Fire field Might not working consistently?

I have been trying to spam LB fire field and LB#3 for might stack but sometimes it does not trigger.

FYI, adernaline is easy to fill using Axe#5.

Rampage (and Balance stance) triggers them even if not stunned. Stunning.

Engaging a zerg in WvW starting with Balance Stance then Rampage will net you 2000 additional toughness. Couple that with 25% damage reduction from Rampage then you get a T-A-N-K in your army for 8 seconds.

Thanks for the constructive feedback.

Cleansing ire is great no questin to that. However there are times that i disengage to reset but a long ticking condition like poison or bleed prevents me from reseting. I then use sigil that cleanses all conditions.

I replaced the trait slot for cleansing ire with with auto stability.

On combat mobility is still a problem and i do not have any CC. Pack rune is great but as you said they can be debuffed. Maybe change utilities for movement and CC.

The idea is to engage with LB to go into combat -> pop SoF for full adrenaline -> LB L3 burst -> LB#3 for Might (optional) -> A#5 in field for 15 (i think) fire bolts and adrenaline regain.

With my current crit rate, Axe trait would have been awesome for adrenaline regain but I do not know which one to go.

Traited Axe #5 brings in a lot of adrenaline that I can spam Burst as soon as cooldown. Of course having 50% base crit chance helps a lot.

If you use sigil of intelligence on a hammer pared with merciless hammer and use rampage. The damage is insane.

Two things I do not understand. Why does it do insane damage?

Rifle is a weapon rarely used. If it was changed to a shotgun where it can hit more than one target will it be used more?

Ranger have increased range and damage traits, maybe warrior can have increase in targets trait. Maybe increase in damage the closer the target is.

Balance: Burst cooldown after weapon swap?

This will end complaints that missed bursts can be circumvented by swapping weapons then bursting again.

If burst misses, the adrenaline is kept but burst is on cooldown.
If burst hits, adrenaline is drained and is on cooldown.

Adrenaline is a Warrior mechanic that traits and skills depend on.

Or you could look into other means of condition removal, primarily Shake It Off, Shrug It Off, and Runes of the Trooper, losing Cleansing Ire is not going to be the end of the world. Berserker’s Stance negates condition application, and if the condition is applied by way of a physical projectile or hit (pistol/rifle auto attack/condition skills) the Shield #5 will block it from ever being applied. With all of the fast attack rate weapons we posses we could also try sigils of purity, which remove conditions on hit. Realistically, there are plenty of options, you just have to look.

Those methods you mentioned will mean a massive loss of DPS.

That being said, the new Brawler’s Recovery looks like it will be a decent alternative. Also, hopefully these changes will make the class more skillful and eventually people will stop constantly hating on the class. I do think Stances should be looked at, I prefer the GW1 way of doing things but it would involve many changes to CD’s/Duration.

Brawler’s Recovery will be decent, but it won’t be better then CI. Thus, you will only use it if you don’t mind being at a disadvantage to other builds.

Also, the warrior hate will never die. Look at thieves. They were a plague in WvW. Now, if you so much as look at them, they die. Only the skillful thieves remain very challenging, due to their cheesy but effective mechanics. The thief-hate is as strong as it ever was though.

I thought it was the stealth-spam and the blind-spam that people hated…

This is gonna make playing warrior a lot more strategic and skill-based — I think the biggest hit here is the adrenaline rework.

I don’t think it’s all too bad warriors knew a hit was coming.

With this adrenaline change you’re gonna have to do a lot more positioning, making sure when you make an adrenaline burst skill that it WILL land — taking advantage of your adrenaline in every fight as best as you possibly can knowing that you got to dump it on the spot.

It makes thematic sense too — in the heat of the moment you gain adrenaline but when you pay attention somewhere else your adrenaline subsides

well if you just got out of a fight and you have an enemy in sight and you are rushin to him/her i think the adrenaline would still be there

OR you may engage with no adrenaline and mobility skills on cooldown

This is working as intended. There is no problem with the design.

Axe offhand is getting a pretty big buff though, but cleansing ire needed tweaking anyway, so more of a fix than a nerf.

Really? can you tell me what the buff is? xD, and yeah, even though I LOVE cleansing ire, it did need some work. I guess I was a bit spoiled.

Axe 5 is getting 17% damage increase ( I believe thats the number) and I think a CD reduction, not 100% sure of the CD change, but I do know the damage was increased quite significantly.

Even with the buff axe auto attack is still likely going to provide better dps.

But yes, they are lowering the cooldown to 15 seconds.

I believe the intention was to have Axe offhand to be used as Adrenaline builder. Axe 5 plus Major trait for Axe CD reduciton and Adren bonus. I still find blocking better.

Chasing down a target AFTER A DISENGAGE will now hurt warrior more. Warrior have to waste skills and utility to chase down a target. Now warrior is further placed in a disadvantage because adrenaline will drop while chasing is in progress losing HP regen and possibly Crit% and/or Damage bonus

Paper-thin classes have their own annoying mechanics for survival. If they get “sneezed in their general direction” then they should follow their class’ superior players’ advice… L2P.

Back on topic. As a warrior I do not mind having to target to trigger a skill AS LONG AS the skill will always go that direction and have no bugs (eg Bulls Rush, GS Rush, etc).

See target blink away: GS Rush to close in
Target dodges to a different direction: GS Whirlwind automatically to that direction.
I can see a lot of benefit in terms of melee combat and gap closure in exchange for escape.

Any WvW Rifle build?

Whenever I wield rifle, it feels quite off. Maybe the attack is too slow or lack of AoE. Rifle 5 is rarely used if not at all. Rifle burst deals good damage only if it hits. Usually it does not. Any serious rifle build?

I understand that losing stealth will affect SA and stealth attacks. But if they are applicable while in dodge stance exactly the same as with stealth then it would not make a difference.

It came to light that some traits are triggered by dodge. Instead of dodge without using endurance, how about “successful hits are reduced to glancing damage”? Is this more fair?

Stealth to engage I understand and is said so in the class description. But stealth to escape is not. If it is agility and acrobatic fighting style is their strength in fighting then I propose a change in stealth.

Stealth works while out of combat. Once in combat, effects resulting to stealth becomes “Able to dodge without consuming endurance” “Successful hits deal only glancing damage” for the said duration of time. Effect ends after an attack.

It remains loyal to the class description. Bad players are still punished. Good players still avoid damage and can still move around. It remains skill based. Bad opposing players still waste skills if it was dodged.

Think if it as to something similar to Warrior stance. Counterplay is to time the attack after the dodge or wait out the effect.

I understand that you are tempted by Ferocity and try to maintain your Fury uptime but I cannot figure out what you want your warrior to be. It is set for WvW. It is too general me TBH. Warriors are versitile into taking any role in WvW.

Remove mobility then warriors will be kited to death. Perhaps additional CC can be an offset. 1sec KD at hammer and GS #1 attack and cripple on all other weapons. Increased damage reduction and duration against range and condition.

Stay away then we both live. Close in then we fight to the death.

If people complain about thief, it is a L2P issue. If people complain about warrior it becomes “golden child” ANet loved OP warrior.

Let us at least be consistent. No class is OP. Only players who do not know how to play.

It did not take long before the “friendly environment” changes to hostility.

Let me get the ball rolling.
Stealth: thief becomes disappears and cannot be targeted.
Counters:
If thief is low hp or have many conditions it will stay away long enough to regen/reset. Run away and regen/reset. Clear conditions also.
If thief is bad and does not stealth/blind spam, consider wasting time by fighting said thief. Caution: another thief may be permastealth nearby waiting for you to tale the bait.
If thief goes in and out of stealth almost all the time or if you are almost permanently blind, it does not matter. You will be dead soon enough. 1v1 or 1vX. Roll a thief and L2P.

Correction anti-stealth. And I am not for removing or providing a “one button” counter for stealth. Just toning it down a bit.

Just so happens thief abuses Stealth to the point that it becomes obvious that without stealth, they do not know how to play.

Warriors have been in worse situations but we try different builds. Even the most laughable ones sometimes results in something good.

Perhaps it is time that the Thief players L2P without depending on Stealth too much.

How about soft counters like observing the environment? A shadow, a glimpse, or even just footsteps. It may be easy to miss but it does not break the class.

Hey there, I always liked the concept of a warrior, but I´ve read that the warrior in this game is pretty simple. Is that true? Or is there alot of complexity waiting? I really like meelee but i want to be challenged too, i would appreciate every answer.
And if you don´t recommend this class what class do you enjoy most?

Warrior is a simple class. Like all games, there is a class easy to handle and let beginners get to feel the game in PvE.

Mastering warrior is easier compared to all other classes.

With that being said. Warrior have a very low skill cap. A noob warrior can easily defeat all other noob classes. A crazy good warrior cannot defeat all other crazy good classes. While the average warrior have an even odds with average other classes.

Oh great enlightened one, how does one counter stealth? You said so many words but did not mention any point or content.

Aoe/preventing them from stealthing in the first place (on thief all but blinding powder can be prevented)/punishing them when they use their stealth attacks.

No hard counter/reveal when they are already stealthed is needed. That would just dumb down the game.

AoE skills have long CD. Even if it has no CD it still is not big enough cover to hit someone in stealth.

Hard counter/reveal breaks the skill intself (thief, mesmer, other class on blanket stealth). Perhaps a soft counter?

1. Shadow on the ground
2. Foot steps on the ground

Depends on your class as far as how long the cd is. Eng has no problem with being able to put out AOE regularly. Aoe will at the very least limit their ability to stay on a capture point (in some cases it covers the entire point + more). Anything more isn’t necessary.

Being able to tell exactly where your opponent is would also kill stealth.

At least some skill is involved. Same goes with toon animation to dodge or avoiding AoE rings on the floor, or differentiating clones from Mesmer if the toon casts or dodges. What skill other than stealth will give you a 5 players swinging mindlessly on hopes to hit a player in stealth?

Conditions are to strong on melee classes.

He is actually saying conditions are too strong even when used with a POWER build. I agree , Axe/sword LB warr is actually pretty face roll because even if you dodge 100% of eviscerates you will still die to conditions.

He’s taking an average of 150 damage per tick from Bleed. That’s not a number you can reach with a power build.

But yeah, sitting around taking condition damage for 2 minutes should get you killed. Try taking 2 minutes of direct damage and tell me how many times you died.

I agree with that. Do not sit taking condition damage. What he is trying to say is try attacking.
