Hmm how would my Underworld emblem look?
“A man chooses; a slave obeys.” | “Want HardMode? Play Ranger!”
The champion loots are… still crap.
Tought fantasy games have a nice tradition to create re-skinned weapons for unique looking bosses. Maybe Arenanet didn’t hear’d about these O.o
“A man chooses; a slave obeys.” | “Want HardMode? Play Ranger!”
There should be shortcuts, yes. Like WWW players can get some ascended accessory kitteneaper by using honor badges. (witch one not really dropping for me -.-’)
Just make these kind of items optainable by continue playing in a non-grind form. Ty.

What about an Emblem Editor that allows us to combine 5 slots of a wide variety of pictogramm? You can make 5 crossed sword, or one of each crossing, or a quaggan in crown with 2 blade and a cup of beer.
It would make a great society improvement after a lot of programming hours.
“A man chooses; a slave obeys.” | “Want HardMode? Play Ranger!”
First, fix NPC movement. They spin on one spot, jeez!
Then smooth the curve of turning. These animals here are so intelligent and can turn only in fix degrees.
After all of this, yeah, would give some hunting fun if the non-predators & non-monsters don’t try to attack you – depending on the level you have.
Deers and other animals will try to attack you if they find surviving more possible by counterattacking. This only happens then the animals thinks you’re weaker and you can be defeated/scared off. They’re smarter than some people sometimes.
“A man chooses; a slave obeys.” | “Want HardMode? Play Ranger!”
People grind dungeons for gold & rares, not for armor sets. Those are fairly easy to get, except in insane buggy/overscaled dungeons as Arah or CM.
But anyway, we really need mutch more item to make properly customised characters.
“A man chooses; a slave obeys.” | “Want HardMode? Play Ranger!”
Color & Emblem change also in case of we want to show some kind of additional info just by looking on these. Another commander requested commander leveling.
That would be good if the commander emblem changes on these levels, and we can quick-check if the commander is good enough to lead small squads or whole battles.
“A man chooses; a slave obeys.” | “Want HardMode? Play Ranger!”
Yep. More prestige for good commanders like me ^^
In my perspective, it will help filling out the crap commanders who ruin overall performance & the new abilities are suggested long long LONG ago.
I’m with the OP.
“A man chooses; a slave obeys.” | “Want HardMode? Play Ranger!”
I have a Vitality/Toughness/Power warrior that has 29k+ HP in half exotic gear, and
DOES THE SAME DAMAGE AS MY BERZERKER AND FULL ASCENDED GEARED RANGER on DPS build.
My Ranger definetely needs more DMG or + ~3000 Health.
“A man chooses; a slave obeys.” | “Want HardMode? Play Ranger!”
Tryout peroid for items maybe?
“A man chooses; a slave obeys.” | “Want HardMode? Play Ranger!”
I also agree!
The game should have a big bunch of cool stuffs those optained by these kind of achievements. If there is 100 item to get and WWW gives you only 33 of your chose, the rest of 67 requires PVE and sPVP play.
“A man chooses; a slave obeys.” | “Want HardMode? Play Ranger!”
I support this.
No point to race-lock the cultural armors.
Daecollo is absolutely RIGHT.
“A man chooses; a slave obeys.” | “Want HardMode? Play Ranger!”
All pets should continue tracking and hitting Stealth targets without any “Sick’em” skill.
Why would we ruin our already ruined builds even more with a skill “that we must use”.?
Same problem was up with GW1 rangers, when we had to equip “Charm Animal” skill up to keep pets on our side. They fixed this issue in GW2, but also found out a new one…
“A man chooses; a slave obeys.” | “Want HardMode? Play Ranger!”
Hotfix request: For existing instrumental items (Flute, Horn, Music Box), and for those what comes in the future:
3 Bar control system:
- Lower Octave
- Higher/Mid Octave
- Pre-made GW2 tunes
It is good to play with these, but some just can’t enjoyable tunes.
Sometimes very annoying when someone tries to play something… we can turn its sound level down, but then, we don’t hear the ones who actualy play them good.
For this case, and for the atmosphear of the game, I suggest the pre-made tunes as we see at the SAB Music Box – for all the instruments.
P.s.: Still waiting for mutch more gem item that aims personal customization mentioned above.
“A man chooses; a slave obeys.” | “Want HardMode? Play Ranger!”
Well, it would worth some thinking what IF the pets can be ordered just as we control the Nanosuit in Crysis? With that wheel menu, its not complicated, and very fast to handle.
“A man chooses; a slave obeys.” | “Want HardMode? Play Ranger!”
I wouldn’t care about clipping so mutch… its a game, that can happen.
FPS loss? Slider for this feature.
And most important, Cloaks/Capes for NEW SLOT, not for backpack!
“A man chooses; a slave obeys.” | “Want HardMode? Play Ranger!”
5-10% speed buff wouldn’t hurt the game, but would benefit the Lore.
First round, give us the NPC-only town clothes…
“A man chooses; a slave obeys.” | “Want HardMode? Play Ranger!”
I’ve updated my Ranger Redesign work. (Link in first post)
There should be an offical state at upcomming reworks, like if they say now we’ll improve the quality of maps, then we’ll rebuild the cities, then making new skins…
- meanwhile these, we’re revamping dungeons -
“A man chooses; a slave obeys.” | “Want HardMode? Play Ranger!”
I’m still waiting for this kind of Fix… please!!
“A man chooses; a slave obeys.” | “Want HardMode? Play Ranger!”
Ultility
- Frost Spirit: Ice Djinn skin
- Stone Spirit: Stone Elemental like skin.
- Storm Spirit: Zapp skin
- Sun Spirit: Flame Djinn skinn
- Spirits should be eqippable as „armor layer” fusion with effects, buffs & condition – on useage lf secondary spell. This feature would be really awesome and lore-strong. Place the spirit for party support, or order to wield them for strenghtening your own buff
Elite
- Rangers should have norn’s transformation skills, meanwhile Norns should have stronger spirit signets instead.
- Spirit of Nature: user gains buffs until spirit dies.
Downed Skills
- Licking Wounds or Thundercap should have an additional ability to move rangers out of danger, with short distance.
PET
- AI improvement would be nice, but I think it would may work better without it…
- Reanimated for smooth curve movements
- Inmediate skill uses of orders, no delays
- Offensive Behavior: AutoAttack player target or else on order only. Continous animation.
- Defensive Behavior: Attack on order only, otherwise sharing incomming damage with user, maybe some chance to block.
Armor
The ranger is an adventurer profession and thus wears medium armor.
>> These ones should be good’old D&D style, not lame clothes or trenchcoats.
New Weapons
- Main-hand Pistol: Quick skirmishing weapon relying on movement, bleeding and stuns for quick kills. (Range: 800)
- Off-hand Pistol: Used to deal conditions and doing quick strike tricks. (Range: 800)
- Two-handed Crossbow: Medium ranged shooter with high damage and conditions. (Range: 1400)
Weapon skill changes
- GS Swoop: Dealing weak but ~10s bleeding condition on the way.
- LB Long Range Shot: Attack speed on closer targets are faster. Range: 1700, 1850 w/trait.
- LB Rapid Fire: Animation rework: Aim, then fire all arrows superfast within rest of time (Vindictus style)
- LB Hunter’s Shot: No Stealth, just; Fire a shot that strikes for more damage the less health your target has.
- LB Point Blank Shot: +Applies 5s Stealth.
- SB range: 1000, 1200 w/trait
- SB Poison Volley: Arrows bounce next to target.
- AXE Richochet should work like sword lock-on seen in current state.
- SWORD Slash may should be as free-move as GS.
Animation Changes
- Dodge becomes sliding instead of rolling
- ShortBow wielding is half-crouched
- GS Slash: Bit more Hack’n’Slash style

Be careful asking about the officals.
We had someone (R.H.) who tried to make Rangers and “living world” better.
Now hes gone.
Just keep working out reasonable suggestions.
“A man chooses; a slave obeys.” | “Want HardMode? Play Ranger!”
This “update” was a nerf mostly.
What funny was in the last invasions:
My character didn’t finished the “I chose you” shout before swapped pet died.
How great ^^ Anyway, today morning, it was 8 second for the pet to hit the target that was just standing by…
“A man chooses; a slave obeys.” | “Want HardMode? Play Ranger!”
Vote on Me!
I would like to handle this Honor.
“A man chooses; a slave obeys.” | “Want HardMode? Play Ranger!”
There you go:
1) Which one looks better as medium armor wearer: female norn or male silvary?
—> Its up to you. Norns have mutch better armor sets, but male silvary has a nice armor-like and colored skin with pathetic face & hair options, and an anonymus hood looks mutch better shape like in a human male.
2) Which class can i choose for my future norn char (if not hunter)?
—> They use it for warriors mostly, but guardian is same good. Try the looks of Necromancers, they can look real kitten.
3) Talking about racials… i finded “healing turret” really cool for pve; what about norn’s racials?
—> IMO Racial skills are very weak at Norns & Humans. Charrs and Asurans have the best I guess.
4) which class can i choose for my silvary (if not ranger)? maybe necromancer? or thief?
—> Anything you want. You can make nice looking combos. Necro, Thief, Guardian looks best.
“A man chooses; a slave obeys.” | “Want HardMode? Play Ranger!”
R.H. Leave’d… Can I take his place, please?
We need positive changes ASAP!
“A man chooses; a slave obeys.” | “Want HardMode? Play Ranger!”
Funny topic… We have a “Show off your ranger” one already. We can do this there…
Anyway, @ Chokolata:
Good gears, but not really unique, not even a well mixed one.
5/10
“A man chooses; a slave obeys.” | “Want HardMode? Play Ranger!”
Current range is acceptable, but would be more enjoyable with a little extension.
I want more damage & faster attacks.
“A man chooses; a slave obeys.” | “Want HardMode? Play Ranger!”
Problem is; I have no enough skill slots and trait points to use my pet better.
I won’t rely my life on a very stupid AI and not-really-working pet spells.
I’ve tried Rescue and Guard at Gig. Lupicus, and not worked.
There are serious issues with distance logics –
(& also with targeting…)
“A man chooses; a slave obeys.” | “Want HardMode? Play Ranger!”
Let’s see the facts:
- Character Generation options are very limited
- There is no scale-slider on hair, body parts, etc
- Pre-made options not really reflecting the race enough
- They have plastic/toy doll look
- The animations are boring
- Emote items and basic sound effects are missing
AION allowed us to make mutch more unique characters,
even if you don’t like the style of that game.
P.s.: I miss the wings!
“A man chooses; a slave obeys.” | “Want HardMode? Play Ranger!”
+1 I would like this update.
“A man chooses; a slave obeys.” | “Want HardMode? Play Ranger!”
Anyhow, it is a real challange to manage people while TAG On.
Now I’m leading people at Scarlet Briar’s invasion, and all I can do is to spam the chat with orders (that leads me silenced lol). Yes, people following me, and yes, people doing what I say – but how should lead proper tactics when I have no tools for it?
“A man chooses; a slave obeys.” | “Want HardMode? Play Ranger!”
All other game with minitransaction system sales good stuff for half the price as we have in GW2 – not to mention how very useless the items are.
If AN wants profit, they need to take mutch mutch more effort on the Gemstore…
“A man chooses; a slave obeys.” | “Want HardMode? Play Ranger!”
Would be a huge task to remake armors into mutch mutch more separated dye-able parts. We can be happy if they improve the existing ones to 4 different dye use…
And if Dyes would be accountbound, plus if there would by dyes with special effects or textures.
80% of the colors are no-use ugly, rest are the same by 50%.
“A man chooses; a slave obeys.” | “Want HardMode? Play Ranger!”
Would be very nice to customise our pets, but first;
- We need a working AI/mech,
- a Trait overhaul for better useage,
- and something that makes these pets adult – instead of being pathetic juveniles.
“A man chooses; a slave obeys.” | “Want HardMode? Play Ranger!”
I’ve purchased the 100g Commander tag, while it should be earned by some kind of achievement. As I’ve suggested before, this tag needs mutch more ability;
A lot of tactical draw in the map, better zerg management, and I don’t agree with sticking it to one character.
What if Victory requires me to use my Warrior instead of Ranger?
I’m not a grinder to buy it once more.
As WWW improves, AN cares about Commanders too.
Changes will come one day. Soon we hope…
“A man chooses; a slave obeys.” | “Want HardMode? Play Ranger!”
Looks like the first step has been made towards the WWW-PVE Cross Support System.
The new methood of these worldwide portal warfares – is the base of what the game needs to inspire people deffending our world. Of corse, its still far from perfection, but hey, it’s on the rails now!
“A man chooses; a slave obeys.” | “Want HardMode? Play Ranger!”
Exactly. Obsidian Armors will return when we can craft ASCENDED quality gear.
However, I’ve expected to use Mistyc Forge before.
Just please, make them real kitten
(I’m also waiting for other Assassin to Medium Armor conversion. Craft/Gamestore, I don’t care.)
“A man chooses; a slave obeys.” | “Want HardMode? Play Ranger!”
Let’s make some sense.
“Not worth the effort to make capes”
=
Not worth the effort to make anything people like, because they said to be difficult (no, they are not.)
Conclusion: Its not worth to make a game that players like – at all?
“A man chooses; a slave obeys.” | “Want HardMode? Play Ranger!”
Hela! [iR] stands for iRevolution.eu, witch is my page, and I do my works by the name of it. (stuffs are under construction there). It is a prefix for easy-search.
I’ve tried once to publish all my works in one topic, but that did not worked.
A moderator asked me to make separate topics – so I made it like this.
More separation wouldn’t been bad, but would be harder to track.
Currently I’m testing the other professions, while my main stays Ranger, and thats what I’ve played by 95% in the last year. I can’t really focus on mutch more, but as something interesting idea goes through my mind, I’ll post it.
“A man chooses; a slave obeys.” | “Want HardMode? Play Ranger!”
We have juvenile pets. As good as blind condition: They absorb the first damage, then die. Whats the real simple way to make them working? Don’t use them as damage, use them for buffs/conditions and special benefits. This is the most awesome way I know of…
“A man chooses; a slave obeys.” | “Want HardMode? Play Ranger!”
Yes, this skill is weak, as nearly everything else. We’re waiting for the buffs…
“A man chooses; a slave obeys.” | “Want HardMode? Play Ranger!”
OP is a TROLL, but if someone wants to be a dinamical fighter that moves with agility, I see no problem allowing them. (I want the same, lol
That Legolas guy designed real good. He is awesome, but also realistic.
Real people can do the same. Sometimes more. So you say a fantasy game needs “old fart rangers up in the mountain” with a goat stick? I hope arenanet will catch you and make your characters like this – for fun. G’night, Troll. Nao Moar Fuud tonight. <3
“A man chooses; a slave obeys.” | “Want HardMode? Play Ranger!”
Found a little memo-paper in my backpack:
- Back items, capes, helmets, costumes & town clothes need the same option as back in GW1: Always Show / Always Hide / Show only in cities-outposts
- Emotes needs models as we saw in AION
“A man chooses; a slave obeys.” | “Want HardMode? Play Ranger!”
After digging’ in Lore and spent 2 days for new suggestions, I’ve realised that the purchaseable lore stuffs are very limited. So a little update would be nice:
Karma Merchants
- Asura: Selling nice technical gadgets, such as special buffs (skill effects) and ultility tools.
- Human: Culture foods are good, but some special buff/item about the belief of gods
- Norn: with connection to the ancient animal spirits and nomad lifestyle
- Sylvari: something about the Mother Tree’s blessing, or nature buffs.
- Charr: Battle-born technology, such as flamethrower, equippable rifle/nade/weapons, cloak, special buffs, etc-
Explained: A new kind of buffs as “tool” nurnishment, witch gives effect of a skill, or just special use items. These can reinforce the lore by a big shot.
When you wander around in other race territorries, you should be able to get your dirty little hands on their technology. Even if its a norn tent, or an asuran tech tootbrush.
The other thing I wanted to mention is about the kind of events these races have.
They’re all the kitten same! And its real bad. When an Asuran doing something, you can bet on things will blow up and monsters will be teleported there, then fight them until the npc don’t fixing it. Boooooriiing! All the races doing their same event copies.
It wouldn’t be hard to let us LEARN from them, and having deeper peak to their every day.
“A man chooses; a slave obeys.” | “Want HardMode? Play Ranger!”
Haha lol… Not if the capes has multiple meshes and textures.
Arenanet needs to make a lot of variation (normal, scrapped, silk, worn, fur, half-fur, | full, half, etc etc), and dye-able.
Lot of work, but possible, and thats something we’ll be happy for a month.
“A man chooses; a slave obeys.” | “Want HardMode? Play Ranger!”
After account Wallet, this is something we’re really looking forward to.
+1k by the name of Hungarian GW2 players.
(if any1 cares about “Oh kitten I’ve bought Abyss for my other characters too, now its a waste?!”: No. You’ve bought a ’year to use it. Any dye you unlock from now, free to use on any of your character. be happy!)
“A man chooses; a slave obeys.” | “Want HardMode? Play Ranger!”
