Another one of these? If you go to the dungeon forum there are at least 5 of these threads on the first 2 pages.
I assume you mean the other players were 80 and did not like playing in a dungeon with a appropriate level player. It is stupid I have never had a problem in a dungeaon at the appropriate level and they do not seem any faster slower, but bad playes are only able to do them at 80 and cry when they can’t fill thier groups with 80’s.
So which server would you like to face instead of the one you are facing now?

And this supposition is based on…? There’s a lot of speculation in here, and a lot of it just nonsense. Nobody can truly know how well ET and Ferg would do against one of the T7 servers. Could be good, could be bad, but the idea that it would be a complete wash in a T7 server’s direction is simply unfounded. If you want a good read on T7 vs T8 history, look at Detharos’ posts in the SF v FC vs ET threads. He breaks it down far better than I could ever hope to do, and, no, it’s not nearly as one-sided as many of you think it would be.
It’s more of an educated guess. Trust me I know how you feel, we in TC have been up against a wall for weeks. The difference is we enjoy the battles and worry less about the scores. No matter what we just keep going. We know eventually we will settle into where we belong.
I actually like it the way it is. If you want more abilities you can just switch to a new weapon/s. I was getting sick of trying to manage 10+ skill rotations in some other games, I really like the simplicity of this setup in GW2. I think having more skills would lead to having to min/max certain rotations like in other games. Geez in Rift I had a 13 skill rotation to get max dps, I am past those days. This game is so much more relaxing.
The problem with Anet patch isn’t patch itself But patch notes.
People are more curious about what patch will actually bring rather then patch going live itself.
Anet doesn’t release patch notes untill patch is aviable via download thats why there are so many questions about patch.
The only thing I don’t understand is why to keep patch notes a secret.
Blizzard for exmaple releases patch notes for further patches ( even those 2-3 months away ) as soon as they get an Idea to implement something.
So In case of blizzard You know patch notes, and stuff that will come with them LONG before patch will go live.
And thats a problem in this case.
The problem is GW2 does not have a PTS, so there is no reason to release the patch notes before patch day. The only reason to release early would be so they can be tested on the test server.

Yes, but you have too remeber there is WvW in this game. Making it too easy to transfer really screws with that. I could see making it super cheap or free to move to a lower pop server, but make the high pop servers rediulously expensive to stop bandwagoners from jumping to the top.
If anything it is too cheap to transfer to high pop servers. They should have made it like $50.
I just did Honor of the Waves story mode and at the end I did not receive the message to invite me to the explorable mode of the dungeon.
I was playing on the European servers with some guys from an other server.
I have already tried to receive the mail by deleting some mails from my mailbox but it didn’t help

Personally I would just use greens for levleing. I just picked up the best I could about every 10 levles, get strong gear and put all of your points in the precision tree. Take the trait that gives you 40 precision per signet and run all sigents an your utility slots.
You will be able to facetank and melt everthing. I just got my warrior to 80 yesterday and it was by far the easiest fastest to level.
Just buy the cheapest green gear on the TP, it is super cheap if you buy greens, usually just above vendoring price like < 2 silver, you will be replacing this gear regularly and it does not make sense to pay a lot for it. If you want to make it that will help you level faster by crafting. The names of the items are just different looks, just look for power\precision for stats on items. A/A and GS are good for leveling, You may also want a ranged weapon on hand (Rifle for single target and longbow for a bit of AoE)

I think this the end of upgraded towers/keeps, at least on the lower tiers. There is a reason why we’re in the lower tiers. We lack players and can’t provide 24 hour coverage. You can tell us “scouting” or “defending” all you want. We just don’t have the players for it.
At least with the orange swords the few people on the maps late at night have a chance to arrive in time to defend. Without the swords the towers and keeps will suddenly flip colors and nobody will notice until it’s too late. People aren’t going to pay for upgrades daily when that’s going on.
If anything this is just going to encourage smaller guilds to go zerging on their own.
I could see this even on the higher tiers as well. I will not be upgrading something I think could be ninja’d by 25 ppl as soon as we leave. Even in T2 we do not have enough ppl at all hours to watch every keep/tower. I guess this will be more a no upgraded towers, usually there are a few ppl in a keep to defend/warn at most times, but even when warned a 25 man crew can get through a reinforced doors in a pretty short time with golems.
And no, nobody is saying a lvl 80 is a bad player just for the level, we are saying THOSE who ask for a group of only 80s for low level dungeons are unskilled and bad players.
Well what you are saying is wrong.
Those that ask for a group of only 80s want to get through the dungeon quickly with the least amount of problems.
Rarely does this make much of a difference. A bad group is a bad group reguardless of level.

I got one in WvW 2 weeks ago and since nothing.
So sick of raiding for top tier gear. Too many years of it and it gets old. I don’t care if there are raids in a game for those that want to do them but I do not want to raid anymore and I really do not want to raid for top tier gear. Farming raids gets so old, especially because ppl get sick of it and you have to replace someone every week and teach a new person the fights.
I got this game because there were no raids for top tier gear. I spent to many years in the gear treadmill raiding. The idea of having to do that again makes me kringe.
I know there are a lot of people out there that really like to raid and I would be fine with raids in this game if you did not have to grind them for gear.
I also see a lot of ppl talking about guild missions, I hope they do it like TERA did. You would get a guild quest and go out and do it for guild points. Unfortunately it was kill x monsters or gather x things. If GW2 could make them more dynamic and create like a mission where you would go out and do an instanced DE with you guild mates that would really be fun, maybe not as hard as a raid but maybe like a Grenth type difficulty.

The no sympathy policy is in effect for people who like to switch to alts.
I have no problem with it but don’t do it at >20%, especially if you are in a PuG.
You left when the boss was at 40%, I would have kicked you too. You are worthless on a low level alt and you expect the rest of them to carry you through half the boss fight.
Next time wait until <20%
Why would you want to discourage large scale combat in a large scale zone. If WvW was meant to be 5v5 or 10 v 10 why did they cap the zones at 100 or so each server per map
Don’t get me wrong I like the small scale battles as well, but the zerg is part of the fun. You have to be aware and use scouts more effectively if you are in a small group to avoid the zerg when trying to take camps.

I expect a lot of flak from the top 2 tiers, just look at the post above me. I don’t like sPvP and wasn’t trying to say zerging is bad. I’m saying if anet wants WvW to be played by more than 6 servers on the US side they are going to resolve the 60v20 fights we see in tier 3. If you bust the zergs up in the upper tiers are you guys just afraid of how bad you might actually be at fighting?
We are outnumbered more often than not on TC. If you are good you can take out a zerg bigger than you and stay competetive with good fights. If they are going to do anything just fix the outmanned buff to give a small advantage. Why punish ppl for running in a big group if they can?
I know lets put everyone on a small map with a few other ppl and let them battle it out by capping objectives. oh wait…
If you don’t like zerg v zerg there is a thing called spvp you can play.
I have an 80 Guardian/Mesmer/Elementalist/Necro and a 20 warrior. I don’t think I get more bags with any one of them. I get less bags with my Guard just because I am not that good with him as I play him the least. But last night with my warrior I was able to pick up 25 badges in about 2 hours and full bags. That is about average for a weeknight for me. I think it is more how you play than what class you use.
- Dodge: I just go to a Veteran and hope while I am doing my dodge’s know one show’s up to help " Kill " it while I am trying to do my daily. (It has happen to me once; but really I never told anyone to kitten off )
- Healer : I just go to area’s on the map where NPC’s are always dead & respond within min’s. ( I did find that sometime’s when I was healing a NPC it didn’t count; not sure if it was a glitch or not )
I think it is a bug because I find that only about half of my rezzes count, I also get a lot of misses for instead of evades for dodger which does not count.

That is the progression you see. I think we need to give this a month to see where everyone goes now that transfers are over. If it is still the same way then maybe Anet needs to look into it, but what you are suggesting will be worse.
You propose a no less then a month of curb stomps and bad matches and gawk at a loser up – winner down system that would not give more then a week of a bad match up to any server.
Really, this is what comes to defend the Glicko system, this is what comes to champion a system that has curb-stomps that have lasted a month straight.

Every week would be an even worse curb stomp with your system. With very few exceptions. I am defenitely not assuming, TC was stomping T3 for how long agains FA/YB for how many weeks?
Why is TPing around a big deal? I do it regularly anyway, no one else does? You all just play in one zone all the time?
I am sure you fought your best, but the truth is, TC was doing progressively worse against SR, with each passing week. That is the irrefutable fact here.
And I don’t mean to be rude by this, as I am sure it makes for great table talk, The theory behind “why” you were doing worse, is just window dressing. The only thing that matters really is that you were doing worse, as each week went by that you were trapped in a curb-stomp matchup.
The other truth is, it’s a malfunctioning or just out-rightly bad system that would put you into a curb-stomp for 3 weeks straight.

Well, the numbers show you you went from 176 to 111, that’s a 65K drop on your 3rd week losing against SR, compared to a 10K drop from your second week losing.
I personally wound’t be patting myself on the back over that kind of drop in numbers, but that is just me.
However, you’re the lucky one’s. Your tier changed thank to kaineng’s move up.
Tier 7, Darkhaven has been winning and gate of madness and HedgeD have been progressively doing worse each passing week, and it’s been going a month now for them.
That is not the fault of the worlds, the players, or their efforts, that is the fault of a system that is LOCKING teams against each other in dead end losing situations.
That system needs to go away.

which is kitten.dailies should be like an “event chain”, “mini quest”. not some random choirs.

You are so wrong on so many levels. TC /SBI did not give up, there were massive server transfers that gave SoR a huge advantage. SBI lost most of thier server to transfers. And TC gained a few/lost a few.

I am not sure why when you get lucky enough to get the troll you would not run it to Kohler and let them fight it out.
Either way I hear what you are syaing and agree it is stupid, I could see if you ran in and got 1 shot immediately you get nothing, but if you participated in the whole fight you should get credit regardless whether you are dead when the boss dies. I usually take the time with a boss at 10% to go around and res ppl so they get credit or get to them while they are downed, to make it easier.
I was watching a guy train wolves on villagers walking the path’s in queensdale…. guess they were not getting killed fast enough for him so he was dragging the local animals down to the path’s to get the NPC’s killed faster…..

yeah i do leave npcs to die so i get that healer daily.you can go for hours without seeing dead people in some regions. or maybe 1 once in a while, but you need 10!
so i always tp to the same place, get my “daily run done” and then can start enjoying the game at my own pace again.
Lol how do you go for hours without seeing a dead npc. There are so many places in this game where they are everywhere just randomly, not even during an event.
I agree, we should each have our own conditions on enemies if that makes sense. Maybe only make this happen in dungeons/fracs and have a cap in openworld. It would be way OP in openworld bosses as there would be so many stacks in those fights the enemies would just melt in seconds. But in a dungeon there is only 5 of you so it would still be fine I think. I know it sux if there is more than 2 cond builds in a dung.
Then I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong if you’re just playing the game and having gold.
I play WvW a few hours a day and get nothing. Repair fees only, and if I’m lucky I break even.
Superior runes 6/6 is usually the kicker. Builds are reliant on those expensive 6/6 rune bonus.
I play wvw 3 times a week at least, for about 2-4 hours a time. At the end of the night I sometimes come out with 1-2g and sometimes just a few silver. I agree wvw needs some tuning as far as making money. I do find it is easy to supplement with a few dungeon runs though for a few g, I enjoy dungeons though.
The superior runes can be expensive but you could possibly come close to what you would get with 4/2 major runes. This would be a cheap way to test something out before you spend a fortune on exo gear. This is what I do when I want to test. If it does not work out I can always just salvage the lvl 80- rares for globs and most times I get the runes back. I can sell all of that to get something back.

Blackgate – 231
Kaineng – 192
Tarnished Coast – 140That is near a 40K difference between 1st and 2nd, and a 90K Difference between Blackgate and Tarnished Coast.
This has been a great matchup for me on Tarnished Coast. Great fights everywhere I turn. I would much rather play in a tier where I have competitive battles and lose the final score than to play in a tier where the final scores were nearly even, but the battles were PvDoor because of timezone differences or whatever.
I’d also rather face the 4th and 5th best servers, if I’m number 6, than the 8th and 10th.
I understand that other servers may not be as satisfied as I am, so I don’t presume to speak for you. But, judging by out community forum, a lot of people on TC are energized about the current matchup and look forward to in continuing.
Also, I think Kaineng and Blackgate very much enjoy the cookies we serve at our yakwalks.

I don’t really care about the final score as long as the battles are fun. We don’t lose for lack of skill but because of coverage differences. All of the battles we have had this week have been fun and engaging. It would not be fun at all switching with FA and end up dominating a tier for a week and then moving back up. Yeah it would be nice to win but in a tight match but there is no real way to even that out as long as they allow nightcapping. Which I don’t have a problem with. I have accepted that that is how it is and just try to have fun.
You don’t need exoctics to try out a new build. Just buy rares for a 10th of the price. The difference is minimal, maybe 10%.
If ppl are letting others die to get thier daily done they are kitten Seriously there is no need. Only a horribad would do this. It would actually take longer this way then to find NPC’s in any one of the many many places there are a lot of NPC’s dead. LOL at that
Lol, I do not get all the problems with the dodger and healer dailies. They literally will be completed while playing, at least the dodger. The healer can be completed in 10 minutes just about anywhere in Ascalon.
There are dead NPC’s everywhere. You can also make a lot of money on the TP by gathering certain nodes there. You can get 2 parts of your daily done in about 15 mins, more than likely you can get your dodger also. Lol, these dailies could not get any easier, unless they just have you log in to get it.
I have never had anyone say anything to me about helping them kill something, but I have got the riot act for killing mobs that were killing NPC’s. I wanted to chase those guys around for the rest of the night killing every mob that they pulled into NPC’s for being kitten about it, but I’m not 5 years old. So I left them be. Be curtious about things like that and most people will just move on.

He wants to bandwagon. FA obviously does not have the coverage that a T1 server has. Other than that I am not sure what the big diff would be.
I am not sure why this is a big deal if a person switches at 5% or even 10%, it isnt really going to make a difference unless the person that switched was carrying everyone else.
The OP said 80% I think, I would just stand there and watch the person that did this at 80% die and then kick them so they have to pay for repairs.
This happens in all keeps during huge battles. I have seen this happen in Garrison, Hills, Bay, and SM. It has been substantially worse since patch though. I hate when I hit a skill and the skill just blinks for like 10 seconds, if I live that long with no skills lol.

I am very frustrated because I cant go to dungeons.
I did only first dungeon at lvl30 that was very hard and wiping in first corner so I give up.
And trid some fractals but Im on lvl1.
I played WoW 3 years and did raid instances and I loved it but gw2 pve a ……..
Lol, you tried it once and gave up. Man, you gotta give it a little more than that. The dungeons are a lot different in this game than others, you are more responsible for yourself because of no trinity and that takes some getting used too. Give it a few more tries and you will figure it out.
I tried this and gave up. I would try to get to about lvl 20 before going in just for the sake of sanity. Under level 20 you are severly gimped in WvW. It is exhaustingly slow as well, at least 5x slower.
What I did was leveled to 20 > WvW to about 40> crafted to 60 > WvW/dungeons to 80.
You get a very small amount of exp for capping objectives so the best time is on reset night where you will probably be doing a lot of capping. If I was lucky I was able to get a level in a 2-4 hour run in WvW after level 60, before that it is even slower. I never brought a low level in on reset night because I wanted to use one of my 80’s for guild pushes.
If you do this make sure your gear is always up to date, this will ensure you are getting the most out of your upleveling.
To put it in perspective, I leveled my first 80 in a week doing nothing but hearts and DE’s. It took me near 2.5 weeks to level an alt the way i described above, and that is with cheating about 20 levels with crafting.

Nothing is worse than an MMO company making huge sweeping changes all at once and in the process wrecking one class and making another OP. I like the baby steps.
I play an 80 necro/guard/elem/mesmer and I think they are quite balanced. I know eng and ranger need some fixing up but why make big changes all at once and chance breaking something else like all other mmo companies do.

If you are a mesmer using MH sword skill 2 will get you your daily really fast.

Anyway, I would love to see video of a group finishing Arah p4 without a death, CoE without a death, esp p3 with the rediculous lava boss, CM p2. All of you so called pros pony up and lets see.
What does not make sense to me is the huge difference in difficulty instead of a progression of difficulty. The dungeons are all over the place.
I agree with revamp and just create a progression instead of a wall. AC is super easy, then you get to CM and p1 isn’t too bad but p2 is rediculous then p3 is ok to a point. Then you jump way ahead to a near endgame dungeon, CoF, super easy. How does that make sense.
Make the dungeons difficult but creat a steady progression or make them all the same difficulty.
As our artists have also said in interviews that one of the purposes of concept art is that it is a way to convey mood to a viewer and to serve as inspiration for designers. Concept art is not necessarily a blueprint to follow by rote. There is stuff in the game that looks like the concept art, but just because something is depicted in the concept art doesn’t necessarily follow that it will make it into the game.

This would not work because the casuals would cry that they cannot complete the hardmode dungeons for better loot. This has happened everytime a hardmode and casual mode dungeons have been implemented with different loot.
The only way this would be feasable is if the loot was the same. But then no one would do hardmodes.
You need to have someone tap your siege every 25 mins so it does not despawn.
Like Orikx said, getting seige capped by no means of your own sux.

If you are referring to me semi agreeing, I wasn’t aware this was at thier spawn. If that is the case then who cares. It is no different then them running to thier camp from spawn after dying. Or standing on the cliff and firing down.

They’ve known about it since week 2 of game release. Dungeons have no level restrictions, only recommended levels. Back in the days, you could get a toon from lvl 2 to 20-25 in 1 cof run. Now they’ve scaled it to 70% of your bar no matter what level you are. If it was an exploit, they shouldve/wouldve removed it a long time ago. Either that, or they really suck at coding and havent figured out how to change it.
