WOW isn’t the first game to have raids, mounts, trinity. #justsaying
#justsaying to who? No one here is saying otherwise.
Ermm? Your topic and much of the thread contents are all heavily implying that wow is the originator of all. Otherwise, why would you use wow as reference?
Even if that wasn’t your intention but the fact that you started it out that way already made your intentions moot.
If you actually read, you’d see that neither me nor anyone else in this thread has made such a claim.
Perhaps I can clarify a bit more. On some of these previous issues, such as mounts, the people that were against mounts were backed by Anet’s stance against mounts. There was always the assumption that such things would never be in game due to Anet expressing a lack of interest of talks of technical limitations, which bolstered the arguments of players against having these things in game.
Since these changes have been making their way into the game despite previous assertions, it suggests that other ideas that previously seemed far fetched or absurd could also make it in game, thus making it easier to ignore those that claim that such changes are impossible or will never happen.
All you’re saying is that some people have irrational reasons for being for or against certain features. That was true last week; it’s true this week; and it will be true next week. All that mounts being added to the game means is that… GW2 has mounts; it is not an argument in favor of any other feature.
Sorry, didn’t realize you were just being negative and not actually interested in discussion at all. Nvm then, carry on.
So I guess we can go back to asking for anything now, and just ignore the naysayers. What’s next? Capes? Built in open world voice channels?
How is this different from last week? Those who wanted mounts asked for them before. There are people asking for new races most weeks, people asking for … well, you name it.
Ask for whatever you’d like to be in the game. ANet doesn’t decide based on whether something is in WoW or not; they add features based on whether it makes the game fun (enough so that they can sell more copies + more gems).
The difference being back then people against mounts for instance would immediately post the dead horse gif and talk about how it will never happen, and at the time it seemed Anet agreed with that sentiment. Now that all these changes have happened though, hoping for these other cool changes to come into the game isn’t so crazy, it’s an actual possibility.
BTW everyone is bring up WoW quite a bit. That wasn’t really the main point at all, feel like some people didn’t really read everything. Was just stating that it was a common counter argument used on here, never said that I in any way agreed with it or that I thought it had any impact on what Anet decides to do. It was pretty much the equivalent of dismissing people in PvP with a “git gud” or “l2p” remark.
Yeah, no. Some people like to post a meme or trope rather than actually thinking about the answer. People want race change, which isn’t going to happen for entirely different reasons, but it’s not a “dead horse” — people want it.
So again, I ask: what exactly is different this week from last? This company has always added stuff that other games consider basic. And people are still going to ask for stuff that they want, regardless of economic or business concerns.
I suppose some people will copy & paste the “yeah but you said mounts would never happen, so why not…” as a new meme, but… that’s not really meaningfully different from people posting gifs of someone beating a dead horse instead of offering to discuss.
tl;dr this wasn’t WoW last week; it’s not WoW this week. It’s always going to be GW2, with its own personality.

A lot of rant posts going on here. Feels like some people just read the title, skimmed the artical, and just assumed I was saying having mounts makes this game a WoW clone. Either that or people are eager to vent about past arguments on older posts.
Maybe your title should have been different than: This isn’t WoW!
and
I used to see this response alot when requests came up for things like raids, tanks, healers, mounts etc. All of those things are in the game now despite the strong protest of these apparent WoW haters.
So I guess we can go back to asking for anything now, and just ignore the naysayers. What’s next? Capes? Built in open world voice channels?
If you don’t mean that the changes made it a WoW clone because it was most unclear if you didn’t.
Nowhere in there does it suggest that I think the changes make this game a WoW clone. The title is also explained in the very first sentence. Didn’t mean to trigger anyone, apparently alot of repressed anger in here. People misread and went straight into defensive mode. Yikes!
After some time in ESO, I think voice coms would be a great addition to the game. It allows for better coordination, and gives the sense of camaraderie between team members. I’ve had a ton of fun in ESO going through public dungeons and running into someone else on voice coms and teaming up to take on difficult fights.
Can’t see a downside to it really. Toxicity or language barriers isn’t a good excuse since those issues already exist with text chat. However, I will say that even in ESO on PS4 with built in voice coms made as simple as possible, hardly anyone actually uses the voice coms, and perhaps Anet doesn’t want to invest resources into something that may not see widespread use.
As for those saying voice coms will never happen, well, everyone said the same thing about mounts…
We’ve seen with the pvp badges, ( and other items,) that newish players often miss mechanics like a “flag” completely. ANET finally put in dodge tutorials when it became clear that newer players often didn’t realize they could/should dodge.
Such a system would be a setup for very unpleasant confrontations and having players leave the game.
If the flag is disabled by default, then what would be the problem? New players wouldn’t even know how to enable the flag, this there would be no risk of unpleasant confrontations.
I’ve placed bronze every since the new Ranked League.
Wow, this actually explains the tone in all of your posts.
Trying to finish the season without playing another game?
I played an Unranked match just for fun recently and could of swore my whole team was just a group of bots. We were on coliseum, I started running towards mid, all 4 of my teammates run towards mid as well…….sort of.
They ran straight into the wall, appeared to be completely lost, then went to home instead. All 4 of them, in sync together. Enemy team had no problem constantly destroying them. Felt like I was playing solo.
After announcing my suspicions in map chat, one of my teammates replied that he was new. At the end of the match I could see that none of them were grouped, so I dunno. It was the strangest thing I’ve seen. Either that one guy was playing with the other 3 as bots, or my team consisted of 4 players that were completely new to pvp and wanted to always stay together at home and never say a word. Either scenario is possible really.

Alot of people claiming the rating system means nothing, but I’d put my money on a legendary or plat player before a bronze or silver player any day. No idea why people keep bringing up what rating someone started at. It doesn’t matter. All that matters is where you settle, and if you constantly settle in bronze/silver all the time, no I am not going to take your advice about how effective your build is and the effects of the meta.
As for that tournament participation Ithilwen, you’ve posted multiple times how much you hate it because you get knocked out of the tournaments in the very first match. Sorry, but you’ll have to excuse my skepticism on the effectiveness of your build.

Edit: Before you start your rant, allow me to clarify that I in no way think any of these changes make GW2 a WoW clone. I was simply stating that it was the response I always saw from people that were against these changes. I was simply interested in what other changes, that were previously deemed impossible/unlikely, people would like to see put in the game now.
I’m personally rooting for in-game voice coms.

Wiki says it is a 30 second cooldown, 25.5 if you take Tools. (Flash Spark)
And hey, on the “bright” side, it gives you a 4 second Light Aura too when above 50 heat!
What you should be worried about is Cauterize! It’s one of two condition clears the Holosmith offers, and it sets us on fire!
(edited by Shaogin.2679)
Yeah I just don’t see Scourge working well in sPvP. They will still have the usual issues of lacking scaling defenses and mobility. Now the mobility will be slightly better with the new port, but the Scourge is losing the shroud health and having to rely on small, short-lived barriers.
It’s looking like the Scourge will be easier to focus down than Necro and Reaper. If Scourge has higher condi damage than Necro and provides decent support, then I’m sure it will be useful in PvE and WvW, but this just doesn’t seem like an elite spec that will do well in sPvP.
Yup. One less customer and one less PvP player in an already shallow pool.
Pretty sure Anet could lose every PvP player and not care due to the much much larger PvE playerbase. PvP is just a side mode. This is a PvE game.
TDM and defending have both been tried, with poor results.
There are non-meta things that work. I play a vanilla PU Mesmer with some success. I think it’s partly because people have trained themselves to respond to specific builds and “rotations”.
My PU build doesn’t do what a Mesmer is “supposed to” do. No one streams it. Hence… many players don’t know how to respond.
That’s one of the dangers of having such a defined “meta.”
To be fair, don’t you play in Bronze or Silver? I suspect the success of your build has more to do with the quality of your opponents rather than the element of surprise.
If you don’t enjoy the game, that is probably a smart decision.
PvP dominated by power builds and yet conditions are the the problem. Always funny. I’d provide a counter argument but they already exist in the thousands of other condi QQ threads that have been likewise dismissed by Anet.
I wouldn’t count on condi changes. New game modes? Not likely, but more realistic chance of happening. It’s at least possible.
Or just go to the official page?
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/path-of-fire/
What rank are you? And how do you know you are playing against platinum players? Do you also know what rank your teammates are?
By not crowning the 2nd place team as the victors, Anet can disregard this fiasco of a tournament so that the first tournament champions will come from the second tournament instead. Just sweep the mess under the rug and move on.
If you ran a condi build with Parasitic Contagion, you’d have no issues at all staying alive. I managed to solo all the story content just fine with a Meditrapper DH. If you’re having issues, you probably need to address your build/play style.
Well Shaogin you are very biased on this situation so let me clarify for you
Anet- " We have caught wind of players cheating and have temporarily banned them for the season"
Group A – “These players deserve more than a dishonor they deserve IP ban (Assuming we are talking about the same group of people)”
Group B – “You guys have no proof you are just crybabies who got beat by better players"
Group A – “How dare you ask for my proof you troll!”Meanwhile those who are crying foul play were DIRECTLY affected by the outcome of the matches. Those defending the accused have nothing to do with them or were affected by it whatsoever.
Why aren’t those who are accused coming up and speaking about it and relying on the defense of no name players?
Names weren’t brought up until group B provoked A.
I’m guessing these players have had beef with each other in the past based on their arguments.
I’ve actually been very neutral in this whole ordeal, just can’t understand why people so kittened at someone asking for proof that people are saying they have.
To be clear, Anet’s response didn’t mention anything about the tournament nor did it mention any player’s names. Sure for those piecing puzzles together it may appear obvious, but it provides no proof to the skeptical bystander. In addition, the punishment was light due to a pending investigation, meaning at this time Anet doesn’t have the proof to definitely say the accused are indeed guilty.
As you pointed out in your Group A comment, players are demanding harsher punishments on who they believe to be the perpetrators despite Anet not having finished their investigation. They are also pointing out the players they believe are guilty despite Anet not naming anyone at all, hence the shaming and witch hunt prior to the conclusion of Anet’s investigation.
Also, it was pointed out early in the thread that Anet’s post was about the Abjured and the winning team multiple times before anyone posted a skeptical comment. Go back and read the first page.
We’ve identified additional accounts of players who were involved in account sharing and match manipulation.
We’ve given them dishonor for the remaining season for now. Our investigation is still underway, so additional action may be taken later, should we determine it appropriate.
Quoting for relevance, since everyone wants to ignore the PROOF that Anet has gotten enough evidence to give these players dishonor until the next season.
Now I have no issues with Jeff and he is probably correct about all of this, but for the life of me I can’t understand why someone who wants to see the proof (that has been declared to exist) before joining a blind witch hunt is declared a troll.
lulz you can’t have it both way. You can’t say Jeff is probably correct but then call this a “blind witch hunt”. Which is it?
Again, Anet’s post mentions nothing of the tournament nor does it name any players. Also, as I mentioned earlier, the light punishment suggests Anet does not have all the proof they need at this time, thus the investigation.
Also, I clearly have no intentions of wanting to “have it both ways”. It is my personal opinion that Jeff’s allegations are highly probable. However, due to a lack of factual evidence, I can understand how someone could be skeptical over the situation. It is a blind witch hunt because these players are being named and shamed on public forums based solely on accusations alone. If there is any real proof like the claims suggest, it isn’t being provided, and players are joining in on the public shaming simply due to the allegations.
The only conclusion I can draw is there must be some prior beef between the affected players and the skeptical players, because otherwise there would be no need for these silly insults back and forth.
but information that has nothing to do with you..
Maybe I can simplify this whole thing for you:
Group A – “We know for sure these players cheated and deserve to be punished and we have proof!”
Group B – “What proof?”
Group A – “How dare you ask for my proof you troll!”
While Group A’s allegations may be true, the manner they are going about everything is all wrong. Group B would never have asked about this proof if a) The players in question weren’t being shamed on public forums and b) Group A didn’t bring up the proof in the first place and then never present said proof while continuing to shame the players in question.
(edited by Shaogin.2679)
So Anet has the proof, and are conducting investigations. But honestly if Anet, the game creators and ultimate deciders have the proof why do you need it
He’s only asking for proof because this thread is declaring the parties involved as guilty despite the lack of definitive evidence provided, and everyone is just jumping in demanding punishment based on these claims alone. Until further proof is provided and/or Anet finishes their investigation, then all this just amounts to nothing more than shaming other players. And when the people doing the shaming claim to be doing so based on unprovided proof, it is only logical to request such proof.
Anet doesn’t like “witch hunts” which is why those with “proof” haven’t posted anything really concrete.
Yet they have no issues claiming these players are guilty as if it were a fact, and getting others to join in on these claims. Sure sounds like a witch hunt to me. If those organizing the witch hunt claim to be doing so based on undisclosed proof, then how is it wrong to request such proof?
it was scummy and they knocked all out of decent teams that deserved higher rewards by knocking them out earlier than they shouldve in the tournament by a combination of doing the minimum qp in order to knock out higher seated teams and also by the unexpected factor of unrecognizable pvers playing on a top tier level and getting the jump on people.
Obviously the fact that they won should be enough evidence for everyone to agree that it was Abj.
But the “solid” evidence youll need to actually take action is up to you after repeated offenders continue to make a mock out of you.
Read this carefully and understand. This isn’t someone asking Anet to simply look into the matter. This is someone declaring that the players involved are all guilty and should be punished.
Now I have no issues with Jeff and he is probably correct about all of this, but for the life of me I can’t understand why someone who wants to see the proof (that has been declared to exist) before joining a blind witch hunt is declared a troll.
Not to mention we have known for quite some time now that this was going to be the last episode of the season and it would be followed up shortly after by the next expansion.
How can anyone cry about this? This is Jebro’s tournament so he can ban whoever he wants if he thinks they are bad for the game.
If you dont like it then dont watch. This is nothing to do with any of you. Make your own tournament if you think you can do better
Pretty much this.^
Kudos to the staff at UGO for attempting to maintain a respectable and competitive environment. I feel this was an appropriate response based on the information provided. They have a reasonable level of suspicion that the alleged events occurred, and issued a temporary ban pending further investigation of the incident. Seems completely reasonable to me.
Trying to convince Sly that Abjured played on those accounts is like trying to convince a flat earther that the world is round.
Except that we have proof the Earth is round.
Look, I get it that the majority here consider it obvious that the Abjured was hired to play for this random PvE team. However, don’t see why everyone is lashing out at Sly. Some people prefer facts over speculation, and after reading through all of this, no factual evidence has been provided.
Sure, there are causes for suspicion, and the situation should be investigated, but at the same time Sly isn’t lying when he stated that there isn’t any proof atm.
So basically, is it likely these guys paid the Abjured to play for them? Sure, but also keep in mind that it is not yet proven and these guys could be completely innocent. Maybe it is a good idea to keep the slander to a minimum and keep an open mind until Anet has finished investigating?
- Support class not even used as support (and I believe we’re 2nd last in DPS as well)
Actually guardian is 2nd highest in damage to large hitboxes and 7th in damage to small hitboxes with some of the easiest rotations available on damage builds:
Don’t know what you see, but I see Guardian as 8th DPS on that list and is 4th for large hitboxes (Ele, Engineer, and Thief are all higher).
How are you seeing that. For large hitboxes, all the builds above it are Ele builds, making it the second highest damaging class for large hitboxes.
Now for small hitboxes, yeah it is in 8th. But on the bright side, Guardian is 4th in direct damage dps. Crazy that we are now at the point where all the top damage builds for each class is a condition damage build, except for Guardian.
I missed the whole Monthly AT. So if I understand everything here, some random team of PvE players played the minimum daily AT’s to get into the Monthly, then paid the Abjured $2000 to play the Monthly tournament for them?
That is pretty crazy. Gotta say though, this is just a result of Anet never taking action against misconduct in-game.
Always run into Dragonhunters trying to pull me into the walls on the side nodes. It’s incredibly annoying since I have to either leave the cap to avoid getting pulled in the wall or blow resources for stability.
See, this is why it’s not getting fixed, it’s counterplay for line of sight…!
Counterplay for los!? Lol. It is using los. I’m on point, DH lands a spear, leaves point to go on other side of wall to prepare to pull me into the wall. Can’t attack him due to los. Can’t finish capping the point without stability or I’ll be pulled into the wall. My only option is to pop stability or chase the DH off point and give up the cap. :-P
I can’t win matches, this is clearly Anet’s fault!
FEAR NOT! SPECIAL SALE!
[Tin Foil Hat] HALF OFF! ONLY 25 GOLD!!!!
That’s right, you could be on the naughty list. There is only one way to get around it. For 50 gold I am selling legit [Tin Foil Hat]. Don’t let pesky Anet make it look like you have no skill. Buy a hat from me today and shine like the pro player you are!
Always run into Dragonhunters trying to pull me into the walls on the side nodes. It’s incredibly annoying since I have to either leave the cap to avoid getting pulled in the wall or blow resources for stability.
Necro you take all of the conditions in 1 hit. <——Not slow damage
When people say stuff like this, I can’t help but think they have no idea what they are talking about. Sadly, this is how the whole “I hate condi” crowd is. Pretty much just arguing with a brick wall.
Too bad I have necro too. You’re attempt at dismissal…only dismissed yourself with that pointless statement.
Nice logic. I can only assume you are referring to plague signet, since that is the only way someone could perceive being “condi-bombed” by a Necro in one hit.
However, I assume for the sake of your argument you don’t want to include that for this one-hit wonder combo to work, the necro needs the enemy to unwittingly stack him full of conditions despite being able to clearly see he has plague signet ready.
It requires set-up, it’s not some magic free kill button. But hey, what do I know, you could be speaking of some other mysterious one-button condi combo. But probably not. The whole “Condi OP” crowd usually doesn’t deal with facts or logic and instead likes to over-dramatize things. Sweet comeback though, really got me good. Feeling so dismissed over here.
GS is actually a decent hybrid weapon. I play Viper Reaper with GS & Scepter/Dagger. GS is mainly just used there for nightfall and the #5 pull/chill and the occasional gravedigger if a good condi combo field is present.
As for power builds in PvE, GS & Dagger/X for highest damage, but I take Axe/x instead of dagger so I have a ranged option when it is needed. For WvW I would recommend Staff & Axe/x.
Also, for survival on a power build in PvE you could run a might stacking build with Blighter’s Boon at the cost of damage. Though if you are pugging most content then it probably won’t be a damage loss at all since pugs aren’t the best at maintaining high might stacks for the group anyways
(edited by Shaogin.2679)
Well In fact the necromancer is focused because this is the profession that is the easiest to restrain not because it’s the profession that die the fastest. It’s more a problem of proper mobility than a matter of invulnerability. And that’s why KrHome simply suggest some QoL on one of our few “escape” skill, which would help a lot more the necromancer survivability on the long run than a change on SA, which is, again, already a great skill.
Not true necro is target first because of lack of defence 0 life force at the start of the game making necro practically defenceless and on top of that lack of mobility
Take 2 hit while under SA and you can enter shroud and even stay in it for the whole duration of SA.
Use warhorn swarm and the ennemies that focus you are a free source of life force.
Trait for spectral skill and you’ll see that building life force is just a matter of using spectral skills.
Building 10% life force is easy as day.The problem is not life force or defence, the problem is instant mobility.
Not that I am agreeing with this crazy spectral armor idea, but let’s be honest here, mobility is not our only problem. We don’t get focused simply because we can’t escape or even because we do “amazing” damage. We get focused because we have 0 scaling defenses combined with no viable escape options. So when we get focused, our only option is to stand and fight and hope we take someone down with us and maybe our team will help.
Let’s not kid ourselves into thinking that even if we had an instant cast 1200 range teleport that it would fix everything. Every other class with a teleport would just teleport to us and finish the job there, or just ignore us if we’re off point and then focus us again when we get back on the point and now have our teleport on cooldown. See how it doesn’t really help much?
Also, for the life force issue, it is insanely easy to focus a necro at the start of the match and lock him down before he can build any significant amount of life force.
Necro you take all of the conditions in 1 hit. <——Not slow damage
When people say stuff like this, I can’t help but think they have no idea what they are talking about. Sadly, this is how the whole “I hate condi” crowd is. Pretty much just arguing with a brick wall.
You know how many toxic players would be on your team if it was a 5-man queue? Well if you’re any good at picking teammates, it would be 0. But yeah, queue times, death of game, on and on yeah I get it.
So you gotta pick, either you play with scrubs and trolls but have quicker matches, or you get a team together and play with pleasant people but go through whatever the doomsayers say you’ll go through. Can’t have the best of both worlds.
As much as I love being nearly invincible already, that would make shroud necros fairly op. Wouldn’t need to take your soul is mine, wouldn’t really need rise, or any other life force generator. Would ruin the point of any other life force generator.
Necros being the only class to not have a single block or evade outside of the 2 that every class have already balances that out. Besides, if you’ve ever been in teamfights you’d notice that lf is already easy to gen using staff and spectral armor which is why the meta build isn’t using the skills you’re talking about
I’m not talking about pvp, though. The only time I play pvp is when I have guild missions requiring it. In PvE, the staff is absolute trash for life force genning.
Staff is just as effective for generating life force in PvE as it is in PvP. However, the world of PvE is all about maximizing damage output, thus staff is never a good weapon choice. Even without staff though, no Necro should have any issues generating life force in PvE.
As for the suggested change in PvP, it would be insanely OP unless the skill was nerfed in some other way to compensate for the buff.
It seems like you do not understand what the ranking system is.
First of all, your skill rating has nothing to do with your W/L ratio.
Second of all, the ranking system doesn’t stop after the result of one match. You’re right, you can get bad teammates, you can lose a match that you ‘deserved’ to win. In the end, it’s kind of like a coin toss. But, the system is not designed to give you an accurate rating after one match.
The theory is that you are matched with and against the average player around your skill rating. If you are better than the average player of your skill rating, you have a higher probability to win, and will win more than you lose, resulting in your skill rating going up.
Bad luck can happen and make you lose some games, but the more matches you play, the less luck becomes a relevant factor.
If you toss a coin 5 times, you will have a random result that doesn’t necessarily show the 50% probability. But if you toss a coin 50 times, the result will be very close to 50%.Now, the system is not perfect, and get pretty wonky when the player population is low. But for the most part, it should be pretty accurate, especially at ratings where there is no population issue.
I can’t tell if what you said is a rule or an exception. I was placed in T2 platinum, got to 250 once but didn’t get the recognition (title and leaderboard place) due to match cap at the time (45 was it I guess). But once I hit the cap (60 matches) I needed like 2 matches to get to 250 and since that day that happened 4-5 days ago, I keep on falling and falling down on matches where some of my team mates prefer to do a decap instead of a fullcap while the whole enemy team is busy fighting mid or far/ double caps/ going 1v2 to a capped point… you name it.
I’ve been playing to my furthest skills, doing fakes, rotating to every fight I could to ensure a win, but as soon as I left or some other competent dude in my team, the whole rest just fell apart. I am okay with losing, but being bound to lose with a huge point gap many times in a row or overall is just getting bamboozled by the system.
Now I think I have more than 70 or about 80 matches played, but the curve of my rating is changing rapidly from T2 plat to T1 plat or even T3 gold which is not what should be happening to a player who knows his drill.P.S.
At first I thought it was stupid, but more and more I keep on believing in some sort of “account luck”.This is what I mean about the rating system. That I understand it’s designed to make more balanced matches but my beef is having no representation of my individual skill.
Am I the best player ever? No. But I understand what I need to do and play my role well yet feel that that is not represented currently.I just feel that there should be a system in place that yes shows this player is currently playing at this level but also something that shows this player as an individual is at this level. It just adds a layer to pvp that I feel allows people to better understand where they stand with other players and as an individual and also allows other players to have some better criteria to look at when looking for teammates for tournaments
Can you think of any way to judge an individual’s performance amongst a team of random players that can’t be exploited? That has been the issue preventing any sort of rating based on individual performance.
It is extremely rare.
As someone who is currently doing map completion in between pvp matches, that map selection screen is horrible. The simplest solution is to reduce the map selection screen size and move it to the side once you’ve made your choice. This way, you can still finish up what you were doing, while still being able to observe the map wheel of fortune that Anet apparently really wants us to observe.
Also, don’t see the need for the match accept window to inhibit the keyboard. Makes a huge mess when I’m typing a message and that screen pops up. Just seems completely unnecessary.
I’ll just leave this here:
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/PvP_Matchmaking_AlgorithmThen why are platinum players getting qued with gold players? Please explain this if MMR is the reason the REAL reason how are people platinum 2 and up getting gold tier players? I myself even got a SILVER player on my team once when I was in the top 250. The MMR system is a joke still and needs to be worked on still. As to Anet having a naughty list I don’t doubt it. And what’re you going to do about the players being paid to throw games?? It’s half way through the season and players have yet to be banned. GJ anet…

Pretty much this. The longer you are in the queue the more the search widens.
Now if the system is taking a pool of 10 players within range of eachother, and splitting them into two balanced teams, it would still work out theoretically.
However, if the system is forming a team of 5 players, then looking for another team of 5 players to match them against, this is where we would see these examples of teams being “stacked”.
I was under the assumption that the matchmaker was forming balanced teams from a pool of 10 players, but if this isn’t the case, then that is most likely a major contributer to the issues players are having with stacked teams, especially during times when population is low.
I myself had a match where I was teamed up with 3 top players. The opposing team was just a group of average players. We won 500-18. Match wasn’t entertaining at all. I could of afk’d the whole match and it wouldn’t of mattered.
I believe another large contributer to the issue is the duo queue. Now I am a huge advocate of being able to team up with friends, but there are many cases where a match would be more balanced if certain players were placed on opposite teams, but if they are grouped then they are essentially preventing the matchmaker from creating a more balanced match.
Also, now that we have an avenue for 5v5 team pvp through the automated tournaments, it wouldn’t be such a big deal anymore for ranked pvp to move to a completely solo queue model. I also believe that adjusting rating based off your team’s average mmr vs the other team’s average mmr would be a much better approach.
At the start of the match, add all players to your friends list and nickname them so you remember what team they were on. Screenshot friends leaderboard. After the match, screen shot the leaderboard again.
This will tell you everyone’s ranking at the time the match started, and tell you how much they gained/lost after the match.
Sadly, this can only be done about once per day since the leaderboard seems to take forever to update with new friends once you’ve already checked it. Would be much simpler if Anet would just show everyone’s pre-match rating and gain/loss on the scoreboard at the end of the match.

May not be exactly what you’re looking for, but the build does make use of symbolic healing.
I just imagine some dev reading the forums and he’s like “Oh this guy is such an kitten screw him! Let’s give him a bunch of impossible matches and teach him a lesson!”
men is sad u know im the only top 250 that doesnt duo que… the only reason i lose is because of those duo que premade…
There isn’t a bit of truth in your statement, or grammar. This is why no one, including Anet, is going to take you seriously.
