Necro can kill thief, its all about the build you use and the utilties you bring with you to the fight.
for me, if im on point, it is either stalemate(when thief is being cautious) or the thief dies(when he is aggressive). I play basic wellmancer in pvp. thing is, when the thief play cautiously, he will eventually win the fight in regular 1v1, but since we on point and when thief spending too much time fighting me on point when i have it, he is useless to his team so he may kill me in the end, but I won the battle.
In wvw, it is different story entirely, and there thief can demolish you since he got huge space to maneuver and no reason to get at you closely.
If you play build that is about dmg with no sustain and slow lf regen, dont expect to win fights vs thief. Learn how to use the right build for every encounter.

for bound change when you dodge and stay on air the process would only start after you hit the land(that was before).and now you proccess it in midair if you do it from high enough. it is what I think.

its not 2v4 it is more like 2v1,then 2v1 then 2v2. If you fail to see that…and like I said that long 1v2 is nice but I question the one you fight against I think it is not video matrial, and w/o that there is no really outnumbered fight. Which is fine but the video shows little to nothign other than effects and I think you are good at editing but you need to calm down with it and put more raw footage.

The only 1v1’s you lose is against good thieves because they really have few boons to corrupt, and your sustain can’t keep up with thief DPS. Not to mention they can just shrug off that chill.

next hit shouldnt be the one you already fired tho it should be the one you fired while blind was on you.

Didnt know hwere else to put it but Isnt blind should get my next move miss? since somtimes I cast projectile and before it reach the enemy i get blinded and that projectile count as a miss even tho I fired it when I was not blinded. I know that applying logic in fantasy game is stupid but I think this is too unusual.

Warriors are head on fighters which deals heavy dmg to single target and can burst couple of targets . but targets with stab protection or aegis would be harder for warriors to compete while necros have the option to corrupt those.

boon corrupt is dead cuz every 2nd player in spvp takes herald. and I am not talking about 1v1 here this game is not about 1v1. I kill heralds 1v1 fairly easy managing my stab and dodges against thier CC but the problem occur when you have 3 guys on point one is herald one is random other class and you now need to corrupt more which is ridiculous and when you do they just regain it so basically in pvp match if you up against herald yoour corrupt skills are useless unless you fighting against classes which are not herald. and you rarly see no herald in spvp match.
And what i said is answering your question managing your shroud+having teammate for example tempest to provide swift protection regen and w/e can give you alot of sustain I once held off 10 ppl in wvw with tempest 2v10 we won and i have it on record even. And I was almost full berserker.

What if we will have health regen on shroud? I mean it is kinda stupid that mobility classes can just run away or hide behind obstacles when we are on shroud, they need to have the urge to fight us when we are on it…..

Lack of stability and focus fireability combined with lack of a decent ranged option will mean they will be even more simply singled out.
That is why when you add stab jsut to power aspects, power necro will have a role.
with what? Boon corruption is strong enough to be a role on it’s own in a boon heavy meta and is very difficult to replace. What will power necro role be that is relevnt and can’t be replaced easily by something which another class can do better.
When you add stab to the already sustained power necro you can be affective as bunker busting while staying on point. This will make power necros a really somthing to be feared in close range and not some ball you toss around.

In WvW, backlining with staff/wells is extremely fun, especially when you are sniping enemies for 10k with your homing Life Blast (now only does the higher tier damage rather than having it split between >600 and <600 with piercing baseline). But yes, for pve there are almost no cons unless you are in an area where melee is impossible.

Hey guys,
In the last 2 weeks I try helplessly contact Anet and complain about this(yes im that desperate).
Thing is, I think they balancing Necros in general according to condi necros rather than looking on the bigger picture. Which means that power necros get no attantion at all, which result in potencially losing the power side of necros for good. I started to worry about it when they nerfed “Rise!”, which to me is only because condi necros been too strong with it.
In my opinion, the thing they can do to balance out the power vs condi necro is to add to power traits such as Decimate defense, close to death, deadly strength or even Vampiric rituals and/or to add to greatsword/axe skills. What comes in my mind is to add stability on some of them for example nightfall on GS should tick stab on yourself.
Or make trait that wells gives stab to your party or just to you on use.
What do you guys think? does it make sense to you lot? or you think it is not enough? or you entirely think this is not the way? if so what is?
My only wish that they give us more stability options. that is all really. But it wont happen since condi necros exist and with the added stab they will be unstoappable.

Thank you for pointing this out. I feel like people decide if a patch is good or not based on their particular tunnel vision. By that, I mean if the skill or trait or whatever that they want buffed RIGHT NOW doesn’t get buffed, the patch to them is garbage regardless of any other positive changes.

While they buffed very certain thing in the general term called NECROMANCER they nerfed somthing that is shared amongst this general term. Why do people keep complaining about their 50% damage reduction skills being “over nerfed”? Can no one read?
All professions that had a skill that reduced damage by 50% got adjusted to 33%. This isn’t something specific to Necromancer. Rangers were crying about Guard being adjusted too. I would understand if it were only a few professions but it was all of them that had a skill with this kind of effect.
I’m really disgusted with these forums today. I know people always complain no matter what happens but this was a good patch and people are treating it like it’s going to be what makes them quit the game. For me, it’s probably going to be what makes me quit coming to the profession forums. Sick of seeing people who don’t know how to be grateful.

Mhhh yea power reaper is weird, you have no active defenses and really need to micromanage your posistioning and shroud use to survive.
1. I legit can’t win versus DH’s. Idk if it’s just me but it just feels like a complete counter against power reaper. It’s wayyyyy easier with condi reaper. Anyone else feel this way? :<
2. I don’t agree with what Ragion said concerning trading blows. Reaper has gotten a lot of dmg mitigation. Easy frost aura’s, almost perma rise uptime with shout trait and on top of that you take 10% less dmg from chilled enemies. Add shroud and spectral armor on top of that and you can pretty much be a tank while in full zerker gear like I do. On top of that, kiting and knowing when to engage/disengage will make it even harder for enemies to kill you.
Unlike condi reaper, to play power reaper you need some skills.3. And thanks Ragion
The greatsword has been a better weapon than that I first assumed. I love the pull (when it doesn’t bug out), and one proper gravedigger can change the tide of a battle…

I deal with DH, tough fight, but managable for me, I usally use nightfall on point bait thier block and dodge thier heavy hitters like spin to win and the beam-me-up-shorty-longbow skill, I usually beat them but the key, for me at least, is managing your reaper shroud agaisnt them. putting the stab on the right moment, and attacking them aggresively. My knowledge is from dueling DH countless times(about 100 times no joke).

Problem still there, after playing 3 and half years almost I cant play this game no more.
Tried everything, ISP saying nothing wrong, arenanet saying nothing wrong, even went far and did format(among other reasons) and still unplayable. it is so frustrating. Im on middle east-Israel.
It just seems to me you dont really have dmg on him as s/d like on d/p and I know d/p does more dmg but the gap in dmg is not like when I play for example.

I already went on several steps with Customer support over this and nothing has worked, tried to replace my DNS server which resulted with me having 0 ping and cant do anything but to move around(no even guilds are shown-likei m guildless) and cant write in chat and use skills ect.
Before that it been 2 months now im having betwin 100-400ms in daylight and about 3k-4kms at evenings. This is extremely annoying and I cant do nothing.unplayable.
It wasnt like this for 3 years im playing and I only changed my GPU and CPU in the duration.

It’s actually the best weapon set because you can dodge, strip boon, and attack all with the same move. You also get stealth and the ability to daze a target if you keep on them, with decent damage too. As if that wasn’t enough you get an extra shadowstep preparing an escape or gap close.

I played staff ele with cantrips and we did great. This is when the OP D/D ele was still there and we were able to overcome it.
You didnt have that last PvP season when playing non meta builds. This season will be different but saying wait for the nerfs of other classes isnt what i truly want. Warrior and other classes need to have multiple working builds that dont have to be OP but capable of having a impact on the game.
But it will happen and that is how anet works so nothing to do about it but to sit and wait. Like I said warrior is still in better spot than other classes saying you cant beat necro on ewual skill on point is false since CC zerk warrior can and just look at thief that can do nothing alone againstm ost of the classes and bound to +1.
Who are you playing because this is not true. Magic toker and caed during the last PvP season and in the ESL leagues won 1 vs 1 vs bunker mesmer/revanent/ and DH.
Once again if you read my previous post if your playing a zerk warrior how does it compare vs other zerk builds? Im sorry but maybe a bad necro loses to a zerk warrior which is why we saw so many to counter the necros in the ESL league, oh wait they were not there.
Maybe im wrong but with the boost to necros and thieves and these classes were already really good in the hands of really good players only got stronger and you keep saying warrior counters necro when its simply not true and watching the necro streamers of the game show it.

If you have any sort of corruption now you should be able to crush any Rifle Berserker now. Force the Berserker’s Stance, corrupt, pile on the condis.
If you don’t wanna go down that path that’s your choice, but now Necros/Reapers are back to almost hardcountering many Warrior builds.
A proper rifle warri wont use berserk stance,that means he has sig of fury prob,that means he has full adren at the start of a fight and able to pull of a gunflame early.other than that its a matter of using rush to get out of range so gunflame can recharge and then blast again,most necs are easy to handle on gs/rifle even without any cleansing.
A proper rifle warrior would not run this kittenty one trick pony signet.
Best way to deal with them is to keep 1 stun break and hold your RS untill you get high stack of vournability(above 9) this is when they use it, if they use it anyway it is prolly after they use the rifle barrage attack, so wait for b arrage attack and wait 1 2 sec then use RS#2 and if they change to gs just get out of shroud and CC them or build your lf again.
They are more important issues with that skill.
Zerg surfing was a term made by thieves, basically the x/dagger thieves which were C&d-ing ppl in enemy zerg, which usually ppl are mindless there and dont care somone C&d-ing them on the way. This is what I rememebr this term originated from.
I have it, I love the weapon, but it is much cooler on ranger as the bouncing Astralaria is sweet looking. Too bad ranger axe is arguably worse than warrior axe which is saying something.

when the reaper released I didn’t give much credit to the greatsword that came along with it, but after really trying it out (20+ matches with a fitting build) I’ve fallen in love with it

Yeah no. All of those blinds have animations you can see. The only blinds that don’t are currently not used in PvP due to other parts of the skill being weak.
All I’m really getting from your arguments is that you want the skill harder to avoid because you don’t have good awareness.
You will know what im talking about. Eventually. Awareness got nothing to do with it. But my awareness is not at highest since I mostly play after work and during but that is by no means the problem since blind applies before you can react and somtiems comes after you have bunch of other condies it is hard so yeah I dont have super awareness like you do. Care to comment on the 2nd suggestion?
The greatsword has been a better weapon than that I first assumed. I love the pull (when it doesn’t bug out), and one proper gravedigger can change the tide of a battle…
