Obal, and to all of your crew and the folks at DnT
YOU friggin rock!
thank you!
for me its a matter of what i am doing,
if you are doing group stuff, even with one other person, Longbow. It has more utility and the fire field coupled with blast finisher is never a bad thing to add to a group.
if you are running Solo, and only functioning in that regard. I would say rifle.
I could be way off base for it. but that is at least how i usually run. rifle solo longbow groups. IF… i am even going to be using range.
“vigil” run, ( kick the door in and killallthings )
“whispers” run, ( efficiency and well thought out )
(( shrug))
20, 25, 0, 0, 25,
support guard right??
(( runs off to go double check his numbers))
alternative way of thinking about it…
The Citadel of Flame event… With the mega server there will actually be more people on the map again. if for no other reason than they want to see if they can get into the dungeon. allowing more people to do the event to get in. Which takes all of 10 min.
did you know that you make more gold off the event than you do running the dungeon?
especially if there is a group there and the event scales…
do you main a necromancer?
actual answer, (my opinion of course) Arena net did not expect so many people to get to level 50. much less within 24 hours.
data mining has shown the levels to go as high as 140. have some patience it will come.
some of us still have to pug our way to 50.
at off hours.
AC 1/3, Cm 1/3, TA up/F, SE 1/3, COE 1/2/3, CoF 1/2, HoTw 1, Arah 1/2/3
about 4 hours worth of running. Just from the dungeon end loot your at 20 to 25 gold. Sell off all crafting mats from salvages etc. your up another 20 to 25. and yes like Cranos said, make dungeon specific trinkets. or buy toys for inscriptions. and you have even more.
Dungeon running can be very lucrative. IF… IF… you have a solid, consistant group. and know what is going on.
typical speed clear dungeon tours are around 15 paths. including Arah. average time for completion is between 3 and 4 hours.
10 to 15 min a path
Agreed with Dream there,
if you have been playing Melee classes and the like then yes Spoj’s guide would be the best overall PvE build for you to use. it takes advantage of things that make Necromancer cool. as well as put you in the thick of the fight.
as you develop your style a bit more you can explore outside of the realm and play with conditions and WvW etc.
Have fun with it!
standard high level dungeon tour. nets around 50 to 70 gold per tour
tour lasting about 3 hours.
Dungeon touring still is, and SHOULD always be the best way to make gold in the end game. outside of economics and the trading post.
In what bizzaro world are you making ~20g an hour doing ANY dungeon?
Speedruns, although 20g is only if you have lucky drops. However 15g is more than doable.
speed runs,
the numbers i quoted are what I personally average, i know others that do more and or less.
Cursed shore farming is really good as well. but it requires a bigger group. Dungeon tours require only 5.

absolutely not.
how would I get my world completion?
How can I help a guildie level up when they roll a new toon?
How can my guild do its crusade across tyria without being able to enter half the maps?
if this is about the train. then i am sorry for you. It will always exist as long as there is loot to be had. if you do not like it. Don’t hang out in Queensdale. I certainly dont, I get more and better loot going everywhere else.
Dulfy posted these in the profession if you have not already seen them. thought I would link them up. No Arena net reasponse yet so I am not sure if this is actually it or not. But none the less.
any thoughts runners?

late… late night.
group of friends are feeling odd. We do a tier one fractal with an all ele group. just for giggles.
tons of fun.
couple people left for the night so we grab some more friends. lets run mesmers. we all have mesmers right?
SURE!
off to low level fractal. get swamp.. hmmm.. 3 mesmer with portals. easiest wisp run ever!
get mossman. we wipe.
(( 0.o ))
wha? why are we dying?
wipe again.
(( 0.o ))
head back in and I notice the fact that there is something like 30 some odd wolves around…. ohhh, thats why, but wait… WHY are there so many wolves? the vets spawn more. but why are there so many has mossman been infected by some kind of dredge syrum?
one of the gang pipes up on mumble… ok, we obviously need to be killing the wolves or we are going to be dying left and right. (( bear in mind i am just kind of sitting there wondering how they even have time to spawn? i have NEVER had this happen before. ))) they ask who here hits the hardest?
someone pipes up " most likely Chef here."
(( still have not said anything.))
" well what are you guys all hitting for there abouts? ""
" i am doing about 300 and critting for 800. "
(( o,0 ))
" "i am about the same. "
"" doing about 500 normal and critting for 1k""
(( 0.o ))
"" Chef how about all of us focus on the vet wolves and you focus mossman"
.. ok sounds like a plan
finally get him down. much cheering is abound.
" hey chef how hard are you hitting for anyway?"
…. around 3 k with 5 to 6 k crits.
’’ WHAT ARE YOU RUNNING???? """
((o.o))
I love my people, but dear gods. some days.
that has got to be one of the most epic screens ever….
I care Spoj.
just makes me sad that we could hope for something that will allow Necromancers a part of the “group” guess we will have to wait for the next patch… balance… thing….
Good master Top,
It would behoove you to search the forum for a thread called " players against stacking skipping/stuff [PASS}
While you are doing that. I would politely ask that you refrain from trying to fix what is not broken. The Pits of Tyria have offered many of us hours upon hours of wonderfull times and comadrie. Some great stories of utter failures and grand triumphs.
please.
STOP TELLING ME HOW TO PLAY MY GAME!
thank you, Best of luck to you in your dungeon touring.
I think most of us are really looking forward to this change. It affords people in the high end to really analyse things and change it up for some interesting combinations.
coming soon…
HotW P1 5g
(facepalm)
Lupi is casually downed 45 seconds to 1 min, with a DPS team that uses ACTIVE defense. and knows how to dodge.
Current record for Lupi Kill is 7 seconds. I wont go into how many hours it took to pull of that ONE spike.
funny thing. for you to think on… that Kill was done with NO heavy classes (if i remember correctly)
Berzerker gear has not ruined anything. We as players got smarter and figured things out.
Just spent an hour in the Edge of the mist on the champ run.
3 ranks.
its really… really NOT hard.
last night, a friend of mine got the fractal shield skin..
at level 11.
cry
Casual organized PvE dungeon team classes are various, capable of 50k per second on average
OPTIMAL organized PvE dungeon teams capable of 75 to 100 k per second on average.
DpS specced and geared Classes for PvE
Elementalist (highest)
Thief
everyone else is about the same.
and yes people far better at math than I, have already crunched the numbers many, many times.
Edit: key word in there is ORGANISED
(( Cries ))
the forward Up path has been removed in favor of aetherblades.
apologies. welcome back to Guild Wars 2
edit: … fast Lilith!
dear gods.
Goku OP!
Well done, Very well done.
at a basic level, (I have and play both classes)
Necromancer has more personal and direct damage and sustain. does not bring party buffing or support.
Ranger brings Party buffing and support but is finicky for fights, i.e. controlled melee range being cited here.
Grande scheme.. in my opinion either will work, if you have a fairly steady group you can build off of each other. and still have a good time. with the CdI on the ranger going on, who knows what will happen to them here soon. they may become far and away the better class or they may get bombed. (shrug) They are both usefull in their own way. play them both and have fun with it and develop your runner to fit the needs of the group you are in.
Ahh point to Dutchiez
forgive me as I had spaced that you guys had done that. and had done all the number backing to make it happen.
so to alter the concept then. take the wall out of the equation.
highest Damage team with no wall?
speed kill bloom hunger ???
I think that’s the odd part out,
Yes 2 Ele is more than capable of the might stacking. its the 5th man out. that I wonder about. in a theory it could be an Engie for a fast Vul cap? maybe? or just another Ele for just some raw damage output? that’s why I suugested a thief first as he can do some Vul and does not need fgs for high damage. its the positioning that concerns me,
which might be an interesting dynamic. the Highest dps team would be different if you are talking about something you can put on a wall vs something that you have to fight in the open such as bloom hunger for example.
interesting concept. for just pure raw damage output….
I am going to hazard a guess that it would be:
2 Ele (might stacking and FgS)
1 War, (banners and FgJ)
1 ranger (warhorn, spotter and frost)
1 thief (might stack with shortbow and backstab, although I wonder as if you ar walling something can the thief get “behind” something for the damage boost.
that being said and thinking on it. I think it would be 3 Ele with war and ranger. just for the extra Fgs,
personally,
I am digging the zodiac set up there DeSade.
not IN, but on my way to!
Mesmer.
(what can I say I really like the CoF helm and CoE top… sue me… legs, gloves and boots are trixster.)
When I am in the open world and just bopping around I will take the locust signet.
when I am in a dungeon and actually running with a group I don’t need locusts for a boss fight. For trash skips sure, it comes down to just knowing your encounters and what You can bring to the table that will help you. Movement seed is nice but is not always required.
I admit its a little much to digest if you don’t know what your looking for. It took me a handful of reads to get all the information out of it.
however, Spoj did a good job and was genuinely trying to be helpful and concise.
the very basic.
20, 25, 0, 0, 25
berserker gear with Scholar runes. (knights gear is you are not comfortable as glass,)
Berserker weapons, with Dagger being Primary DpS weapon, have sigil of force/night or (insert enemy) slaying. Focus and warhorn in off hand on swap, with Sigils of perception. Have an Axe handy for range fights.
Utility Bar: well of suffering for aoe melee damage, and 2 slots for your choosing. (( I run signet of spite and well of darkness usually. but its situational. your whole utility bar is really situational. and it will depend on where you are and who you are with.
If I am running dungeons and there is an Ele in the group I take out the wells. I will not mess with the fire fields. signet of spite, blood is power, and signet of locusts. If there is no Ele in the group. I have the well of suffering, well of darkness, and signet of spite or Blood is power. It really is just trying to figure out what it is that YOU want to have and can use for your advantage. Just don’t cover up some fields with your wells if you can avoid it.
elite is variable based on need. I usually have the flesh gollum out for extra Damage. but will swap to plague for dungeons and various other encounters.
hope that helps a bit.

:)
good stuff in there.
I owe you an apology Miku,
As I read and RE read your original answer I realized you answered before hand and I just didn’t quite grasp it.
So..
Sorry, my bad I need to slow down somedays and really read what is being put in front of me.
Moving on, I am in agreeance with you, I think the best way would be if the instance owner does in fact leave whether by their own reasoning, or by force (DC etc). the ownership of said instance can either be manually transferred by said owner, (emergency phone call, hand it off to a guild mate), or automatically transferred to another player, (connection lags out and getting back in takes to long. Or just flat out bailing on run ). However the instance owner cannot be removed (kicked), by anyone else. Only by themselves.
Miku you bring up an interesting dynamic.
As much as I dislike the concept of being able to grief, Runners like those in your video showed. Having the Instance ownership transfer may not be the answer.
How would you feel If You solo ran a path and had 2 people jump in and kick you, and claim your end rewards. If the Instance ownership transferred I would imagine we would begetting MANY complaint of griefers basically stealing peoples runs.
By having the Instance owner getting kicked out and the run terminated…
As painful as it may seem, Arena Net may actually have the less of many evils method of instance management. This is an interesting Concept…..
The Only modification that I could see working would be what You would need Miku and be that instance owners are not capable of being kicked out. the option doesn’t even show up…
(ponders)
Sorry, I’ll clarify exactly what I meant; I can sometimes be really wordy.
The ownership of an instance should indeed be transferred, but ONLY in the case of the owner leaving through their own decision. It is illogical to offer the option of kicking the instance owner, as the instance would be lost for everyone including the owner. There is no situation that I can think of where it would be viable to permit anyone to kick the owner of an instance for any purpose other than griefing and as such, it shouldn’t be enabled.
Heh,
Don’t worry I get wordy too and more often than not lose track of anything I am trying to get at. )
Nuts and bolts to it. The Instance owner situation is I would think in an acceptable situation currently but with evolution things would need to change. As Always people are getting “smarter”
Instance owners should not be able to get kicked from the run. the option should not even be available. HOWEVER… the instance owner should have the ability to transfer the ownership.. somehow…. But even then, what happens if just something goes catywumpus with the owners net or something and is DC’ed. It would be very nice to be able to transfer the ownership to another player so that you do not lose all of your progress in the run. But how would you remove the irremovable player?
I think at this point we are talking mechanics and technical that I will be the first to admit I know so very little about…. If YOU were given the design choice. how would YOU set up the instance ownership concept?
Cleave on dagger (or a new weapon altogether, POWER MELLEE)
Reflect on Spectral wall, (traited if you have to )
and Blast finishers on the warhorn skills.
those things would change necromancer in a good way. Confusion doesn’t sit in my head right for some reason. at least Necromancer casting it. If it came from a corruption THAT would make sense.
warhorn improvements:
make the skills blast finishers.
Also, if you indeed are running explorable mode. you will see them on the chest reward for the day but not in your inventory as the go straight to your “wallet” now.
Danicia, I’m hoping to see one of your characters in a dungeon looking fashionable too sometime soon!
Much like IRL, I am not fashionable AT ALL and look pretty dorky.
Fortunately many of us are dorky here, so you’re in good company. And I assure you that dorky can be fashionably awesome.
gamers….
I think being “dorky” is a prerequisite.
:)

For your review Mistress Ajit,
Necromancer in my carrion days.
Then in proper Zerk Scholar.
And for the amusement of such, The required Asura Ele. He is not done yet so I will have to work on him once he is properly leveled.
and with the Living story in its final releases.
the focus of the crew can be to the maintaining and development of everything else.
one can hope.
so simple yet I cannot seem to move away from it.
and yet I realized this is a really crappy pic, I need a to get a better one.
Also they will always be “best in Slot”
So if arena Net decides to add another tier of gear, the legendaries will automatically get boosted.
If you don’t like the skins. get them anyway if you would like to and reskin them. you now know that you will always have the best available weapon stat wise. Big reason I am going for more.
