I dunno, I have a legendary and enough mats +gold to finish another whenever I want and I stopped playing for like 2 years straight. I don’t even do things that are the most efficient for gold, I just play the game and PVP. Don’t really trust their metrics TBH.
It seems to have done more harm than good in less than 3 months. I felt like gaining gold to buy gems was easier, if that was their intention then ok I guess.

Their metrics could be flawed by casual accounts that play once per month or people who don’t even do HoT zones or anything that gains gold then complain they don’t have gold, so yes.
I don’t see how there’s a big difference between the “haves and have nots”. Just go to nearly any zone and make 100g every few days of just playing the game and gathering stuff you see.
I feel like anet is just looking at people who don’t even play the game or extreme casuals? The 2g dailies have done nothing but inflate everything from my POV.
I took a 2-3 month break and in that time nearly every high price high demand material has DOUBLED in price, while going up day by day. I see no positive aspects from this free 2g a day daily, only double increases in prices.
The economy seems worse than it was, with everything hyper inflating and constantly increasing.

Adding 2g to the daily was really silly imo. I don’t see why it was needed as all it’s done is cause huge inflation on EVERY SINGLE ITEM in the game. Every account just adds 2g more to the economy per day with very little effort.
They shouldn’t do that. They should just remove passive autocast CC from the game entirely, starting with this rune.
and then you have the d/d condi thief, which is literally just dodge, #3, dodge, #3, dodge #3. Not even remotely fun to play or play against.
Death blossom condi thief makes me really sad when I play. I want it to not exist at all.
Edit:. I wasn’t talking about slowing APM, more like having longer, more stale fights.
I think slower stale fights is really bad for the game and not fun.

i love it when ppl come to complain about condi users being bad and that condi should be nerfed, yet they probably die to condi because they dont know how to read specific tells and/or how to fight a condi user.
This is the exact same argument people used to defend turret eng. That spec is now no longer a thing.
As cynz said, it’s so much easier to outplay and punish a power player while condi users can do whatever they want with little to punishment or counter the majority of the time.
Condis being this strong and easy is bad for the health of the game competetively.
Do I want a precursor or 3 bag slots for my character? Pretty much there atm.
I feel bad for new players.
I think a really big fatal flaw with conditions is the fact that none of my defensive abilities, boons(I don’t have resistance), or stats(toughness) do anything at all to protect me from them. It was ok back when cleansing to condi application was pretty balanced, but now we’re at the point where conditions are basically not cleansable at all times and are equal to power builds in terms of burst and DPS.
I think it’s time to make protection/toughness work on condis. Or hand out resistance to nearly every class.
I feel like we should discuss offhand dagger, especially in comparison to our other offhand options.
Currently, I feel that offhand dagger is lackluster. The recent buffs to fire grab is nice and a step in the right direction, but I still feel that offhand dagger is really lacking.
Compared to warhorn it has:
Worse damage, worse group healing, worse utility, worse support, worse survivability.
Let’s start with fire. Ring of fire and newly buffed fire grab are actually good abilities, and maybe on par with warhorns ability to spread might/fury. Not sure if wildfire still does much more damage than fire grab + ring of fire, but I think they’re about equal now maybe when you compare all 4 of the offhand skills. Pretty nice.
For water, I feel like frost aura just doesn’t fit dagger offhand at all. Dagger offhand seems like the pure damaging weapon and frost aura doesn’t provide much healing(when traited with elemental basion) and requires being water 30 to really benefit your group. With warhorn being a much better support/healer weapon, I feel that frost aura is really out of place here. Cleansing waters is good, but outclassed completely by the 2 warhorn offhand skills. Tidal surge(warhorn 4) offers breakbar potential and a pretty ok heal, while wate globe is a great heal that causes a movable water field you can burst! Fantastic skill. Overall, warhorn provides much better group healing, self healing, self survivability, and offers break bar help.
Now we move onto lightning, where I think dagger offhands core ability comes from. I feel like ride the lightning is a fanstic mobility skill, and updraft provides some break bar utility. However, warhorn provides cyclone, which is a much better breakbar ability and lightning orb, a strong damaging ability that provides a DPS increase. Dagger offhand provides no such DPS increases. Warhorn again, wins by a land slide.
Finally, we move onto earth. For dagger, earthquake is an good breakbar ability but comes with a HEFTY cooldown of 45 whole seconds, this ability is also a nice blast finisher but again, 45 second cooldown. Churning earth is a pretty useless ability that you don’t use for anything besides blasting, and rarely that. Looking at warhorn, it provides AOE protection + magnetic aura + blast finisher + boon increase on it’s 4 skill with only a 30 second cooldown! Fantastic skill that helps out a lot defensively for you and your allies. It’s 4th skill, dust storm, applies apulsing bl ind AOE which again helps you and your allies with suvivability a lot. Two fantastic survivability skills vs daggers horrible churning earth and long cooldown break bar ability. Warhorn wins by yet another land slide.
This is getting a bit long, so for focus I’ll just say earth 4/5 provide unmatched self survivability and air 4 provides an incredible projectile field for all of your allies. You use this weapon in situations you need additional proj reflect and self survivability. Focus has unique uses and reasons to use it over warhorn(Mainly swirling winds).
I feel that dagger offhands best ability and only real defining reason to pick it is ride the lightning(RTL). That is the only real redeeming unique ability it brings, while lacking in every other aspect. It’s a real shame.
I think dagger offhand either needs to be the “mobility weapon” the “damage weapon” or something. I’m not sure – but right now it’s completely outclassed by warhorn in pretty much every situation in PVE, and when you need more survivability and projectile reflect focus completely outclasses it. Dagger offhand is not a jack of all trades weapon, it’s simply a subpar weapon, imo.
I hope anet keeps giving dagger offhand love, because it really, really needs it.
Does rune of nightmares interrupting you really cause interrupt traits to proc? If so that’s really crazy, overload air and then get rune of nightmare procced and have multiple conditions on you without that person even knowing you exist.
Not fun imo.
You do not need mastery to equip ascended armor. Ascended armor is BIS gear. You do not even need ascended armor to do all the content in the game. You can just use exotics. None of this requires a grind.
You’re CHOOSING to grind.
There’s no grind. There’s only goals to work towards that aren’t required to play the game.
It’s fantastic and gives the same tons of replay value.
I love HoT and it’s the best thing to happen to GW2 in a long, long time!
Please do not listen to people complaining about it, you did a good job and a vast amount of us thoroughly enjoy the challenge and design of the maps, hero point system, meta system, and everything about HoT.

Auric basin chests pay for themselves with aurlium lumps you get per opening(grands). You do not get any currency back from opening noxious pods, and machetes are much more expensive.
Noxious pods also give much less loot.

Need to bump up the mid tier leather/cloth supply a bit and make mithril less common and materials will be pretty well balanced.
You do not have to do events to get keys. You get your key back per grand chest you open.

Yeah unlocking full bag slots is now becoming more expensive than precursors.
Something needs to be done because paying $20 or a precursor worth of gems for 3 bag slots(which is almost mandatory at this stage in the game to be able to play that character) isn’t very good for new players.
hoping this gets noticed and fixed as well. people who abuses it are the ones defending it on forum right now.

I haven’t partaken in this because I have been unaware / busy with dailies and work and such but it does sound like an exploit to me. I will jump in and give it a shot on the weekend.
I have reported this exploit and bug to Anet via the in game tool and forums. I suggest everyone else to do the same.

Auric basin chests after the octovine are lootable by anyone, even people who did not participate in the event. I think this is a bug because it means you can hop between maps after the meta completes and get 3-4x the intended loot amount. Lots of people are doing this and I feel that it’s upsetting the economy.
Hello, currently Cleansing ire(defense grandmaster trait) and scorched earth(longbow berserk skill adrenaline spender) is not working properly correctly. Cleansing ire states it removes 1 condition per adrenaline used, but it’s removing 9 conditions per use of scorched earth.
Could this be fixed ASAP please? It’s making warrior stronger than it should be in PVP atm.

It’s just really not fun to get CCed into bad positions by someone not even pressing buttons or realizing they’re doing it.
You’re comparing doing things that isn’t making gold to people making gold.

Soldiers/clerics mix for WvW.
It’s unfair because it means that if you aren’t doing it you’re making less gold/hour than someone doing it.
It means the items from the chest are going to drop in price, while the cost of everything else is going to up in price.
It ruins the economy. It’s bad for the game.
3 bag slots( basically mandatory on every character you want to play if you want to do anything at this point, honestly) costs as much as over half the precursors in the game now.
$20 of gems just to buy 3 bag slots isn’t ok either.
These prices were ok when you could just buy stuff like bags/bank space for gold and then spend USD on stuff like gliders/skins(Which are properly priced at $4-8 each), but with the gold to gem convert rates we have right now, no, not at all

Yeah pretty much the problem is that the entire node is covered in conditions and you can’t go anywhere near it without being feared/dotted up to hell.
Thus why people think conditions are “no skill” because people are just pianoing all their conditions onto the node everytime they come off cooldown and doing tons of damage, while a power based build has to time their damage properly the condition is sitting there just aoe bombing the node over and over with zero thought.
It’s much easier to be effective as a condition player than a power player because of how easy it is to just AOE bomb and stack conditions onto a small point.
Key ring for all our HoT zone SW and Dry top keys. Takes up 1 inventory slot for all our keys.

For me that’s not entirely true. I find a lot of use in it for making exotic accessories because the minor stat difference between them and ascended aren’t ever going to be worth the 50 ectos and 40 laurels. True, you can buy most of the exotics for relatively cheap; but if I’ve got the mats at hand then free is an even better price.
Also, I find jeweler useful for farming Essence of Luck. I haven’t yet maxed out my MF, so when my bank gets too full of silver or mithril it gets converted into Essence of Luck and usually a ding from Agent of Entropy.

Thief is really fun in open world but it’s actual dps rotation in anything difficult is mind numbingly boring.
I like burnzerker warrior because it’s fun to press buttons on(but has almost no depth.
I bet this person got screwed over and joined a squad doing it and their map failed and the other map that succeeded was full or they crashed and missed everything so now they are bitter. Hahaha. Gotta love bitter Betty’s always worried about everyone else but themselves.

If you have to waste skills on someones PASSIVE proc they had to have 0 user interaction to make work, then something is wrong with the game. Especially when it’s CC that can make you run off a node or into a bad spot or even off cliffs.

Keys are rate limiting.
The only thing it’s doing is suppressing ecto prices, which are already off the wall to high inflation.

Because it’s killing the rest of the game. Don’t you get it? GW2 is completely dead now except for this one lone map. Dead I tell you. Dead.
Joke all you want, but it’s actually going to ruin the economy and kill off other areas of the game if let alone too long. Humans take the path of least resistance, and right now auric basin is by far that path.
You can’t just let an easy exploit go unfixed for months.

Druids are unkillable.
Engs run around doing whatever they want.
Elementalist can easily die to burst and CC.
This doesn’t seem like proper matchmaking.
They shouldn’t be a strong as they are because condition damage doesn’t take any real skill, set up, or proper timing to use. You kinda just spam buttons. Power builds have to deal with block, invuls, dodges, etc and have to actually time their damage perfectly.
Condition is really easy to play.
Just pressed lightning overload on khylo and got rune of nightmare proc feared off the top by a MESMER.
That isn’t ok. Please remove this proc. The player did not do anything and did an amazing play.

While power builds have to time their damage between blocks, invuls, dodges, and what have you, condition builds can just press their buttons whenever they want and eventually randomly kill you.

While i agree some condi “Bursts” are not good, 2-3 condi classes would mean the game is balaced between condi/power. And in reality we see about 1/3 condi builds average. I know its a bad feeling that condis are out and can kill you but it dosen´t seem to be to much….
I know i die to most mesmers but this doesn´t mean i loose a match … I avoid dueling them and eiter win the teamfight or a duel against a class i can beat…
And the rising condi warriors. I had a hard time bating good power warriors. The new condi ones don´t kill me, the fight becomes a stalemate now. So not all is about meta builds and the picture is over a lot of classes …
2-3 on the enemy TEAM, sometimes 4. Rarely 5.
6-8 per match, sometimes upwards of 9.

Ele has no mobility, 40s CD 900 yard blink wooooo.
Necros have more mobility than eles by a lot thanks to reaper shroud 2.
Please fix exploits like this Anet. It’s obviously not working as intended.
