I simply disagree. It is beginner friendly. I have found the perma stealth thief to be laughably opd, able to troll 5+ enemies without any trouble. It’s the worst mechanic I have ever experienced, even though I’ve benefitted from it.

lol as a thief, I laugh everytime 5+ people swing wildly in the air looking for me. I can stealth in the middle of combat even while getting hit. It’s laughably op’d. most of my fellow thieves are such horrible players that they constantly complain that their class is underpowered! hahahahah what a hoot. clearly a l2p issue, since many of us thieves run over multiple players all the time. L2P your own profession before you make any attempts at doing likewise for others.

Most of the time, the players that complain about thieves’ stealth are the one who have never played the profession and doesn’t understand how it’s combat progresses. Explaining how the thief weighs and balances decisions is like explaining how a chess game will play out so the best thing one can do in any situation is gain firsthand experience.

BG put in a lot of effort. The server organized and people stayed up late or logged on earlier than normal. Lots of people did boring stuff with escorting dolyaks and placing siege. There was a lot of effort put into ensuring the win.

I honestly don’t think the upcoming patch is going to be a nerf for Thieves.

It may change things up a little but not to the point of making currently popular builds completely unviable. I know this is against the popular opinion here but I don’t think people have quite grasped what the 1 Initiative/second actually means in real game-play (as opposed to crunching numbers on a spreadsheet).

ANet said that they think it’s wrong use of abilities, so they’re going to nerf certain traits and change the initiative regeneration so that it will be impossible to do it using only weapons. They find it ok to perma stealth for longer periods of time if this requires you to sacrifice traits and utility skills to do so. And I agree with them. D/P needed a nerf, and now they get it.

They’re also ruining sword. The only reason for most people to play it was the fact that they could teleport a lot. From 10th of december you’ll see thieves using Infiltrator’s Strike – getting stun-locked and unable to use Shadow Return. In other words, they’ll appear and be insta-killed. W2G ANet.

I disagree that they are ruining sword. They are opening other options now. Thieves who get insta killed are glass cannon specced and may need to put some effort into survivability, just as other classes must do.

Yeah, it really opens up options when everything sucks. Bring down the remaining 1.5 viable builds to be on par with the less viable ones and BOOM… you have a selection of suck to choose from.

Well done, anet. Now those who play for trinkets can free up the queues for the rest of us who don’t.

In decent games you can’t stealth while attacking. Once you attack, you are committed. None of this hit, stealth, regain HP. Attack, stealth no sense. This game has the single worst stealth mechanic ever in any game.

And infinitely more enjoyable to get. Kudos to anet for not over rewarding stacking servers.

Expecially for www some called this build a paraphrase of “beginner friendly”.

It isn’t beginner friendly. The low HP and Armor means that the player does not have any room for mistakes. Most of their traits and stat allocation will be focused on damage so they wont have very many survivability traits, if at all.

Since thieves lack decent healing and condition removal, killing them is a matter of who hits the hardest first. A little bit of situation awareness and timing will go a long way.

I have to give to props to Anet for the season one rewards. Perfect execution, and I am not trolling here. Winning gets a slightly better reward but not so overwhelming to drive server transfers. The rewards are sufficiently small that people who play for shiny trinkets are motivated to stay with game elements that they enjoy with the shiny trinkets they desire, freeing up our WvWvW queues for those of us who love the thrill of wvw. Good call, and accept my sincere thanks.

Kudos to Anet. I don’t care about the rewards. People who do may want to consider other games, because this game should be about the game play. Certainly the wvw part. I have to chuckle at the servers who bribed other servers to transfer though. Lol. Hope it was worth all that gold! Thank you Anet. now perhaps the wvw players can get their wvw experience back.

Thieves are getting improved with the next patch. Anet said a massive init improvement. I am excited to try the changes on my thief. Ys we are losing permastealth at least easy perma stealth, but anet said that was an abuse of the mechanics. So that’s an exploit fix, not a nerf.

I am from SoR and from what I have seen lately I dont think we are going to do much next week… I dont see the big WvW guilds in good numbers anymore… I do not know if any guild left or why SoR is not showing as it did in the past but the fact is we are not fighting as before.

If TC gets the second place for this match the third place of the season is theirs, they will certainly win their last match and SoR would have to win the last round against BG and JQ… and I cant see this happening.

Event if we can get second today TC will tie with us, I do not know what ANet will do with ties.

We had good fights during this season, it was fun and brought some new challenges in WvW… unfortunally SoR could not get the place I expected, I just hope the big guilds will not transfer because of that, we have a very strong community here and it would be sad to see it breaking.
