[TC] Tarnished Coast
I’ve never really been a fan of daily tasks honestly.
If it were up to me, dailies would be totally based upon what the player wants to do.
Say you log on, and all you want to do is check out the TP, or maybe you want to go run a couple dungeons, no prob! If that’s not your cup of tea, no worries. You could do some map exploration, level some alts, or play some pvp. Anyone could do any of these and still be credited with daily rewards, and it’s really pretty simple.
Currently, the average daily shouldn’t take more than an hour for even the most casual players. So, instead of making dailies requiring to do x, y, and z…just simply make them time based.
You log in and play for one hour, and do what YOU the player wants to do. Congratulations!! You just earned your daily.
Problem solved
LOL, NOOOO!!!!
That is just rediculous. So how long should the monthly take? 30 hours? The daily/monthly gives us something to do. It isn’t that hard and you get stuff while you are doing them. Not sure why they are a big deal.
We are getting 4 times the reward lol, we get laurels now.
I know that is not what the OP is saying but…
It’s 5 dungeon runs lol, I got it done last night in about an hour and a half. Really the salvaging is much wirse than that. I like the new monthlies. NO MORE JP"S
I got a Zap in WvW so I would not say it is bad. It is obviously not as good as running FotM but most of us run WvW because we enjoy it. It would be nice to pick up a few more rares now and then but I can deal with it. I think it also depends on how many bags you end up with at the end of the run, there are numerous nights where is will have gotten 50+ bags from PK’s. I think I usually end up with about 2-3g on guild push nights.
You could contact ANet customer service and see if they will make a very special exception for you.
The message suppression keeps people from posting those annoying — = and whatever other character pictures they make. Those are irritating. lol
But I do see the point with needing to relay information in WvW or even in dungeons. Maybe Anet could implement some kind of suppression lift in WvW and dungeons. That would make sense.
I actually kind of like the supression in LA, it kepps the useless chatter to a minimum. They should implement supression in the big cities and allow it everywhere else. In every other game i have played the most common place for spam was in the main cities.
The supression is extremely annoying. Especially if you are a commander in WvW, You should be immune to supression if you have a commander tome on.
57 mobs is not enough to come to any sort of conclusion. I killed at least that yesterday in Orr for the daily and got nothing but whatever the stupid grey worthless skulls are and a couple of bags. Sometimes I can kill hundreds before getting a green and more than that to get a rare.
Then there are days when I log on and the first thing I kill gives me a rare or exotic. I know the frustration but it is how the game works. I am not sure what you are asking for in this thread op. Do you want to be able to tell the game what you want and you have a better chance at finding it. Some items are rare and it can take a while to find them. Did you just start a level 1 char and run out and kill 57 things and did not get anything good, then come to the forums to let us know?
You had like 3 weeks warning this was going to happen with the option to transfer for free.
Unfortunately I don’t think there is anything you can do but pay the transfer fee and make very sure that is the server you want to be on.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/pvp/wuvwuv/Question-regarding-full-wvw-maps/first#post1340434
This here might be worth looking into.
Basically what’s happening is when someone logs out of WvW to the character screen they still show to be in WvW according to guild/friends list. So it is entirely possible that the game is thinking they are still in the WvW map.
Quoting this here again for the bump. Something is way too weird when you know for certain that somebody has logged out of the game but their dot still shows on the WvW map. It would be a total shame if this turns out to be an issue, though, since it would have been trivial for Anet to have caught it if they were really investigating anything.
If this is the case and ppl are not actually getting logged out, I forsee a lot of RAAAGGEE!
Can you imagine how much this could have changed to outcome of so many matches. Say one of the servers never had anyone log out so they have a full map of 133 and the other servers have a lot log and are still considered in the BL so they are able to only get about 30-40 ppl on the map with a queue.
I am willing to bet that this may just magically stop happening without any word from Anet.
I got one from a PK bag in WvW, it was a Zap.
Someone should do a “Press 1 in Map chat if you are in this BL” when there is a que and just see how many respondants. I know not everyone will respond but it may give a better idea of how many are actually in there.
I know we had a queue in SoR BL last night and it certainly did not seem like there were 133 ppl in there. At most I would guess 50.
There is no doubt in my mind there is a serious flaw. Sometimes after queing to get into EB I enter to find a map seemingly devoid of a full population. When I’ve checked the jump puzzle there might be a few in there but nothing to match the disparity of waiting to get in and the lack of players actually on the map.
There really is a problem here.
Unless you got to the end of the JP you can’t know for sure. I have gone through the whole thing and never see another player, I get to the last part of the JP and the end platform and there is like 30 ppl just screwing around up there.
Hi all,
Queues are per map, per team – so there is a queue for TC players on the Eternal Battlegrounds and a different queue for TC players on each Borderlands, and a different queue for each of the other teams on each of the maps.
During the time it takes for players to change maps it is possible for there to be a queue even if there are less players in a map than the maximum capacity because the players taking up those empty slots are still “in flight” between maps. It’s also possible for a slot to take a while to fill if e.g. people see the queue pop, wait until the progress bar for the automatic transfer is almost empty, and then choose to renter the queue. At that point the system will move on and look for other players to fill that slot but all of that takes a bit of time. We’ve watched the queue numbers a lot and generally it’s only a few slots that are in this reserved state at any time.
Just to be sure I ran a quick database query for the last few days and all the queue numbers look quite reasonable.
So I don’t know where in the map those players are when you’re looking for them, but they’re definitely in there somewhere!
I bet the JP’s are full because there is no siege allowed in there anymore. Please remove the JP’s from WvW.

In AC story the other day two of my team mates were downed by the Troll right at the end of the fight. We couldn’t res them on time before the Troll died; we got the rewards and they go nothing. This really sucks, they did a lot of work in that fight, but we just couldn’t get to them to res.
I think you meant explorable. And they didn’t get any rewards, not because they were dead (I died at the end of certain fights and still got my reward) but because you probably had the Troll fight Kohler and then fought the Troll with the remainder of its life (~10 %). To get drops, you have to do a certain amount of damage, and your teammates probably didn’t.
Or it was a bug (there’s a thread around here on this). But being dead doesn’t prevent you from getting drops.
You cannot loot the body if you are dead when the fight ends. I have encountered this numerous times. You can however get the chest.
Oh you have to run back for 3minutes? Big deal. Its a low punishment for wiping. I think wiping should cause the dungeon to fail so you have to restart completly.
Too weak. I think wiping should uninstall the game and format your hard disk.
i agree but it should also install a virus that will blow up your computer.
Why stop at the computer? Why not just kill you in RL? That is what I call hardcore. Screw this dungeon fail stuff.
Malachor is always empty, you need to get to the cursed shore. If I can recall the entrace to cursed shore is in the SW corner of Malachor, there is a bridge you have to cross.
We had the same thing happen last night. It seems they rolled back a bit after the patch and we lost a lot of siege. I don’t understand why they do not give us a countdown. When I saw the message I expected a “New build you will be sent to LA in 3 mins” so I didnt leave the BL. Then bam, sent to LA, took 15 mins for LA to load, usually I would have gone to the mists but didnt have a chance with no countdown.
I can’t imagine why they can’t give more than a 10 second warning you are going to be booted.
I agree I dont think it’s a hard fight just a really long one. Unfortunately in PuGs more often than not there are numerous ppl that cannot handle dodging anything lol. I don’t really pug anymore so meh.
It’s long usually through sheer lack of DPS. People running AC Exp don’t usually sport the best of the best in DPS builds or even know how to maximize their DPS to that fight.
But it was long before this patch, this patch didn’t make it any longer really, so that topic is best discussed elsewhere.
Anyway, there is a front page news post about Robert looking into health values for mobs in Dungeons and more tuning coming as we go forward. I’ll just be happy when people stop skipping everything and stop exploiting everything so that dungeons can be as fun as that other game, rather than mindless “RUN!” zergs.
That is awsome news. Like I said most of the issues I have are with the trash mobs, the bosses are all pretty easy. There are some spots where the trash is near impossible without dying numerous times. I would also like to stop skipping a lot of the trash as most of them drop good crafting mats.
Please make sure that your system clock is set to the correct time, according to where you live. This may allow you to see the right daily achievements (which are for today: Daily Veteran Slayer, Daily Dodger, Daily Crafter, Daily Gatherer, Daily Events). We’ll continue to investigate this bug and are working on a fix for this, but we have no ETA on when we’ll be able to deploy it.
LOL, not sure if serious.
Our system time/date can effect in game events???
Pretty much, if your party doesn’t do kholer because of this then you’re bad and you should feel bad.
I dont think they feel bad, that is what is anooying about it and why I don’t PuG anymore. Especially with the new change to the WP’s.
What was wrong with the combo field daily? I was not grouped up with anyone and just threw down a bunch of fields in a DE and it was done in like 5 mins.
I honestly dont know, why did they remove it?
Because it wasn’t working right, you got lucky. Arenanet even said that it wasn’t working right.
Oh, ok. Thanks. I havent been on the forums for a couple days and was not aware it was not working right.
AC is fine with the change other than I don’t think anyone will do Kohler anymore until that fight is tuned a bit.
Kholer never even required a run back before this was implemented.
Even if the players in your party are too brain dead to notice the 3 seconds of yellow glowing “OMG I’M ABOUT TO PULL YOU IN” to dodge in time, it rarely kills anyone outright, it just puts them in a down state in which people can just res them back up.
And it’s infrequent enough that “down sickness” shouldn’t be more than in the “gray”, so you’ll have plenty of HP when you get up.
Kholer is easy mode, except for the people who don’t res and don’t know what Dodge means.
I agree I dont think it’s a hard fight just a really long one. Unfortunately in PuGs more often than not there are numerous ppl that cannot handle dodging anything lol. I don’t really pug anymore so meh.

I got one in Orr patch night from a mob. Other than that I have only received them from completing storyline.
AC is fine with the change other than I don’t think anyone will do Kohler anymore until that fight is tuned a bit. There are some dungeons that will have to be re-tuned or no one will do them, especially CM path2 and some of the other runs that are way over tuned. I am not talking about bosses, they are for the most part easy, there are some spots on some of these dungeons where the trash is just rediculous.
HAHA you still can use the troll bonus event on kholer tho =P
Ya but I have only gotten the troll about 2 of the last 10 times in there. But yea if the troll pops we always do Kohler. It isn’t that bad of a fight they just need to tune his HP’s a bit. Most people just skip it because it takes so long, I think by now most ppl can avoid his big attack. I think one shot mechanics are dumb especially with the change but I guess that is how they tried to make it hard, it is an eas yfight without that.
Orr was fun for a day. There was a ton of ppl there, every where I went there was a group just running around. There were ppl to do the DE’s with and drops were woth while. Now I am lucky if I get anything other than the grey skulls that drop(can’t remember what they are called but you know what im talking about.
I will not be going to Orr anymore.
I’m imagining they nerfed the drop rate because I’ve heard people were getting 150+ bags an hour. This can only mean a good thing in keeping T6 material prices stable.
Anyone know of other changes this meant?
This^^
I know the night of the patch I got about 75 heavy moldy bags from a very broken DE in Orr, where you could cause the event to go on forever by just killing all the mobs that spawned. I am pretty sure that event was working as intended but there were so many ppl doing it that it was possible to go on forever. I also got about 10 rares that night from just running around killing mobs.

This wsa absolutely terrible in WvW last night. It almost seemed worse to me. Enemies loaded a little faster but most of the time you could not see half of your own zerg.
It’s gonaa take some getting used too.
Lol, like ppl didn’t know this was going to happen. It obviously was not working as intended.
I do believe that is what they base their design on, if you time your dungeon runs with a consistent group that are averagely geared/spec’ed they mostly take about 30min~1hour
Except for CoF path1 lol. AC usually took about 20 min – 30 min. It will take all of an hour now. No one will do Kohler anymore.
Curious to see how this pans out.
It’s like this change is a big surprise lol. Everyone had thier alts parked thier. It probably was the main sorce of Ori in the TP.
I will drop the mandatory statement here then “Learn to play your character properly”
Dungeons will just become a little harder, after the nerf on Alpha’s hp I expect the fight to be much MUCH easier. This also gives people less incentive to skip mobs due to risking people dying randomly.
Great change imo
I suppose skipping mobs will not be very doable anymore. Ha, all dung runs will take an hour now.
The WP change will make it near impossible for PuGs to complete most dungeons. I have yet to run a PuG in CoE/CoF/CM that at least 2 pugs didn’t die somewhere in there. They will hyave to seriously nerf the dung after this change. I can’t imagine the qq when people start pugging dung this week.
I personally don’t have a problem with it, but there will be outrage on the forums.
Thrumdi,
You really need to get on the server wide mumble, it is for everyone in WvW on the server, you can even get your own guild channel set up on it. At any given time there is likely to be around 100 people on that mumble and it is divided into BL’s. It is really easy to get with another group or start a group with 2-3 guilds and run your own small zerg or ninja group. We are a pretty big guild and we join up with other big guilds on push nights a lot of times to get coordinated with them. With everyone in mumble it is really easy to get coordinated into a good group.
I am sorry you are not having fun on TC. Have you tried getting on the server wide mumble? A group of <10 people is perfect as a havoc squad and are extremely useful during big pushes. I know our guild runs one exclusivly during pushes just to take camps/scout and another group as tower defense. I know that isn’t the most fun but it really helps. I know when we are running our pushes we are coordinating with other guilds on the map we are pushing and on other maps as well. Maybe you could try to join up with another ninja team and run together. That way you would have bigger numbers and be able to handle a smaller/medium size zerg.
It is def worth getting on the serverwide mumble though to try to coordinate with the other guilds on the map. It will also give you some idea of who is where so you can choose a map that may be less populated.
Unfortunatly right now it is near impossible to find any time right now when there isn’t a huge SoR presence on any map which could be discouraging. In the next couple weeks everything should start to even out and it should get easier for the smaller guilds maybe.
Our guild leader is sitting at about 133k kills at the moment, and the game wasn’t released 10 years ago, so titles are not unreachable.
LOL, your guild leader has gotten 900 kills a day every day since launch.
Screen shot please
This game is far from dead but it may be after the patch today. Dungeons will no longer be able to be pugged except for maybe CoF path1. I cant even imagine the qq this week when you can no longer zzombie run to complete some of the broken content in these dungeons.
“Ya your right we have seen what happens. They thrive.
EQ2 and WoW still making money with MONTHLY subs after 9 years? Check.
Rift still making money? Check.”
Lol at Rift being a hardcore game. That game is so nerfed to the ground you can PuG almost all raid content. Same with Dungeons. It makes money still because it is so casual friendly.
I don’t know when the last time you played was but that may be one of the most casual friendly games out there. I went back to check rift out after a year of not playing and people are Pugging HK. I don’t know about EQ or WoW as I haven’t played them in years but my guess is they are the same, extremely dumbed down content to be more casual friendly, that is why those games still prevail.
I don’t understand or believe that what the OP stated is even possible. If you rush through the zone, don’t harvest nodes, don’t craft, never repeat a DE you’ve done before, don’t do your personal story and only kill things that are part of a DE or Heart, then you can end up with the need to travel to another starting zone. (Well, not really “need”, since you can also stick around in a starting zone, killing things, harvesting things, repeating DEs, etc… and gain a lot more than 15 levels).
However, the OP claims they did the other things and still came up short. Sorry, it just isn’t possible. I have 5 human characters, all leveled up initially through Queensdale and I’ve never had this issue when I have not just rushed through the zone doing the bare minimum.
Now, maybe Arenanet would be well served increasing the frequency of DEs in some of the starting zones, to minimize the chances that someone who skips sources of XP they may not be aware of, like harvesting, crafting, exploration, etc… will “run out of things to do” short of the level requirement for the next zones over, but I don’t think they need to make the 1-15 leveling process quicker than it already is.
To be clear, I know that some new players to the game can indeed miss a lot of sources of XP, not realize how easy it is to journey to other starting zones and feel like they’ve hit an impasse. However, the OP claims they did all those other things and only hit level 12 and I just don’t believe it for one second.
I believe it. I have done it and I wonder why there is such a difference between some of us. I did all hears in Queensdale and any DE’s I came across and had to go to Ascolonia and do most of it to get to level for Kessex Hills.
Are some of you guys using XP boosters?
it is impossible to be under leveled to be honest, an yes I know you will ignore my post or respond with some abuse. But the facts are plain. Having done 4 chrs so far I can say with 100% cert that without playing alt racial zones I leveled perfectly every time. I was doing my storylines 2-3-4 levels above my level, an didn’t once need to redo other zones to catch up.
This^^^
was my experience too but after my 2nd toon it just gets old running behind on levels as everything is so much harder and slower. I started a 3rd and just could not do the hearts anymore so i got him to 20 and got 30 more levels crafting 3 profs up to 400. I am going to do it the rest of the way in WVW.
I may do my 4th all with crafting. I can look at these maps again and do all the same quests again.
The other thing is it is easier to do 2-3-4 levels above you with some profs but not others. Harder being Mesmer, Elementalist and much much easier being Guardian, Warrior, Necro. Lol i can do story line 5 levels above my necro where I would die alot at 2 levels above with my Ele.
I got a Zap last week. Since then I get nothing but badges and claws.
Haha, now people will actually have to learn how to play. This could be awesome for pugs in future though, means the standard amount of skill is gonna be much higher than before.
Unfortunatly history has shown this not to be the case in other games. They won’t learn how to play they will just quit because they will not be able to find groups anymore.
Usually when they make big changes like this in a game they end up having to nerf the content so it is puggable again, or there is mass crying/quitting on the forums. I personally like the dungeons the way they are but I forsee a major nerf to them in the near future.
the only thing i dnt understand is if yur gonna nerf them to the point of not having this WP zerg thing goin on, then why do u need to change the WP rez.. ppl wont use that method anymore… just take out the OP one hit KO’s these NPC dish out and fix the bug’s.
Anet must not see it coming. Based on my experience with PuGs they must find a lot of the dung’s hard. I have had only a few good pugs(and those were me filling a spot in a guild group), for the most part they seem to have a hard time. The only way some of these were completable with PuGs is if they could run back and even then it was an abysmal run. I forsee a lot of crying about how hard the dung’s are to pug after this change takes effect. I have seen this happen in too many games(Rift numerous times, Swtor, etc.). This is usually after an LFG is put in place that they nerf content, to make it PuG friendly. But this will be similar because it will make the content harder.

Wewt, saw a bunch of SBI guilds on SoR.
I guess it comes down to this again. Whoop-de-doo.
Teamstacking is to PvPers what bigotry is to the Tea Partiers. Every one of them will deny it, but a bunch of them do it.
People want to win to feel skilled, but when they’re not, they just join the winning team to make themselves feel skilled. Such the circular logic of being happy.
This isn’t a dig at SoR, but rather at the jokers who have and continue to join SoS. The need-to-fight-the-odds-to-feel-good masochists are a rare breed in PvP anywhere, even though almost everyone in any PvP game will claim that mantle with furious chest-thumps.
Anyways, we in TC should hunker down for a long bruising fight, since there are 4 T1 servers now. It’d be interesting to see how the next couple of months go.
I’m so confused at the rationale. The tier was shaping up to be amazing – yes, there was a clearly stronger server, but not overwhelmingly so. There was a fair balance and good fights to be had. What do we have now? An utterly broken tier with an incredibly stacked server, a completely dead server and one server in between. And for what? So people can move to the highest tier and then…what? Is that what WvW means? I always thought the game mode is about joining in to fight for your server against other servers of similar strength for enjoyment. I guess I’m wrong. It’s clearly about having the biggest number on a pie, and the highest placing in a meaningless ranking, even if all you do is jump around servers and beat on doors to do so…
This^^^
I really think it is more fun having good competition then moving to be in first. Like this first part of this week was really close and was some of the best WvW i’ve had so far in this game. Was a ton of fun.
It is what it is, unfortunately.
The thing is, WvW is still a blast, regardless of the server balances going helter-skelter because of the hopping.
I feel the hopping is fine, the ladder is fine too, we need some more volatility in servers moving up a tier or down a tier. SBI right now should get a feel for T3, win there, then move back up to T2 – this will buck up everyone there. SoR should get bumped up to T1 fast rather than going on playing in T2 for weeks. More volatility is bad for teamstackers – their psyche will keep getting damaged, they will either quit or pay real money which they should be putting money towards transfers which they should be spending on beers and steak IRL. More volatility isn’t damaging to the dedicated crowd, people who PvP for fun or for the challenge will PvP regardless of which tier they play in.
Anyways, what is done is done. GW2 WvW still beats the pants off of mass PvP in any game for many, many years. With the paid transfers, at least things will settle down in the next few weeks.
The game’s fun.
Most PvPers on SoR have fought hard on that server for many months, as have most PvPers on any servers. I’m sure SBI got some teamstackers, as have TC when we moved up the ladder from way down. TC didn’t get any guild transfers, SoR got a few. Its all good.
I actually wish the paid transfers were implemented before TC started its (rather sharp) move up to T2. I hope SoR doesn’t end up wishing the same in the long run.
Again, to summarize, its not SoR’s fault what individual decisions guild leaders who server hop make or what some people on SoR do to solicit them. SoR vets can’t very well stop the hopping.
In all fairness, TC has a recruitment post up too. We cannot fault other servers for being more successful than us at something we are trying to do ourselves.
Sorry my post was not meant to say there was fault anywhere. I was just pointing out how much fun the balance was. I hope SoR does well and has good comptetive matches in T1, I have had a lot of fun the past few weeks fighting them. I think the paid transfers coming will even out the tiers and unfortunately create less volatility but I also thin it will lead to some great balance and some long term rivalries.

They nerfed aoe with the five person limit. I think the only other aoe nerf that should happen is to make them work along the same lines in the since of over all range.
For example being on the third floor of the keep with an ele and being able to aoe the ground floor. Where as a ranger’s aoe will not fire to the first floor and necro’s can not drop wells on the 1st floor from the 3rd floor. But to nerf the aoe damage is kind of sad considering there is a price for that damage our single target damage is less than other classes.
An ele is pretty useless aoeing the ground floor from up there. You can aoe exactly below you and no one goes there while you are doing it. And it only covers a small part of the middle of the floor in Garrision
How the heck are we going to kill thieves if we don’t have effective AoE? It’s not like you can see them to obtain a target. How about a fix on culling first and then i’m open to discuss AoE. You nerf AoE at this point and it’s zerg fest 2013.
This ^^^^
Fix culling first. I do not understad how they can change AoE without fixing culling.
They really need to seup a PTR. These changes ar all being implemented with no testing???
