I can't believe Tequatl can fly

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Shufflepants.9785

Well yes, because here’s the thing. Those things are normal magic. But Tequatl actually has wings and actually flaps his wings to fly, so I assume that he’s using his wings to fly, not magic. I don’t see him summon a magic carpet to fly or a broomstick, he clearly uses his physical (in game) wings to fly. The wings would never work, you have to admit that.

You know what they say about when you assume things…. something about kittens.

The reason those those wings look like they wouldn’t be able to fly is because you’re right, he can’t fly. But also, they aren’t really wings, they’re magic gravity appendages that don’t push Teq into the air, they force the entire planet down. How silly you look thinking he could fly…

I would literally spend money to have a tool that can cheese these things.

I would literally spend money to get ANet to put more jumping puzzles into the game. They are about my favorite thing in this game with their only flaw being that they aren’t quite as fun to do after you’ve done them once and I’ve already done all the ones that exist in the game right now.

ZudetGambeous, the arguements you’re making are only tangentially relevant here. Others in this thread are not merely claiming that the current loot distribution mechanics are not optimal for increasing player fun and enjoyment. They are specifically claiming that there are mechanics in the game code that specifically reward some players consistently and consistently fail to reward other players. They believe that their accounts are cursed to have lower drop rates than other players. Some think that the system is merely accidentally broken, but other’s have put on tinfoil hats and believe that ANet has done this intentionally.

I can agree that having some kind of streak-breaking pseudo-random algorithm for loot drops would be more amicable. But that is not the discussion at hand and probably belongs in its own thread so we do not drown in tinfoil.

What we see is exactly what would be expected from a reasonable, working, unbiased RNG.

A couple summers ago I spent a lot of time recording detailed data from things like the mystic forge, bags, mining nodes, and the like – not just aggregate output numbers, but drop by drop recordings.

Thousands upon thousands of records, and the whole set is entirely consistent with a maximum entropy (zero memory) process. I’ve beaten it with every tool in the book at this point, and there’s no funny sub-sampling or dynamic behavior going on. It’s a perfectly boring draw with replacement system.

My numbers are also wholly consistent with every other big data post I’ve ever seen over the years – so if there is such an ‘unlucky’ or ‘lucky’ account out there, it has never actually been observed under statistical scrutiny.

I’m not sure I understand the point you’re getting at with your post. Did you mean to refute or support my post. If you’ve done an extensive study, I would hope you understand that on a sample size much larger than yours (the entire game’s population), one would expect to see more outliers. But I can definitely agree, we’ve never seen such outliers presented with any kind of rigorousness. All we get is a dozen stories about some one who knows a guy who knows a guy who put 4 rares into the forge and got 4 eternity’s out.

Also, I, and probably others on these forums, would be interested to see what data you have for curiosity’s sake. Not that I think there’s anything hokey going on, just that we never get to see good examples of drop rate percentages in this game because mods are not allowed which makes data much harder to collect. Though, I’d recommend posting your data in a new thread; maybe link to it here.

If anybody want to prove there is a conspiracy, you would have to get enough samples. I’m talking about tens of thousands of people having the exact same experience and logging every little loot every single time as proof.

The truth is, you can’t prove it. How many people have come forward about this? 10? 20? 50? You know that’s not a big enough sample. For those 50 people, there could be 200 who haven’t seen any difference between their accounts and haven’t said a word on the forum or reddit because there’s nothing to say.

Is it possible? Yes.
Can you prove it? No.

Indeed. Perhaps all we should do with threads like this in the future is spam them with:

“Repeat after me: The plural of anecdote is not data!”

The evidence is that it is a possibility that RNG could or may be rigged. Yes it cannot be proven without insider knowledge, but we know that’s not the point.

Fact: Its a reasonable possibility. Its doesn’t need to be proven because it is “proof” in and of itself.

Possibility does not automatically become a reasonable possibility without any proof. So far not only i have seen no proof that is more concrete than loud shouting and handwaving, but the conspiracy theories i have heard so far were in general pretty unreasonable (with many going well beyond that, into the realm of ridiculous or downright hilarious).

I’ve already given the “proof”: none of us work for Anet, none of us have the exact algorithms the servers use to calculate RNG, and none us can say can say whether or not unknown actors are at play. All if this can be gathered without attempting to prove anything, yet it does when the “point” being made is a “possibility”.

Possibility is the hypothetical, not the actual.

Yes. Hypothetical. Not reasonable.
Hypothetically, Aliens and Illuminati can exist as well, but if you’ll start using this as a basis for discussion, without any proof of their existence, you will be only laughed at (and for a good reason).

…and some of the RNG conspiracy theories are not even hypothetical, they are just dumb.

TL/DR: you can say that we can’t prove you’re wrong, but i still say that the possibility of you being right, while it does exist, is so vanishingly small we may as well ignore it without any further data.
Seriously, the only thing most of those threads are good for is a good laugh (double points if you know a bit about probability or programming, or both, and can spot the rampant ignorance). And sometimes not even that.

Fair enough, can’t argue any further.

Let this stand as a testament to arguing on the internet; a monument that proudly displays an example of people having a reasonable discussion and coming to some amount of common ground and understanding. Let it not be said that the internet is only for porn, cats, and trolling, for here, I proclaim, there has been communication!

Almost brings a tear to my eye.

Another thread, another failure to understand statistical variance.

Also, your presented dichotomy is a false equivalence. You admit in your very first paragraph that there is no evidence to support “RNG is Borked”. To quote Christopher Hitchens, “That which can be asserted without evidence, can be dismissed without evidence.”

But it’s worse than that. We can not only dismiss the claim without evidence because it has none supporting it, we have evidence to indicate it is not the case. Even a cursory understanding of statistics would allow one to see that just by pure chance on a sample size as large as the player population would lead to many (a large number, but a small percent) having an uncanny drop rate for good loot (in both directions, lots and none). What we see is exactly what would be expected from a reasonable, working, unbiased RNG.

Furthermore, any suggestion that ANet would actually have an incentive to create an intentionally, and secretly, broken RNG system is specious at best. The cost benefit of such a move is wholly in the red. Even if you think that the arguments for its effectiveness at making ANet more money would actually work (which I do not think they would), the additional amount that it would make the company is far outweighed by the negative repercussions that would follow should such a plan actually come to light.

I’m also quite sure that some one at ANet actually has gone and run the numbers (because they actually have access to the data) to detect if there is a problem as described. And I’m sure that what they’ve found very closely matches the distribution that would be expected from an unbiased RNG, and that the only reason they haven’t come forward with their data is because there would be no point. Those conspiracy theorists that defend the idea that there are “cursed” and “blessed” accounts are not going to be convinced by the math because people like me have already tried. ANet trying to do so would only fall on deaf ears who would only see ANet’s attempt to assuage their concerns as an attempt to cover up the truth, because that’s how conspiracies are fed; how conspiracy theorists react to cognitive the dissonance of confronting evidence that does not conform to their beliefs. It all must be part of the conspiracy.

Ascended Gear and Specializations

I think the biggest question to be answered:
How are we to regain the 30% condition or boon duration. Currently the only way to increase condition duration from gear is giver’s weapons yielding a maximum of 20% additional condition duration. And as for boon duration, I think it would take a full set of giver’s armor to even reach 10%.
These are hardly something you can just swap out 1 or 2 pieces of gear to correct for.

Sun beads are only used in quantities of 75, the have no other sense in the game than building Hylak-weapons, where you need 75 per weapon.
It’s quite censored to sell them 1-by-1 and not in quantities of 75.

That’s not strictly true. There is a jewelcrafting recipe that uses just 3 of them.

The things I’m worried about are various utility traits that I take on several characters where I only put 2 points in for things like Warrior’s Sprint and Mug . Where I wouldn’t bother putting any more points in those lines for any of the other traits there even if I had the points.

The other thing I’m worried about are traits that I like to take multiple of from the same tier. In almost every build I use on my thief I take at least 2 of :
Shadow Protector
Shadow’s Embrace
Cloaked in Shadow

If it were possible, to put 8 points into Shadow Arts, I would probably do it to get all 3 of those plus Shadow’s Rejuvination . Heck, I think the fact that I generally want as many of those I can get is the reason I feel like I can’t play a venomshare build. Because if it were possible, and I had 18 points to cherry pick the traits I wanted, I’d probably end up going 6/0/12/0/0 so that I could get all four of:
Shadow Protector
Shadow’s Embrace
Cloaked in Shadow
Shadow’s Rejuvination
plus:
Venomous Aura
Leeching Venoms
Now that would be a support build.

But with these changes I’m going to be stuck with at most 1 of those first 3 I mentioned unless they combine or move some of them…

I never manage to keep those in my inventory very long considering there’s 4 bandit chests when you beat the meta-event boss and sometimes I convert them into greater nightmare keys. I understand you can buy them with crests (and I guess some people don’t care about buying all the other things for sale with crests), but if you get on a chest farm map, there’s tons of other people and only 1 of them needs to have a shovel.

Increase all running speed by 10%

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Shufflepants.9785

Shufflepants.9785

WvW (and spvp) are the places I would be completely against increasing run speed. It needs to take awhile to get across the map so that you don’t end up with an endless train of respawns. Which isn’t really too much of a problem if you have a comparably sized group, but if you were a small group that only has enough supply for 1 or 2 rams, it often takes long enough to kill the door that there’s time for a couple of defenders to try to stop you, you kill them, they respawn and show back up with a few more friends before the door is down (one of the reasons giant blobs are so preferred, a blob of 30 people can nearly take 6 towers faster than 6 groups of 5 people could split up and take 6 towers in parallel).
Personally, it feels like spawns are already way too close to the objectives in spvp for how fast players can move. You can be fighting 2 players at an objective, kill one, and have the other player already back and attacking you before you can kill the second in some situations.

Though, mostly what I would wish for is larger maps. Would that be ok with the OP? If we increase everyone’s running speed by 10% and simultaneously make all WvW and spvp maps 10% larger?

you guys are aware that there was a plane crash/suicide in europe last week, right?

You are aware that roughly 150,000 people in the world die every single day and as such we can’t cease all humor everywhere every time some one dies, right?

i am aware that it is considered cool to play the delusioned hard guy and throw statistics arround to rationalise the death of people. i really wonder why people have to do this. i am also aware that many people that play mmo´s (judging from my servers TS channel) don´t give a dime for what happens in the real world. but i invite you to reconsider your point.

do i have the right to rationalise the death of people.
do i have to compare the importance of peoples death with one another?
do i have to attack people and call them either names or hypocrites because they stand for what they think are moral standards?
what are my moral standards?

and no i do not need more discussions along the lines, everyone dies, grow a pair, cry some more, they were only frensh/german/spanish.
there has been quit a lot of grief on both sides, as is normal in a forums discussion ( as we are not able to kick each others faces in, what seems to be what quite a lot of people in this forum seem to want) i don`t think either side will “win” anything by flaming each other.
Simply reconsider if you have to attack people as hypocrites for talking about deaths that they might care for just because you do not.

My point is not one of hypocrisy or rationalization. It’s one of common sense and pragmatism. As much as any good person would like to empathize and sympathize for the loss of a life in the world, no one can grieve for everyone. It’s simply too overwhelming. If we had to give pause for all tragedy civilization would come to a grinding halt.

This is not to say that you are weak for being emotionally affected by a recent tragedy. If that event affects you personally, you have my sympathies. And grieving for such a loss is totally reasonable.

What is not reasonable is to expect the rest of the world to stop and do the same. Why should all references to airplanes be stopped? Because an airplane was involved? Should ANet have avoided any references to humans because it was humans that died? Should all references to the ground be avoided because that’s what they crashed into? Should ANet remove gliders from the expansion because they’re too much like airplanes? Should we avoid all references to death because people died?

And why do you even see a connection between what happened and this April Fools? It’s not like players got jet engines on their backs and periodically explode. They just have their arms out with WW1 era aviator hat and goggles. Should all airlines in the world have cancelled all flights for the next month or so because those are airplanes too?

You say everyone knows that people die everyday but that this particular plane crash is somehow special or more significant. Why?

I’ve definitely seen the extent to which the camera changes have increased the effectiveness of arrow carts, but instead of all these clunky, difficult to implement, and hair-brained plans I’ve seen suggested to fix arrow carts, I think I might have already seen in game what the solution is.

When I used a guild arrow cart yesterday, it seemed to affect my camera height and FOV back to what the normal limits used to be. But this did not happen with regular carts. At the time, I thought it was just a bug in that I thought that that was supposed to happen with regular carts as well. But if that was not how ANet intended it, then perhaps they should consider it:

Make it so that when you interact with an arrow cart, your camera height and field of view are temporarily restricted to the old limits.

Proposal Overview
Change to Influence, instead of only adding for the guild you are currently representing have it add for all the guilds that you are a part of.
Goal of Proposal
Combat the idea of 100% rep. Maybe it’s just me but I feel that the idea of 100% rep goes against the idea of 5 guilds that I think is a great idea GW2 had.
Proposal Functionality
Currently many guilds require 100% rep because they then get all the influence you acquire. Which makes sense, if everyone is chipping in it’s easier to maintain buffs and run guild missions and basically just use the cool tools guilds have. But, what are my other 4 guilds for then? Of course one of them is a personal bank if you’re a hoarder like me. But then I still have 3 spots sitting there. If influence were the same whether you 100% rep or not I think most would be more willing to have people be part of the guild without having to be devoted solely to that guild. I always figured the 5 guilds were so you could have different guilds for different activities. I could have a WvW, a World boss, a PVP, and a Dungeon guild for example. But currently that just doesn’t really work because they each want me to rep them constantly.
Associated Risks
It would lessen the devotion to a single guild, I could see how some would say that’s bad. But, I think it’s a worthwhile loss to get the full effect of the 5 guild slots.

For your info, my guild is 100% rep and we didn’t enforce 100% because of influence.
I don’t understand why people saying guilds enforce 100% rep because of influence. Just because some lesser guilds do that doesn’t mean all guilds do that.

He didn’t say your guild enforces 100% rep because of influence, just that many guilds do. We say that many guilds do because we have personally seen/heard about guilds who do this.

I see a variety of comments on feeling more attachment to a specific guild and a lot of talk of the # of guilds people are a part of and the fear that is causing a lack of attachment. This lack of attachment keeps players players from being compelled to belong to any of their guilds instead of being compelled to belong to all of them (which was the original intention of this design of guilds as more social groups rather than as exclusive cliques).

I’d love to see some discussion on how we could create greater attachment to a single guild without taking away the current value of membership in multiple guilds.

I think that involves some discussion of the following.

1) What is currently a part of being in a guild that can’t be taken away, and why would it be bad to take it away?
2) Is there anything that is currently part of being in a guild that could be taken away and given to a more focused guild association? What could we do to mitigate some of the negativity of taking away current functionality? For example replace it on all guilds or enhance it for the one guild that it is tied to?
3) What kind of features are there that don’t even exist yet that would really only make sense with a more fixed association with a single guild?

A lot of good design discussions come from answering these questions anyway which I would summarize as what can/can’t we take away? What can/can’t we change? What can/can’t we add? I ask them in that order because it’s generally the order that they are easiest to implement in.

Jon

The reason that I think many people have difficulty belonging to multiple guilds is that there is great pressure to always be representing a guild at all times. Guilds want to be able to provide guild buffs for all their members all the time which requires influence which is only being generated as long as people are representing that guild. As a result, many guilds have instituted 100% rep time policies where if you stop representing them for even a few hours and an officer notices, you will be kicked from the guild.
I do not fault any guilds for these policies as it is the in game mechanics which have necessitated these sorts of practices.

It’s hard to become attached to guild other than the one you’re having to represent because for all intents and purposes you aren’t really ever in it.

It’s tempting to consider this a problem that should just be solved by the players themselves. Perhaps more guilds should just stop requiring 100% representation. However, I would like to see some statistics of guild buff uptime vs whether or not a guild has a 100% rep policy. I don’t claim to have such data, but I would surmise that of the top 10% of guilds as scored by guild buff up time, I bet something like 95% of them have 100% representation policies.

I think in order to feel more apart of multiple guilds, the notion of guild representation needs to be done away with or restructured:

  • You should generate influence for all guilds you are a member of at all times.
  • You should have chat options to be able to see the guild chat for any or all of your guilds at once. Perhaps being able type in those guilds via “/g1”, “/g2”,.. depending on what order your guilds are in in the guild panel.
  • Perhaps the one aspect of representation that should be kept is in selecting what guild tag is displayed.
  • You should be able to tell if some one else is in any one of your guilds via the color of their name tag in the world. Perhaps the for people in the guild for whom you are currently displaying a guild tag will be in the standard gold, and players in guild you are not currently displaying a tag for would have their names appear in another color (perhaps a darker gold).

Non-Content

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Shufflepants.9785

Shufflepants.9785

Thank you for reading my mind. This precisely how I have been feeling " where’s the expansion?"

Instead I get told " Living Story is " expansion-like" " Except for me it’s not. What I associate with an expansion, are New professions, new races, New skills…. then add new maps , and new quests. But all we get with living story is new maps, and new quests.

When at a dinner party, you get offered cheeze and crackers as an appetizer before dinner is served…. it is not dinner.

Anet is still serving us cheeze and crackers, where is the dinner?

Then maybe you should stop asking for a new expansion and start asking for new races, new skills, and new professions. I consider new maps and new quests to be the core of what comes with an expansion. The stuff you list as core I consider to be stuff that only comes with an expansion but is secondary to it.

When ANet says that the content they are releasing is equivalent to an expansion only spread out. They are not lying. It’s just that their definition of what constitutes an expansion obviously differs from yours. Plenty of words have more hard definitions of what they mean, but there is no universal agreed upon definition of what constitutes an expansion. You might be tempted to argue that new classes are integral to expansions. Indeed, WoW had 2 expansions that included new classes. But they also had 2 (soon to be 3) expansions that did not include any new classes. You might argue that new races are completely integral. But zero of Guild Wars 1 expansions included new playable races and only 2/5 (including the upcoming one) of WoW expansions included new races. You say you want new skills, but they have given us new skills. We’ve seen at least 2 new healing skills for each class added so far, 5 new traits for each class, and a number of “new” skills in the form of old skills being completely reworked.

Stop asking for “content”.
Stop asking for “an expansion”.

Be specific.

Complaining of this sort is like sending some one to the store to go get you “stuff” and then yelling at them when they get back about how it’s not the “stuff” you wanted because they brought back a toaster when you really wanted a humidifier. Maybe you should have told them to bring you a toaster instead of “stuff”.

Why people criticize Anet

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Shufflepants.9785

Shufflepants.9785

It seems to me that so much of the complaining about lack of content stems from a lack of understanding of the complexity and gargantuan amount of time involved in creating the content they do see.

And then there’s the complaining that stems from people not understanding that ANet tries to build at least a little bit of content for everyone and they will never start making 100% of their content to perfectly cater to just one small subset of their player base.

And then there’s the complaints about changes they would like made but will never happen because they haven’t considered or can’t understand the ramifications or technological limitations of such a change.

And then there’s the complaints that are perhaps legitimate and well formed and that ANet are probably already working or aware of but ANet isn’t going to say anything about because if they say they are working on it or aware of it, they’ll get more complaints every month forever about “why haven’t you fixed this yet? It’s been X years!”.

The answer to your question is and always has been: however long it takes you to save up the gold to buy one off of the trading post.

The best is yet to come.

So more massacres, mayhem, and destruction in your words. Why is that since the start of this Living World (although I may risk saying that there were signs of this in the vanilla game as well) the only way you guys seem to be able to drive the story forward is through mass killings and calamities (that often draw parallels with real life modern attacks on innocents)?

Remember this picture attached to the Story Journal reveal page? I can’t decide whether it’s hilarious, ridiculous, or outrageously imbecile and depressing that it’s a spot-on summary of your entire storytelling to date…

What sort of stories would you like to see?

Tell us a story, that is worth telling. Ah, and don’t hold back on new maps, like real ones, not map teasers…

Vague answer is vague.

Want me to write you a story? Hire me.
If you are good at something never do it for free.

No, they want you to tell them what would make a story “worth telling”. Basically all you told them is make it good, but you didn’t tell them what ‘good’ is to you. There are stories that you might find good that other people will hate and vice versa. What you said isn’t actionable. It’s like if you said “bring me shoes that are my favorite color” only you refused to tell them what your favorite color is.

If mail caps at 2 players, then all you need is a mailing tree.
If you need to send out 4 items, just send 2 each to 2 players, then have those 2 players each mail out 1 to 1 more person each

Bad Gold/Gem Ratio

in Black Lion Trading Co

You misunderstand the point of the gem exchange. It’s supposed to create a situation where your average player values his real life dollars the same as his gold in so far as how many gems it will get him. The price of gems in gold will only continue to increase until it reaches an equilibrium where players are buying as many gems with real money and converting it to gold as there are buying gems with gold. The ever rising price of gems in gold is the slow march towards this equilibrium.

The gold to gem conversion was never meant to be the primary way for players to obtain gem shop items.

Personally, I’ve never converted any gold to gems. Whenever I’ve wanted something in the gem shop, I’ve put down real money. I’ve also never converted any gems to gold, and I probably won’t consider putting down real money to buy gold until the rate becomes much higher, probably something like 800 gems for 1000g (which would mean it would cost like 1150g to buy 800 gems, but the equilibrium might be achieved much before it gets to those levels).

Nervous about talking in teamspeak

For TS channels with a large number of people in them like for tequatl raids, it’s actually rather important that you don’t speak very much if at all because people need to be able to hear important information from key roles and leaders. I’m 28 and I rarely ever speak up. Most of the time I have my mic just muted or not even plugged in. If there is any stigma against younger players its usually a result of the stereotype that younger players are less competent and less mature. But, if you’re reasonably competent, can follow instructions, and aren’t clogging up the channel with irrelevant non-sense, then you’ve got nothing to worry about. Well, really so long as what you say is relevant/useful information or a legitimate question about what you should be doing, you’ll have nothing to worry about except from maybe the occasional jerk. But there’s nothing you can do about that, and no one is immune from jerks no matter how old they are. Haters gonna hate.

Character Creation - new options

If Anet added all the new face and hair options to the options offered in character creation would that really effect the sales of the hair stylist kits that much? The way I see it is that it would sorta make the game feel like it’s growing in a way and give everyone access to the content while still offering players the ability to change the looks of their current characters. I know that I wouldn’t start over just to have a different hair color/style of different face.

That’s my thought. Yours?

It would make a lot of people just delete alts instead of ever buying a make-over kit. Sure most people wouldn’t delete an 80 and start over just for the hair, but a lvl 20? or even a level 50? Plus, they specifically set out with these new hair styles and faces to get people to buy gems with real money. It’s not that they don’t want you to have nice things, it’s just that kittens gotta get paid.

How bout this, you can get the new faces and colors for free with a new character, but now you have to pay 350 gems to register the name of any new character you make

How to Fix GW2 Economy [ranting a bit]

in Black Lion Trading Co

Even if you took every gold sink out of the game in addition to your proposed changes, this would lead to out of control deflation. As the money supply remains fixed and more and more items are created from the world, a single gold would be able to purchase more and more. Anyone sitting on a pile of gold when this hits would find himself soon able to buy mostly everything at vendor prices, and anyone who has all his money tied up in inventory would be up the creek without a paddle as his items become worthless. It wouldn’t fix the economy, it would kill it.

Condissions - a logical suggestion

To do the most damage today you, pour EVERYTHING you can come up with on an enemy—be it DPS and all sorts of conditions. Very few ordinary enemies are immune to certain things (i’m not talking bosses here). The only ones I can think of are Hylek that are immune to poison.

What if burning things (fire elementals) were immune to burning and bleed condition. But – it could also be more sensitive to chilling condis.
Ice things could be immune to chill and/or bleed, (for example ice elementals – immune to chill and bleed and icebrood – immune to chill). They could be more sensitive to fire though.

A rock can’t bleed for example (nor can fire or ice). It would be more fun and take more finesse if enemies behaved in a slightly more logical way when it comes to conditions. That would have to make you adapt your skills/weapons/build to a certain confrontation*.* This would do something about the mindless spamming of “Everything you have”.

IMO that would make the game more fun and challenging.

Not Everything have to be immune or hyper sensitive to something. A Krait for example could bleed, be poisoned, burn and freeze (and pretty much the rest of the condis too).

What do you think?

It’s also SUPER easy with a d/d condition thief, you run 2/0/0/6/6, pop some +40% condition duration food (only really necessary when running like 4-5 gambits), get in like 3-4 death blossoms, then drop caltrops, and then activate dagger storm and you reflect all the little guy’s projectiles back to them as you bleed the boss to death, and also use your steal when the boss is at like 1/3 health to add the poison to slow the heals.
I’ve done subject 7 with 5 gambits active like this. With no gambits, he’s dead before you even really get warmed up.

Increase vendor price for ascended rings

Shufflepants.9785

Other characters you have? – they don’t drop enough to make a huge difference.

What are you on about? Just in the last month I’ve sold off another two bank tabs of them. Most end up being Band of The Brotherhood, Ralena/Vassar’s Band, and Khilbron’s Phylactery.

I have all the gear I need for my other characters and I have no need for bad drops like those rings. For all the countless rings I’ve gotten, I’ve had to trade relics for the stats that I actually wanted. It seems the drop rate is skewed in favor of trash stat rings.

Either way, I don’t have a problem selling them but I’d like some sort of trade in or higher price per ring.

It’s not biased towards trash stat rings. I assume each stat distribution is just as likely as any other, it’s just that most people are only interested in 1 or 2 of them.

Inflation

Repeat after me:
“Inflation is a measure of overall buying power of a currency and is not measured by the cost of a single good but is measured based on an average over an entire economy including every item”.

If one item goes up in price, that doesn’t mean anything as far as inflation is concerned.
If virtually everything costs more, then you have inflation.
If you think this definition isn’t what you were talking about, then you weren’t talking about inflation, you were talking about something else.
