe that sky crystals are interesting for most players who will do them. They don’t need any rewards except AP there because that content is actually enjoyable.
Flipping legendaries.
I can’t kill a good d/d ele with my ranger. And I think I’m quite decent ranger.
They cleanse all conditions all the time and heal a lot. I don’t die either but there is no way I could kill it. (a good ele that is)
And this is why they never want to talk about anything. As soon as they mention one thing it gets shown to everyone like this.
I can beat Ele’s 1v1 with my ranger rather easy. I spent very long time dueling d/d’s back when they was OP now there no way near as effective back then, so allot easier now.
Also I’ve found several rather solid backpoint and team fighting spec’s for my ranger that could easy go meta.
Thanks to Eura I took idea from one of his builds changed it turned it into something completely different and turned out to work insanely well.
Ranger’s in terms of Power build’s sure do need some work LB/GS is one trick pony, I’ve been fighting team’s trying to run 2x of them sitting back unloading it hurts allot just once you focus fire them they are good as dead.
But our bunker’s are still strong, our team support is still strong I personally think most ranger’s are looking in wrong area’s.
Trap ranger could be improved but it’s still solid build, in the right hand’s stuns/daze hurt the build but in saying that isn’t really any build can counter the amount of stun’s that are unloading.
Can you please teach me how to beat d/d ele when you have to defend the point and stay on it? I would really like to know. By beat I mean actually kill, because I’m assuming that’s what you are talking about here.
Thanks!
I would say situation depends all on it. sometimes it is good to just sit on home.
Yes, if you are confident that your team will win the teamfight in mid/far then you should definitely just stay home. Most people lose matches because they keep getting home decapped.
There is PvP and WvW already. PvE should stay as it is. I don’t like OP’s idea.
In PvE we are all supposed to help each other and not fight each other.
There is no ranger build that can beat d/d ele 1v1. Fact.
I seriously don’t understand why would people want to spend more money on this game. The game is amazing and all that but why pay for something when you can have it for free, like it should be.
Prysin.8542, You might not refer to Skyhammer, but others in this thread do.
Dhuumfire actually had a change made before the “nerf into oblivion”, specifically as a result of player feedback.
Downed mechanics have been updated periodically.
Modes – they’re experimenting with the new map in custom arenas, as well had a CDI after seeing player feedback.
Rangers – the responsiveness to pets alone was a big change for Rangers. One that players requested as well.
The changes I listed above are a tiny fraction of all the things ArenaNet has done in response to player feedback.
Do you feel it is reasonable to consult the playerbase on every single change they make in the game? Do you think it’s reasonable for them to talk to you guys about every change that is made or will be made? Honestly, when would they have the time to actually develop the game if they were doing all that?
Whether or not the balance of dev to player interaction is at a healthy state right now, saying ArenaNet ignores player feedback is factually wrong.
I approve of all of this. They do listen to feedback, sometimes even too much.
Only thing that I would personally want them to do is to make a little bit more forum posts, just so the community can see they are there. It can be anything really, even about potatoes.
Allie did awesome job with this imo. Josh and Justin do a good job too but sometimes they go missing for too long!
You should never, ever lose the home point. Sometimes the best way is to sit on it. However, some times you need to risk and help your team. It all depends on the situation!
just Fractals really. Everything else seems dismissible either because its not permanent, doesn’t make a big impact, or no one does it anymore or rarely, or if you play without a guild.
yep thought this was the case indeed.
Thanks, maybe when some more friends are like superbored I’ll check it out again with them but there really doesn’t seem to be much to do added to the game. Which honestly is a shame.
Now if only NCsoft would release a western version of Blade and Soul already :P
Are you seriously making that decision based only on one forum post? It looks like you already decided before even asking here, and just waited for someone to say something negative so you could bash on the game.
Go play it and see how you like it from the first hand. There is A LOT of new content, permanent one. Even most of old content has been reworked and now it’s so much different it could be considered new. Log on, play for few hours and then you’ll see.
I don’t see anything wrong with Cantha representing Chinese population. But Anet is centered in America and apparently people there have many problems with things that would be completely normal in Europe for example.
Take Sesame Street show for example. It was great for kids in 1980s and now in 2014 exactly the same episodes are released but they are only appropriate for mature audience now and can only be aired in the late evening. Again, Europe doesn’t have problems like this.
I think it’s really a shame that such a quality content is limited so much by meaningless things such as representations of nationalities within a game. I hope that things will get better in the future.
What is the point of expansion….
It’s like movie sequels. No quality but just there to make extra money. I prefer it the way it is now without any expansions or anything like that.
Have you not gotten any of your crafting disciplines to 450? With that many materials, you’ve probably been playing long enough to do a lot of crafting if you like. That’s how we all deal with the stuff—refine it.
(eheheh that and eventually cave, convert gold to gems, and buy a collections expansion <.<)
That requires so much karma. Some people need a lot of karma for legendaries!
Oh man, so i just lost a kitten load of gold because anet decided to recycle a massive farm event. Great, just great.
Thanks for the answer though.
You didn’t lose any gold. Just wait until the event is gone. Also, everyone was panick selling their t6 mats, price won’t go too much down.
So uhh what’s the counter??
mesmer
Are you being serious…..
Mesmer,Thief glass combo is what they said they’re afraid of. Basically TCG’s comp combined with well coordinated players.
omg you were being serious
LOL
TCG would beat apex. so uh. yeah.
I highly doubt they would beat that overpowered team composition. Their main advantage is that 1v1 2v2 power, where they simply can’t lose. It’s so easy for them to play on 3 points then. Also… thieves are useless against them
Ranger itself is fine imo, but the nature spirit has serious problems right now. Seems like the cast time for the rez has been drastically increased, and it’s incredibly buggy, not even going off sometimes now.
Yes it is buggy, if it is moving when you press the skill it will not cast it but it will go on full cooldown.
Ranger:
Turn around before using second hornet sting to escape in a chosen direction (you should only use it as escape or a leap finisher)
Stop moving and make sure your spirits are not moving before clicking their skills to avoid them getting bugged and not using their skills but still going on full cooldown
Swap pets just a bit before they die. If you swap them while they are not dead, the cooldown on swap is way, way shorter.
Queue pop… I will add more later
(edited by Rezz.8019)
I have way way way more than this…..
I am about to ding 23 so I don’t really fit this category I think. I just want to say that I’ve seen many, many “older” players in this game. I think it’s quite cool that everyone gets along: different ages and nationalities and in a way everyone is quite similar. Internet does wonders.
I can’t believe no one actually answered this yet.
Sic’em applies a revealed buff on the enemy. It prevents them from going stealth. On ranger I just time my stun right after that revealed from sic’em disappears, that gives me plenty of time to burst the poor thieves down.
I’m assuming this happens more on NA servers. Yes many people have huge egos but that is mostly due to lack of a real competition.
I could write 1000 words about sociological and psychological stuff why but I won’t. The conclusion is that proper ladder format and seasons will fix most of ego stuff, at least in rated arenas.
It is not fair at all. It just encourages more people to use credit cards to get gems and convert them to gold to get their legendaries.
Another advantage with having engineers in the opposing team is that they often use downed skill 3 to stop their teammates from finishing your allies.
Anyway, what Josh said is right. Also another thing is that those engis die really easily 2v1. Just have your roamer gank them.
I want Skyhammer in team queue for NA as well. I would have fun playing it.
I guess tacos part will be interesting at least.
Oh and I think this ready up format is way better (the one from 2 weeks ago). It’s less formal and involves the community more.
What Karla is trying to say is that rewards shouldn’t be the main reason for population increase, it should be the infrastructure. Yes?
Anyway, I’ve always been saying: yes rewards are great, add them, they can’t hurt. But what should be the priority is the proper infrastructure. Have visible in game ratings, proper ladder, make it competitive. Those things are really not hard to make. That will actually keep the population.
Also, there is a huge drop in pvp playerbase already since the patch. I remember having 1 minute queues and now they are mostly between 5 and 10 minutes, which is a very long time to wait to get a bad matchup anyway. These rewards are not bad at all, but they are definitely not enough.
70-80% is not that many (lowest hp-pool) how it looks like^^
hp pool means absolutely nothing
It doesn’t matter on which weapon the sigil is equipped. It makes no difference whatsoever if it’s on offhand or main hand.
From wiki:
Sigil effects are not restricted to the respective weapon’s skills. For example, a Sigil of Force on an off hand weapon will also increase the damage of mainhand skills or utility skills.
I’m potato hungry now! :|
Fixed that for you.
GW1 was not laggy at all. On my mesmer I could interrupt all 0.75sec cast skills easily.
I meant more the movement, etc. How it rubberbanded and all that junk.
Or maybe it was another poorly optimised game for long distance ping…
Yeah rubberbanding was an issue. There were few tricks to get around it but it was still annoying. I don’t see anything like that in GW2 though.
For me there is a little bit more delay on GW2 but that’s because I’m in Europe and I play on NA server. It is still fine. No need for quick interrupts in this game anyway.
