Drinking is very bad for you and damages your health. You shouldn’t post things like that on forums where the majority of people are age 12.
Don’t join guild teams. What else did you expect. They’ll probably got gold out of some poor newbie who needed their dungeon master title now. I hope you learned your lesson
All those areas were easily farmed with standard builds. At least you don’t NEED a fixed team build for GW2 areas. You CAN run with any classes and team composition and be successful.
This is coming from someone who played GW1 for a long, long time.
Noble was inspired by gimmick contagion necros from GW1 I guess. Anyway, it’s called “group event” for a reason. You’re not supposed to solo it easily.
WvW is the easiest and fastest. Just go around alone, or with friends, doesn’t matter, and kill dolyaks/guards/camps.
Achievement points.
Some have big guilds and they showoff a lot while others don’t. That doesn’t make them better A real “pro” commander would do the most with least people.
They lose a lot of the invisible rating. That’s enough of a punishment
Just click on “create roster” and then click on “submit” without inviting anyone
It has the same functionality as “solo queue” button
couple months ago I did 10 tries and didnt get an exotic mini out of rare
Why not both, the ladder rank and the glory rank?
Not taking it srs until they make the rating visible. The only reason why they hide it is because system is flawed and bugged.
Solo queue means you enter alone. It has the same function as going on create a roster and then clicking submit without inviting anyone. It is completely useless.
Maybe they’ll create a real solo queue one day, who knows.
To get 1 achievement point from the daily pve.
1. blind
2. interrupt key skills
3. use protection
4. dodge
5. dodge
6. don’t stand in AoE circles
7. position
8. dodge
The way achievement leaderboard works now is unfair for everyone who started playing GW2 a week or more after the release as there is no way to get all the daily events for them, so they have 0 chance to be on top. Believe it or not, some people do want to be on top.
The way to fix this would be introducing a similar leaderboard and have it up as well. In that leaderboard we would have all the achievement points we have now, but without the daily and monthly achievements. That would motivate more people to go for the achievements and therefore spend more time on the game, and make the Anet happy.
Making this would be extremely easy. Just pull the data from all the achievements except the dailies/monthlies and sum up the points, that are already summed up in the categories. Then, stick all that on the leaderboard.
Easy to make, would make more players happy, why not do it?
Daily and monthly points should not count, ever. It’s unfair that new players, that might even be better in game can never get the same number of points as someone who has time to log on every day and get all the possible daily achievement.
Also, points do matter. When I join a dungeon group, I definitely do notice the number of achievement points, and I do consider the people with more points to be more reliable.
But fair enough, now we got: who puts more time into the game achievement leaderboard. It would be fine if it would also show the hours played by their name.
I hope we’ll eventually get a leaderboard that measures player skills eventually, rather than time invested.
Also this leaderboard will put many new players off the game, as there is no point in getting the achievements. There is no sense of achievement, as someone who did all the dailies from the day 1 will have A LOT points more than them.
They said they want to make sure the leaderboard is working. They also said it’s there but hidden. So when they do make sure and it’s working, it will show the stats from when it was broken as well? I see…
Or wait, wouldn’t the more simple explanation be that “invisible” means "we don’t have enough competent programmers to make it work, but players wanted to make some progress so we’ll just say it’s “invisible” even though we don’t have anything yet.
you’re supposed to be protecting the golems instead of hitting the flying chicken
all those events are definitely worth doing: easy ectos + chance for precursor
if you get them in the chest they’re account bound
if you get them as a random drop you can do anything you want with them
Or they’ll simply show everyone who has the highest glory ranks.
PvP is amazing. The invisibility of the rating system that no game ever had. The non-existing ladder. Millions and millions of people playing it. Unique and special.
No point in resetting their rating. If they keep losing, their rating should keep dropping. Once they start winning, their rating will go up quite fast.
Remember: WvW is not a mandatory part of the game.
Leaderboards:
PvP – X players with the highest rank (glory thing, not MMR)
WvW – X players with the highest rank (new WvW rank grind thing)
PvE – X players with the highest number of achievement points
Oh well, at least they tried

That is what the game is all about
This is the link that made many people buy the game.

I’ll quote few things from that page and comment them.
QUOTE: " In one match, players must battle over a ruined pirate ship, while in another match they may have to destroy an enemy siege weapon. "
- Nothing technically false in this but it is not entirely true in reality.
Ruined pirate ship is in the infamous Raid on the Capricorn map. However, no one actually cares about the ship, the cannon is ignored. It’s all about capturing the points.
Destroy an enemy siege weapon is in the Battle of Khylo map. However, it’s really more of a side objective. It’s not that important as the points capturing and defending.
Interesting thing is that Point Capture system is not mentioned anywhere on that page. A potential customer will get on that page and get all kinds of expectations. “WOW A PIRATE SHIP!!! LET’S GET IT!” They’ll buy the game and be disappointed.
QUOTE: “Competitive players looking for more organized play can try out tournament mode, which pits teams of five players against each other in a variety of monthly and player-run tournaments.”
That’s an obvious lie. There are no tournament modes. There have never even been any monthly nor player-run tournaments. Obviously another trick to get more people to buy the game.
So is this kind of marketing lie illegal or is it just wrong? Or both? Can Anet get in trouble because of the false information they provide there?
Discuss!
smashing pots = zelda
The system is great. Couldn’t be much better.
However, it takes too many clicks and stuff to get what you want. You should re-design the mechanics of it. For example I want to sell a stack of powerful bloods (everyones favourite money making material).
- I have to click on trade post (O).
- Then I have to wait until the gem store screen loads
- Then I have to press on trade icon
- Then I have to type the name into a search box
- Then I have to press search, or enter
- Then I have to find the item on the list and click on it
- Then I have to click on place a custom order tab (to check the price of the buyers)
- Then I have to note the price (either write it down or remember it)
- Then I have to go back and click on the trade icon again
- Then I have to find my stack of Powerful Blood in the list of the items in my inventory
- Then when I’ve found my stack, I have to click on it
- Then I have to put in the selling price
- Then I have to click on sell
Way too complicated. You should let me design something better for you.
All that is if everything goes smooth, without making any errors. If you make some error like forgetting the price or even remembering you should check potent blood price meanwhile, to make sure your decision is right. It just takes more time.
You’re welcome.
There are DRAGONS in this game? Oh wit.. you mean those immobile non-flying useless chickens? Yeah, they’re only good for getting rares. I mean seriously, you kill a DRAGON and you don’t get any feeling of accomplishment at all. That’s a fail.
You do realize there are way less than 326 players playing PvP?
The first step is admitting you have a problem. That’s good that you are already there. Now you are on the road to recovery. Today is the first day of the rest of your life!
Isn’t the every day the first day of the rest of his life, and everyone elses?
Ginva is a super easy boss anyway. Now you have to actually play instead of alt-tabbing with your auto-attack on. huge nerf I know.. what a tragedy.
Farming high level fractals, CoE, Arah, and the cookie cutter dungeons as well with 2-3 rangers without any problem. It’s a matter of learning to play.
It’s broken. Doesn’t scale properly. Hopefully it will be fixed in couple months.
Bonus chest ALWAYS gives 1 rare (or better). The dragon chest can still give you more rares or exotics.
Being stuck in the cutscene without being able to skip it is not fun at all. Why does everyone have to be forced to watch that…thing
Just call them “quick match” rather than tournaments. Or go on Wikipedia and look for the definition of the word “tournament”.
Arenanet,
do you really expect people to play tpvp if something like this is possible?
They don’t. That’s why they gave up on their tournament idea (removed wall of champions). And they made all the improvements to WvW. After all, that format has way greater population. It’s all about the money
They should revert resing and finishing moves back to 100%. Using the consoles, etc. as well.
Leaderboards of who got the most glory (highest rank) are completely useless. This update was a huge disappointment. Maybe they’ll add an actual rating system with a decent ladder in couple years.
GW2 spidy doesnt help at all, as it’s not realistic. No one actually buys those items. But you can still try
LF guardian mesmer warrior ranger. 3kpts+
It’s bugged. The difficulty doesn’t scale. Only been like that for months
T6 materials (like powerful blood), mini jackalope, some expensive weapons, etc.
Good players adapt to every situation and can play and carry anyone. Less good players need to get carried, and if it’s not possible they’ll quit.
Powerful blood price has been rising a lot over the last few days. However, at some hours of the day the buy price is A LOT lower than sell price. Right now you can buy it for ~31 silver and sell for ~38 silver.
I suggest that everyone goes and does it as it’s easy profit. It’s not fair that only few market abusers notice those things. Everyone should know about it.
You’re welcome.
If you have a decent build you’ll understand how extremely useful the ranger is. Sadly not many players realize that.
No. You can just craft them. Consult GW2 Wiki for more info on that.
Dungeons are fine. Can’t remember when was the last time I had any problem with people or with the gameplay, and I go with different, random people each time.
Just don’t join: “OMG NEED ZERKER WAR SPEED CLEAR FAST FAST CAN’T LOSE 1 SECOND” groups and you’ll be fine.
