Small player base.
Balance is pretty good atm imo. My main problem is reward/effort ratio for some specs, like turret eng.
No whining, just found the damage funny.

Also, if you see fewer d/d cele eles, it is because of a few of them are trying staff cele ele. Notice the cele part.
I don’t think it’s the amulet, eng’s are just like 5 classes combined into 1. Has there ever been a meta where ENG’s weren’t the best class in the entire game?
Asuras are the only reason I have to use standard enemy models. it’s obnoxious.
I was holding a node because I didn’t expect to get solod by a guardian using spirit weapons.
I have no idea how to play d/d celestial ele, so yes, I just thought that screenshot was hilarious.
That shows nothing but a prolonged battle in which you failed to kill the guardian. Over time that’s the TOTAL amount of burning damage you took, should you prolong the fight longer, obviously the burning damage would even be higher.
The point is the guardian didn’t do anything besides summon spirits, press staff 4, auto-attack me maybe once or twice and hit F1.
It took absolutely no skill on his part, as all pet specs do, and it’s hilarious these builds exist.
Why in the world did anet add this new boon, we already have low numbers of condi users in wvw and pvp,

You work together in SPVP, but 5 manning everything is a sure way to lose.

Yet I still took that much burn damage. ;p
I’ve won 3 games the entire time this events been up and I do 2 games a day. It’s usually 5vs3 and I join into a 250 to 50 score game.
The worst part is how zerging is encouraged and the winners are the ones that stick together the most. Bad minigame.
I agree with no swapping mid game.
character swapping shouldn’t be allowed. players who do this should get literally zero credit in rated games. For the join now, there should be an option to prevent someone from coming back as an option in the arena controls.
Until matchmaking makes sure I NEVER get double/triple mesmer/thief games this needs to be allowed.

I was on my d/d celestial ele which I have no idea how to play, and was 1v1ing a full spirit weapon guardian who did nothing but summon spirits then buff them with his staff. I tried to AOE them down.

DOTA2 queues are just as long and gets thousands of viewers every day.
That wouldn’t be worth taking in group pvp.

Glass cannon builds are the most interesting to watch for me personally.
WVW badges should be able to buy ascended gear that ONLY works in WVW. Having to PVE enough to get ascended gear just to be on equal footing in WVW is awful design.
The accessories for laurels/badges help but weapon is the main stat increase, at least add ascended WVW only weapons to WVW.
Armor is very minor and doesn’t matter.

No, because it’s better for the future of the game if pets/turrets aren’t a viable form of damage since they’re uncontrolled damage.
There are plenty of top tier players that dont do tournaments or are even well known. The ranking system means nothing when people dont play consistently. Hell maybe I will start streaming d/d ele and lb ranger gameplay.
I’d prefer if people streamed classes actually interesting to watch.

I rather they fixed leather by increasing its consumption. And gossamer, as gossamer is hitting the floor now. I think that silk price isn’t that bad right now.

Every other ascended mat is ~2.5-4g.
Damask is nearly 4x the amount of every other ascended mat. That’s awful design.
Nope, there’s no reason an action based dodge based game with nearly all damage being avoidable should have pets/turrets that you don’t even control and deal damage. It shouldn’t exist, they should be there purely for utility like spirits.
if you join a zerker only group and youre a warrior in full exotic zerker gear and have an ascended gs, with ascended rings and amulet but a low AP score and get kicked because of it,

I have 480 AP. I create my own lfgs, usually along the lines of the elitist “exp zerks only”. Like that I pug Arah daily, both on NA and EU. I have never been kicked in past 2 months of pugventuring.
So it seems the solution is to make your own lfg. Quite easy, right?
How is it possible to have 480 AP and be level 80? I don’t understand, are you intentionally avoiding achievements?

Turret eng isn’t viable in tournaments. The spec is too strong vs pugs. No one likes fighting turret eng’s.
Conclusion: No reason for the spec to be a thing. Buff turrets utility/survivability and nerf damage by a lot.
I haven’t died solo to a turret eng my entire time SPVPing, I ignore they exist and go do other objectives. The problem is my teammates that constantly attack the node they’re at and die over, and over, and over, and over. They’re too strong vs PUG’s.
I’m very nice to new players and tell them what to do and how things work, but they end up IGNORING everything anyone tells them to do, pull for no reason, refuse to stack, and can’t follow thus end up aggroing everything.
If new players could just follow the group around, listen, and tell them they’re new and don’t know what a boss does, it’d be fine. The problem is following 4 other people and listening is too difficult, so they end up being a liability and get kicked.
I don’t get what’s so hard about following/listening, I always did when I was doing a path I never knew how to do and besides dying to mechanics I didn’t know I didn’t grief the run or slow it down.
I have to constantly kick people who don’t follow as we stack and aggro mobs then stand there fighting them and get downed as we all spam “run back” “come” “stack” “run back”
Also, anyone below 3k AP is nearly always new to dungeons and doesn’t know how to play. Sub 1k AP 80’s make no sense and ALWAYS have no idea what they’re doing at all.

It does make sense though. Silk, as stated above, was way over supplied. Having 100 bolts, and 3 scraps per, makes a very effective silk sink. And there is about 3000 different sources for silk, the stuff is super easy to come by. Even more so with gear weighting loot on the light armor professions. However, people dont want to farm it, so they look to the TP to speed up the process, which is fine, but leads to an increase of prices on the TP. If you farm it, its not nearly as expensive, but does take time. Time that people arent willing to spend.

Grinding practice and unranked for the reward tracks I only see a game like that maybe 1/15 games. The vast majority are heavily one sided. Being on the receiving end of 100-500 10 times in a row pretty much kills SPvP for the next few days for me. I feel like I’m getting punished for not rage quitting like most of my team.

Calling someone bad isn’t how you have a discussion.
Medi guard is easy to counter.
It’s called get a ranged weapon & kite.
Unlike other melee they lack cripples and must rely on moderate/long CD teleports, much of which are tied to their stun breaks & self healing.
Ranged doesn’t counter medi guardian at all, they use scepter and you die to burn damage.

Dire P/D is the easiest, cheesiest, most disgustingly overpowered and self-disgracingly skill-less build currently in WvW small-scale.
Build needs removed from the game entirely.

It’d be nice if acrobatics had a grandmaster trait at all, it’s never worth going past 4 acrobatics for anything.
Well, Medi-Guard burst is not really an issue because it takes time to apply the burst and it can be countered with a stunbreak. It’s not INSTANT damage. Plus DPS-medi Guard defense is comically weak, at least in the case of a glass-cannon Thief, you have stealth/Shortbow/Shadow Step to gtfo if things go bad; a DPS Guard just has to take it to the face, so imo Guards aren’t really a “problem.”

How does stunbreak counter dps guardian burst? I can dodge every actual skill they use but if they hit me with a few auto-attacks I take 10k+ burn damage and end up dying purely from autos while they block/invul/heal EVERYTHING I do.
DPS guardian is sleeper overpowered.
Fixing their mistake of requiring 100 bolts of silk instead the standard 50 would obviously help some.
I assumed it was 100 because silk cloth was useless and everyone had thousands of it, it sold for more to NPC than TP. Now that it’s price has been fixed and all those thousand of silk have been used up, as well as silk actually having a use, it should be reduced to 50 like everything else.
I have no idea why they think it’s ok for damask to be more expensive than every other ascended mat.
8v8 is too many people.
Please nerf turrets damage and buff their utility/survivability.
That’s good design, it makes it much easier to balance the game. Would you prefer WOW style flip flop from op to up style balancing?
This talent would be great if it wasn’t competing with executioner.
