Frankitteno kick someone i feel it should take all the players. I also feel that on a boss one cant be kicked or while anyone is in the cutscreen.
I can see it as an exploit due to the fact every so often they are supposed to teleport to each other. I have a feeling the door stops this. Which would in my eyes be an exploit. i personally feel that the mob should rest if this is done as you pulled one out of the room.
I didn’t mention any difficulty anywhere, 1 reply saying pugs and another saying it. I said Fun, big difference.
And the dungeons are fun for the crowd they were/are intended for. Most of the “Feedback” You see complaining about difficulty is infact by puggers which the dungeons were not designed for. You said they should listen to feed back. Well issue with that is the feedback is not by the intended crowd. Now those complaining about bugs. Thats completely different.
Ermm there not fun for me, I’m sure they were intended for me too.
If there not fun for you. Move on then. Point of the game is to not do what you dont find fun. Content you dont find fun in the end is not ment for you.
Edit: Also since my clicking seems to be ahead of my typing. What would make it fun for you. And if you tell me look at the feedback frankittenhat would put you into what i view as the pugger or give it all to me now crowd.
Look at all the feedback, you seem quite active around here pretty sure you have the time
Seriously though 1 of the things i hate is trash with to much hp it makes me feel like I’m throwing sponges at them instead of deadly attacks it don’t make it any harder it just makes it more drawn out thus equaling less fun.
While i do agree the trash mobs get a bit um I guess old. What else are you going to do. In most cases your not ment to feel like a super human and be able to solo threw the trash on your own with a blindfold and your hands tied behind your back. Your ment to be mortal. Kinda the point of the dungeons. Now something i do wish they would do is just make all mobs mini bosses that way it feel more like im fighting other beings instead of mindless forum troll’s. Yes i went there as trash mobs for the most part kinda feel like it. But the trash is ment to be the time sink given so far a decent party can blow threw any boss i have seen in just a minite or two tops.
Also i seen what ya did there.
Problem is the feed back is by puggers in general. These dungeons were not made with puggers in mind.
The problem is puggers were advertised that they could do these dungeons and that their own made up class role would matter. they entered their first dungeon and realized that the only things that matter were stability, blind, dodge, and kiting skills. All those other roles and abilities out made little to no difference in how the enemy could be controlled.
The other problem is that the enemies are programmed to act jsut like they do in the world PvE, but were given stats that require “holy trinity” style gameplay to control them.
As a support engineer my job is to shoot and throw down regen and buffs. I have a decent amount of HP and toughness. Problems arise once a mob decides to aggro me. What can I do? well, I can’t do my job of buffing and healing my team. Now I have to spend the next 1 – 5 minutes kiting and self healing. If I mess up (by running out of space to move or not timing my cooldowns) then I will die in literally 3 hits. In a situation like that a tank is needed to pull aggro. Why? Because there is no way in hell I can solo kill this enemy nor can I take his damage while supporting my team.
Other problems come into play like spell effects not being clear. Especially for melee character who are in the thick of multiple layers of spells and effects. The stability stacking on bosses that is not clearly defined. No one has time to hover their mouse over a boss name to read the stability stack buff during combat. There’s also the problem of having absolutely no explanation about aggro in this game. Very few people know that toughness stat increases monster aggro chance. Then there’s the length of the dungeons and their reward systems.
There are a ton of problems that make these dungeons very unfriendly for average players.
Please link where it was said puggers could do the dungeons? It was always stated that dungeons were not for puggers.

They can do better.
These dungeons are designed under the pretense that difficulty is what makes things fun and interesting. This is a mistake. Boss fights, map layouts, and monster encounters that are fun and interesting make dungeons fun and interesting. And when you finally throw in difficulty to make it feel like you’ve accomplished something by completing the dungeon, it becomes perfect.
It’s fine if you enjoy dungeons as they currently are, but Arena Net can do better. They’ve made an amazing game so far. The dungeons can be a lot more interesting.
I agree they can improve them. But till they remove the current bugs we dont even know how the dungeons are. Till those are fixed we cant give proper feedback on how to improve them. Some of the bosses are wonderful. Simple but yet wonderful. For example first boss in ac em. The guy that does the harpoon/spin. That fight keeps me on my toes with dodging and jumping and running all over the place as the boss does the same stuff to us. Feel kinda like fighting another player. But thats me personally. Fights like the ghost eater for example where its just burn burn burn. Oh look add’s, skill 5 gs to bring then im aoe down rince repeat is a bit old and cant help but feel maybe somethings broke as you never use the ‘traps’.
Currently My best gear is Soldier (Power/Toughness/Vitality) Armor, and Weapons. Cleric (Power/Toughness/Healing Power) Jewelery. Also going to buy the Soldier back from guild armorer.
It amazes me how closed minded people are.
It wouldn’t feel right in GW2? Would the saddle cause you chafing?
Honestly, you guild wars folks are an odd bunch.Mounts would simply be another feature that many folks who’ve played other mmo’s for years would enjoy in this game. Let’s not even speak of the moronic price tag on Waypoints for just getting around in this world.
Choice is good, and the option to obtain and ride a mount instead of running endlessly from place to place would be a welcome addition.
And we all know Anet could create some amazing looking mounts.
And this is where your mistaken. This is NOT other MMO’s this is GW. Mounts make 0 sense in this game and infact would ruin the design of the game.
I didn’t mention any difficulty anywhere, 1 reply saying pugs and another saying it. I said Fun, big difference.

I just wish they made a dunguen that is not for the casual gamer. A dunguen that is Mission kitten impossible. That way, the casual gamers can keep theire story modes, and the “few” rest of us, can get a real challange.
Crafting end-game.Legendary = you all know how much time that takes.
PvE end-game today =Explorer mode. Which is easy for alot of people.
is it realy that hard to understand? If you have a level 80 character, you have more than enough time to play this game.
Realy, is it so difficult to understand that we want a dunguen you simply cannot complete? unless you spend houres and weeks prepearing tacs. we play this game to get new experiance, and to get challanged do we not?.
I realy wish they made a Hardcore dunguen on steroids, where the normal story mode is the same challange that Explorer mode is today., and that the Explorer of this dunguen was hardcore mode was on steroides. That way it is acctully a prestige to complete it Explorer mode… Most players out there will not complete everything in this game. Thats how simple it is. While others want more challange right away. Challanges that not everyone will be able to complete.
Actually you play the game to have fun. If you dont enjoy a part of the game dont play it simple as that. As for the dungeons they are made for your average group of COMPETENT players. Notice i said competent. This meaning decent players using good communication that are use to playing with each other and work well together. Currently i do the EM’s with Pugs. Granted before we do any area thats kinda harsh we take the time to explain the fight and figure out what we need to do that fight to make it as easy as possible. Most zones i dont see more than a death or two. This is doing it with pug’s.
these dunguens are hard for 5 randoms that dont know tactis.
How ever, 5 people that know how to play MMORG can develop tactics during boss fights and just wipe clean every dunguen atm. Where is the challange I remain to ask?
I agree. The dungeons as they set i do pug currently. Although before we get started we establish tactic’s and make sure everyone will listen as we go threw the zone. Of the ones i have tried i have never taken more than 8 deaths. And that was on just a stupid group that wouldent revive downed players. Not dead players downed.
Ya no the armor will have two level sets. One is the unique armor the other is just for stats. The weapons are all unique looking gear.
I find a bit strange an exotic + full sigil set (6 sigils exotic) lv80 weapon+armor is lower than a 35 gold one (lv35 gold armor/weapons? where?), playing together on the same dungeon. A bit senseless….don’t you agree?
Over all, dungeons are made on player’s skills, not math, or will be an other MMO gear based.
Said this, there is not reason to play explorer when 35, except if you want to test your personal skills as player, with lower dmg than others. This doesn’t means he can have fun to join groups. Not a pug, be sure.. Who is gonna invite a lv35 even on AC exp lol.
Its not odd. It actually makes sense. You have more trait’s and easier stat builds with 3 stat gear. So how do you counter this when scaleing down? You hit the stats them selfs. If you equalize the stats so that the traits balance you out the defining thing that sets you apart is skill. Thats why an unskilled 80 will get face rolled yet a skilled 35 might never take a death. Infact i have been in an all 80 group that couldent complete the zone and in other groups where besides me everyone was 33-40 and no one took a single death. Sure we had downs but we managed to get them back up before they died. That level 80 group i took 8 deaths. The most i have ever taken in a dungeon. And sad thing is there were 3 guys with over 30 deaths that zone. Only me and the ele that group got out of there with under 10 deaths.
Edit: As for damage honestly its not that different. I ran with a 37 guard using a simular hybrid build like mine. His damage was 100 a shot where mine was 110 or so.
Yaaa. All the weapons are now level 80 exotics if im not mistaken. They just have different stat’s.
OP, I think you need to specify how you want the dervish to come back. Warrior / ranger / guardian with a greatsword all get the Dervish’s signature AoE melee attack, anyone who’s human gets two of the signature Avatar forms, and Guardian’s got enchantments on himself that he can tear down for gains in the form of Virtues.
When everything that made the dervish special mechanically can be emulated by playing a Human Guardian with a Greatsword, what are you suggesting to make the new Guild Wars 2 dervish unique?
The main thing i think that makes people think guardians are nothing like a dervish is the hp. But then again if you bumped guardian to warrior tier of hp and gave them scythe and cloth looking armor you would have the dervish. And they wouldent need the gods as they would be gods them selfs. And me playing a guardian as my main would laugh hysterically till they nerfed the snot outa us. At which point i would cry hysterically begging them to take us to how we are now.
Problem is the feed back is by puggers in general. These dungeons were not made with puggers in mind.
Also just incase you try to say equal level gear comparison isent fair green 35 has a weapon power of 380. But that isent a proper compairison given you need to do it scaled by gear level granted there is no level 35 exotic from what i have seen.
I actually use rares. As for weapon damage a level 35 rare weapon has a weapon damage of 412. You cant judge the stats given only place you see the stat build is in total stats on a level 80. My weapon power when scaled down to 35 is infact only 382. So infact my level 80 rare weapon is weaker than if i was using a level 35. We can assume that if the weapon power is weaker then the rest of the stats on my gear is also weaker. Given its devided between 3 stats instead of 2 this makes total scence. As i’ve said from testing i have found i am actually weaker when scaled down to make up for more traits and 3 stat gear. Over all yes i am slightly stronger. But only slightly.
EDIT: As for my rune’s. They are the level 60 runes. But thats kinda pointless at this point as the 6 piece set does not work on my rune set and i know for a fact that the rune is scaled down as well otherwise from just the rune i would be around 5k hp.
(edited by SiNoS.2147)
I agree. Should be able to craft every type. I’ve yet to see some jewelery combo’s i’ve seen on armor. Drops should be for look’s not for stat combo’s.
If weapons were indeed able to be customised, I think cultural and legendary weapons wouldn’t be able to be dyed.
I’d say that Legendary weapons should be dyable. After all the work required to obtain one, why should we be limited to one that looks exactly the same as every other legendary of that type.
Agreed. The only part that shouldent be able to be dyed is the special effect like the greatswords blades.
Have you even looked at your stats? They do get scaled down. Thats why as a level 80 guard i go in to AC EM with Power: 455, Precision: 279, Toughness: 462, Vitality: 474, Attack: 837, Condition Damage: 0, Crit Chance: 8%, Armor: 839, Health: 5035. My level 80 Stats are Power: 1627, Precision: 999, Toughness: 1654, Vitality: 1695, Attack: 2602, Condition Damage: 0, Crit Chance: 8%, Armor: 2725, Health: 18595. So yes infact your gear and stats gets scaled down.
No doubt he can be a talented player. It’s his trait tree, weapons and armors who are heavily lower than the rest of his team. Basically he helps and survive, yes. But his contribution is 5%. While others are doing 100 dmg, he’s doing 2 dmg (example).
Its not that drastic. All your gear is scaled down an in my experience is actually worse. Yes your traits will help a little but in general the difference i have seen is less than 5-10%. In terms of a skilled player thats minimal. And if they listen more than makes up for it.
Character appearance change is coming. Race change will most likely never show up given it would reset a lot more than just your race.
What will it reset exactly? Sorry for the idiotic question, but I’m only level 50, and haven’t really been paying attention to what’s what, I’ve just been running around and enjoying this wonderful game
Personal story, NPC Reactions, Personal story loot. Diety/background, Skill’s and elites. Theres a ton of things that are based around your race.
Edit: I also forgot the big one. It would reset your order you join.
@Lucas
Just because hes 35 doesent mean hes useless baggage. More times than not i get more help out of 35’s-40’s in ac than i do 75-80’s because the 35’s actually listen and work as a team to get threw the dungeon than try to just zerg rukitten thinking there level and gear will carry them.
Character appearance change is coming. Race change will most likely never show up given it would reset a lot more than just your race.
I Really hope they add this feature, Please AN Even though someone already got my name I don’t care I am treated as a dyslexic because of my user name! lmao!. I would gladly pay to change my name, Like previously stated in the rush to get my name secured I goofed my name up too.
Ya more than a few people like you all out there i have a feeling. I happened to be a old GW1 player so my names were reserved for me so no need for me to hurry on launch day. Was able to take my time.
If you like the look spend them. I personally would save it for 80 as you will level so fast its about pointless to spend it.
Are you sure there the exact same? When i check out the dungeon venders they have different stats from each other.
Doesent really mesh with past classes in any way shape or form. Next professions we will see will pribally be the dervish, or the ritualist.
While capes will be a must i wouldent mind seeing cloaks that cover the whole body till you start fighting. Would be sooooo cool to see a cloaked thief then going into a leaping death blossom with the cloak just whirling around them.
Race change wont happen most likely due to it changes a ton of stuff about your character other than appearance. The hair and other cosmetic only things most likely will make it.
Most likely as it was in the cash shop for GW1.
Really a toss up. I tend to kill faster personally with Trident. You just have to combo your skills to do spike spams. Also doing aoe burst kills helps.
Guardian plays no way like dervish.
Everybody thinks Guardian is like some huge tanked dude with tons of buffs that never dies.
Guardian’s only buffs are the virtues, really. And then, they suck.
Guardian is moreso Paragon, with the Shouts as buffs to allies.
Have you even played a guardian? Playing one as my main and having played dervish back in GW1 the two play very very simular.
In terms of the playstyle offered, Guardian essentially took the place of the Dervish, while the Engineer took the place of the Ritualist. Different aesthetics, sure, but they play similarly.
Mesmer also plays kinda simular to rit with its illusion’s.
hmm are there no rune of the monk outside of the mists? cant find them on the ah. guess you have to go with thrumbi’s set for wvwvw.
AC Dungeon set i beleave.
Edit: Yes you can buy them off the AC vender. 10 tokens for minor, 30 for major, 120 for superior.
(edited by SiNoS.2147)
I think we’ll see Dervish as a returning class in the expansion that takes places in Elona
Same with rit in cantha.
I report them then return to sender.
Its already in game. Just give guardian’s a scythe and you basically have dervish.
Backstab is a skill that doesn’t get used often, if ever. The point of it is to do lots of damage ONLY from Stealth AND by hitting in the back. You can’t whine about that whilst you get that 2-2.5k ALL THE TIME.
Clearly he can and is. I agree with you though. Kinda pointless to complain about a skill that isent able to be used all that often except by players that will mess you up 9/10 times you face them without it.
Alot of the cosmetic cash shop stuff has been said to be coming. It just wasent ready for launch.
Edit: As well as guild hall’s.
For crafting guides there actually a good video guide series done by Enigmius1 on youtube. Worth a check.
In other words hes crying because ANet wont make the game exactly how he thinks it should be. ANet is sticking to there guns instead of turning this game into a clone of every other game out there. Every game that has tried to do as he wants has also crashed and burned. If there seeing login’s going down its because MoP just launched. Nothing surprising there.
The main problem right now is PUG’gers dont understand or refuse to listen to the fact ANet has stated that dungeons are not for them.
tell me, why would i even bother to want to help anyone who is low level in low level region with the current waypoint fees? how waypoint fees arent scaled but loot and level are scaled down? why punishing loyal and long lasting players with such stupid inventions? the waypoint fees must be either changed drasticaly or removed. or res shrines for dying or free resurection should be allowed. there are lost of other possible money sinks. i dont care if armor skins become 20x more expensive as gold sink. players will eventually buy them. same effect. but the social effect on making players count and calculate how much gold they will lose for helping their friends and guildies is anti social, or just mean lack of Empathy from the designers who decided on such punishing sanction.
in GW waypoints/shrines were free. the most expensive exotic armor, the Obsidian + chaos gloves were so expensive that they only were the biggest gold sink the game had. and that was an enviroment that did not have anti gold selling system or TP.in the current situation WP fees are Income Tax. No one likes Income Tax. we pay it for our time in real life. we do not need this in MMO’s. and definitely not in Guild Wars.
Think of the cost being there for how powerful of an artifact you wear being transmitted threw the waypoint system. Level 1 gear and characters are not going to be anywhere near as bad as powerful exotic level 80 gear on a magical transport system. As for your gear complaints i help out in level 1-15 zones all the time. i end up with way more level 75-80 gear than i do 1-15 gear. Not to mention all those events i run across give me about the same rewards as doing level 80 events.
@EISdE
I’ve tried the dolyk runes over in PvP. Granted PvP is housed on a different server than the PvE so it might be different for PvE but the regen ability on the Dolyk did not seem to be working at all. Otherwise i had thought to try them out in PvE for more regen ability.
It takes a good long while to get what you would need for the hom. As for the quest you need. What game are you in?
They said dungeons aren’t for everyone, but it wouldn’t hurt them and us to help less experienced gamers learn the mechanics necessary to be successful in said dungeons.
I don’t think the vast majority wants to waltz in and do nothing and still get things. I’m sure everyone’s doing their best, but the best of a person who is not naturally gifted or practiced in video games is not the same as the best of a person who jumps from new title to new title.
Dungeons need to either come in a variety of difficulties to help players transition into the more challenging—and, hopefully, more rewarding—dungeons, or the game needs to do a better job of providing challenges throughout the leveling process that encourage players to experiment with their other skills.
It might sound stupid for some of you, but this is because you lack empathy. Not everything can be solved by you telling others, “L2P.” It’s funny the first few times, sure, but it just makes you a kitten after a while. Don’t be that guy.
The best thing you can do is ask the group who has done this zone. Those that have know the tricks and if there like me will walk you threw the zone step by step. I never take more than 3-4 deaths, and normally its 0-2, in a zone for three reasons. 1: I listen to the people who have done the zone before and do as they ask. 2: I revive downed players, not dead but downed. 3: I know when something is beyond this groups skill level. If it is i simply leave the zone letting them know that with this current group its not possible and not worth the repairs. A big part of this game is realizing that you have to know when your over your head. To many players now days rather graveyard zerg mobs that are to much for them and end up paying 30-40 silver in repairs out of there pocket. I’ve yet to ever lose coin in a dungeon nor will i ever because of that one simple fact.
Edit: Oh and to date i’ve only had to leave a group 2 times out of more than 50 dungeon runs.
(edited by SiNoS.2147)
Personally i say bring back the GW1 weapon dye ability. No reason i can change my armor on the fly but cant make my weapon match.
