If the event turns into a “ghost town” after this fortnight is over, they ArenaNet will have learnt a lesson from that.
*cough*Karka Queen*cough*months later
Fine! “…should have learnt a lesson…”
They’re working on trying to give people reasons to go to the more far flung reaches of the maps all the time. I’ve not met a player yet who considers Karka Queen to be worth the hassle. I predict the same may happen with Tequatl.
(edited by Sarie.1630)
The only thing players can do at this point is wait and see.
If the event turns into a “ghost town” after this fortnight is over, then ArenaNet will have learnt a lesson from that. I’m on the fence. I sure as hell wont be fighting Teq much – disliking boss events as I do, I avoid them unless I’m wanting Dragonite ore, and the others provide a far easier route through which to obtain that.
The “Tequatl Weapon Skins” also-known-as “Standard Ascended Skins with Black Drippy Bits” don’t entice me to play it more. Neither does the prospect of the Mini Pet. I wonder if this will be the same for many players, or if they really do find these rewards enough to continue participating.
As I say – the next 2 weeks are a wait and see game. Will only the very top “PvE Servers” manage to kill it? What kind of message will that send out? Ghost Town?… I’m leaning more to thinking yes. Time will tell.
You always see players screaming for “harder content”. I’d love to see a boss that even the devs can’t kill. Stick it in a Labrynthine Cliffs size zone so that it’s not “messing” with any other PvE, and if anyone finds a way to beat it – buff it up. The continually evolving unbeatable boss! Perfect! Might help quench the thirst of those players who only ever “want it harder”.

MFranco, I think your return key has fallen off…
I think he rebound parentheses to it.
Couldn’t read any further than 3 lines. Consider reformatting.
whattttttttttttttttttttttttttt………………………
Yeah. He was harder than Zhaitan even pre-update. I can see why you thought what you did.
People actually care that Anet is providing something that doesn’t require standing in one place, and spamming “1”.
I am confident that the only difference between Old and New Tequatl will be that this time you need to move to a different location to spam 1 for a while.
New Tequatl does two things:
1. DPS Check.
2. Dodge Check.
Too many people are dying to his waves. Too many people could really learn to jump or dodge or block those waves a lot better. If you solve 2, 1 should sort itself out – unless everyone is rolling blue/green gear which… for a L65 area… isn’t…entirely…unbelieveable.
lol.
Once Players learn to avoid his waves better they will just get back to spamming 1 again. Oh yea, I know some people are on turret duty – I’m being mildly flippant but I don’t think I’m over-exaggerating too much.
As it stands players downing to waves causes a massive drop in damage dealt as other players who managed to avoid the damage are then having to revive the downed players. It has a far larger effect than you initially think.
How is this hardcore? Because of the difficulty? Are you saying all casual gamers are easy mode?
The only reason you all failed was because you had no clue what to do.
Its pathetic when anything other than just pressing #1 is considered hardcore!
Thing is, it still kinda is just about Pressing 1. There are just phases to it now, and you need to go somewhere else to press 1 from time to time. The group killing Tequatl presses 1 and the group killing the fingers presses 1. The group defending the turrets gets some variation I guess.
My biggest problem with it so far is that people just don’t seem to be able to throw out enough damage at Tequatl. I see three reasons for this:
1. Players running the wrong gear sets, not maxing out Power and defensive stats vs non-crittable foes. Also, players running non-max gear sets.
2. Players not quite knowing how many resources to apportion to the different elements of the fight (turret defense, finger slaughtering, Tequatl DPSing).
3. Players dying too easily to fight mechanics, especially the Waves. More damage is lost in reviving downed players… then there are those who lie there fully dead because they can’t be bothered running back.
I’m hopeful that eventually these teething problems will sort themselves out. Of course, it relies on players getting better, and this may take time – a lot of time.
I have no problem with the difficulty. I think for those players wanting a sense of achievement for completing something – Tequatl should fit that bill. It should take a few weeks for a server to figure out how to beat it, and subsequent beatings should, frankly, be quite rare.
I do think the nail has been hit on the head though. I also don’t believe that it will be as widely farmed as it has been in the past. I know that I wont be trying to bring him down on cooldown, daily, or possibly even weekly. I’ve never been one for boss events though so perhaps I’m a bad case study. I’ll do them for Dragonite Ore, but since I dislike being timetabled by their spawns I have previously not bothered completing them. Tequatl will suffer from more of that from me as it may never be worth the time investment. Minis? …Meh. “Unique” Tequatl skins? …Meh. Achievements? … Hmm, OK – but they wont last forever.
It’s called having a personality. :P As I said in an earlier post, there are some shockingly oversensitive people on this forum, moreso than myself (and I am extremely thin-skinned) so that is actually quite frightening.
If “professional” are the aforementioned scripted, uninformative, dismissive replies that just about every other dev on these forums gives (once in a blue moon) then I will gladly take personality even if it means the occasional user unnecessarily gets their knickers in a twist.
Yes. The manner of his posts does give him a “personality”. You’re right. No personality I’d ever want to be associated with.
I’m also not saying that I really love the Colin brand of “it’s on the list, guys” responses. I always thought ArenaNet could do more to communicate with it’s players. The way Josh approaches the forums, however, is not it. I am glad they appear to have recognized that.
The devs posting on the forum are representing the game and ArenaNet. They need to be the best they can be. If one dev steps out of line, what’s the chance that every other player will not use that as an excuse to do the same? People love to scrap and argue on forums, others love to encourage it because “scandal and fights are fun”.
Josh was awesome bring him back! Screw this corporate BS!
I’m going to get torn apart for this but… meh.
His content might be fun. His posting style on the forums, however, whilst a lot of forum users love it since they get banter going between themselves and the dev, I found to be abrasive and borderline trolling/inflammatory. Sure, everyone loves a rogue, that one team member who doesn’t play by the rules. So many times I saw him post something, only to turn around a few posts later to say “Oh, sorry guys, I didn’t mean it like that”. Sure, Josh.
He was unprofessional.
If S.A.B. is dying, perhaps the vocal minority is right here on the forums, supporting it. I don’t mind it either way. It’s content I don’t mind doing. Presumably though, if it’s “dying”, you have all those other players who “aren’t coming back for that kitten” to blame. Josh’s blog post certainly seemed to imply this was the case.
I’m really struggling to get this thing open too.
Check 1: Yes, I have learnt the tune from the little shop in a previous zone. I’ve been in there twice before, with only me in the party.
I am doing W2Z3 TM again for these final two shops behind that door. The door just refuses to open. 50 deaths or so now, I think. I know, I know I am playing the notes in the right order. I am trying to play them as late as I possibly can to try to ensure I am as close to the door as possible. Still it refuses to open.
Whether or not it opens, based on previous runs, seems to be pure molten luck.
Whilst I haven’t formally “QQ’d” about fortnightly living story releases I have thought to myself from time to time how nice it would be to do something in game that I want to do rather than feeling Like I should complete all the living story content/achievements to their fullest. That makes it sound like I dislike living story, which isn’t generally true, but I feel like breaks as we seem to be having this month with SAB and Tequatl finally allow me time to work on stuff I’ve been meaning to for a while.
What I worry is: next month is Mad Kings Day, presumably. December will bring Wintersday. Potentially more months with only festival content. I seem to remember a dev, maybe Colin, mention that festivals will cause them less work as they have been fleshed out in Year 1. Does this mean we will get actual story content alongside them? Doubtful. Guess we will have to wait and see.
I have never seen an actual need to use either elite you can pick up. I completely forget it’s there! I’ll try it on the Yeti next time I visit him, since you mention it… if I remember that skill exists!
Same as Naglifar. Falling the full height of 2-3 tribulation mode I saw some of the rainbow bridges appearing as I got lower. Made me chuckle.
Step by Step guide:
- Go into the Super Adventure Hub
- Search for the house with a “3” printed on it
- Go in it
- Profit!
Gah. Seriously?
I figured it was part of the “World 3” at the end of the World 2…
Obvious, like I thought. Thanks for the walkthrough!!
I cannot find this guy.
Don’t laugh. I know you are.
Genuinely though, feel like I’m being really blind. Can’t see any walls to bomb, or passages. What completely obvious thing am I totally missing?
The new build fixed the shop in World 1 Zone 2. Just got it.
Which shop was fixed though, the one at root level?
From what I noticed from the waterspouts in the jumping puzzle underneath the Adventure Box hub, the knockback actually happens if you are in the air while the previous waterspout dissappears.
That sounds like a horrifically small jumping window. It also seems very unfair if it’s the case… Jumping to a ledge only to be told, after you pretty much landed “lol, sorry bud, the previous ledge fell away so we’re retrospectively knocking you down too trololol”.
You need to jump when they all spurt at the same time and go as fast as you can to the third one. Then wait on the third one for a second until the next one appears and jump to it. Note that the spouts after this are even harder. Once you reach the next rock you again start jumping when they all spurt at the same time, and again wait on the third one for a second and jump to the fourth one and then into the waterfall (there is a ledge behind it)
Thanks for that advice. Next time I feel like trying I’ll definitely try this!
those two, jump on two sprouts and ignore the third one – go straight for the rocks on the right.
How do those rocks help? Surely you still have to jump onto spouts 2 and 3 to progress?
(edited by Sarie.1630)
I’m Frustrated.
I completed World 1 Tribulation Mode and never found it as frustrating as World 2 Zone 1 Normal Mode.
See the video below. I cannot make the jumps onto the water spouts next to this mini waterfall. What am I doing wrong? Is the Waterfall hit box too large? Am I not jumping to the right place? I’m completely stuck and cannot pass these few seemingly simple jumps.
I know better than to ask for a tiny, tiny nerf on whatever is knocking me back as the S.A.B.’s creator always seems to get very defensive on this forum if anyone tries to claim parts are too hard. For clarification, the preceeding water spouts are no problem at all, so I assume the edges of them do not knock you back? My assumption is my problem is to do with the waterfall. I cannot manage these jumps… any advice would be great! Would be a real kick in the nuts if I cannot access any other part because of one jump near the start I cannot do.
[Apologies for background noise in the video, forgot my desk fan was running and my Mic was turned on!]
Also stuck on 10/11.
As an FYI – the shop at root level in W1Z2 – you can jump onto the roots inside the shop so as not to touch the floor to take the red bauble and move around a bit. Tried jumping around that shop for some time and couldn’t get 11/11… I guess the 11th is elsewhere?
the community farmed an insane amount of money and people are complaining? this is not pay to win since it costs 30g which is easily obtained…
you didn’t farm anything, silly
you get 300 gold from farming, then you spend 300 gold to level crafting from 400-500 on 3 characters, and you buy an infinite coin and miniatures and finisher
you didn’t farm anything, lol
Or if you’re sensible about it, you farm 300 gold, then only spend 20 gold levelling one craft to 450 on day 1 so you can make the time-gated crafts, and either gather the rest of the mats for levelling yourself or wait for prices to fall.
I don’t think that paying for an infinite continue coin with in-game gold will be even a drop in the ocean for most.
Is it too hard? Respect the awesome work

1. The zones are too long
You are complaining about too much content.
That’s not a very diplomatic response now, is it? It’s a bit of a smart-kitten response.
The zones are too long means that many people, including myself, don’t necessarily want to be caught up in an instance for hours at a time trying to complete just one zone. I’ve only tried all zones in Infantile Mode at the moment, to kind of get the lay-of-the-land, but going through Zone 2…. holy dwayna…. that’s seriously long, even when you’re skipping most of it with the rainbow tracks.
I get that it’s in ArenaNet’s interests to keep people playing the game as much as possible, but I don’t know of anyone who enjoys being locked in an instance for as long as you evidently need to be to complete Zone 2. Just makes people resentful, really, especially when the last living story’s actual story was so … disappointing. When (and more importantly, If) I finally come to try this legit I’ll need to put a whole day aside, methinks.
(edited by Sarie.1630)
However, this story really just feels like your shooting from the hip.
I made a similar complaint here:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/livingworld/speech/Unexplained-Story-elements/first#post2680949
Other players basically told me either “Just enjoy the farming” or to “wait two weeks and see what happens”.
I am sick, sick of the zergfarm events. They tell no story, and in fact, they confuse more than they explain. It has since come to my attention that Queen Jennah will be making her “real speech” later on (this was mentioned on their Twitch channel). If it’s anything less than “We’re opening the Desert Gate alongside Ebonhawke – Have at ye, Kralkatorrik!” I shall be disappointed.
Guess I’ll be disappointed then.
I’ve yet to be in an event where Scarlet is killed. Just before death, she goes invulnerable and portals out. Apparently, she knows a lot about portals. I still think she was at the Thaumanova reactor when it blew up.
When you “Kill” Scarlet at the end of a zone’s meta chain she makes a comment about the mists not being ready for her, gives a dying chuckle, then the players can “Finish Her!”.
As far as I can see, she dies. Dies! Dies! Dies! Dies! Dies! Dies! (see what I did there?)
She does go invulnerable, you are right. From what I can see, this is just to give her time to chunter her dying words.
This wonderful guy explains my issues with this patch far more eloquently than I have:
I’m not surprised, though it depresses me greatly that so many players are happy to overlook badly implemented content when there is “great farming opportunities”. Most of the players I’ve spoken to about this say one of two things:
1. “Can’t you just be happy with the farming?”
2. “Omg y u so impatient why can’t you wait 2 weeks”
In response:
1. No.
2. THIS LIVING STORY CHAIN HAS BEEN RUNNING SINCE JANUARY AND WE STILL PRETTY MUCH ONLY KNOW THE NAMES OF SOME OF THE BADDIES.
I. Am. Getting. Bored.
I like stories. I like Guild Wars because of the story. This patch was super-hyped – not even really by the players this time – ArenaNet’s (usually cool) brand of intrigue and mystery was in full force. I am, of course, speaking of defacing the Queen’s Speech page, and sending out the poems/watches to fansites. They have not delivered sufficiently, for me, with regards to the story.
Tobias, your post was so horribly formatted :p
For the riches. Didn’t you get they were pirates the first time they were introduced? Captain Mai Trin was angling for a seat at Lion’s Arch. (And probably Scarlet was too, until that failed so hard it bounced.) Promise people glory and riches and you will always get takers if you look like you can follow up on it. Scarlet does, and I’d place it as highly probable they now follow her out of fear instead of greed.
Thanks for the history lesson. Doesn’t explain anything I wanted to know though.
“Fourthly, these invasions. If you fail, nothing happens. Nothing. Nada. Why no consequences? "
Because the invasions aren’t as important as what she’s doing elsewhere. That’s what I’m reading into it. Also, the invasions shut down a zone pretty thoroughly for 45 minutes, so in technical terms it’s probably better that if the event fails (i.e. you don’t clear all the way to Scarlet Briar and then kill her) . . . and it DOES more often than it doesn’t . . . there’d be a ton of zones accumulating problems in them which would pretty much never get solved.
“Yes. I meant story driven consequences.”
Because it’s been just over 24 hours since it started and lasting effects probably won’t be left until the next team’s release after this is out.
ArenaNet have already said the invasions will continue “at a reduced rate” after this event is over. No stop date has been uttered to my knowledge so, these go on forever I assume. So you really think that two weeks will make a difference? Ok, I guess we’ll wait and see who’s right. Just to say:
In b4 no real consequences.
Slow story telling speed is only one of my complaints anyway. At the moment it’s like reading one line of a novel every 2 weeks.
I think you’re only hurting yourself here by drawing conclusions so early. Perhaps they do and that question will be answered soon enough. You don’t know, stop making assumptions. It will, in my opinion, only make the experience all the more sour.
I read that and hear: “Go sit quietly in a corner and wait for them to get it right”.
No.
Finding out how she did it will probably come sometime around 2016
Fixed that for you!
Incidentally I’ve no problem with the events for what their purpose is: Making shedloads of cash. There seems to be zero integrity to them story-wise.
I doubt it was abrupt, or a surprise to them. Did Mike O’brien gather the design team the day before the Queen’s Speech was due to be released to say:
“Guys, change of plan… you have one day to design and implement the all new Clockwork Chaos event, sorry about trolling you all with the Queen’s Speech”.
Queen’s Speech always was a setup, it’s usual Anet theatrics… which I really like, until they don’t deliver on story content as they really haven’t this time. “A different place to farm” is pretty much all it is.
(edited by Sarie.1630)
Patch has been out for two days. Give it time padawan.
Given other patches haven’t really updated anything other than bug fixes between the fortnightly updates, I don’t see this going anywhere else.
As Scarlet is a “personal nemesis” I reckon she’ll be popping up here and there for years to come. One of those people you “just can’t pin down” (except y’know, when you kill her over and over in events).
I was expecting far more of a conclusion than we got, and I’m feeling a bit disappointed.
I seem to recall a post from a dev stating that this current living story event would draw together all the strands of the living story. Has it? I think not, at least not sufficiently.
My first major beef with this update is the number of times you freakin’ kill Scarlet. She pops up on the successful conclusion of an invasion to have her kitten handed to her. She also pops up three times in the Funhouse instance, and each time her HP falls to zero but she doesn’t die.
I just… I can’t accept that after all these “killings” she’s not actually, y’know… dead. Why is she not? Why does she keep coming back for more? More importantly… HOW does she keep coming back for more? Did I miss something?
Onto my second problem. Flame and Frost, the Molten Alliance. I am yet to find any information on how she may have coerced the Flame Legion and Dredge into forming an alliance, and why they are prepared to fight for her during these invasions. In addition… where has the Molten Alliance been since we last saw them?
Third issue. I am still unclear about where the Aetherblades and Steam Creatures came from. The Asura Infinity Ball Personal Story choice makes the Steam Creatures out to be linked somehow with that player character, or at least Shodd? I suppose they might be incidental. And the Aetherblades? Who set them up? Where do they hide? How are the “steam portals” created and what’s on the other side?
Fourthly, these invasions. If you fail, nothing happens. Nothing. Nada. Why no consequences? Surely if your attempts to stop her invasion fail, her minions should have successfully infiltrated that zone? Apparently they don’t care about it all that much once they got their foot in the door. It’s very easy to take one look at these events and think “wow, these are great”… but… there’s no consequences for failing. “kitten kitten you get less rewards, newb!”. Yes. I meant story driven consequences.
The story this time, ArenaNet, seems sloppy to me. Everything seems too convenient. I will certainly be glad when this farmfest of an event is over, and that is all it apparently is.
Just to lighten the mood of this thread… Clockwork creatures – very nicely done. I love their animations, especially the big guys who start out on all fours. I also like the mechanics of fighting Scarlett in the Funhouse, when you’re solo running it. The impressiveness of it, however, does not make up for what I see as a lack of story details. I also understand that you love your mystery and intrigue and maybe you’re trying to eek it out longer but sometimes I can’t help but think it drags on too long. After all this time I find myself really tiring of Aetherblades and really want to see the back of them.
Dragons, please.
(edited by Sarie.1630)
The far larger problem I have is that we kill her, kill her again, kill her again… every successful invasion foiling. In Scarlet’s Funhouse her HP reach zero three times. How many times do we need to “kill” her before she’s… y’know… dead.
Well if you think about it next patch definitely will be focused on 5-man and personal content if you realize what it is
Huh…?
If you’re referring to Scarlet’s Funhouse, you can do it now, and it’s easily soloable even though you can 5-man it.
I’m… confused.
What did I miss?
I see no obvious achievement linked to this, can you explain?
Likely, more to come once the Playhouse becomes available.
I really hope so. I knew beforehand that this update would bring together all living story threads so far, but I still found myself going out into the world after the closing ceremony, seeing Molten Alliance, and thinking “wait..what?”.
I don’t understand why they’re all fighting for her, and also, why Scarlet can just come back once you “kill” her. When she dies, why do her invasions not stop? When she dies, why does she just come back during the next invasion. It..just..doesn’t..make..sense.
I honestly can’t fathom where people could start defending the Nightmare Court as not evil.
Well I suspect Nightmare Court don’t consider themselves to be evil. The same can be said of Sons of Svanir, Inquest, White Mantle, Flame Legion, etc. It’s just a “different agenda”, one which they consider to be good, as it is in their interests. As a player who has been lead around by the story, and that sexy beast Trahearne, I consider them all to be evil. Perhaps some players do not…says a lot about them!
If WP started crediting people for their theories, at some point we’ll have the scenario whereby he credits someone who had the same idea as someone else. It’ll just end up being a battle of “who came up with it first”, which can only get ugly. Either that, or Konig Fanboys march on Seattle petitioning ArenaNet to ban WP from making any more videos.
If you use some elses research, it’s common to give them proper credit. In some cases not properly crediting your sources can make you loose your job. Don’t believe me? Karl Theodor zu Guttenberg, formerly germanies minister of defense. Not anymore. Why? Because he didn’t credit his sources in doctoral thesis. When a journalist found this out, he lost his doctor title and his job.
Now this is just a game, but giving credit where credit’s due, is just decent human behaviour.
It’s a lore video, made by a guy who likes making videos. They entertain many people, myself included. And do you know what? I don’t even care who came up with the theories, even if he did find a way to ascertain who really was the very first person to come up with a theory (which I imagine is far easier said than done in some cases).
His videos are concise snippets of lore and theorising. He always seems to make clear what is theory and what is in-game fact. Anyone who has spent any time on these forums knows that “The Great and Powerful Konig” is the self proclaimed god of lore anyway, so there’s a pretty decent bet who came up with the initial theory in the first place.
Frankly, anyone watching a video that’s not from ArenaNet’s official channel really should be taking it with a pinch of salt anyway. If it ‘aint from ArenaNet’s official channel there’s a good chance it’s all just a pack of lies. Whilst I love watching WP’s videos for a variety of reasons, I always run by this basic principle.
So please, get off your high horse… or correct all my grammar like forum-goers usually resort to. That’s the next logical step, right?
(edited by Sarie.1630)
I believe I already called this in another thread!
It’s my current favourite prediction about what will occur, if only because it will make Logan cry like a lost puppy.
This wont end well.
It actually sounds a lot more reasonable than some of the other theories I won’t mention.
Thanks!
It’s pretty loosely thought out, but, I had to wonder if there were other factions out there that these colours could be related to I’d overlooked. Flame Legion = Black, that could certainly fit given The Queen’s Speech will be a culmination of the Living Story so far.
Black for the Black Lion Trading Company made me smile. Evon will have his revenge!
Scarlett’s defacement of the Queens Speech page uses three colours; Black, Red and Green.
Can anyone see any significance to these?
A minor theory I had kept to the back of my mind regarding the Aetherblades was the diplomacy talks in Brisban Wildlands. These see the bringing together of Inquest, Nightmare Court and Bandits. We have already seen Inquest involvement in the Aetherblades, and Aetherblades themselves are “pirates”, which could equally mean “organised bandits”? Now we see a mysterious Sylvari character who is apparently also in league with the Aetherblades.
It’s a very big longshot. Could the Red paint symbolise Inquest, the Green paint symbolise Nightmare Court and the Black paint symbolise Bandits? Are the Aetherblades the result of the collusion of these three “evil” factions? The Aetherblades comprise Charr and Norn also, which does somewhat make this thinking a little less realistic.
I’d love to see this eventually open up the Maguuma Wastes, where perhaps this alliance is concealing itself for the most part.
I’m not convinced even by my own loosely-strung-together theories really, there are many other delicious ones, but has anyone else seen any connection between the Black, Red and Green paints? I refuse to believe they are random choices.
Sparcus is really Risen Bonfazz Burntfur.
Aside from being dead, Zhaitan ‘aint got time for that. He’s too busy “rising” all the Krill…
This is a clue to why queen that is on throne now is not real queen.
during opening ceremony after attack of eatherblades we had to track down mysterious figure were was the queen at that time? She was standing all by herself aside she must likely been replaced during that moment because that mysterious figure didn’t even think of attacking us she was served as a destruction for queens kidnapping.
I’ve said in another thread, I think the current Queen may be a Watchknight, and we’ll have to rescue the real one while Logan cries in a corner like a lonely puppy.
With the poem, graffiti, etc.. I’m having some second thoughts about it. Too many delicious theories, really.
Slime….up the darkness?
Starting off as the first basic rank “Grunt”
Which, oddly enough, is what every single one of their utility skills is called.
Why do People hate Logan?
Logan gets Asuras killed, and is annoyingly obsessed with the Queen. He also has silly hair, and oh, it’s “cool” to hate on Logan.
(edited by Sarie.1630)
I’m calling it now.
Queen Jennah’s going to use this “I have something special to tell you all” speech as a way of gathering people to her. It will then transpire that she is a watchknight in disguise herself. Bring on the Battle of Divinity’s Reach, Mr. Aetherblade. I smell a mission to rescue the captured Queen Jennah…and Logan totally freaking out, naturally.
Don’t agree on a title for completing Liadri, the minipet is nice. It would, however, make sense to place a title on the secondary Liadri achievement.
If you want to make the world bosses more challenging, that’s great but make them instanced.
“Instanced” “World Boss” is a bit of an oxymoron, no?
I call that a dungeon. :p
Recently I’ve been playing a lot more Necro and Thief than I ever have before.
So, ArenaNet. Dark Spear and Tow Line. Who had the idea for these skills?
“Duh, I know guys, let’s give them a skill that pulls them to melee range, then stuns the user for longer than the mob they’re fighting. This’ll be great, all players are gonna love this skill, huh guys?”
Honestly? Is there some “hidden balance” issue here or are these skills pure junk? I know underwater combat could do with a bit of a refresh anyway, but these kind of skills are surely the worst of the worst.
I pick who I revive carefully.
If myself and a fellow player are lying on the gantry dead at the same time, I will go and revive at waypoint, run back. If they do not, I will not revive them. It’s unbelievably cheeky to just wait around perpetually for others to respawn so you don’t have to run back.
