Key words “As soon as possible”, an ele/warrior will be applying poison in the 1v1 before teammates arrive, meaning the target will be lower health from less healing. That gives the ele/warrior an advantage they shouldn’t have because their class isn’t supposed to have this condition in the first place.

Doom sigil is completely and utterly broken beyond belief because it gives access to one of the strongest debuffs in the entire game with nearly 100% uptime to classes that are NOT supposed to have access to it.

You also need to remember how powerful poison is on downed bodies, where you used to go out of your way to make sure to poison the bodies with actual skills/abilities, but now you “accidently” poison them all the time on classes that shouldn’t even have access to the debuff.

This matchmaking is a failure

I get really bad matches on the weekend and much better matchmaking during week.

edit: After typing this message I just played a game vs a death blossom condition thief and p/p thief that I could beat 1v1 without going below 100% HP, and the rest of the team was just as bad. I could seriously 1vs5 the entire enemy team(and I’m bad..), the score was like 150 to 500 having 3 nodes all game, they only killed the lord and got some player kills.

33% healing reduction with nearly 100% up time on classes that are NOT supposed to have access to poison is better than anything you listed. Is 33% healing reduction really THAT underrated or misunderstood?

If everyone runs it and it’s so OP, then run generosity. It has the same CD and both removes the poison and gives it to your target.

If it’s not bad enough to need generosity, then your point is invalid.

You’re not going to give up doom/fire/air/intelligence/hydro/energy to counter doom sigil. It doesn’t even counter it because it’s not the only condition you have on you all the time because generosity has a 9 second ICD and only transfers a single condition.

This argument makes me so confused.

Crystal lodestones are 35s each, glacial lodestones are 43s each, corrupted lodestones are 72s each, destroyer lodestones are 72s each and charged lodestones are 2g 87s each. Those recipes were also added like 2 months after the game came out(I think? At least the weapons were).

It doesn’t take 4-5 hours for 36 days, it takes less than 2 hours of running dungeons for enough gold to afford 300 silk scraps.

I really want to know why Damask still takes 100 bolts of silk instead of 50 when silk is extremely expensive now.

My point was anyone arguing that ascended gear “isn’t worth it” is just being lazy or cheap, a stat increase is a stat increase no matter how minor.

Now back to the subject at hand, why does it still take 100 bolts of silk instead of 50 to make damask when silk is no longer worthless?

How come 2 years later, all lodestones not charged lodestones are still relatively cheap with no new recipes of importance added?

Why 2 years later, are charged lodestones still used for the majority of things and the most sought after lodestone? You can see this by the fact they’re over 4x the price of every other lodestone.

Glacial/crystal are by far the most useless lodestones as well, why weren’t weapons or anything useful added for them to craft into? I don’t understand this design decision, 1 lodestone to rule them all?

Doom’s dodgeable/invuln/blindable, I think it’s not the most overpowered sigil in the game.

Explain how classes that shouldn’t have access to poison(a HUGE 33% healing debuff) having essentially FREE access to 6 seconds of poison every 9 seconds isn’t overpowered.

Also, if it’s not the most overpowered sigil, what is?

Any chance someone could also summarize what the thread’s about at this point? It started out as being a whine about the cost of silk, and then mutated into a blob about ascended being necessary (it’s not, outside of easing the grind of AR in fractals and completing the achievement), silk being too high for damask (anyone remember when linen was more costly than silk at one point?), and cloth wearers being “shafted” by the crafting system.

Over 10% damage increase is 100% necessary, especially in WVW.

I have to say I love that Outfit but I personally would have liked it to be an armor which would be obtained in a slightly rework of Orr.
Just make it like Silverwastes so you can get special tokens (integrated in the wallet…) for completing events in the Orr zones and then have the tokens be tradeable at the temples (like Carapace Armor) with each temple having the armor of the specific god. Not only would that repopulate Orr bur it would also give new mix & match armor sets which can be earned ingame.
And yes I know this wouldn’t get them the money they get from putting it into the Gemstore but they already released tons of new Gemstore stuff in the last month..
So all in all: I agree it shouldn’t be a Gemstore item + it should be an Armor instead of an Outfit.

Please no I never want to go back to orr again.

I think this ZERKER mania is stupid.

Every dung finder says 80 lvl ZERKER only or kick. How could a new player of GW enjoy the game when some guy is so blinded by mass degeneration of community who believe that only way to go in dung is berserker stats build.

If this is truth then tell me why other stats are in game? Why are not berserker stats on every single item in the game? Because someone want to people think about their builds. Someone wants to people run different enjoyable builds. Then hodor hodor bam bam.

Please think about it. Not everyone enjoys just dmg. Someone wants to be support for the rest of the party. Or even healer in options of GW2.

Zerker is fastest and most efficient way to play, you can avoid nearly all the damage in the game and survive with zerker. There’s absolutely no reason to use any other gear set in dungeons, get used to it.

Over 2 years into the game and fractals 50 is still less rewarding than some dungeon paths – don’t even get me started with zerg farming. This is unacceptable.

Yeah it’s CRAZY how unrewarding fractals are, I don’t get what Anet is thinking.

Crit % and crit damage should be 1 stat, so you can have precision/power/condition damage gear or precision/power/healing gear in PVE.

I just use shadow shot over backstab, people RANDOMLY dodge my backstabs when I come in with signet + steal while stealthed when I stealthed out of their sight 24/7. If you try to black powder – > HS – > backstab people always dodge it in 1v1 situations 100% of the time Majority of my damage is sigil procs, shadow shot and auto’s. I feel like I’m doing it wrong but it’s so much easier to deal damage that way than to attempt to backstab, and the damage isn’t much lower if lower at all.

The only reason strength rune wasn’t used for so long was because the 5% damage bonus was BUGGED and didn’t work. No idea why they decided to buff it from 5% to 7% as well, 100% unneeded.

Rune choices are a lot better now imo, there was barely and good runes before and so many were bugged. Would be nice if they’d fix some of the weaker runes and nerf some of the extremely strong ones though!

Can the burrow defense part be deleted until it’s revamped or changed? It’s incredibly boring and the only boring dungeon path in the game(imo). I get so bored since it’s basically standing around doing nothing for 5 minutes. Lasts too long and too easy.

Until the taunt changes go in with HoT we don’t have any form of ability to tank. And even with that change it’s not going to cause a sudden need for tanks as survivability and healing are still not here.

Why do people still think taunt = tank and ignores defiant?

I feel like venom share is what’s holding venoms back entirely, they’re balanced around that trait so without giving them to 4 other people they’re extremely weak. I want venom share to not be a thing at all honestly.

In this case venoms would compete with signets in the category of self buffs/utilities.

Venoms naturally shared could open up more support options for the thief who is currently lacking in this regard.

I see what you’re saying, yeah that’d be a lot nicer. The healing venom trait(leeching venoms) should be moved to acrobatics or deadly arts as well.

It has no use in PVP too. Acrobatics doesn’t have a single usable grandmaster trait, and vigorous recovery is the only good major trait in the entire tree. 3 points in acrobatics is all you need to get everything good in the tree.

Venoms and traps for thief, especially venoms not basilisk, extremely weak and not worth using. 1s of chill x3? 1 stack of vuln x3? Remove venom share and rebalance venoms around only the thief having them applied, shadow arts is already the most bloated tree in existence, no reason for it to have SO many good traits while a tree like acrobatics doesn’t have anything past 3 points.

I’m not exactly sure what MMO’s you were playing because this isn’t the case at all, outside of PVE GW2 has more viable builds than any other MMO.

Sorry but 2 maybe 3 viable builds per class is nothing amazing. WoW had that a decade ago, since tons of games copied WoW, by extension, so do they. GW2 is not great in viable build variety and certainly doesn’t have the most viable builds. It has tons of sub-optimal builds though, that’s mostly due to incredibly poor balancing and bad game design. Although you could make a sub-optimal build in WoW vanilla as well by just slapping points into random trees so it’s really nothing to be proud of.

No, 2-3 viable builds per class in PVP is more than any MMO ever made.

This map is easily fixable, just make it so no one can res until an entire team is wiped out, then reset and start another “round” with a 10s delay until the match starts again.

It’s horribly designed atm since you can just res zerg over and over.

Hi john, could you please share some insight on why you don’t feel it’s a good idea to reduce the cost of crafting damask from 100 bolts of silk down to 50?

Or reducing the linen required from 20 bolts down to 10 bolts, since it’s a t4 mat and costs nearly 5s per linen at the moment, which is basically double of any other material of it’s tier.

Damask is over 4x the price of any other ascended mat, required for every single piece of ascended armor regardless of type, and takes even more if you’re a light armor wearer. Seems a bit unfair and wonky.

Hey, I’m curious if it’s possible that we can get instanced versions of all the world bosses not wurm/teq(or at least orr/dragons) in HOT? Like 5 man dungeon versions. The fights are potentially fun/interesting when done with a small group, but since mega servers they’re just zerged by 150 people and pose no challenge.

I would enjoy them in 5 mans, can that be a thing? I imagine this wouldn’t be TOO much dev time to implement.

How long you been playing this game?

That build has a big disadvantage vs every class 1v1 and is awful in team fights too because you have 6 points in shadow arts.

Not that i’m surprised by that. As far as i’ve seen, all these proposals are aimed only at making turrets useless.

Turrets being useless is ALWAYS better than them being viable in their current form.

Thief isn’t bad, people are just upset that you can’t spike someone down the way you used to. It actually takes a little more skill to fight. You have a crap ton of evades, blinds, interrupts, and easy access to stealth. Once you learn how to use those it is almost impossible to die in a 1v1 fight.

You can run from p/d, s/d takes a decade to kill you, has no team fight potential, and you can probably run from it before it kills you as well.

I’d like turrets to be extremely tanky by default but deal zero damage, and instead provide passive benefits/utility much like spirits from ranger.

Funnily enough they already can be traited to provide might, vigor, swiftness, fury, retaliation, and protection (one grandmaster trait, depends on turret) to everyone in 600m radius at 10 sec intervals.

Yeah that’s what they should be used for, purely utility/buffs!

I don’t really have a problem with ranked most of the time. Sometimes I get a row of games where I’m against much lesser skilled opponents and I get confused as to what’s happening.

I main a turret engineer – have been playing one almost since release.

I do agree that when an engineer gets out of range to a certain point, turrets should auto destruct.

Sure, if picking them up reduces the cooldown by like 75% instead of 25% so that they can be more mobile or fight off point as well. All what you’re asking for will do is make the stereotype of a turret engineer sitting on home all game 10x worse. I know you mean well but that’d give incentive to play worse.

Spec shouldn’t be a thing at all and dumbs down the game as a whole. Turret spec should get 0 compensation for any nerfs it receives, I’m all for build diversity but if diversity means abominations of specs like this, no thanks.

New daily system is great EXCEPT for spvp! Remove all spvp dailies that aren’t win x games or kill x players, getting people on your team who are playing classes they have no idea how to play or are double/triple capping a node just to complete a daily isn’t fun. There should NOT be PVP related dailies that encourage you to do things that DON’T help your team win.

I’m not sure what’s with all the complaints about the PVE dailies, please don’t listen to those people anet.

For example, the fractal daily is really good as you get another free pristine fractal relic for running it, that’s so rewarding! Yet when it’s the daily people seem like that daily doesn’t exist? The most rewarding dailies are the ones people seem to “hate” and “avoid”, makes no sense. Dailies barely give anything besides some AP, but the actually rewarding ones that take some effort to do are ignored, lol.
