Mysticque and I have been running for hours upon hours daily in WvW. It’s not that we don’t appreciate a good challenge, it’s that it just gets tiring trying to take an objective from JQ and wiping them and watching the TC zerg come in and defend JQ’s points for them until they regroup and vice versa. The fights themselves are good yes, and many are enjoyable, it just takes a toll on us and it gets annoying spending hours in a single fight making no headway because each server is defending the other’s objectives without even wanting to capture it for themselves. Map politics is one thing, this is on an entirely new level.

Sounds kind of like what JQ has had to do for nearly a year now to stop BGs blobs when we have next to nobody on. Sucks, don’kitten

Other wah wah wah stuff aside, the limitation on 5 people for most skills has to do with server resources. As all of us have probably experienced, we don’t really need something adding to the burden on the server. I basically main an ele, I’d love to hit more people with my tomato storms, but its not really feasible.

I’ll never forget that first time we saw you on blackgate, bgbl ne tower. We were trebbing from north of it and this one mesmer just walked right up to us, completely visible and no attempts to hide and we just all watched quietly until Jed said, “Is this guy for real?” Then the mesmer dropped his portal and Jed yelled “GET YOUR BAGS” and out popped a bunch of BG and RISE to their death. It was such a surreal moment, none of us could believe it.

RISE definitely progressed way beyond that weird failed portal bomb moment and were pretty formidable by the end though. :P

I’m just wondering if anybody has made a concerted effort to try and see how much damage they could get on her before she gets away. Or for that matter, damaging her while shes hopping around the platform during the fight. Shes not invulnerable, though conditions and cc’s dont take even if you can watch the defiant counter go down/reset and she takes hardly any damage. I think the most I’ve done in one hit is ~20 hp. Thoughts? I’d love to see 50 full zerker eles/warriors try to stop her just to see how much they can do.

A few times yesterday and today I’ve looked away from the health bar of the knight, usually at something like the recharges on my skills, and when I look back a few seconds later, usually after the knights done that jump disappearing act thing, a massive amount of HP seems to have just disapeared that doesn’t fit with the normal pace I had been seeing for that fight.

I hear there are pancakes in this thread.

More like anyone above has more people that play for fights.

The closest thing I’ve ever seen to a for fights server was SoR right at their fall when they didn’t even show up on reset night and basically had like 1 camp the entire night because all the guilds were off in eotm…. weeks after eotm came out. The other servers I’ve faced (BG/TC/SoS/FA/Mag) don’t fit the definition.

Well it wasn’t really meant as a backhanded compliment. It takes an extra level of gumption, for lack of a better word, to tough something like that out in anything. I’ve got plenty of friends on BG, friends who were on BG and most of [Att] the Wurm guild is from BG and I hang out with them twice a week.

BG is definitely the overtime server. Nobody can outdo the dedication some of those guys have and I’ve seen them do some incredibly long hours which are actually rather unhealthy but they did it for the win and usually get it.

SoR was the most organized server up until leagues. Now I’m not sure.

JQ is the home of the pug heroes. While you will certainly see good sized guild groups, most of the time said guild groups are bolstered heavily by random militia. If two zergs are facing each other, JQ will have 30 or so in one guild and 30 militia. The enemy zerg will have 40-45 guild and remainder militia. I also can’t begin to even count the amount of times I’ve seen completely uncoordinated (no TS) groups of random people on JQ take out superior numbers. I distinctly recall one instance where 15 random JQs with maybe 5 in TS and no commander fought off an almost entirely guild group twice their size. It was amazing.

TC is the let me hug you then I’ll stab you then we can hug again then maybe I’ll stab you again server. It has some of the nicest people who will, at the first sign of kitten ery, drop what they are doing and play along. It also has just as many people, sometimes overlapping with the previously mentioned subset of population, that will try to beat the living crap out of you on sight and are more than capable of doing so.

Its been awhile since I’ve fought FA, before leagues, but prior to that we were constantly amazed at how much FA groups would run. We got to calling it the FA dash. It was like they had some sort of speed boost on us too.

Mag is the official bluster server. They talk a lot of crap for the sake of talking a lot of crap, they’re good at it, they have fun but its harmless. Their guilds can definitely hold their own but theres been instances where they send people to other servers to get a look at their builds to perhaps take something from it. They are also the most fervent anti-blob server, though you can catch them blobbing every so often. They’re also extremely pompous.

It’s also been awhile since I fought SoS, but at the time they would have been known as the Glass Armor server. I suspect it was partially due to a lack of guild suppor that the server had at that time but on every level of the game SoS players would just melt at the tiniest push. The server has changed a lot though so I suspect thats not valid anymore.

Theres that couple in the Ascalon Settlement in Gendarrin Fields that have the same conversation every few minutes and then go off to complete each others maps…

Because the patch was delayed most of the day people were doing marionette to try and squeeeze out the last few codes. Then the patch hit and everyone rushed to patch so they could try LA. Not a lot of downtime.

Think this week we’ve had 1 day where we had a group of about 7 or so running around together while trying to pick on tail of the Choo zerg train. Other then that, my guys actually been getting frustrated with how dead world vs world has been.

Last night there was a bit more on than normal. I didn’t see you there unless you were playing on an alt or boons. They were picking at a JQ zerg with skov and I was fun. Only 2 stuck around after the fact to sit on JQ spawn with me though.

It was the 4th omega rush I’ve seen on JQ garrison in the last 18 hours or so and I havent even been online half that time.

Serious question for everyone before I go to bread. Does it seem like the dynamics have shifted a bit? Whereas before people would try to constantly hold their north + their corners of enemy BL, now it seems more like everyone locks down their home BL instead.

Anyone who actually knows Jed, knows he doesn’t engage in chest thumping and lets his actions speak for themselves. Also, are we in 3rd place? I wouldn’t know, and neither would most of my guild because atm we really don’t care and are just going out to find some people to fight. Leagues killed the ppt game for a lot of the player base.

Where is everybody? A guildie and I were running around BGBL tonight and hardly saw anybody. We did find a few fights here & there, but the map was barren.

Well, except for the treb trolls in Sunnyhill lobbing cows at people. That’s dedication right there.

As best I can tell, the primary effect of the league has been to make people not give a crap about ppt. They log on, have a little fun, and then log off and don’t really care about flipping something for the tick much less what the score will be at the end of the week. They’ll go help when something is being golem rushed or whatever, but they’re not gonna stay up to ridiculous hours of the night trying to out overtime the other servers. I think I saw that SoR is still ahead of JQ. Good for them.

I also saw my guildies having a fantastic chance yesterday to run pinless and we completely wrecked everyone we met and had some snuggles with Choo. We also had HzH and HGBQ guys running with us in their own groups. Its rare that we can even fit SF and HzH on the same map in full, let alone run together pinless. I missed it, but tonight, as Jed said, we had an all warrior night. Last week we had a minion master night. Next week maybe we’ll roll all engies or something. Can you imagine 30 supply crates dropped at once. Oh the lulz that will be had.

Try destacking your server then you might see more people in the WvW… At the moment, it’s kinda pointless.

With all these posts of great fights, It seems that our coverage allows you to guarantee that when you jump into WvW there will be some one to fight.

Why should we destroy (destack) when you can build!

That only works if at any given time two of the three servers are similar in coverage. All three servers coverage right now is sporadic so you end up with situations where one server is non existant and another is queued pushing a 3rd who only has about 30.

I thoroughly enjoyed it, although we got 2v1’ed, Valley inner was breached a couple of times and JQ zerg wiped BG zerg over and over again to the point mapchat had a lot of complaints about people not following the commander, not being on TS, uplevels, and even how we were playing with pugs vs. 2-3 guilds. A few days ago it was complaints about how bad JQ were and how difficult one must try to die against JQ zerg! At least nobody complained about there not being a queue on EB, since there was one.

I want to play against that JQ zerg more often. Any ideas where / when the players in that zerg will most likely be around?

i was really enjoying your zergs tail as we hit those fat zerglings of yours who could not keep up.

Well more often than not, they deserve it and you’re only doing us a favor because in the short term, they’re probably rally bots, in the long term, if they don’t want to learn, they’ll leave and in the long term, if they do want to learn, you’ll only make them better.
