Hi all,
Queues are per map, per team – so there is a queue for TC players on the Eternal Battlegrounds and a different queue for TC players on each Borderlands, and a different queue for each of the other teams on each of the maps.
During the time it takes for players to change maps it is possible for there to be a queue even if there are less players in a map than the maximum capacity because the players taking up those empty slots are still “in flight” between maps. It’s also possible for a slot to take a while to fill if e.g. people see the queue pop, wait until the progress bar for the automatic transfer is almost empty, and then choose to renter the queue. At that point the system will move on and look for other players to fill that slot but all of that takes a bit of time. We’ve watched the queue numbers a lot and generally it’s only a few slots that are in this reserved state at any time.
Just to be sure I ran a quick database query for the last few days and all the queue numbers look quite reasonable.
So I don’t know where in the map those players are when you’re looking for them, but they’re definitely in there somewhere!
This is not what I am experiencing. Can you give us an update as to whether this is an issue you guys are working on so we can stop speculating about what the problem is. Even just a simple we are aware of a problem and are working on it or a working as intended.
I have looked for the players that are missing, they are not there. I have done a press 1 in map chat if you are on this map and with a 20 min queue I had and others I know of were waiting, I got 22 responses. I have a hard time beleiving that the other 144 ppl on the map were afk or just disregarding my request as I explained why I was doing it.
If you stack on top of him he is faceroll.
You are crying about blues? I have been getting whites from chests now and then. Not sure why there would be whites in a chest, doesn’t really seem like treasure to me, feels more like someone threw thier old junk in the chest.
Im on SOS, here in Tier 1, most of our ques are less than 10 mins. Ive noticed most of the people complaining are also only queing for EB, which can have longer que times during peek times—- give your borderlands a try. Still having problems? Then your server is probably overly populated. Give another server a try.
That’s mean only one: GW2 engine is sucks, Arena servers really weak.
Every server have several thousands population and only 50 players limit per WWW-map.
Do you still think the problem is in server population?If you have 10-min queues – you are playing not in the server primetime or you are playing at the PVE-girls server full of carebears, lol.
In defence of me im not’s post I happen to know that the T1 servers have no primetime, they have coverage almost 24/7, so I guess it is always prime time.
This only goes to show how screwed up things are. SoS having short queues and no numbers problems with numerous other servers reporting the complete opposite.
when i logged into our BL where we only owned 1 tower today, i found only like 20 people there and around 40+invaders from other servers id say 20 TC and around 25 BG. how are we suppose to counter 2 servers attacking while most of us were stuck in Q and only 20 defenders in and maybe a few standing at spawn? We didnt get any transfers from last week and Q’s were pretty fine and once we were in we would see way higher numbers. And I agree fights arent fair if the other server only gets half their people in while 2 servers attack with way higher numbers. I do enjoy this matchup, but would like to enjoy it with all our guildmembers.
I don’t know what BL you were on but based on what you just said I wonder if the queue is screwed up to be serverwide across all maps??? Last night we had about 30-35 total on our map at one point, FA had at least 50-60+. I wonder if it is set up now that you can only have 166 across all maps or something instead of the 500 per map it used to be it is now 500 across all maps. that is what it is starting to seem like to me. And you are not in the queue for the map, everybody is put in a big queue pool, you are queued for the map you want but are in a queue with every one from all maps. When there are more than 500 ppl queued you wait even though the map you queued for is no where near full.
I am not expalining this well and it is pure speculation, but it makes one think. hmmm

We never do EB. and we had a queue on every BL last night. When we got in there was a total of 30-35 of us on the map. Where are the other 130 players?

Well, obviously.
What people are reporting is there’s lower capacity on the maps. On the weekend I sat in queue for 2 hours twice and got in on a map that had only 40 players MAX on it and we were being spawn camped by a force double us.

Is what we are experiencing as well. It is getting tiresome getting on to a map for a guild push and being outmanned 2 or 3 to 1 and having a queue. It also sux when it is happening the opposite. No one wants an unfair advantage because of a bug. It really makes the scores this week meaningless.
T2 is extremely competetive thsi week and who knows if it just beacuse we are all about the same level or because of the bug. We are having some great fights when we get lucky and everyone seems to have about the same amount on each side, but when it is severly skewed one way or the other it is just a ROFLSTOMP for some servers.
With CoF p1 farm (people making 50-100g in a day), currency is being a bit inflated thats why the price is going up.

They weren’t perfect because the fractal requirement restricted it to lvl 80’s geared enough to do fractals, meaning any newish player who didn’t play 15 hours a day wasn’t going to get the monthly done for a couple months in a row.
Fractals 1-9 are easy as cake and can be pretty much done with characters of any level and any quality of gear. The belief that you somehow need a level 80 geared out in exotics to do fractals (or any explorable dungeons, for that matter) is completely bogus.
Me and my friends have three-manned fractals on our level 20-40~ alts.
So I know this is in matter of fact and personal experience.
Yea, I am not a huge fan of fractals but they are fun enough. Our guild would just do a frac 1 and 2 run once a month, it took about an hour to complete. Boom 7 fractals done. I agree you could take any level in frac 1-5 easily, they are upleveled to 80 and they are sooooo easy.
When A-Net eventually find the problem and fix it, maybe they should reset the WvW rankings again, coz utill they do fix it the scores are meaningless in my opinion. Hardly a fair score when some servers are having to fight outmanned all the time because of a dumb bug. I know they wont and Im not totally serious but I do think the scores arnt gonna reflect Jack S*** because of this mess!!
This^^^ It is absolutely rediculous. The scores are worthless. One night you may be able to get your entire guild group in and have 50-60 on the map and the other server was only able to get maybe 20-30 ppl on thier server with a queue. The fights are not fair at the moment because of this. We are still having fun but I can’t see how they could go without resetting the ranks because of this.

People are still not getting it or they are illiterate.
The problem isn’t even the fact that each side may have only 20-30 ppl, it is the fact that it is imbalanced.
Last night we did our guild push, we all queue for a BL because they all had a queue. We are all in mumble ansd queue up. Some get in within 20 mins, some ppl that queued before me were waitin 1.5 hours to get in and I got in after about .5 hours.
How do they queue before me and have to wait 3 times as long????
We got about 1/3 of our guild in and there was another small group it equaled total about 30 of us. We had a stand off in hills, we counted about 50-60 from one guild on the other side plus some pugs so a total of about 70+. THIS IS THE PROBLEM! We were outmanned because thier queue system is broken. I am sure this has happened the other way around as well. How can we be ranked properly if one server has more than the other and we have a queue. I could see if we were simply outmanned, but we had a queue and the other team had more on the map than us.
Fix this nao anet.

I finished it yesterday too. It is easy. I didn’t have a chance to look but I must have received 12 laurels for it. cuz I have 17 laurels and I have only completed 5 dailies.

It sounds like he did his job a trolled 8 of you for an hour LOL. As soon as they stealth you just run away and forget about them. They are cowards and do not deserve my time.

I do think Anet will consider this an exploit. I can’t imagine that this is working as intended. But I am not sure how they would stop/control this.
The queue bug doesn’t seem to affect all three servers in a match equally, so no matter how you stand on small or large scale fights it’ll have to be fixed.

Okay the long queues suck but people should get over it and just try to do their best rather than complain.
People are complaining that their whole guild can’t join in, does that mean that your server is only dependent on a number of guilds??? It just shows how weak and divided your server community is. A really GOOD server can do well in wvwvw regardless of random players from different guilds. I played wvwvw a while ago with not even one of my guild mates since they’re in a different borderland but regardless we were able to secure the whole map for our world and that’s only with 2 commanders coordinating with RANDOM players… If your world is really good then unity and coordination is what is needed to be victorious and not be dependent on your guild mates. So get over it and just hope that ANet will solve this long queues.P.S. most of the people during the siege were not even on TS so it really just depends on cooperation and unity… Also i’m from Jade Quarry
Oh and as far as coordianting randoms. a few of us coordinated Pugs most of the day Saturday and were able to take back almost all of our BL.
This is not a coordination problem either. THIS IS A ANET QUE KITTEN PROBLEM!
people who are saying this is related to how heavily a server was bandwagoned to have no idea what they are talking about sadly: that dragonbrand has a queue is proof of this…
if it were limited to some of the more heavily bandwagoned servers like JQ, SOR, or SOS (which had queues before the recent transfer frenzy) then that would be one thing, but servers who got only a few transfers (BG, FA) and servers that got none or lost people are having queue peoblems as well (TC, Dragonbrand, etc)
I have never seen a queue on Saturday morning at 9am CST until this weekend. It is not so much the queue’s as the fact that there are not enogh ppl on the BL to have a queue. I am sure BG and FA are also seeing this unfair fights with having a queue for a bl and being outmanned 2-4 to 1 when you finally get in.. That is what the issue is. I am not sure what is causing it but I have noticed that when ppl log out while in a group in WvW thier dots reamin for a long period of time afterwords. There are some reports of ppl logging in the next day and still being in a group with others that are not logged in and seeing thier dots on the map still.
Sort of related… Id like to see the wvw JP expanded and turned into 160 man 3 way brawl overflow zone for those waiting to get into wvw.

You are not understanding the problem that is going on with the queues. It is not just that they are long or that some wait longer than others that joined later. It is the fact that there seems to be no real rhyme or reason to the queues. There have been numerous since the reset that there has been a queue with like 30-40 players on my server. An enemy server group comes in and has 2 to 3 times the players we have total. So the fights are unfair. It seems one server may be able to get more people in the map than another to me. It does not make sense that we can have a queue and maybe be able to field 20 ppl to hit a tower/keep and we run into numerous zergs of the enemy that have 30-40 ppl in them.
And I have check this weekend. I am not able to find other ppl anywhere. Maybe a few in a tower defending and 1 or 2 running around but it deos not make up for the discrepency in every BL.
If you are only level 60 you should try running story modes until you hit 80. Most exp dungeons are not tuned to do at an appropriate level. I tried an AC exp run with all 35-40’s and we finished but it was a long drawn out ordeal, not sure why they let you in at anything below 80. They should just change the exp dung to 80 only. If you run all the story mode dungeons up to your level you will get your monthly.
Try running AC or CoF, CM needs tuning for sure, more for the trash and not so much for the bosses. You picked a bad dungeon to start with.
The monthly is extremely easy to finish, I will have mine done today;)
I have to go out of my way to get those res done. My daily dungeon runs for sure do NOT provide me with the means, maybe because my groups don’t need rezes that often?
I didn’t do the dailies before the path either because I had to get out of my way to collect mats and it was a bore. As it stands, I find the GW2 daily to be all work and not fun and the new tasks don’t help.
If you only run CoF p1 you are going to have problems with the rez daily.

I dont even know how to repond to this OP.
I wish they would just remove the JP’s from WvW. It takes up valuable spots for ppl that could actually be doing something useful.

If all you do is PvE and don’t like the dungeons you are missing out on 3/4 of the game. I didn’t think I would like WvW at first but now it is where Ispend most of my time, I would give it a shot for a couple weeks to get into it, at first it is overwhelming but after a while it is a ton of fun.
Have you completed all SM dung and all of the Explorables? Have you found and completed all of the JP’s? Do you have all your crafing profs to 400 or just 2? Have you run fractals to 20+? I have never played a game where there is so much to do that does not require grinding.
I get mine in any dung or fractal run now. After the WP change it is basically required. If you want to be sure to get it run CoE or Arah exp, also CM is a good place you will defenitely get your daily rezzes.
Had a 3v8 the other day where people were culling.
Maybe Arena Net are planning to add Ascended infusions to WvW?

The current issue with culling isn’t worse. It’s a LOT better.
And I’ll gladly explain to you why:Previously there was a set number of players that could appear on your screen. This set of numbers included both allies AND enemies; meaning that if you were in a large group of allies, you’d be facing more invisible enemies unless you suddenly moved too far into the enemy zerg. This was annoying as you couldn’t even see the enemy.
What we now have is that there is still a set numbers of players that can be visible on your screen; however enemies and allies now each have a seperate pool. This effectively means that regardless of how many allies are around you, it won’t interfere with how you perceive your enemy (either temp char model, actual char model or invisible during large zergs)
This means that although you won’t see their entire zerg, or your own.. You’ll at least be able to tell you’re running into a group of enemies. Allies can easily be recognized on the minimap; both alive, and dead ones. The only issue right now is; how big is that enemy zerg really?
Yes that is still a significant piece of information. But at least now you’re not running in like a blind chicken anymore. You’ll actually be able to see SOME enemies. Whether or not you’re willing to stay and fight is now fully up to you – Are you willing to risk there being a partially zerg? Or will you try to think something through before running in like a headless chicken?
This is not the case, culling is way worse. Before I at least knew what to expect, I never was dead for 1 minute before I even saw who killed me. Now on numerous occasions we will be fighting 3-4 and suddenly dead, I wonder how these 3 killed us so fast and look around after I am dead only to see enemies appearing a couple at a time for the next minute until there are 50+ on the screen and all I see are blue dead icons everywhere and evryone in chat/mumble saying wtflol.
We started trying to be more weary and wait to see if there are more than we think before running in, we a8 a few minutes trying to guage and we are dead before we have a chance to see who is there. This is just tkittened. NEVER had this problem before this week.
Threads like this make little sense. Half the servers have 0 queue time and this game had free transfers for months. Your guild can’t get into WvW and Arenanet is to blame?
No, the issue is #1. they either lowered how many players can be on the map and or #2. there’s a bug reducing the amount of players you can have.
Like, literally over the weekend I’ve sat in queues for multiple hours (which hasn’t happened since the game came out when I was on HoD) only to get in maps where it feels like we have 30 players.

This was my experience as well on all servers this weekend. I get into the map finally, which some in my guild were waiting for an hour to get in. Maybe 30-40 max people in the map. I don’t think they lowered the map cap, as we were outnumbered 2-3 to 1 the whole time and we had a queue.
Also Sat morning after waiting in a queue for 20 mins I get to the map and do a press 1 in map chat if you are on this map and explained to everyone that I was going to keep track of numbers to send to support, I got 22 responses. Sigh

This needs to be fixed NOW! We are outmanned 4 to 1 on our BL right now and we have an hour and a half queue.
This is unacceptable, they are going to have to have another reset after they fix this mess.
I did a put a 1 in map if you are on this map this morning after about a 20 min queue. 22 ppl responded and that seemed to be about what was in the map at the time. Even if only 1/4 of them responded and I magically did not see the other 66 if the ppl in the map. Where were the other 70+ ppl that should be there if there is a queue.

So, in tcbl this morning. I had a 15 minute queue. Did a press 1 in map chat if you are on this map. Got 22 responses??? Even if only 1/4 responded, where are the other 70+ ppl.
TCBL seemed to have the same problem last night as well. We had 2 teams on the map for the most part, a total of about 25-30 ppl and there were still queues. I don’t know what is going on but it needs to be fixed now. We had maybe a total of 40 ppl on the map this is including ppl guarding towers/keeps.
The night started off with maybe a full map, which still did not seem like 166 ppl. By 1am CST when I logged there were maybe 40 ppl and there were still people in my guild in the queue. So the server that did not have anyone log off would have had a lot more ppl on the map than the server that started to lose people early, that makes for a very lopsided map and very broken ranking. Not to mention the culling last night was worse that I had ever seen it. I never saw char models like last week, there were numerous times I was laying there dead and did not see an enemy until 3-5 seconds after I died, then suddenly 50+ enemies appear. This also needs to be fixed, it is game breaking. I have a high end machine, this is a server side issue. Anytime a map has a queue some one do a count in map chat and keep a record, I will do it if no one else wants to.
Like Kranky said above, even if only half the map responded to the head count, that means there are only 70 ppl in the map? Where are the other 100?
Since the patch my luck has actually turned around and I have been getting a lot more rare drops from chests. I think it is just bad luck really.
Could be, I have been getting a lot more rares from Orr, but nothing from dungeons. Maybe there is a trade off.

I ma not sure what the complaints are all about either. They have all been pretty easy, have never had a problem completing the daily in about a half hour. I have half of my monthly already done and it just started yesterday lol.
Dungeons as well. I have run quite a few since patch and have yet to get a green from a chest. ALL BLUES.
For dungeons can you do 5 x path 1 or do you have to do all paths 5 times?
1 path = 1 dungeon completion
its the best monthly since launch. all extremely easy and for once im not forced to do freaking wvw and most importantly youtube/google 30 puzzles (which i didn’t do and that was my first monthly uncompleted)
…or you could do the same three ones, every day, for 10 days.

You can do them all in one day if you want. If you do the three in LA. Just find the 3 in LA, then WP to another zone and WP back to LA and you will be in a different overflow. You can do all 3 again and get credit.

Instead of the general smug attitude most of this thread has had so far, maybe we could actually get some decent advice in it?
For those of us who just do not like dungeons, especially GW2’s often less than stellar dungeons, what would be the easiest way to get 5 done? I’ve done a total of 2 dungeon runs. Both of which occurred during the first month of the game. Which dungeons should I look for when people are asking in trade chat? Which are usually pretty fast and fun? Stuff like that.
I did all 3 AC paths last night in like an hour. A CoF path1 run takes like 10 minutes. Right there you have 4 of the 5 done in less than 2 hours. Also FotM 1-5 is extremely easy and does not take long, but I am not sure those would count as dungeons.
Dungeons to not run if you don’t like dungeon running: CoE, CM p2/3, HotW, Arah
The others are somewhere in between.

I’ve never really been a fan of daily tasks honestly.
If it were up to me, dailies would be totally based upon what the player wants to do.
Say you log on, and all you want to do is check out the TP, or maybe you want to go run a couple dungeons, no prob! If that’s not your cup of tea, no worries. You could do some map exploration, level some alts, or play some pvp. Anyone could do any of these and still be credited with daily rewards, and it’s really pretty simple.
Currently, the average daily shouldn’t take more than an hour for even the most casual players. So, instead of making dailies requiring to do x, y, and z…just simply make them time based.
You log in and play for one hour, and do what YOU the player wants to do. Congratulations!! You just earned your daily.
Problem solved
Log in for an hour and Voila! Daily done.
anyone tried to do multiple pathes of the same dungeons and see if that’s count?

Yes I did all 3 AC paths last night and got 3 dungeon runs toward the Monthly.

Can we have WvW back plz. Even with the crashes every time a zerg appear or a total lack of skill is really easy to complete but dungeons? With all the segregation? With the policy of Guardian/Warrior only? C’mon

We completed the monthly dungeons with 2 ele’s/necro/ranger/mesmer without a death. Why guard/warr?

No, you were never able to do this as far as I know. Once you pick a home server all of your chars will be created on that server.
It’s your server. What server are you on? I am on Tarnished Coast and I can’t go anywhere without running into ppl.
The other thing is free server transfres just ended and there were quite a few mass migrations.
You had like 3 weeks notice that they were going to make transfers paid only.
If your guild left without telling you than maybe they could take up a collection. Seriously there are some servers that are taking collections to get entire guilds to move to thier servers.
Please for March: 500 WvW kills and 100 JP!

I do like the WvW kills though, I could get those done in 2 pushes.
My guess would be is that it is much easier for guilds to run together now that there is no level requirement so there are less ppl looking for PuGs. I know in my guild I see ppl running them all the time now as you can preety much run with anyone.
That is odd I ran AC last night and had no problem finding the pieces.
One thing I did notice is the graveling burrow events seem to have been severly nerfed?
I have noticed AC can be buggy at times though, I know on P2 one time we could not get Detha to start the final event before the last boss.
