Mending: This skill’s healing value per level has been increased by 25%. Healing power contribution has been increased by 20%. Fixed a bug that indicated that this ability removed 2 conditions when it actually heals 3.

Hybrid role as roamer/holder could have been good, but after 1 year and no balance, nobody cares if celestial was or not the problem.

We also had a great bunker meta ( hilarious ofc ).

It was the right choice ( also, new necks seems far away from celestial, which is also fine to me ), and now let’s see about balance into s2.

A bit frustrating due to Dragonhunters and scrappers( as Thief S / SB, soloq ).

started only after xmas, and nearly achieved ruby ( 4 pips left ).

Mainly, really below expectations ( matchmaking, afkers and disc, stronghold, premades vs pug, changings with season ongoing and season’s start with no test at all, etc etc… )

S2 “must” be better.

btw, want to see if with a good team thieves could be viable in meta torunaments ( atm just scared about elementalist nerf, due to dragonhunter comeback, and the buff to a non meta tree, which is acrobatics ).

This is comical: you get thief on team, everyone is moaning and asks thief to reroll. Thief gets tiny buff, people are moaning for nerfs…..

Also what about acribatics tree?

I mean, they buffed a non used tree and now we have a specific buff only “AA damage incrased”, when the major problem is a thief die by a single glance.

I accepts AA damage incrased, don’t get me wrong, but talking about the other things:

-If elementalist will be out of meta, thieves will be obliterated by guardians and maybe scrappers, due to higher surv into tf
-We should “considerate” to trade one of our actual trees with acrobatics. What would you drop for it? to me, DA, T and DD are both a must and way above.
-poor condition removal into a condition spam endgame ( as always, but now more conditions than before )
-no stability nor good bs ( shadowstep with a 50s cd, which is good for the skill itself don’t get me wrong, but then? another year with infiltration signet? well, the fact is we won’t be alive to use em )
-Dodge/Evade nerfed to the ground, due to modifies ( DH pull, which work from infinite dinstance and while dodging, Slick shoes, which works while dodging, hunter barrier and feel my wrath, which cannot be evaded and also knockback you. And also, knockbacks you while in teleport, like infiltration arrow ).

There’s no skill at all.
Before hot was about skill, now it’s a slaughtering.

If you think thief actually can trade and have something to do except what i wrote before, you are welcome.

I would like to dare and play like before hot, but due to new classes, thief simply can’t.

It’s not ideal for tournaments, but the class works when you play it right. Hell, I made it to diamond as D/P thief with a pretty casual schedule and a whole lot less skill than this guy.

It’s not about hit legend or not.
You can play a class and do it right and the class be underpower.
Thief is out of meta and will probably be out of meta in s2. What’s the point in see that he’s underpower and some1 hit legend or play it better?

And i like to watch good thieves.

edit: just saw now the link. orange logo thief ( high skill and just assisting/pressuring, and no 1v1. what was i talking about? and the few times he die is not his fault, but game’s due to balance ).

and i like it very much ( just saying has nothing to do about what i was talking ).

Protection is a boon, but is way more stronger than toughness.

All classes have access to Toughness, but not all classes have access to protection.
Before hot was not a big problem, but now it is.

I made some tries with a thief and both necks marauder and knight.
from 2029 armor to 3229 armor.

I lost vitality, which is better against condition, but the toughness gained was a joke.

is not that i die “meanwhile” during the fight ( it would be something to have a fight and lose because the enemy class is a bit more op or just more skilled the player ).
Simply there’s no chance to face other Marauder classes, cause they deal massive damage, and when you try to trade you lose instantly all your life.

For an instance, and engineer could kill me by 2S + 3S and a guardian just by traps.
Normally, with marauder equipment, you are gonna die the same way ( maybe a little faster, but due to high hp there’s not that difference ).

Incrasing toughness effects and lowering protection effects could solve the problem.
The same damage reduction from having both, but reverted benefits ( something like, toughness incrase effectivenes and protection reduce 10% physical damage ).

Or at least it would be nice to know how to play a zerk class with no sustain ( incoming balances are not going to nerf damage from guardian traps or scrapper. They are going to rule the meta cause nothing has been done meanwhile ).

If we are going to a non bunker meta, then why some marauder classes are tanky and deal massive random dmg?
And also, if we re to move again to a bunker meta, why some classes are not bunker/dps?

Actually as thief i have to roam, try to steal boss, aoe poison, fight the other thief ( it could be harder if you are S vs a d/p Blind/stealth spammer )… but is that possible have i to turn back if on a contested point stand another zerk? or just get downed by walking into a point cause half life?

well, i am talking too much about thief class, but still the question remains:
how can a class trade damage for survival if it simply can’t?

I don’t know other classes, but thieves respawn with endurance not full ( 50% if i remember right ).

Dunno if they have fixed the steal bug ( which allow you to mantein the item stolen before the match start ).

the problem with giving advices is easy to avoid by just offering this spectate service with a 5 minute time delay for example

If possible, this would fix everything i guess ( i know on other games it is possible, but don’t know about gw2 )… at last, what about lag issues due to spectating?

Maps support like 20 players, so it would be fine 10 players and 5 spectators.

The real problem tbh, is due the low population.
It could be used as an exploit to give advices.

I like the idea of a spectator mode, but i wouldn’t risk for.

Anet deleted also my non offensive message which claimed some players on forum play dumb and asking modifies, aiming to bring back celestial neck.

I do respect players who write about modifies which could bring balance to the game, but not who tries to avoid fixes somehow.

Also when is obvious that someone is trolling or pretending unbalanced mods instead searching for balance.

Really sad, anet.

Ps: also get a warning for a completely polite post… gah…

If you are a thief and 1 opponent come, better leave.
If warrior or thief is coming btw you can trade good, but other bunker classes are mostly like a bet.

I would say, depends on classes, score, map, your class.
If 3 comes and no1 comes to you, is bad coordination.
Try call by ping the mini map or write…is the only thing you can do

- track reward progress
- achievements
- daily quests
- league track rewards
- stronghold
- mixed premades and soloq
- unfair matchmaking

From ranked arenas.
The ones who remain will be the ones really are there for spvp.

The last thing Anet needs to do is apologize to ego’s who demand that the game is designed around their own wishes and fears to be confronted with the fact that maybe competitive games aren’t about progress all the time.

I’ve been pvp’ing for a very long, I consider myself casually good and have not been able to get out of emerald.
Big deal. You win some, you lose some. Maybe you should try to concentrate your frustrations on things that actually matter in life… It’s a game for god’s sake. Why people can take this so high is beyond me.

Not running a ptr, nor asking players for balance tips.
Also, releasing a game without testing pvp and started the first season without checking both matchmaking and balance… i know it’s a game man, but still they should read and watch what they gave.

And what about s2?
I am kinda worried about, cause they are not asking for help.

Guys you are talking about jewels and new necks.
Don’t you see now with 20+ necks players are using only 3/4 necks?

The point is, adding jewels or new necks will be the same.
Players will use always the best choice, which means:

-kitten celestial like necks, like the one posted by seyiwaji some posts before. Which emulate the old celestial, just removing the 2 worse stats.
-1 zerk neck. Cause berserk neck is not worth it and marauder is way better.

Etc.

We should have specific amulets with 3 main stats and 1 or 2 secondary stats ( vitality, ferocity, concentration and expertise ) due to give specific necks and prevent celestial to come back.

Also, force players to learn how to play.

Hi, i’m Shirlias and i play Thief ( and my friend plays Revenant )

Looking for 3 members to make a premade.
All players are welcome ( All classes/builds too, but would be nicer 1x class! )

I would like to put just 3 simply rules:

1) A little bit of English is needed, due to comcunicate and make up strategy.
2) Voice Chat needed ( TS,Mumble,Ventrilo,Skype…etc. nevermind which one ).
3) Mature players ( game tends to be toxic enough by matchmaking and soloq ), used to make and receive suggestion/critics.

Aiming to play the classes we like by cooperate and grow up together.
Would be nice to save 1 evening per week to play alltogether, but we can talk about this.

PM, Reply or add Shirlias in game.

diamonds are usually put against legends, so if they see they suck, they may have a point.
Also remember that the game allows soloq and premade to share the same queue, and actually the “pip” system is not worth it like the first 2 months.

So you don’t have any point.

That’s why ANET should have done their fix out of the season and not meanwhile.

I agree achievements into PVP are kitten, but still gw2 target is the casual gamer, not to be an E-Sport, so deal with it.

Its about the reason…..for the achievemnts. And since they cant lose divisions they cba to care. Its super toxic

They buffed AA of some weapons, and reworked a bit acrobatic tree.
As thief, i think there’s no way i can drop Deadly Arts, Trickery or DareDevil.

We have to see, but i’m not sure about Acrobatic ( both DD and T are a must, and Deadly arts seems better than acrobatics ).

The fact is you take too much damage, and to deal your you must trade damage the most. That’s why having more healt pool will be only a buff for bunkers.

ps: going all out with zerk amulet is not the solution tbh ( im thinking more about guardians, revenants and engineers than thieves and mesmers, which could move glasscannon out of meta again, cause more damage and more sustain ).

Cause celestial is the cause players are unable to learn how to play, and casual spam instead learn to watch enemy actions or use properly their cd.

The perfect example lies within tempests ( and other classes which have good healt pool and good sustain ).

You wan’t 5 stats?
Power, Condition,Toughnes,Precision,Healing.

Here’s back the kittenin celestial.
And still i say, NEVER.

Chose 3 primary stats, 1 secondary ( all new necks have vitality, which is always good ) and play.

ps: I said i forget vitality as secondary stats, there’s nothing hard to understand if you see my previous post when i wrote about 4stats necks.

i agree with cynz too ( and kevin too ).

GS damage actually is low, but we don’t need more ranged kittenin dps like DH, so both:

-Revert GS AA skill ( the more close, the more damage mesmer deal )
-Incrase a bit GS AA ( but remember, mesmer can use all skills he wants, but thief is linked to initiative. they said the want thieves to use more initiative for defensive skills… that’s why they are gonna to improve only AA damage instead giving thieves sustain or more heals ).

Well, usually i like to enjoy 1v1 as Staff thief vs:
-reapers
-tempests
-thieves
-chronomancers
-revenants
-warriors
-and sometimes druids.

Engineers and guardians are out of range to me

And its quite fun, cause i don’t play a blind/stealth spam build ( i like to dodge skills with both S 3 and S 5 ).

Still, if the party is not cooperating is hard to join and leave teamfight ( i mean, i know that feel ). You are meant the most for finishing a target ( bring him down, not stomping or finishing ) or help targets putting pressure on enemies with burst dmg.

The old season was way better tbh ( i can still enjoy this one, but yeah… we are out of meta ).

You use the argument that mesmers burst is useless because of the current bunker meta, yet, by the times these changes come it wont be that same bunker meta

This is the problem with most of the proposed balance changes people suggest, they list all kinds of buffs to counter what is OP right NOW while neglecting all the nerfs that are already going to happen at the same time, resulting in them suggesting WAY overcompensated buffs

Are you suggesting Thieves are about to be overcompensated?

AA is going to be improved, but about acrobatic tree…
… what tree should a thief remove to use acrobatic?

I think DA, T, DD are a must ( unless a new S/D build will come up, but still not sure to trade any of em for acrobatic ).
