You mean that even lv 80 dungeon exotics are inferior to other in game exotics? They should be not…
![]()
So I just could get non dungeon exotics and thats all?
If i remember right the crafted exotics have more variety of stats. Been a while since i looked at the dungeon sets though.
Ill just note theres a thing called transmutation stones. Lets to take gear with the stats you want and merge them into a piece of gear with the looks you want. Lets you have gear you can stand to look at that also has the stats you want.
Eh im level 62 and able to make 65 weapons and armor for my guardian. I know what mobs drop the items i need and when i find them in proper level area’s i single them out till i have the mats i need to make my gear.
Do you want gw2 to handed to you loots in a silver platter? You’re like a kid whining you didnt recieve your lollipop for a house chores. Its a random luck so what if you did Dungeon for 2-3 hrs? You expect you get anything useful just because of doing that? Sell it, salvage put it in mystic forge or whatever but i dont think you should complaning. its just a RANDOM LUCK so stop whining….
“hand you loots on a silver platter” doing a dungeon for 2 hours isn’t sitting idly. what’s the point of doing dungeons if you aren’t rewarded for your efforts? a vast amount of MMO players enjoy being rewarded for their efforts, what’s so wrong with that?
Your reason for doing it is because you like to. If you dont enjoy something dont do it. Thats very simple logic. As for a reward the armor sets you can buy with the tokens are the reward in gw. Think of it as the gw1 elite armor sets.
with that reasoning, GW2 wouldn’t get many players.
Thats funny as with that reasoning gw1 had 2 mil or more players. No reason GW2 wont have simular numbers.
I’m talking mainly about "Your reason for doing it is because you like to. If you dont enjoy something dont do it. " , but you’re definitely right in the other aspect.
I was referring to that as well. Thats why gw1 did so well is because it was very much if you dont like to do it dont. Theres other things you can do that you like to. Only thing i ever seen anyone grind for that they dident enjoy was obsidian armor and that was simply because people who saw ya in it knew ya put in some serious work one way or another.

Kestrel just sounds like you been playing with bad players. I’ve never had issues holding agro in those zones and i’ve yet to die in cm story mode.
Trick to discoveries is to always use orange insignia’s.
Such a good format and time taken to do it ill just use it. This one requires a little more to get it going.
The Bare Minimum
10 Valor – Valorous Defense (5), Purity (V)
20 Honor – Vigorous Precision (5), Superior Arie (II), Selfless Daring (10), Writ of the Merciful (X)
20 Virtues – Inspired Virtues (5), Retaliatory Subconscious (IV), Virtue of Retribution (10), Absolute Resolution (IX)
What it does:
This focuses around improving the boons and defensive virtues.
In solo play, this means Virtue of Resolve and Virtue of Courage are going to be more of a passive thing instead of a something you use a lot of. Use the shouts and only the virtues if you have nothing else left.
In group play, your play will change and you will want to use Virtue of Courage on telegraphed attacks to provide aoe block. Use Virtue of Resolve if the entire group needs a quick hp boost. Otherwise once again use your shouts to negate damage and keep boons up.
This build on Champion fights works exactly like it does in group play.
From here, you can build as you like! Its always your choice. I personally went with this build.
This build focuses on aoe group regen and instant cast aegis to avoid one shot hits. With the weapon set seen here it is possible to keep at max hitpoints 75% to 85% of the time. With the greatsword your able to pull most mobs to you to somewhat control agro. For those that you can there is a quick recast teleport on the Sword and Board set as well as a channeled ranged attack that grants aegis while its channeling.
The build revolves around the following principles:
Maintaining group regen from multiple sources.
Transferring conditions from team mates.
Removing conditions from my self.
Canceling out the One Shot Kill moves with Aegis.
Mobility.
Damage Reduction.
General agro control.
Damage reflection.
Here’s how I addressed the aforementioned goals:
(Maintaining group regen from multiple sources) – Symbol of Wrath, Hold the Line, Virtue of Resolve
(Transferring conditions from team mates) – Save Yourselves
(Removing conditions from my self) – Purity, Virtue of Resolve
(Canceling out the One Shot Kill moves with Aegis) – Virtue of Courage, Retreat, Shelter, Zealot’s Defense
(Mobility) – Retreat, Save Yourselves, Flashing Blade
(Damage Reduction) – Shield of Judgement, Hold the Line, Virtue of Courage
(General agro control) – Binding Blade
(Damage reflection) – Symbol of Wrath, Retaliatory Subconscious, Virtue of Retribution
While this build may not do tons of damage its got staying power. Not only for its self but for its allies as well. Hope you all like it.
Sadly im stuck at the moment. Realized i the whole reason i was having issues was i was trying to do a story quest 7 levels higher than me lol. Wondered why i was being pushed back. But if i manage to finish before anyone updates this ill post. Currently got 20 levels to go.
aww im busted=( Hehe nah but serious im kinda damaged by other pvp games. This is abit new to me and theres good answers in this post. Havent seen it from this point of view before and ill give it a try. Think i actually gonna enjoy it.
And sorry of my english fails abit, not my native language.
Ill just say gw1 pvp was better in my mind than gw2 pvp. But there bother better than any other gear based pvp out there. This comes from someone who sucks at pvp btw.
My wishes with ya and hope ya learned from what ya did to get banned. See ya in game. :P
Basically my guess is they have one ban system in place. It pribally has a drop down selector on it to set time from forever to minites. Or thats my guess anyways. Much easier to program one system with multiple options than it is to program multiple systems.
Rightclick on the .exe set it to run as admin. SHould fix this for you.
The fact it says your banned x hours leads me to beleave its a perma ban on timer. Much easier to have one ban system with a drop down for selecting how long imo.
Yes the loot isnt good, yes the rapairment is expensive thought i really dont see why to complain when at the end you get a minimal of 20 silvers which is surely more than the money you have spent repairing during the dungeon and second i really think Story mode is there really only for the story to understand it and have a bit of fun, after that explorable is where you get the loot, not from the drops thought, drops may still be not up your standarts thought the points that you get from compliting the dungeon and doing them again and again in their diffrent methods you will eventualy get enough points to go in Lion’s Arch and buy you gear from there.. it is a grind but atleast you know you will get it after time so yes to get your gear from a dungeon is a big grind and i think if its that annoying you, there are many other ways to get your gear.. events and karma vendors in Orr, WvW, Crafting…
Sadly these bad players are spending half a gold in repairs because they cant realize there not ready for these zones. So while they may make 20 silver at the end there spending twice that sadly.
Because the dungeons are ridiculously hard and the horrible loot at the end will guarantee even more people ignore them than are now, to the point where nobody will want to waste the time running dungeons? What kind of dumb comment is that?
There’s a thing called risk vs reward, look it up.
Good. If people who find the dungeons too hard stop doing them, they’ll stop clogging up the forums with their childish whining.
The reward for clearing a dungeon, is the act of getting it done. Of completing something difficult. The loot is just an extra bonus, not the main incentive.
ps: The “risk” of a dungeon drops significantly when you learn to play better. The game’s been out, what, two weeks? In two months people will consider AC boring, because it will be so easy. They’ll know the pulls, the fights, the traps. More importantly, they’ll know how to combo, how to group buff, and how do dodge.
Don’t pull the “I’m more hardcore than you” act, believe me, you won’t win. I’ve had no life since I was 13 years old. My accomplishments in MMOs would make you wither away and realize what a little man you are. Just don’t even waste the time going there.
The reward of clearing a dungeon is not “getting it done” especially when you spend more money repairing armor than you do from the dungeon(because unlike you, I play dungeons by sight and don’t look up guides for fights), especially if no useable gear drops(for anyone). Thinking like that is just asinine. If you want the “I beat it for a reward”, go play Dark Souls(which I’m better at than you, too), this is an MMO, and gear is an integral part of it. And in 2 months, nobody will be running AC. There will be no point, because the gear drops are garbage, and everyone will be using the better methods of attaining better gear.
Besides just making yourself look like a complete and utter moron quite frankly the gear drops are not usable. Craft or buy exotic its better than that gear with a wider variety of stats. As for your gear is an integral part of it comment. Your so wrong its sad. Gear does not really mean anything in this game except to slightly enhance you. The real integral and meaningful part of this game is your own skill level which from hearing you boast i dont think you have any. Your whole im leet look at me attitude can take a hike. Frankly your an utter disappointment to the skilled players of the MMO community and should just leave now while you have some form of dignity left.

What do you need gear for? There’s no gear grind, no higher level of dungeons. You’re not on a treadmill.
Play the content because you enjoy playing the content, not because you need some digital lollipop at the end of it to make you feel good.
Because the dungeons are ridiculously hard and the horrible loot at the end will guarantee even more people ignore them than are now, to the point where nobody will want to waste the time running dungeons? What kind of dumb comment is that?

Theres also a thing called theres no reason to even give you loot as you can just craft exotic which is the best gear in the game.
Your first problem was trying to keep everyone alive with heals. Everyone in the group needs to utilize their conditions and CC as well as dodging and self healing at the right times. People also need to get people up when they are downed. Don’t just tell them to run back.
I see your point and understand what you are getting at, but I was trying to make out my point that the group was taking so much damage (no tanking, no certainty of being the target, therefore making dodging a little more tricky, etc) that werent it for my supporting healing and slowing down and immobilising of mobs the fight could have probably been even shorter than it was in some cases.
Furthermore the level of coordination required surpasses the ability of a general PUG. It might be possible in a group of guildies with TS or a group of already experienced players but not in a group of randomers that have entered the dungeon for the first time. I do like the thought of story/explorable modes but maybe they should introduce a mode that is doable also by the general PUG, yet keep the options to make it more challenging
One thing i do when going into a instance is talk with all my team mates. I find out what there specced to do. Once we do this we come up with a strat to handle different mobs and desinate one person to call targets. Normally in mine thats me since i fill more of a tanky/support type role and keep the mobs locked down as best i can. This makes it a lot easier for even a new zone with a pug as were not guessing what each other is built for.
The problem i run into is that people dont watch there own back and as such end up getting the whole party wiped not realizing the part they play actually is vital to the group surviving. My favorite is warriors and guards standing at ranged doing nothing while mobs are encased in bad stuff with people downed and not reviving them. Or just standing in the bad stuff and getting them self’s killed. followed by mob wiping rest of the party. Then complain about how they have repair bills. I’ve ran cm and ac. I’ve ran Multiple times and never died more than 3 times.
Or just friend both communities. I do beleave you can cross server party and play the same content. Or did they remove that feature?
Just a quick comment about “no cast bars” on the enemies. Enemies do telegraph their attacks, you just have to pay attention and it takes some practice to recognize it. Guild Wars is a lot more actiony than your typical WoW-like.
I’m finding the combos fun and effective. If you can learn to recognize certain field types you can choose your attacks to get an extra bonus, like leaping through a fire field to get a fire shield.
There’s really a lot more to the combat than it seems at first glance.
Ill add on the telegraphs. With melee the raise there weapon high then normally start to glow yellow to gold. They might look like there smoking as well. If you see this dodge back or to the side. Or in my case of being an aegis machine pop that and you ignore the attack most of the time. Stupid adds…..
There is infact tons of endgame if you actually take off those very narrow glasses… Endgame does not mean wheres my shiny loot. Hit h go down 5 tabs to achievements and pick a spot to start. Those of you who rushed by the content to 80 to complain really need to learn that due to the way GW/ANET approaches endgame you infact have WAY more content. You just refuse to see it as theres no shiny piece of gear with uber stats.
I know what is there, and those achievements are not fun like the WoW achievements are. Not to mention GW2 entire achievement system is invalidated by the fact that achievement points can be earned by dailies and monthlies. Which means that in GW2, someone who only did dailies for a long time could have more achievement points then someone who actually did all the actual achievements. Achievement point gain should never be repeatable, it wrecks the system.
My glasses are not narrow, I am not talking only about loot, but I know when there is no real character prorgression to be bad, and here there is not.
There is NOT in anyway more content in GW2 then there currently is in WoW. Sorry but there is not. That was just anets marketing. Endgame does not start at level 1. As for me rushing.. really? Just wait two weeks, you will see loads of people at 80.
And your here playing GW2 why? WoW and the panda’s want you back bad!!!
Both your posts in this thread are littered with misinformation at best. I find it offensive you wanna even call WoW fun. Hows that make you feel? Hopefully much like i felt reading your posts.
KTHNXBYBY!
Epic Reeddog. I was trying to be slightly nicer in how i said that but spot on correct.

Endgame by definition is the content that is available to you at max level and still viable. So since infact level 1 area’s are viable to you it infact does start at level 1. There is way more content by this definition. In wow you cant go back and do old content without just totally facerolling it meaning it is not viable. In gw2 all content is viable at max level. That in its own right is true endgame content. As for the achievements you are looking at it totally wrong. Total points dont mean anything other than what you could have given to your guild. The true achievement comes from what % of it have you completed. The total points really is just for guild status. You infact do have a very very very narrow view of things. More so than i had even though.
Theres a trade post. Use it. I know i Know its down and all that stuff. It wont always be. It is there for the exact reason you are wanting cod. You list something it sell you get money. What do ya know.
Like you i have seen some of them in game. My guess is the cultural armor changes looks depending on your class. But havent tested that out.
Its in the HOM for those with 30 points.
For me as a guard blocking is not channeled. Its a skill called aegis. I have many different instant cast sources for it. Some dont last but seconds others can last for half a minite or in the case of my Virtue of Courage every 40 seconds (Can be lowered to 30) i Get an unlimited duration aegis. (Till its used up obviously.)
Shields have a skill that reduces damage by 33%. They also increase defence. Both of which means you take less damage and feel more tanky.
Edit: Atleast on guardians.

For crafting i use youtube. Enigmius1 puts out a great guide that covers the basic’s. As for other stuff deified put it best. Ask the player base. Yes you will have troll’s but theres also a lot of helpful people.
Current Build: http://www.guildhead.com/skill-calc#Mccz0oMMMaGvoMaGvm9MafGoMms
Aiming For: http://www.guildhead.com/skill-calc#Mccz0oMMMaGvomCFvm9MGxGVoMabms
Support/Healer: http://www.guildhead.com/skill-calc#MccV0mzMoCFvomCFvm9MGxGzVMabos
Now those are just some fun builds for me. They dont have best damage but they are fairly hard to kill and make it so much easier in events. Currently though im only level 58.
I play a guardian. I currently fill a tank/support role in how i play. As for this melee bs. As a guardian if i time everything correctly i rarely have to move due to constant hp regen and almost unlimited aegus (Block’s) which lets me flat ignore those one hit wonders. If you want to focus more into a support role there are a few different options. You could go staff for pure healer delight. If you want more support but still want ranged switch to scepter/focus for healing or scepter/shield for more defensive abilities. If melee is your thing theres mace/focus for the melee range aoe healing or mace/shield for a more healer/tank set. If you like tanking i would point you to sword/board for the channeled blockskill aoe arrow protection and fast recharging teleport. In tank role i also use a greatsword as it has decent aoe retaliation which reflects damage and a aoe bind that lets you pull targets it hits to you. Great for grouping up mobs. This is only some of what a guardian can do. And if it interests you but you need some help getting going. Add me ingame an ill see if i cant help ya some or message me here on the boards.
PC/Laptop: Desktop PC
CPU: AMD 970BE
GPU: Nvidia GTS450
RAM: 8GB (1600)
FPS: 45-60 (Have it locked to not go over 60 as theres no point. Saves on power and doesent have my gpu running full burn 24/7.)
yeah thats what I did, now ill do it again just to make 100% sure but I am certain that I have all the POIs in the overworld
Did you double check the wvw maps as well?
I have confirmed that leveling up in an area you’re scaled down to will reduce your effective “main” stats due to having a more severe % scale-down. This probably means that if you’re not keeping up in equipment, you’re going to be weaker even when you’re doing lower-level areas.
This does not take into consideration stuff like trait points and buffs from any new skills. I also did not do any calculations or tests on the secondary stats like health or condition damage.
Damage seems to be fairly on par from my guardian viewpoint. Maybe a little more. But hitpoints is another matter. In 25th level content i was around 3100 to 3200 hp. When i go back to it now it puts me at 24 and im around 2800 hitpoints. So a major difference there of 300 to 400 hp. Might not seem huge but at that level its pritty major. This is comeing from someone who’s in 3 stat gear.
My personal exp is that at my level of 56, or maybe its 57 or 58 now, I have more difficulty with lower level stuff than i do things at my own level. For things to be hard for me i tend to have to be looking in the 63 to 65 level range before i have issues. Might just be the fact im a guard or something to do with how i build my traits/skills and gear. I dont know but when i drop to say level 25 to 30 content i find it to be a much better fight due to how it scales me down.
For the market i would say gears where it will stay due to the small improvement between the different rarities. (Which is a good thing.) Crafting mats will come down in price is my guess due to the fact crafters will stop buying them as theres no profit. Only thing you will see improve in sale value is the gear that looks cool for the appearance value in it. Or atleast thats what im expecting/hoping.
I know little about what the endgame content contains. I know there’s dungeons and PvP and such. But I’m not really in a hurry to get there – I have 2 chars which are in their low 20s. I must have re-rolled the elementalist maybe 8 times.
Just as long as the end game somehow makes me feel that what I’m doing is helping my character to get “better” in some way then I’m fine with it. Gear, ability points, spells, etc. I like doing things with a bigger objective in mind – not to just do it for he sake of doing it.
Endgame in gw2 is open your achievements and start filling them out. Theres a ton of them. Literally years worth of stuff i would say. But the people whining here want gear progression which gw2 doesent have to offer. The best gear in the game at max level is less than 25% better than the worse gear. (Talking about fine gear to exotic gear as i have yet to see legendary gear.) On average it was about 20% to 23% better. In the mmo world thats maybe one tear to the next. With a lot of top tear armor being more than literally double as in 100% better. And normally even more than that.
I am bored.
It hit level 80 since one week.
I am full equipped in exotic orange armor.
I have 15g on my bank
I have 200k Karma
I did all dungeons.Region of Orr endgame zone is too small! 100 players are standing day for day at the same spot grinding the same event every 15 minutes – there is nothing else to do.
Doing Dungeons in explorer mode is just UNREWARDING. You get only crap blue/yellow loot, nothing good to be happy about. I mean seriously, do I have to farm 200 tokens to buy one good item which is not any better than my crafted exotics? I fought mykitten off in a dungeon, fought over 1 hour a boss, wiped 10 times, had repair costs over 40s and do get crap yellow/blue items as a reward for it? Yes that is the reality, and it did not happen just once.
Explorer mode in dungeons is fun, they are challenging here and then, but for what? Why all of this if there is no reward?
Endgame in GW2 is plain boring. However PvP can be at certain times good.
Your looking for carrot on the stick gear progression. This game does not have it. Maybe you should rethink why your playing games because if its only for the loot you really missed the whole reason you should be playing. As for the Explorer mode dungeons its reward is the appearance armor, and the fact you completed the area. If you dont care about eather move on. That zone is not for you.
My goal is to beat all the explorables without a single death. Once thats done ill aim for beating them all without anyone in my party dieing. Thats me personally though. Thats my current end game.
Lol, that’ll keep you busy for a while! I want to complete all explorable paths, get all dungeon armour sets and get a set of legendaries.
And thats the point of setting your own endgame goals! Its ment to keep you busy. And should you become bored at any time you could always just ya know go do something else for a while like grind out those armor sets and legendaries.
Is it an exploit or intended that the Stonemist Keep Lord can be attacked from below with AoE?
Posted by: SiNoS.2147
From what i’m hearing and my personal experience with simular stuff. Its pribally an exploit. Then again ele has almost nothing but aoe if there using staff.
The pve system is amazing all the way up to 80. The point is, after 80 and you’ve completed all the zones and dungeons..there is nothing to do. There is one level 80 instance(legit). LOL
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Dungeon
Honor of the Waves Explorable – Level 80
Crucible of Eternity Explorable – Level 80
Arah Explorable – Level 80
Each with multiple paths.
But there going to cry because theres no epic loots in it. My goal is to beat all the explorables without a single death. Once thats done ill aim for beating them all without anyone in my party dieing. Thats me personally though. Thats my current end game.
I don’t understand why so many people playing this game are so quick to go after those of us who want to participate in end game PvE dungeons. Its an almost integral part of the MMO experience. As someone who wants to do both PVP and PVE this game is severely lacking in the latter area.
Integral part?! Maybe by your definition, OTOH I was on the side ones who made alts (where thats was remotely fun and sadly that is very low number of MMOs) — grinding same instance 100+ times to get gear to start grinding another one and another and another and another … is definitely not even remotely near my idea of fun.
As someone already said — GW2 is not raid/gear treadmill and it (should, knocks on the wood) never be.
Agreed. Sadly these WoW end game nuts have failed hard to grasp what true end game is. You shouldent do end game expecting some uber item reward. The reward should be the fact you did the content. If you cant enjoy that content then it isent for you. And if there isent anything you can enjoy in the game then to be honest and blunt maybe you should move on to something that has what you want.
So is this a MMO? Since when did MMO start having less end game content? You know Everquest 1 is coming out with its 19th expansion. Content. Thats what drives people.
This game actually has more content than most. Till your 100% on all achievements you havent done everything this game has to offer.
unlike other MMOs, if you’re hoping for more PvE in a PvP game…. sorry, this is not the game you’re looking for.
This game is about fighting each other, it’s not about finding moose poop in a dungeon.
I’m sure they’ll add stuff down the road for your carebearkitten but it’s less than a month old, you’re elite (haha) for leveling so fast, and momma didn’t leave enough pizza money on the counter. Yeah, I’m talking down to you.
It’s a fighting game, and the pot 0’ gold for dungeon humping isn’t here… seriously… you need to find a new game.
Actually theres more pve than there is pvp… Just saying.
Then what is the point of having gear in this game unless its just for cosmetics? Are we getting better gear to complete the current content or we getting it look good for our characters?
Its cosmetic for the most part. While yes you do need some slight stats to be honest its not the end of the world. You could litterally go put on white armor and do just fine in an area if you set your self up to use it. Thats the point though. When you take gear out of the picture you can enjoy a lot more of a game. It gets rid of that very narrow view you all seem to have as to what end game is. Take off your blackout shades and actually take a look at the world around you. You will find theres more to do than you give credit to.

The reason most of it requires said gear is because if said gear wasent there most wouldent touch it because very very few people actually enjoy raiding and such. If you take said gear away and cant find a reason to do the content your doing it wrong. The gear should only be a perk not the sole reason your doing it. To many people now day’s fail to realize that though.
Hum well in game it says the choice is perma. But wiki says the exact opposite. Might submit a support ticket to find out for sure unless a dev wouldent mind posting here.
