[TC] Tarnished Coast
(edited by Ruprect.7260)
This is something that should be brought up privately with the guild that was doing this. Or you can take a ScreeShot and send it to Anet.
Posting this on the forums is just going to get you a forum warning and a lot of trolling.
I agree this is pretty low but this is not the place for things like this.
(edited by Ruprect.7260)
In a normal tier 3 match with the servers there right now, there are not a lot of 40 person portal bombs. But we also saw enough tier 2 population with Kaineng last week (As you are this week) to get a feel for what it’s like up there.
Admittedly, I wvwed less last week than usual, but I did not notice any hard problems with culling that I did not notice in other weeks or matches.
But yeah, I do speak from a tier 3 perspective. (Which is not at all a low tier)
Not saying it’s low at all and I have a lot of respect for the tier 3 servers. There is just a big jump from t2 to t3 as far as the number of large zergs. I forgot you guys had Kain last week so yeah you probably saw more of this than usual.
I am not sure what the difference is between individuals when it comes to culling. I just know for me it is a lot worse since the patch. I am finding I am dead a lot more often and not seeing the 30+ ppl that killed me until after I have been dead for a few seconds and I am hearing this a lot more. Also vice versa, we will run in and I know these guys are all dead before they even knew we where there. This would happen before the patch but it seemed the enemy rendered a lot faster.
I honestly,
And without trolling or trying to start kitten,
Do not understand the problem people have with culling. At all.Since the introduction of fallback models to help alleviate local culling (That is, the culling that happens on your own computer while your hard drive loads character models), I have experienced almost no culling whatsoever in either zerg or small group combat.
I see a kitten lot of fallback models, but I haven’t been ganked by an invisible group since the patch or had any trouble finding my opponents in any sort of combat.
In a tier 3 server how often do you run into 40+ person portal bombs and 40-50+ person chained mesmer veils? That is where culling really shines. I am not trying to troll I am actually curious. I don’t recall FA doing a lot of that with the exception of a few guilds. Generally in a zerg of 15-20 on each side the culling isn’t all that bad, but in t2 we see a lot of 40+ man zergs. We have learned to try and move in really slow when we only see 5 or so because we know they will render really slowly and within about 5 seconds the whole zerg will be visible.
Even with 40+ ppl just running in we will hear, “about 5 coming in from the south”, then a few seconds later “wait, i mean 10” then a second later we are all dead and about 2 seconds after being dead you will see all 30-40+ of them. It makes it near impossible to defend. I have a good rig and evertyone renders fine, I have almost no lag most of the time. This is a serverside problem.

Am I the only who finds state of the dungeons bit sad when it’s more about exploiting stupid AI than using your own skill correctly?
Splitting groups with pulling, standing on funny spots, skipping, using terrain when kiting, abusing line-of-sight, hitting through walls, watching them just suiciding against reflects., watching them stand there eating all damage…
Above is pretty much only reason I can solo stuff.
I would agree, there is such a wide margin of difficulty between the dungeons and paths. AC is super easy, which it should be as it’s the first dungeon. Then you have CM, which is way over tuned and seems to be buggy at times. Then jump to CoF which is rediculously easy and CoE which, some paths are a little overtuned. I haven’t even tried Arah exp but story mode was a PITA.
There really needs to be a progression of difficulty, from the lowest level dungeon to the highest. Or a progression of difficulty in the story modes and just make the exp dungeons all the same basic difficulty which is harder than the story modes. Because the exp are open to dynamic leveling they should be doable by a level appropriate group.
If NPC’s are champions it would be near impossible some times to take a tower or keep on a T1 or T2 server. Rarely arwe you PvDing at that level, and if you have to spend 5 minutes just killing the NPC’s your group will be dead before you finish killing them.
As far as cannons/mortar being run by NPC’s, that would suck, I got 28 bags from manning a cannon this weekend in one 20 minute encounter with both enemy servers.
maybe on lower tiers it is easy to take them out but if a player is manning one or more it can be hard to get at them.
Hi,
I’ve been playing since launch (Anvil Rock) and have not once seen anyone roleplaying with eachother or any guilds with RP recruiting, I was wondering if this is simply a result of a bad server choice or of Guild Wars 2 just happens to have a lack of a roleplaying community.
Have you seen any RPers in your server/Do you RP yourself?Tarnished Coast is the unofficial RP-centric server, and it’s awesome to have a world were there are adventuring parties and in-game player events to flesh out the zones. It’s a treat to be sure.
This ^^
Tarnished Coast has a lot of RP guilds and events. I cant play in a zone without seeing someone RPing. I am not an RPer but there is no shortage on TC. I love TC even though I do not RP but some ppl in my guild like to RP with other guilds. I have been on 2 other servers and found my home in TC and have never looked back. Probably the best community I have seen in any game I have played.

Path 2 is rediculous and needs to be tuned. The bomb the gate part isnt to bad but the part after that with the cannong and all the ranged mobs is assenine. That is the only place I have ever had real trouble, and I hevent even tried it after the WP change, because I knew it would be a mess. P1 seems ok and P3 is manageable but I won’t even do p2 again until it is tuned a little better.
It’s fine, we completed it in about 20 minutes last night with 3 ppl that had never been there. You need to have a ranged mark the assasins and focus them down. We did it on the first try. The other mobs die fast and or can be kited.
Anet did something, the queues were manageable and it seemed like we all had a queue and about the same size forces on all servers reset night and all weekend. Culling is still a problem but they fixed whatever the issue was that was causing mismaches last week. This weekend I have not seen a queue with a small force on the map or with outmanned buff like last week. If we had outmanned buff there was no queue. I also have not found that GW2.exe running on my computer after I log off. Ninja fix in effect.
Thanks for the fix Anet, but I wish you would have just told us there was a problem and saved us a lot of headaches.
Lol this is 4 months old, but…
If you right click on a commandes and click join squad all you can see is that commanders tome and no one elses.
This was my exp too, no queues last night but not many ppl on either. We are pretty spread out in score though so we have been playing a lot in wvw more than seroius pushes.
If you are on JQ I could see no queue’s JQ is running away with it, but the other 2 servers are real close so, I could see them being pretty full.
It will be hard to say until tonight’s reset whether TC will still see that same issues or if we see more ppl in the BL’s tongiht. Queue’s are a given tonight but I am curious too see if there are more ppl on than last week.
After some heavy testing I managed to replicate Humanpony’s claim of the hung process. The sad part is that it was only once and I couldn’t get it to happen again. I did sniff around a bit with wireshark and it appears to be pinging what I guess is the login server, but not the ip of my server (Gates of Madness) or the eternal battlegrounds. I can’t draw any concrete conclusions from this info. Did anyone else manage to test it and have more luck?
When I logged in last night my client did not come up. I checked the processes running on my computer and found there was 2 GW2.exe processes running. It had to have been running since I logged out the night before and it was using about half the resources that the new process was using. I stopped the process and my client came right up.
This has happened a few times to me since the patch. In the past I had just restarted my computer to get the client to come up when it seemed to hang. It’s hard to say because I did not Wireshark it but I wonder if as long as the GW2.exe process is running in tha background even after I logged out if the server still thinks I am online.
If this were the case then if I had logged out while still in the BL, it may consider me still in the BL even though I am logged out and that would make for strange queues. This could really answer everything if this is the case. Unfortunatly when I logged off last night I was tired and forgot to check if that process continued to run. I will check when I get home and if it is I will run a Wireshark and see what or if it is sending data.
This is an interesting find.
You know, as a commander of a pretty large Guild, I could really use some hard answer to how many members I can get on a map at once. Just saying.
This ^^^^
It is getting very frustrating to be able to get maybe half your force out there when we were easily able to get all out before the patch. This being outnumbered with a queue and seemingly 40 ppl on the map is getting old.
Oh, to add more anecdote into the mix…..
We had major queue issue since the last major release on my server, just like all the other servers with a WvW population have. Ignoring reset night as it is always going to be crazy, Saturday through Tuesday we had over an hour queue on every map. Oddly, last night we had almost no queue during prime time on most maps. Did everyone stop playing all of a sudden?
This was also my experience. There was very little to no queue when a lot of us first got on. After about 20 of us got into the bl the others started getting a short queue. I would guess there was about 50 total of us on the map, and that is just what I saw so I am sure there were more.
As the night progressed ppl started leaving for the night, it got to a point where we were very undermanned. Then some of us got the outmanned buff, I didn’t think much of it until I noticed not all of us had it. That was strange and I had never seen that before. It was getting late for me and I had the buff so I was logging for the night, I went to LA through the portal and just for kittens and giggles I thought I would try to get back into the bl to see if there was a queue, there was.
I applaud this attempt to get better information, but the testing methodology is insufficient to be able to come to any kind of conclusion. the evidence collected so far can’t be considered more than “anecdotal”. At best, it gives us better ideas about what tests to perform next.
Personally, I suspect that the queue bug is due to people who think they are queued when they actually aren’t. That is, they get a message saying they are queued, they see the hourglass overlay on the WvW icon, but on the back end they are not actually placed in the queue and therefore never get in. The people who queued after and got in before are the people who actually made it into the queue on the back-end, instead of getting dropped.
When you think you are queued, you naturally infer that the map you’re queued for is full. This then leads you to do all sorts of things (like trying to count how many people are in the map). But if you were never actually queued to begin with, then all your previous inferences and assumptions are called into question.
Of course, I have no way of knowing if my suspicion is correct. We have lots of reports of people being queued for a long time, while others get in before them, but do we know if any of them eventually made it in, or did they give up and log off or queue for something else instead?
-ken
On reset nights we have had ppl get in after hours of waiting, they will just stay queued while they go do othere things and they do eventually get in.
Some of what you say makes sense. What has been happening lately is ppl will start to requeue up every 5 mins and some will get in right away after requeuing and some will requeue for hours and finally get in.
So I was in a BL last night, it was starting to get late and we were losing players, this is normal. At one point about half of us got the outmanned buff and the other half did not? I had the outmanned buff and had to log for the night. As a test after I left the BL I tried to get back in, I WAS IN THE QUEUE for 20 mins while when I left the BL I had the outmanned buff.
2 things:
Why did only a few of us have the outmanned buff and not everyone? Are only some of us outmanned?
Why was I in the queue when we had the outmanned buff?
I’m sorry but this was not culling. There is something wrong. Being that only some of us had the outmanned buff tells me something is wrong. It was painfully obvious we were outmanned, I have no question there.
I need to learn2fraps, so I can get this stuff and post it as proof. Maybe then we would get some answers.
I thought I would post this here and maybe it will get more attention than on the WvWvW forums, this has got to be a bug.
Last night we were in BGBL and we were starting to notice declining numbers which is normal as the night goes on. We were running out of our spawn and we had the outmanned buff, we also had ppl in the queue. I logged out while having the outmanned buff and tried to get back into the BL. THERE WAS A QUEUE???
Can someone please explain this to me. It was painfully obvious that we were actually outmanned yet I waited in the queue for nearly 20 mins while ppl in that BL had the outmanned buff. Also not everyone had the outmanned buff. How is that possible?
Seroiusly, kitten
I thought this was going to be something new, I was so excited to see that they were actually looking into the major WvW discrepencies and showing us the data.
Then I read the date >(
Ugh..
get 10 random people to look at a moving zerg and ask them to estimate the size … get 10 different answers.
Maybe in your groups. We are generally good at estimating the size of a zerg.
We did not get very many prime time guilds, maybe some new players. We did however pick up a few euro/oceanic guilds.
The queue on friday is understandable, it’s reset night. Not having a seemingly full BL and having a queue is not right. This is the problem not the queue itself but the fact that there is no where near 166 in the BL and having a 2+ hour queue.
A few full clears of Orr should get you a few g. At least you could get some decent rares then.
To get a full set of dungeon gear minus the weapons you will need to run exp around 25-30 times. To me that is not a grind, but to some it may be. Now doing this for all 4 of my 80’s is starting to feel like a grind.
hearsay and innuendo is still hearsay and innuendo unless backed up by tangible facts.
Saying you ran around the map and couldn’t find people? With the new culling I can’t find people standing right in front of me half the time.
Saying you asked in map chat to post if you are there? Ever yelled/or seen others yell at random pugs who keep taking supply even when asked not to take supply from the tower/keep/castle? Some people will just not respond or potential have the channel turned off even.
Saying things like ‘even if only 1/3 of people responded’ is based on what? Its just the fraction someone picked to fit their argument, it has no basis in fact, it could be 9/10 responded or it could be 1/20 responded, there is just no way to know.
———————
I’m not saying there isn’t an issue, there may be, I don’t know, but let’s not waste everyone’s time with fake statistics, fake numbers just makes the entire thread easily dismissed.
Without any response from Anet there can only be speculation and confusion.
What are we supposed to do? People are coming up with thier own theories trying to discuss this obvious problem.
As far as if only 1/3 responded, I never presented it as fact, it was on observation and I was very clear about that, key word/phrases like “if” and “I have a felling” are tells to most ppl that this is an observation, but I have been in WvW enough to guage how many there are now based on how many there were a few weeks ago.
So without any numbers
It is painfully obvious to me that there are far fewer players in a map than there was before the patch and we have a long queue to get in.
(edited by Ruprect.7260)
It does not even seem like they just lowered it though. More and more I am seeing huge number discrepencies between servers even though we have a queue. Like we have 30-40 tops on the map and have a queue while we are running into 60-70 at times.
As a mathematician, I think the key mistake you are making Mr. GottFaust is not understanding the difference between a conjecture and a theorem. The title of this topic is “The real reasons for the queue bug;” however, you present speculation not proof. If the title were “A theory on the queue bug” I am certain that people here would be more receptive to your ideas.
This is a very valid point. I have made the suggested change. As an engineer, I am very literal-minded. Given the fact that no one can prove, beyond a shadow of doubt, that their theory is more than based on observation, until a definitive answer is given from A-Net, I assumed the fact that this is a theory would be obvious, and that the old title would be fine.
You must not spend much time on the forums;)
So many ppl spout thier speculation as fact, when a person sees this they instantly go on the offensive looking for facts to backup the claim.
You would have received a much better response by using the word theory.
We’ve counted the number of players present in each WvW maps, and it turns out to be 70 persons per server per map.
This is much much lower than it was before the patch.
Question:
Has the capacity of the WvW maps been reduced on purpose, or is it due to a bug ?Please, try to solve this issue as soon as possible, as more and more people (guildies, allies, friends, etc…) just stop playing the game just because of this problem.
How does a player acuratly count the amount of players on the map? There can be lots of random people running around the map.
What i did was call out in /m to press 1 in map chat if you are on this map. I also expalined why i was doing it. I got 22 responds. Before I did this I was in a queue for the BL. Even if only 1/3 of the ppl there responded, where are the other 100 players? i also ran to our towers/keeps, there were a few here and there but not 166. I have a feeling there were more like 30 and maybe a few in the JP but still not 166 and enough for there to be a que.
This has been repeated a few times with the same result. Long queues for empty BL’s
I hope it stays like that to be honest. If 70 people per map increases performance, then good. If it also reduces the number of mindless Zergs roaming around, then that is also good.
I agree with Liquid (the above poster) that Anet is doing this on purpose to get people to move realms based on the frustration caused by long queues. They have stated that one way to fix the long queue problem is to move to a lower population server. Lets say that merely saying it wasn’t enough, so they moved on to more drastic action by decreasing population sizes to cause even longer queues. I know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, if I had a two hour queue, I’d move.
If this is the case i will
/ragequit
I think some servers are lucky if they can even get that many on at once. Many servers are stuck with numbers much lower than that.
I dont think I have seen more than 50 on a map since the reset.
We are not going to get an answer, there are numerous threads that include this and I bet this will get merged with a queue thread.
Actually post a source for both please. I have been following the dev posts in this forum at least and havent seen what you are referring to.
Here is the link for #1
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/pvp/wuvwuv/Queues-for-WvW-The-Official-Thread/first
They have appearantly been working on this for 5 months now LOL, with no fix
But I have never seen anything even close to relating to #2.
I read a few official postings in other threads, this is my take away:
1) People sitting in que for long periods while some jump ahead of them in que and get in after only a few mins IS a bug and will be fixed as soon as they can identify whats allowing it to happen and fix it.
2) The new cap on maps is intentional and IS NOT a bug. Its there to keep maps more even. The upside: servers over populated in a given time frame will not be able to outman and over run other servers that are undermanned as easily. The downside: servers that are over pupulated in a given time frame will get ques. They seem to home that people on said servers will transfer to less populated servers over time to smooth things out…… only they took away free transfers to ALL servers… so you will have to either deal with the que, quit the game, or pony up some gems.
Please post a link for #2. I have not seen any official posts about the map pops being downsized.
Yay! 3rd time in a row I got screwed over for our guilds WvW Evening. 2 hours in the Q and I never got in and gave up. But what annoys me the most is hearing almost every other guildy eventually getting in, even though they Queued AFTER me, some for like 5-10 mins.
So Im in the Q for an hour…someone comes along and queues and gets in 5 mins later…Im still queuing…20 mins later another guildy starts queuing and gets in 10 mins later…30 mins later Im STILL queuing and this goes on and on every single night Ive been trying now. Gonna give up on it all until/ IF they ever fix it I guess. Shame, the game is obviously broken and Anet arnt even acknowledging it.
What semi worked for some of us last night was going into the mists and then re-queueing every 5 mins until they got in. It worked for some and not others. There were still a few that were not able to get in for an hour plus even though they were one of the first among us to queue. And for some that had been waiting for 45 mins did this and trhey were in within about 10 mins.
Many people leave their characters at certain nodes, and log in to gather when they reset. It’s not always botting, some people just camp nodes.
Botters are pretty obvious though. They glitch and look like they are in the node while gathering it. Most people will run a few steps away from the node if they are going to log alts to farm it. And rarely will you see an alt at a regular node.
Lol, I remeber a few months ago I would see 3 or 4 of them at the same node at the same time.
Yes these are bots. I havent seen any for a long time. If you click on them and then quickly r click on thier picture you can report them. Even if they dissappear the report window stays open.
Everyone is useful in WvW cause all you do is follow the Zerg around.
Yes everyone is useful
No you do not just follow the zerg around
We routinely run small groups of 10 or less to do nothing but defend and cap camps or poke doors and be generally annoying.
Thanks for everyones feedback I’m actually learning some things here but to clarify. I’m not calling mesmers indestructable monsters, I am saying they have to many tools at their disposal that contribute greatly.
I think personally that they are on track with other classes. I do feel more useful as an ele or necro and warriors are indespensable, guardians are good for buffs/healing. Thieves are great for camp capping sqauds. Unfortunately rangers and engineers are defenitely lacking in WvW, but are still useful.
There is no question it is nice to have a few mesmers in your group but I don’t feel it’s neccesary. We do run with 4 to 5 usually by thats by default as some ppl really like to use thier mesmers in WvW.
I stand corrected as I thought it was changed a while back. MI affects 10 players.
The confusion is understandable as all aoe was nerfed to 5. It just happens that we were practicing mass invis stacking last night and I was able to see it working on more than 5.
When he said “so I don’t know where in the map those players are when you’re looking for them, but they’re definitely in there somewhere” players could be in the jumping puzzle, afk at towers/keeps/spawn, solo/pug players looking for solo fights, players who don’t give a kitten to respond to map chat but they are there in the map somewhere. Stop asking them to acknowledge the problem when they said there isn’t any problem at all.
He also posted this before the reset, since then the problem seems to be compunding out of control. I would like an update to this. LOL at 120+ ppl in the JP.
This was a minor annoyance that was just becoming noticable after the patch and before the reset. Now there are numerous thread/servers having the same issue with a queue while also having an outmanned buff???
Having a queue and having an outmanned buff sounds normal to me. What’s the issue with that?
You need to add /sarcasm to that or ppl with think your serious. At least I hope your not serious.
For the most part, I am serious.
Here’s an example:
The map is full therefore there is a que to get in. For whatever reason, a large portion of the players inside the map moves to a different map (example: guild group moving to a different map to help), this will cause an outmanned buff.
This cause the following problem:
-Players upon joining the map from the que think there is a bug because they see an outmanned buff.
-Players that were already on the map jump ship because it is not fun to be outmanned
-The que system cannot fill the open slots faster than 30+ people leaving the map. It takes time – message pop up, player decided if they want to join or now, player is AFK,e tc.This would mean this very unlikely chain of events is happening 24 hours a day on every map since the reset.
This is not just happening on 1 map, this is happeining on numerous if not all maps at any given time.
Your explanation would make sense during primetime and on one map. Last night there was a queue on every map, there was certainly not 166 ppl on the 2 maps I finally got into.
Yes, this will probably not happen on all maps.
The thing I want to know is how fast the que system can replenish the slots as they become open. If it takes 5-10 mins to fill a vacant slot (server search time + player response time), maybe this part of the system can use some refinement.
This is what we all want to know and why we are asking for an explanation as to what the problem is we are seeing in WvW. Since the reset when the majority of the problems started we have heard nothing. Or even just a working as intended so we can start to change strategies to deal with the smaller number of ppl in each BL and try to deal with either being outnumbered with a queue or vice versa.
(edited by Ruprect.7260)
“Aggressively culled allied players” does not mean you can’t see people on the minimap anymore, and it only really should happen when you’re in large encounters or very large zergs – not when you’re running around on your own or in very small groups trying to find out where other people are, as people have reported doing.
Culling does not mean that suddenly you run around on your own, just thought i’d let you know.
Edit: Highfive to the 2 people above me
And yet both of those issues were reported multiple times during the trial run of this new culling system… I’ll let you draw your own conclusions from that.
If this were the case and there is no problem with the queues and I just have 100 invisible ppl with me. Why then do I not see attacks coming from invisile people around me.
I will test this tonight and let you know.
We will call eveyone to arms on a map with a que, I will pm the ppl I can see and tell them not to attack when we run into another group, we will then run everyone out and find a group of enemies. If what you are saying is true, while we are all standing there doing nothing we should see enemies start to magically die by the invisible army around us.
(edited by Ruprect.7260)
Mass Invis only affects 5 people, is an elite skill with a 3 sec cast-time on a long cooldown. Maybe you are thinking of Veil?
Time Warp only affects 5 people.
Mesmer’s aren’t the only class that can ‘pull’ people. Changing this ability would break the weapon (Focus) as this ability does more than just pull people.
Mesmer’s iBerserker requires LoS and more than often won’t spawn on walls and puts the ability on cooldown.
Mesmer’s are considered one of the worst classes for sieging due to lack of AoE to hit siege or players on walls.
Portal has been nerfed like 4+ times already.
It efefcts 11
Time warp, Mass invis, 5 friendlies max get affected.
Mass Invis affects more than 5, have seen it cloak 9, never tried more.
I’ve used it in crowds, only 5 get the invis.
We used it last night and it invised way more than 5.
Mass Invisibility affects a maximum of 10 allies, including yourself.
This is from the wiki

It aggressivly culls allies over enemies. That means there needs to be enemies around in order for the culling to take place.
That does not explain why there is a lack of players when we are in our own keep rallying, they should not be culled.
All I want is an explanation of what we are experiencing from Anet. If it is culling not working as intended than fine, just tell us. But there are too many experiences being shared on the forums even from lower pop servers that there is a problem.
I have a 80 mesmer/necro/ele/gurdian
I dont thnk the mesmer is as useful as you think in WvW, my mesmer is my favorite but I normally play my ele or necro because I feel they are more useful to the group.
As far as MW even with 5+ mesmers throwing clones at you a few aoeswill kill them fast, they have very low HP. Its pretty rare that I can get all 3 to hit anyone from range. The best way it to roll in and hit MW but then you are in the middle of the zerg and in great danger.

I dont beleive this. The mumble is constantly being advertized in /m chat. It is very well known that we have it and is for anyone to use. This is besides the point.
It is not hard to gauge the the number of ppl on a map. Can you tell me where 120+ people are hiding on the map when we have a queue. Im sorry but you can run to all towers/keeps/JP and keep an eye on the fighting and know where most ppl are. We are just not seeing enough ppl on a map to constitute a queue. I would be fine with the queue if the maps were actually full, that is expected. This is not the case, there are instances of queues for hours while the server inside has a outmanned buff??? Please explain this to me.
Also
“We’ve watched the queue numbers a lot and generally it’s only a few slots that are in this reserved state at any time.”If the above was the case there would never be less than about 150 on a map when there is a queue depending on what a few slots actually means. I can gaurantee you I have not witnessed 150 ppl on a map since reset.
Back to my initial point. You aren’t seeing them because the new culling system aggressively culls allied players in favor of enemy players.
Lol, have you even experienced the new culling system? If there are no enemies on the screen I can see my whole zerg, when we all go to our keep to stack up and get ready for a big push are you telling me that I am only seeing 25-30 of my allies and the other 100+ are there but invisible?
And when we are running around in the world as a group of 5-10 taiking camps and there are no enemies around there are a buch of invisible groups that we cant see.
Not only that but the culling system is a whole nother thread. Most ppl think it’s worse than it was before.

You are crying about blues? I have been getting whites from chests now and then. Not sure why there would be whites in a chest, doesn’t really seem like treasure to me, feels more like someone threw thier old junk in the chest.
It wasn’t actually a chest, it was that boss guy’s laundry basket.
LOL, then it should look like a whicker basket instead of a chest so I at least know what to expect.
I’m ignoring most of those claims as they have been directly debunked by a developer already. Yes, people are fallible and developers are people, but I trust them much more than random people, rightfully annoyed by long queues as they may be, making obviously exaggerated claims.
Where was this debunked?
If you are referring to the post in this thread:
This was posted before most of this started happening to the extent it is now. Last week it was a little noticable throughout the week as we had queues but it would seem the BL was actually full and this degraded over the course of the week untuil at the end of the week we would have queues and not a full BL.
After the reset last Friday this was extremely noticable as every week there was a queue on reset night obviously. This time it was very different. Times before we would have 2+ zergs covering a map and you could plainly see there was a ton of ppl there. After the reset on friday night, we had queues and not anywhere near 166 ppl on the map. This was made very obvious to us as we coordinate with the other guilds on our server through a serverwide mumble. We maybe had 50-60 players on the whole map and a very long queue, up to 4+ hours for some. As the night progressed and ppl started logging out we noticed no one was getting in and the numbers were steadily decreasing. The servers that had big groups on and no one logging off still had a lot of ppl on the map, our server who had a lot log off while I was on lost players that never were replaced.
We are very coordianted and close knit. We all noticed this problem and it was made very clear in mumble.
You probably don’t have a serverwide mumble or nearly the coordination we do based on your t7 presence so it does not suprise me this has gone unnoticed by you.
Yeah, wrong on all counts bud.
Unfortunately you cannot possibly know that.
The only official response has stated that the queues on TC are acceptable, intended, and that all the “missing” players are indeed present. You can see this response on the first page of the following thread: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/pvp/wuvwuv/Any-Tarnished-Coast-citizens-agree/first he even goes on to explain exactly how the queues work. I used this information, some educated observation (I’m a Software Engineer), and some plain old common sense to formulate my OP. where’s your proof outside of wild speculation and anecdotal claims?
Why is it when anyone ever gets called out they all the sudden become an expert on the subject after getting called out? (I’m a Software Engineer)
In this instance, I actually am, though my work recently has focused more on GUI work and inter-system communication of data rather than networking queues and the like. Don’t believe me if you don’t want to. I won’t be providing you any “hard proof” because that would make my work/contact info publicly available, which is a stupid idea. Suffice to say I graduated from USC, South Carolina, with a Batchelors in CompSci in 2008 and have since been working for a DoD contractor in Charleston SC as a Software Engineer.
So working in a completely unrelated field makes you an expert on a gaming queue. You obviously have access to internal anet data then? So please copy paste the data into this thread and we can all go home;)
