Of course we do. Come on, we aren’t evil. We are also not omnipotent and can’t be everywhere at once keeping tabs on every single player. No server can. That’s where you come in! Report it if you see it.

You got us, Imp. Every night, every person on Kain gets together in chat and talks about the next cheat we can use to get our next set of points and kill every enemy in existence since we have neither the population nor the skill to just take things normally. And we would’ve gotten away with it too, if it weren’t for you meddling kids and your dog!

Alternatively, you could just, you know, report any exploiters/cheaters you see and send any documented evidence you have to exploits@arenanet.com or whatever it is instead of coming to the forums about it. Why is this so hard for everyone? Sorry for my sassy hat. It’s just getting old.

Two things to point out in the screenshot: 1) You Ai folks sure love to prance, and 2) even in parties, GoM and HoD are out-numbered by Kaineng 3:1

It tends to stay rather task-oriented with a little joking sprinkled in between. I don’t personally see a lot of bickering or fighting and when I do it gets shut up pretty quickly. Some gloating over the other servers which isn’t my favorite and I hope to see less of, but it’s a main group of offenders that don’t tend to be fed into. We have a lot of new people to the game right now so a lot of asking for help too.

I don’t know all of what’s going on at DR but if you’d even consider us of all servers to transfer to it must be… divisive. That sucks.

Not sure if this is belated or not, but Grats on T7 K. Not too sure what happened over the last few weeks. Did any of the guilds that split come back or did you guys pick up some new team mates? Lots of fresh 80’s? one way or the other Grats to those of you who stuck it out!

Picked up a kitten ton of transfers. Talk about growing pains. But you guys wouldn’t know anything about that, would you? See you in T5, wait for us!

Well… there aren’t a lot of options. You can “suck it up” and wait it out like we did until you get transfers or the transfer rules are changed or servers are merged, all that jazz. You can also leave and go to a server that better suits your needs. That’s pretty much all you can do. People can transfer where they want to, it’s about having fun in the end and you can’t fault anyone for wanting to do that in a video game. If a new player comes in and turns right back around because they’re losing hard, they’d probably do the same if you were good and suddenly weren’t anymore too. I did not like W3 when I started. I jumped into it and NSP/BP were there to traumatize me back into PVE for a few days. I almost quit PVP for good right away.

I’m sorry this is happening to you guys, I genuinely am. I’m not dumb enough to think this hasn’t happened before because it happened to DR too, you know. We also lost our biggest guilds at the time while they were getting tons of transfers. the difference is we were already bottom tier so we had nowhere to fall to. But I can’t stick up for my server, who has dealt with this for a very long time, without sticking up for the guilds who transferred in. I considered them part of Kain as soon as they proved they weren’t a bunch of a holes, and they’ve done nothing wrong just like DR’s transfers did nothing wrong. Could some have thought it through a little more? Maybe, but then again maybe they did and still wanted to shake up the balance regardless, which is just fair play as far as this particular game is concerned. Whether I agree with it or not is not the crux of my argument.

Also, there’s nothing wrong with low tier either. The fights are just as good in T6-8. I’m going to miss T8 like nothing else because the small team tactics I’ve learned there are invaluable and I already feel rusty. I’d be even worse of a player if I had by chance chosen a high-tier server. You’ll settle in somewhere down here, I hope you like it and use the chance once everything evens out so you’re ready for your inevitable ascension.

Anyway, I’ve said what I wanted to say about this off-topic topic and I’m done with this discussion and replying. I truly wish your servers all the best, you all seem a little battle fatigued but are really cool cats considering. Have fun, ok?

I don’t know, why aren’t you in T2? You could transfer too. I don’t know you guys or your history other than one time you were bigger and now you’re not, and being on a traditionally T8 server up until 3 weeks ago I don’t and still don’t care about rank or score. I die all the time, I’m not that great. I died a lot on a losing server for months on top of that, a new guild killing me what seemed like every night. It didn’t matter. I still played every day and had fun. We’ve been in your position of steam rolled-ness via zerg, I have nothing but respect for people who stick with a server in this position because of that because I realize not everyone gets their kicks in small victories like I do. I don’t have the fall from grace experience you have, but that time will come, guaranteed. I’m saying it doesn’t matter because one day we will lose everyone and you will gain everyone. That’s just how it works. Whether it’s in 1 month or 1 year from now, it will happen. Let it go, talk about the current fights, not why you’re winning or losing them on a meta scale. This kind of crap just gets our thread closed.

WM has really impressed me. They are extremely coordinated and focused and a huge asset to us. Incredibly polite to boot. Haven’t rolled with RE too much, or DE since they split off from SE for that matter so for them, I can’t say. But WM is notbad.jpg.

Looks like PRO is leaving DR at reset. Let it be a reminder about the transfer cycle… it happens to everyone. Nothing to complain or gloat about. It just is. Just fight the good fight one tower at a time and you will have your 15 minutes of fame.

I just bought a soldier’s set with soldier runes/1 crest after using cleric’s w/ dolyak runes exclusively since I hit 80 months ago and let me tell you the difference is mind blowing. I thought I’d really miss the healing stats but I haven’t noticed a thing. I was tired of having such a low crit chance (hovered 25-30) and with the new gear I lost no toughness (actually gained 50pts), gained base health (now around 16K up from 14.5K), and my crit is now 49%. I run berserker/soldier jewelry mix. I use a toughness/healing/power (I think. I’m not in the game right now to double check that last stat) mace and focus when I’m on the defensive and that’s all the extra healing I typically need in 1 fight. My hammer/GS is power/prec/toughness.

I’m on the fence about the healing spell to use. Resolve obviously heals for more, but the blocks and lower CD given with shelter has been interesting me more and more considering the obvious benefit to running it with the Mace/Focus. That’s like 8-10 blocks in a row then 3 secs of un-traited invulnerability if you time it right. I run typical trait stats; AH and the like. RF, SYS, contemplation of purity, and WoR/SYG/HtL depending on the situation.

I feel a lot tankier, I hit harder, and green numbers are flying everywhere. What’s not to love? I put a lot of faith into toughness and outlasting others though and that might not be everyone’s preference depending on what game mode you play.

I won’t be in W3 before reset, so I’ll just say so long for now Fergie and ET! It is the end of an era, combo breaker, etc. I hope there is no ill will towards us as I know we are a bit too big for this sandbox now, and that can cause people to dislike us, as we’ve seen in the past with others. Bumping, since I did for ET as well. I’ll miss fighting FC, they’re true sisters/brothers to Kaineng. Transfer there if you’re serious about W3’ing. Huge opportunity to learn some great tactics, especially after reset since Kain won’t be zerging them into spawn anymore. I hope to face them fair and square again some day.

I agree with your assessment, Light. Kaineng is allergic to siege. I think it’s one of our greatest areas for improvement. You’d think with EB on lockdown more often than not there’d be more of us in the JP, getting free siege, stocking up for the higher tiers… but I’ve barely seen anyone in there. I can’t even count how many times I go to a tower under attack and there are 2-5 people standing there staring at the door health whittle away with full supply in the tower and neighboring camp held. Guys: enemy attacking door? Arrow cart it from behind the door! It’s super easy. Buys a lot of time for reinforcements.

As for PUGs and communication… yea. It’s painful. We’ll see how we learn under more pressure but I don’t think much will change until then.

ETA: I’d also like to add that you don’t have to know where to put siege 100% of the time. I’m crap at placing it. Absolutely terrible. But you know someone else probably knows it better than you; don’t be afraid to ask where a good place would be! I personally just give most of my siege to my GL. So that’s not an excuse either for not having it on you or using it. Asking questions like that helps facilitate more communication too. Don’t be afraid to ask for help.

At least for my guild, we haven’t been playing W3 the last 2 weeks as a group. When I jump in (gotta get that alt beefed up somehow) I only stick to KBL and EB. If other small guilds are doing the same, which I suspect they are as I’ve seen them PvEing and SPVPing lately, all you’ll be left with to fight are zergs (of which there are plenty on K now). Sorry.

Guardians have challenges in wvw due to range ineptitude and being slower than obese turtles but I wouldn’t trade mine for a warrior because the survivability and crowd control is second to none in my experience. Though if you like bludgeoning people to death, you might have more fun with a warrior. Conversely, I just rolled an engie about 2 weeks ago and the versatility is a nice change of pace for me as I’ve played guard since launch and the learning curve is much gentler than the engie. So again the warrior might be better if you don’t want to suddenly be limited in your skills and roles more than you’ve been used to.

It will be extremely important, now more than ever, for us to remember our roots as we inevitably move up. Keep it classy, Kaineng. Big numbers shouldn’t mean a big head.

I had a lot of fun last night. ET and Fergie kept a fire lit under our kittens the entire time I was out there. It had been a while since I had a good fight because of holidays and such, and boy did I get it handed to me in droves.

Ferguson’s Crossing. They’re been dealt a bad hand for awhile now and still put out great fights week after week. It’s one thing to never get out of T8 like Kain; it’s an entirely different beast to be in a higher tier then fall into T8 and be stuck there for months and still have the morale these guys do. They’re nothing if not tenacious, have great defensive strats, and I just love ’em, what can I say? I hope they get the transfers in or the balanced match-up they deserve soon.

Ah this subject is a sore spot for you or something? Transfers out of low tier into your tier would not keep you queue-less forever in theory, no? Best case scenario that this recruiting gets any sizable amount of people to transfer: you have a queue again. Worst case: you still don’t have a queue, but you picked up a handful of professional zerg scrubs looking for map completion. In any case, I’m sorry I typed words that were wrong on the internet. Forgive me. Anyway, kind of irrelevant to the question. Fundamentally, my opinion is the same.

I don’t like it on principle, it seems to me like vulturing into low-morale servers is a bit tasteless. At the same time, like you said the people the lower tiers are losing to T1-3 recruiters probably aren’t very fantastic or helpful anyway. So have fun with more zerg-fodder and queues in T1, I guess. Sounds like a snooze to me.

I won’t lie, I feel bad for not really remembering the smaller Guilds. But I can barely remember the bigger ones and generally only do because I see them so often. And to be fair, I was in KAIN before it was big! So technically we were a kinda small Guild when I initially joined. :p

My point is this: Smaller Guilds are the backbone of all Servers, they are the ones in DR truly making them great, they are the ones in Kaineng who’ve kept us in the running this long. The problem is there’s a lot of them, so it’s kinda hard to really properly show you guys appreciation since we can’t really just say “Nicely done KAINENG GUILD NUMBER FOUR HUNDRED TWENTY THREE.” So to all you smaller Guilds that HAVEN’T abandoned us in WvW through thick and thing, thanks.

Naw, it’s not even about the individual recognition, or else we wouldn’t be in small guilds. I mean, I’m not even sporting my guild tag in my sig. I just don’t want people thinking their MegaGuild exists in a void where they are Supreme Doers of All the Things. I like KAIN, you’ve been around for ages and if I recall correctly built from the ground up and were one of the first really organized/sizeable guilds in W3, even while I was still puggin around as a wee level <40. So you know, props and whatnot for actually sticking around when you say you’re gonna. <3

ET, I really like you guys. I’d like this matchup to continue, the fights have been outrageous. Anyone joining you that you know of to strike some numbers balance? I think you fit in with us and Fergie very well.

The crappy thing about Kaineng’s guild exodus that went on for awhile is that it actually was abandoning the smaller guilds that have been there through it all, the ones not mentioned on the forums in the weekly matchups but were still out there every night feeding your keeps supply that apparently you and only you fought so hard to defend. We might not have had the numbers or coverage because we were smaller, but suddenly we were left high and dry because of the politics of the large guilds who couldn’t play nice with each other or figure out how to balance the game and their lives like adults. THEN people in the smaller guilds stopped playing, because Supply Camp Wars is dirty work and never ends. We’ve adapted since and got some fresh faces and are obviously fine, and I have no anger towards the free will of anyone to play where they want. It has seeded mistrust of transfers in general, but that has yet to be seen if it will affect us negatively. I hope the alliance found the support they were looking for back in DB. My point is, don’t lump me or the other 5-10 man guilds who dedicated everything to supporting you guys in with PUGs and fair weathers and expect me not to be a bit cheesed about the victim complex you all are sporting as if you were the only people on the field.

As Forest Gump would say, that’s all I got to say about that.

Better atmosphere right now in the game, what a relief tbh. Had a lot of fun last night at SM for sure. Caused some minor mischief in FCBL before heading over there to help defend, thor hammering people in the face with a giant candy cane and smiting with my princess wand. I felt like the Xmas Queen of Pain and Sparkles.

[SE] seem like a good bunch, funny in mapchat and very helpful overall. Excuse us if we’re catty since we kind of expect you to ditch us at the drop of a bad week, as many larger guilds have. But hey, maybe you’ll stick around. If you’re a guild on a different tier looking for a transfer and eyeing T8, please consider FC or ET and not bandwagoning K since we got a transfer in (seems to be the pattern anyway). We like even fights down here and right now we’re a little skewed for numbers.

Here are some screens from the [Ai][PRO] dance party. There were bunny bombs, banquets, naked dancing, clothed dancing, and tombstones. I dueled an engi and lost 3 out of 4 rounds (death by snow leopard once, I swear), reaffirming my alt choice of an engi cuz damn, that is a class I just know so little about. Anyway, we enjoyed ourselves. Laughs were had.

Naw. My best/most intense 1v1s are in the JP. Less likely to be interrupted. My guild likes to make games out of camping EBJP. It’s tons of fun, I recommend it. We used to pick out a guild du jour from the enemy server. We’d whisper them and tell them either “only your guild can pass” or conversely, tell others from the enemy server coming through that we were only targeting a specific guild that day, you can pass, but don’t try to help the targeted guild. We play another game now that it’s harder to communicate with the other server, but I’m gonna keep that game a secret in case my guild doesn’t want that info getting out. We like mind games. We never throw up siege though. If we’re gonna fight it’s gonna be fair and square.

In short, just have fun with it, if you don’t want to get camped or killed go back during a dead time for your swag.

Ah yea, we’re a bit rough around the edges. I’m trying to bring a friendlier voice to the forum to counter that as it seems needed. But Darxio is right, we really don’t want people with no spines and big heads. You’d think we’re not really in the position to be picky, but we don’t need people transferring and wasting everyone’s time because Kain wasn’t the server for them in the end. We want committed people who know who we are.

The PvE side can be annoying. But I don’t think I’d change our W3 for much. I like the core we have, I just want to attract more dedicated fighters instead of these wishy-washy map chat warriors that can’t take direction and leave after 1 week because no one wanted to beat their heads against Stonemist with them when we owned nothing else.

Perhaps it’s a problem of perspective. For Kain, 20 people IS a huge zerg to us. It’s typically the biggest group we can personally muster to one location barring a few above average turnouts during prime time. We know when we see one DR, you better turn around and run if you’re only with 2 or 3 others, because 15 more are about to bowl you over. The hydra-head on steroids server, we kill one and 15 more show up. That’s not a bad thing either, I’m not critiquing, that’s how it’s supposed to be. I think we just have a very narrowed idea of a zerg since the last time we fought anyone who outnumbered us that bad, you were down there with us and it was NS or BP. We’ve forgotten slightly what a billion invaders at every location actually looks like.

Anyone who has been down wind of him knows this is a blatant lie. I have seen people abandon trebs at 9/10th complete to escape his odoriferous emanations.

I admit, last night’s Pangloss camping over rode the ethereal scent of my diamond infused soap. I was too busy blocking entire armies with my grimy guardian face. The blood and torn flesh of my enemies festered in the crevices of my armor. To me it smells of glory, though to others I guess it smells of abandonment.
