Maybe they could introduce some more visual queus to direct newb traffic. Like, if home gets decapped the game states as much on the screen. But it doesn’t say so for far. That way players with no concept of proper rotations will take note and quite possibly respond to a home decap, and naturally cycle back to mid afterwards.

Could even make some sort of “Rotation suggestions for newbs” feature that can be toggled on/off that gives newbies these notifications to get them into the game.

Minimap can ping relevant locations with the notifications.

That’s not to be pejorative, but the lists become skewed as quickly as you consider the authors bias, or lack there’of.

At best we can take from this the extremes of A’s vs D’s. From that we can highlight those areas in need of dramatic buffs.

Mirror should be A or B. It easily competes with Ether Fest now. In fact, Ether Fest is my third pick for heal these days, and 4th if I were to run a Well Chrono.

So what you’re saying is, it shouldn’t pull them into two, it should pull them into a fine red mist.

This is the biggest event/injection of content since release.

My very first match there was a 3 man premade on the enemy team. Almost the entire match was a never ending 5v5 at mid (with some side decaps/caps by me). They lost.

Next match had a 5 man premade on it vs full solo. Was a full on match but the premade lost.

Obviously the level of organization and skill of the premade makes all the difference. But if you’ve got a group of even headed solo’s, the premades can go down too.

Unranked maps suck.

Remove courtyard too while you’re at it.

If I wanted to go all in kitten I’d go custom.

With base 80% crit chance, danger time doesnt seem worth it. You’re already at 100% crit chance with fury, which you’ll easily have 100% uptime between Pack runes and Dueling line.

I don’t understand why Mistrust is in there. You might aswell take mantra heal and harmonius mantras. You’d get better healing AND a damage buff. Then you could also invest in MoD in place of Feedback (for WvW), that or mantra cleanse since you lack cleanse. That way you can interrupt ranged attacks (such as Rapid Fire) and get way more out of your Delayed Reactions.

I was so ticked because I wanted to chase you down and, well, you know, but I got almost no support trying to defend home. I’m sorry though about the Moa… I just think it’s fun to Moa another Mesmer.

In my own defense, I recently returned to GW2 and chose to make my Mesmer my main character. Condi builds are something I’ve not tried much in the past but they do very well against melee classes.

After that last fight I thought to myself, “Crap, perhaps I should get a pistol…”

You mention mesmer now being able to do more damage from stealth then thief can. How can this be intended when thief is meant to be the assassination class?

I play mesmer, as well as thief and warrior. I am way more skilled at the other two, yet the rewards I claim as a mesmer are far greater then with either war or thief. This is coming from a wvw roaming perspective.

Currently, the skill floor is too low. The ceiling is still high, though.

I highlighted the problem of your whole premise. It’s a faulty presumption.

As for roaming warriors, thieves, and mesmers in WvW, that’s entirely relative. While I understand you have your personal experience, I don’t know how you’d hope to hold a serious standing in a discussion on those grounds alone.

Welcome to the PvP forum, and to PvP in general.

It’s probably worth practicing for a while and learning how to counter the various classes and their builds before coming here to complain. It’s energy better spent.

I imagine if the comp you faced was 1 of each different classes, you’d of had the same result.

Essentially what you’re saying is that mechanically entering stealth would “interrupt” (or cancel) a channeled skill.

Obviously this won’t be the case. Like ever.

Good post, I think it addresses a real concern in the community of the game.
I’ve cross-referenced a lot of people in blind questioning about which professions they perceive get the most flak, and overall it seems like Mesmer definitely gets disproportionately more complaints than other professions for a given level of balance.
Even during the cele meta over the past year I would get mes op complaints, despite only two Mesmers going to WTS, and Mesmer representation in ESL being relatively low.
I talked to Roy about this at the Pax Prime party and he acknowledged Mesmer has struggled. Fortunately they’ve listened to the stats and not the complaints this time and brought Mesmer up.

About the original post, for sPvP, dueling is not the strong suit of Mesmer in a higher end match. It’s actually too much of a liability with ganks. Much better to have a tanky/bruiser duelist who can survive ganks than a Mesmer. Mesmer does much better in smaller skirmishes and rotations with Portal. With Chrono, it looks like it will have a pretty strong team fight presence.

It’s possible Chrono does need to be toned down, but I would like everyone to understand that among the top players right now, Scrapper and Revenant are seen as even stronger than Chrono.
The way I like to put it is that the Mesmer base mechanics really exploit inexperienced players (which was mentioned in the original post). Mesmer is annoying, that’s what it’s supposed to be. However being annoying is mutually exclusive of being OP.
Once you understand Mesmer mechanics like being able to pick out which Mesmer is the real one, or counting cooldowns so you know when there are openings, the class becomes a lot less mysterious.
Also, there will always be professions that are better or worse than each other given any state of mmo balance; one class will always be on top. Maybe Mesmer is there or close this time? Is that really a bad thing? After years of struggling? The truth is, I’m along for the ride regardless, but people do need to chill out a bit with the complaining. Shift your complains over to Revenant, trust me the game will need it unless it gets nerfed before release.

That’s what it really comes down to though. Having these classes (and elite specs) in the right hands. This ties back into the fact that skill truly does come into it. Those with more skill, those who understand their class better, they’re going to shine and put other players, particularly new ones and your general scrubs, into their place.

Thus they run to the forum and instead of l2thread, continue to face smash their keyboard like they do their toons :)

Ahh, the wonders of unfounded accusations. Remember, you’ve got to recalibrate with the rest of the new classes too. Scrapper is far stronger than normal engie has been. Tempest has some incredibly strong things it can do, very painful. Revenant as a whole is really strong. Druid has crazy healing and control. Reaper in a lot of ways fixes some stuff that typically makes necros vulnerable and is very strong. Dh is meh, to be fair, along with daredevil and berserker…but seriously. Saying chrono is straight up broken is just embarrassing yourself Rylock.

Most of these threads are like a certain immunodeficiency viral infection, not gona name any names. Days may pass without anyone posting anything. Then all of a sudden, its back. Then everyone be like, well kitten.
