I can say that i wouldn’t have played gw2 if there were kitten like “different stats for legendary equipment” like others mmo.

I am not really into legendary items ( made 4 and sold 3 ).
I just, as a main thief, decided to make HOPE for myself… and kitten it, it was totally worth it

Maybe they could be short on time, but i didn’t ever see a released expansion pack which was somehow balanced.

The worst case scenario would be unbalanced elites.

As a thief, the main role is to decap or +1 during a fight ( and we can’t manage to go inside the fight nor too close ).

With those attribute modifies i barely see any improvement in the quality of life.
Nor Vitality ( instead, enemies could have even more dodges, which will require even more time to get em down ) nor toughness ( which we don’t have, cause is meaningless with a 11k hp pool, no damage mitigation and, essentially, cause a phisical build need a marauder neck ).

Ps: ofc with a marauder neck there will be more dodges for us, but for enemies too. And the trade, to me, is not fair for a glass cannon. Though defensive stats ( or character base health ) could be modified somehow.

I am way more skeptic.

Actually the impact to thieves would be slightly greater than for other classes, because the increased endurance regen would synergize with other dodge boons thieves get and basically give you unlimited dodging, which other classes wouldn’t have.

In fact, I would argue this would go a long way toward fixing the spike vs survivability issue that Thieves have always struggled with and substantially add to their ability to survive with poor defense in PvE.

But in pve they go zerk, both raid and fractals, so no bonus health but base vitality.
Also they must dodge on boss to deal dmg and use one dodge every 4 sec to have improved damage. I see no benefits in pve.

And i am worried about pvp ( cause the more the enemy, which is mostly a "way more tanky class than thief ) can use the extra dodge to manage to recover their cd, which they couldn’t previously recover due the missing seconds provided by the new extra dodge.

Which also would require dust in inventory than stashed in Bank? That seems a Loss of time to me.

Though talking about slots you are still going to have 3 slot Less overall.

I mean, would be really a problem or you if an option would be given? At worst you could decide to have 1 item per chara, which has also his bags full of ascende materiale stacks.

Edit: what i am trying to Say is that won’t be an obligatIon but a choice for the player himself.

I don’t see what’s your problem at all.
Sounds from gliders, minis, gathering tools and so on were a problem, so ANET put an option to allow players to manage em ( or maybe to mute em ).

The same could, and should, happens with gliders as op stated, both cause they can lowering fps and cause motion sickness.
And ANET is currently working on mount ( also through settings ) in order to solve problems motion sickness related, so i don’t see why not about gliders/auras.

Also players who don’t like things which are “ruining” the fantasy ambientation could disable em, downgrading to a standard one.

You have a really good pc and don’t suffer from fps or also you don’t suffer from things like motion sickness?
Be my guest and stay in line for a hug.

This game was clearly not made for pvp. Mechanics like dodging and having such a huge variety of skills makes the game completely unbalanced. PvP is a clusterkitten of aoe effects,condition damage and crowd control. PvP needs a huge rework to be taken serious. First of all rebalancing of utility skills. It is a good thing to have variety but with classes having tons of CC and invincibility skills it gets a bit ridiculous and unbalanced

Btw, due to the fact that skills are hard to balance and all the RPG elements, i would prefer something like “standard templates” where ANET could work on.

I mean, when you go spvp you will have 1 single choice: Which class to play.

For an instance, warrior will be only GS + A/S, That specific HEAL, Those specific UTILITY SKILLS, and That specific ELITE skill. Also trait and equipment will be standard for every class.

You won’t have customization, right, but instead you are going to have way more balance.

I perfectly understand what xikira means, but we have to face some facts, especially due to the fact that the population incrased since the core game was given for free.

First, due to the fact that the game is mostly base on aesthetic, it should be nice if everybody could achieve the skins that he wants.

-A new f2p player could after 1 month buy HoT and maybe after some more time PoF, unlocking every single map.
-He could also nerds like there won’t be tomorrow, farming achievement points in order to unlock zenith weapons or hellfire armor.

But he could not aging his own characters by choice, in order to get what the others have.

That’s why, to me, they should work separately on birthday gifts and account gift:

Birthday Gifts: specify for characters, which maybe gives things like currencies and karma, which are avaible just playing the game.

Account Gifts: given every year to every account regardless the age of characters.

Done that, all accounts would be the same and everybody would have an account bound gift whenever ANET would decide so.

ps: Brand new accounts would have unlocked all gifts ( maybe just when all currently expansions are owned ).

Hi everybody.
Since i didn’t find a sticky thread about i decided to make one.

I am going to try to explain what i did understand about:

1) Being AFK is legit ( though in some part of the game, like spvp matches, is forbidden and eventually punished ).
2) Being AFK with pets, turrets, runes which spawn pets, regen+retaliation and get loots ( or simply exp ) from mobs is not legit.

The question is, since i have seen people afk with pets/turrets for an instance in Siren’s Landing, near shrines, in order to

a) Buy 8 more chests from shrine vendors, which should be legit.
b) Tag themself through pets for the 2 events nearby ( and maybe got ressed if dead ), which should not be legit.

what does ANET say about this?
and more important, what do GW2 staff do in order to check if a person is or isn’t afk?

I know i could simply stay afk while watching a movie for an instance ( 2 activities in a row ), but are there any checks in order to control players?

ps: if there’s a thread with a clear response from ANET feel free to link

Though he has the possibility to use up to 5 pets at once if i am right. But it is not a must as ranger.

Edit: to me the Most fun professionale is the thief, due to mobility/teleports, stealth and initiative. But does not Fit your standards cause is Glass.

It’s not meant to complain about bank spaces, but to underline the fact that would be easier to have all 4 items in one, like the Gleam of Sentience, for 2 reasons:

1) 3 more inventory slots
2) Bank check in adjunct to the inventory one.

edit: This also for people who prefer to use their ascended materials to craft ascended improved materials. Advantages for everybody ( unless you trashed all 4 items, you’ll have somewhere 3 extra slots ).

we do now have another item which “eat” ascended materials, but unlike Mawdrey II, Star of Gratitude, Princess and Herta, this one do also his check within your bank stash ( i imagine due the menù which the other four does not have ).

Here’s the solution/request:

Why don’t you set up a Mystic forge recipe which requires all the old four items, which allow you to create an item something like Gleam of Sentence?

Then players will have an upgraded item and 3 more free inventory spaces.

I didn’t know about the Sentient Singularity. I flagged the achievement. I’m going to finish that one as soon as possible.

And also this item is way better because does not only consider items in your inventory, but deposited too ( not sure if into bank or just the ones into material stashes ).

SPvP is currently the only game modality which does not provide a Karma reward, isn’t it?

What about put a little one upon win/lose a match?
This would be only an extra ( currently many are farming due to no pip loss and very decent spvp ranked reward ), so it wouldn’t affect the “kind” of players.

I would like something like this, though should be really hard to drope rare things.

I don’t remember very much about sab currencies, but we must consider that sab was like a seasonal event, and that’s also why the TP prices.

Maybe some kind of timegate ( though i don’t like it, i understand that this is a mmo and somebody wants a progression. And also the market will benefit from it ) could do the work?

Yes.
You can do every content with no stats issues.
And also drop the game for an instance a yeat and find your characters still capped at your return.

See a system that could work:
Let’s say that they add two versions of the same item in a new Fractal CM.
One version drops with high chances but it is account bound.
The other version has much lower chances but it’s not bound and you can sell it.

Both types of players are happy now. How possible is such a system though

And I’m expressing my dislike over tradable items in general. If the entire thing is only about tradebale items and how to acquire those and not about rewards in general then my mistake.

But it would and could be a positive thing to have a choice.

Let’s say that you took a break from GW2 and once back you find a cool item.
Now let’s say that you could have different possibilities:

-Seasonal ( it will be avaible next year )
-Historical ( it wont be avaible anymore, except in some occasions like memory boxes or events like halloween lottery )
-Achievement ( it requires specific things to do, and maybe time gate )
-TP/Gemstore ( it requires golds )

Having the possibility to buy it from the store would indeed be a great opportunity.
Maybe you wont have to wait till the next year, or maybe you are getting sick of timegate and instead prefer to directly buy one.

I mean, the way someone could get an item does not really bother me.
I am more interested in having an extra choice, in order to achieve something.

No they weren’t “earned”. The era of limited rewards and limited content is over, LS2 isn’t limited, LS3 isn’t limited. They changed from a temporary model to a permanent model, returning old limited rewards and make them like all new ones is making things consistent.

There is no longer temporary content in the game, therefore there shouldn’t be temporary rewards either. I think it’s not rocket science is it?

Guys, i don’t know why are you defending or justify this change.

Previously we could buy a gift for 500 badges, which were dropped easily.

Now we have to go through a track, for at least 7 hours of playing.
And also, the introduction of tracks for wvw is not going to be a choice, because the gift will be the main goal for most of us ( and also, not knowing if we’ll craft a legendary item in the future, will always be the best choice so far ).

That said, i doubt they are gonna change the way we can acquire a gift of battle, but still what is your problem in thinking that “have to play” 8 hours “a specific content with a specific track” is better than getting the item almost instantly while you can do what you want?

Really sometimes i find myself speechless while i read threads.

Anet: now for the chain event you are going to do will take 6 hours instead 1.

Group A: Why do we have to farm that more?

Group B: It is right because it is normal that if you want to save a City from an army you can’t do this in only 1 hour. 6 hours is fine, and if you are with a good group you will only need 5.

I’m pretty happy about it. I missed like 1/2 of that stuff back when I played the actual event. Never got that Halo tonic I wanted. Never was able to finish my Spinal Blades backpack. Now I did! Great idea imo

Really guys, let us face it.

There could 2 two type of responses which depend on the specific human being himself:

1- People who pretend that the others don’t have any chance to get what they have ( regardless of reason, which could be “a past event” or “a rng drop” or “a removed item” ).

2- People who are happy if somebody can get something that he couldn’t before ( or simply, people who don’t care about the others ).

If you want to complain about something, at least complain about the “RNG” acquisition, which is not the best way to complete a collection.

Welcome back.
I suggest you to start with a “trial”, using all classes you want into spvp ground ( just vs bots is fine ) in order to try traits, skills, weapons, and animations before wasting a boost on something you couldn’t like.

Revenants are fun imho, but seems that they are with the soulbeast currently the worst new specializzation. That said, everything changes ( planning to play a class just because is currently good/op won’t need that you have all classes maxed and account bound items to share. You can do this but you’ll need a little time ).

Ps: as a warrior you should try ofc berserk items, but also a condi build with the HoT specializzation could be worth a shot too.

Just making the jump pads more reliable would make the entire thing much less frustrating, while still focusing on the actual jumping puzzle part, and not just the “random splat” part.

Would be nicer checkpoints in every jp.

Why save it once you hit 300%? Right click destroy. Done. It served it’s purpose.

Usually i do something like this with standard currencies.
I simply set em into my invisible bag, and then when they are done ( 250+ ) i simply use em, sell em or delete em.
