It totally depends on party make up and where your at. As a shout heal warrior with soldier runes if I’m running with 4 glass that can’t stay up I’m not going to run banners. If dying isn’t an issue then I’ll use some banners, in wvw I just don’t use banners they just not as reliable healing source as shouts for roaming.

On something like lupi I make all the warriors run warbanners.

I have fully geared, warrior thief mesmer and guardian.

The warrior I use for commanding and is a fairly tanky shout heal soldier rune build, front lines is no problem, killshots hit for 6-8k and about 8-10k for a 100blades, able to stay alive even with commander aggro and do decent burst. My biggest issue with warrior is running to get back to zerg is plain dangerous, small ops is good but again you have no escapes. See 4 guys in the distance? pretty wp now or your dead.

My guardian is immortal spec, mace shield & staff, does pretty much no damage. fun on the front line and but its weakness is people bursting it down. I feel much more comfortable roaming etc on my guardian, im not going to kill anyone, but they are going to have to put some serious effort in to take the guardian down.

So currently I do prefer the warrior over guardian in wvw.

That said to compare both to my survival thief, 8k backstabs, 7k spammable heartseekers, can walk around the map solo all day and not care, because no one will ever catch you. Dagger storm the front lines. Big damage and broken survivability.

This is quite the nerf to my build and playstyle, which is 10/0/20/30/10 beserkers power and heightened focus make my build work, not to mention all the time I put into legendary and gear for this build (full ascended etc)

if these changes are true I cant see any reason why id take my warrior into wvw over my thief or guardian, that goes for dungeons too

SoS has done training for a long time, it’s just hard to get it it to stick without dedicated wvw guilds to reinforce it.

If Servers want to teach us something, show us something new.

None of this look at us sos look at us, we are doing portal bombs, learn from us

The problem with pvt is they can’t kill anything without larger numbers, I had a thief jump me while I was on an AC and I didn’t even have to get off to heal, wasn’t even getting through my regen. A warrior is generally a free kill for a thief.

t1 tactics I guess, send 5 pvt thieves to kill 1 person

ive seen groups of asuras with tpvp titles in wvw, they generally just run full bunkers and do a lot of running away.

assuming SoR had the night off, was a fun to fight some IRON guys on sos bl

The only emotes I’ve received this week have been from SoS players but I wouldn’t try and suggest that that your whole server is accountable for the actions of a few.

To my mind players who emote to try and taunt other players are either adolescents or have an adolescent mentality. Either way, they’re not worth worrying about. No one respects graceless bad sports.

confusion plays into the shatter spec, so it was a nerf to that also, same as the attempts to nerf dagger dagger bunker ele’s affected staff eles

it used to be fairly interesting, glamour spec was the problem more than the condition itself. The way it was changed just nerfed many builds that were not abusing it

Enjoying this matchup, getting lots more open field which I enjoy. Remember a lot of us on SoS are Tier1 veterans just we are mostly militia now. I look at our zerg and see 20 different guilds and and look across the field and see a 30-40man enemy zerg all the same guild might stacking on a dime.

Very happy with how we are performing considering.

lower tiers are way more fun and perform much better

if you really hate theives, you can try out a rifle warrior for these thieves. 10k volley channel and 12-14k kill shot will definitely get them dead if they try to shadow your group.

volley will still hit even if they go into stealth, same thing with killshot if you started channeling the skill when they are still targetable.

it’s viable if they don’t notice the warrior, with the spec and gear required to do 14k you will die in seconds to the thief. Though it is nice seeing a thief come out of stealth downed after a kill shot

I finally gave after 1200 hours on a warrior and got my thief to 80, it’s sure nice to never have to worry about dying, to be able to run from spawn to north camp without having to worry about being ganked, and pressing 2 2 2, for 7k heartseekers is pretty easy. Still I love my warrior, people who main thieves just don’t seem to understand how good they got it compared to other classes.

Any server that survived a mass exodus.

SBI is an ex T1 server, I’m sure they remember how to play at a high level even if they don’t have the numbers or dedicated guilds anymore.

I also main a warior, and i know we can have condition removal, but you should play a bit more with your warrior because missed something:
1.Shake it off removes 1 condition and for many people (including myself) its uor only stun breaker
2.you can use mending to remove conditions but you dont really need the heal (you are almost at max hp in example), so it makes you choose
3. you may need other utilities instead of more shouts, and also you have to sacrifice your runes for condition removal while other classes have plenty of acces to them.

I have 1209 hours hours played on my warrior and don’t have issues with thieves, just irks me when people say warriors have 0 condition removals. Mesmers are in a far worse spot when it comes to condition removal, they have to use null field, a mantra and trait for remove condition on heal and still have a very very hard time against a p/d thief

You used to have to do lvl10 fractals over and over till you got a ring, now there are multiple ways to get agony resist before level 10.

It’s just to make things more accessible for people in my opinion

Do you think we’re OP? Roll a thief and let’s see if we are really OP as you say. People in wvwvw die because of thieves because EVERY thief is built for dueling and 1v1 while 80% of the wvwvw people are built for group fights. In fact in sPvP we are the most “meh” class after warriors.

Thought I would comment on this, since I did roll a thief to see how the other half live, I main a warrior since launch and use it for commanding, my thief who is now lvl60 just rarely ever dies, I die more on my warrior in 1 hour than I have the entire time in wvw on my thief and I don’t even have to invest in defensive gear or traits. If 3 people catch me alone on my warrior im dead, I might as well just go afk and let them kill me. On my thief I can see a 100 people and no that there is nothing they can do.

I have 4 ways to stealth and crazy run speed, The reveal stealth traps don’t seem much worry to me, as I know I can just spam dodge roll or dagger storm on the trap and then press one of my 4 stealths to be gone again.

The only thing that’s so far not impressive is the damage the thief does, I’ll have to wait till 80 to have a fair opinion on that.

Do they need a nerf shrug just know that the ability to never die unless you do something very stupid makes this class very appealing compared to others.

Why do PvE’rs have to have map completion? Other than legendaries I can’t think of much, unless you like having the nice star icon next to your name that proves you’re well travelled – does this make you more effective in PvE? Not really.

WvW players should obviously not care to want Legendaries or map completion stars, seeing as having awesome aesthetics adds nothing statistically to our playstyle, we shouldn’t want them. I think tbh that I should be allowed to ‘want’ nice things, without having to jeopardise my ‘pure WvW’ playstyle, but still I have to dip myself into the unpleasant business of CoF farming to make ends meet. If we want to go do map completion for a legendary or a star icon, let us, because we have just as much entitlement as you do. We should really be complaining louder than you because we need to go for 80% to boring generic PvE zoned and slap this monster with this sword, or press F on this thing, to get those awful heart things done.

To get your legendary or your completion star, you have to work for it and dip your feet into every part of the game – complete it, some might say. That involves actually playing it, not waiting for a week so you can stroll into a tower instead. Go and fight and die for your server like the rest of us, work for your tower, capture it, fight, kill, win, make an effort; play World Versus World.

We have to press F on interactive objects all day like you PvErs, should we dare to want a nice weapon.

In pve mobs aggro is caused by toughness, in wvw aggro is caused by commander tags and legendarys. There is some merit to a bunker having aggro in wvw

In T1 I recall 5 of us going to flip a camp, and 40 PRX responding and the sad thing is they still had to might stack and portal bomb, Seriously 40 man guild group sitting on a full capped map to protect camps. Never could figure out how that was even fun for JQ

In T4 I go to flip a camp with 5 people and 5 enemies show up and we have a good fun fight

is there a reason it does less damage in spvp? I hit an 80 hunter last night with a opening shot of 12k killshot in wvw, with no vulnerability or dmg foods with 20/0/0/30/20 build with healing and tank trinkets and soldier runes (zerker armour)

we cant have a guardians survivability and double/triple their dps

Sadly we lost one guild to many to stay in t3, we’d like to be in tier 3 though

I get 6-9k killshots as a tanky shout warrior in wvw. I do like going full zerker rifle spec but the thieves can just smell when I respec it seems. Doesn’t take me long to get frustrated and go back to tanky

I still use shout heals with a fairly tanky build, but just have to accept a guardian can do it better, tanky warrior still does decent dps though

difference being you can exit the fight with the necro anytime you want, I have ran from briar to lowlands, with a thief heartseekering my bunker warrior over and over. Is no getting away from them, just have to accept I have a thief for a mini pet.

Not sure what people are complaining about. We were on SBIBL last night, took garrison, stayed a couple hours trolling and then most people left because they have other things to do. Do you seriously expect us to play this game 24/7? You do know we lack coverage, right?

But anyway, I took my guild to SBIBL last night, and for several of my guildies it was their first time in WvW, it was super hilarious to see them attacking all the beasts, collect all the material nodes and ask “when do we complete this dungeon”, lol. But they all had fun and were asking when we were going to be there again, so that’s good.

this made me lol always fun to take new guys into wvw, I was telling my PVE guid last week there was a dragon in sos borderlands to get them in there (it was actually kiwi and not dragon)

have to agree on the lag issue, I just had to heal through it like a boss, but good luck to any zerkers that arent in NA

I also am sick of them taking everything away, they have removed so much from this game already
