Only area that seems to have less players is WvW … probably people playing PvE content first, …. maybe the new maps… who knows… but once scribes reached max levels…. people will be wanting to use those things and population might be restored.
Most WvW guilds left ages ago simply because it wasn’t being supported. Some came back with the expansion hoping it would reinvigorate the gamemode but most have found it did nothing.

Forum bug squash.
Colin I believe gave the numbers of guilds completing GHs, if every guild that did it had the max 250 players, that would give us somewhere around 1.4m people buying the expansion. Our guild of 20+ did it, so take that as that absolute top figure (most guilds are not 250).
Although of those 20 I’m someone who also doesn’t have the expansion. I’d say Expansion numbers are sitting below 1m. Also saw a nice little reminder to buy the expansion popped up in the daily spot yesterday.

I’ll pick up the expansion before LS3 starts, that way I won’t need to pay for it later down the line.
If DX12 isn’t going to help this game what is? Honestly.
The fact this game doesn’t look like Crysis yet takes more resources than anything I’ve come across is mind-boggling.
After this thread: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/ranger/This-are-ranger-pets-PETS-TEST-2/first#post5688723 I’d avoid letting my pet be the bulk of any damage I did.
I wouldn’t equate time spent to value.
I wouldn’t trade The Witcher 3’s 200 hours for 20,000 hours of GW2.
another thing worth mentioning that no one seemed to talk about yet is living story. season 3 and most likely season 4 will be out before the next expansion they’ll require HoT to play (not sure about unlock) If they dont unlock without HoT thats like 40 euro worth of content right there you’d get for free. Beyond that without season 3 and season 4 it would be 2 years or more you’d need to wait without any new content before the next expansion.
Disclaimer timelines are my own estimate obviously. next expansion might come out quicker or slower then 2 years as well as we may get more or less living world seasons in between.
Which looks likely to be next year going by the rate in which they’re fixing their expansion.
By that time it should of hit the £15 I’ve been waiting for, currently under £20.
There is nothing broken in PVE , just because you don’t like certain changes does not mean it’s broken.
What changes wouldn’t I like?
Not broken? Have a wonder through there:
Coalescence of Ruin, now that hurts. 11k.

Will give it a go, thanks.
Well, for 3 years Signet of the Wild has had a different shaped icon to the rest. (circle, the rest are in boxes.)
5k, Someone somewhere in Anet headquarters are rubbing their hands with glee.
I’ve already submitted a bug report, but seeing as this has nothing to do with Raids or HoT I’ll take my chances with the community instead.
Yesterday our group were finishing up on the dungeon master achievements and after having run the path above, we still didn’t get notification or reward for doing so.
I take it this is bugged, so is there currently any work arounds?
I said it a while ago, November was not a good month for having unhappy (gaming) customers.
Huge titles out and it will get to the point where the complains stop and so do the logins…
Fortunately, despite many other games coming out, ppl still complain on the forums instead of playing them. Considering that, HoT was a success
We are complaining now for one month, straight.
Yeah, huge success… Let’s see how this plays out then.

we had our elite spec stalled to the end due to reworks, only had one beta weekend to test and we’re being pushed from pillar to post every patch. That is going to be infuriating to the ranger/druid community.
Ah, I remember when the responses to only getting one BWE was “Oh they must be really sure it’s in a good place and must only need a tweak or two…”
Nope, don’t preorder games. I enjoy having consumer power.
I think your best bet is to set a valuation of the content and purchase it when it hits that valuation (This is what I’m doing).
Black friday week, lots of sites and places will have discounts, so you may find it hits that valuation quicker than you think.
The expansion has been £25 from day one, now sits at £20 at many places (or your regional equivalent).
Should of voted with your wallet before the expansion, I don’t believe for one second I’m the only one who thought let me wait and see preorders are absolutely horrendous…
These folks doing raid simply taking up slots that are highly needed for doing t4 in VB. A lot of AFK or people just simply stand there and staring at the post right below being overtaken. T4 night time in VB are now much more difficult to get because of these raiders. If fractals are located in LA, why not raid too.
Yet another post that shows the gaming community in GW2 often puts more thought into the design than the development studio. I would suggest moving it to the Silverwaste instead of Lions Arch
So they can fill the map and fail those events too?
All of those are tweaks. Nothing listed is even remotely a rework, just shifts in numbers or adding/removing an element onto the current version and not altering functionality.
Multiple tweaks has a way of creating substantial unbalance.
tweak? how about a 400% increased cooldown tweek….
… tweak my kitten
Really 400%?
I didn’t realize they increased CAF CD to 50seconds.
I think this was sarcasm referring to the 400% Lingering Light nerf…
First I would like to start out by saying ANET did a wonderful job. I love that there exists something in this game that is hard now. It also is not too hard for 10 people who are all doing their best.
That brings me to my second point. Ignore the tears ANET for once. If players want easy face roll content tell them no. Make sure they understand this raid is not that. If they want to beat it they need to try harder and quit complaining. Thanks
Wasn’t this what people doing high level fractals said, how did that work out?
I’m pretty sure the people running high level fractals were fine with the difficulty?
Then they canned them.
Anyone who preorders runs the risk of not being happy with the product.
If only we all just stopped doing it ay?
but this is 3 weeks after launch…so it has nothing to do with pre-order
Personally I’m a wait and see kind of guy. Haven’t bought the expansion, haven’t bought Fallout 4. Heard / seen numerous problems with both. I’m glad I’ve waited and when I decide the time is right, I’ll avoid a lot of those issues.
But I do take on board your point that at some point, particularly when it comes to a genre like MMOs, things can change a long way down the line.
Watched some of the best guilds in the game leave with the caveat that they’d come back and see what the expansion brings.
It brought one map. Extremely lackluster imo, during “burnout” we were running 20+ people we can’t get 10 after an expansion.

Only about 670 people watched the Raid guild chat, when it moved to PvP about 200+ left.
Less people around? probably related to the 4 big games that came out last week + raids.
We’ll be back to normal eventually.I doubt it, it was dying before those games were released, the only way to save this sinking ship now is to nerf it into pew pew so that people return to the maps to finish their achieves and gear grinds.
Funnily enough when people were asking for nerfs after the first couple of days I said Anet would have to, not because people couldn’t do it now, but when there is no one around to do it, people can’t do it alone.
Unfortunately no one took me seriously, how dare I suggest the maps ever get less populated…
But what about all those metacritic 10s…
…oh.
So here we are with the 48hr hotfix joke again…
…it’s rather unfortunate it’s not a joke.
Runs being done with Druid and without, so I guess whatever you want.

Love some of the comments blaming the user for his broken product.
It was done in the first two days (not including DnT), pugs and those using very little communication are finishing or coming extremely close too.
Also, Wildstar were trying for the whole ‘hardcore’ level of difficulty look how many people stuck around for that…
Yeah, I would be very surprised if the only thing that would count vs the raid bosses are maxed out dps. And I would be very disappointed if that was the case.
Well, if it goes back to DPS only the developers should consider that a failure. Raiding was supposed to bring into play a supporting role with healing in mind. If it turns out this isn’t the case one would have to ask why have a Druid at all.
Well there is your first no Druid run https://youtu.be/QDqsoMFUFU0
To be fair they still used quite a bit of healing. Nothing says you have to bring a druid, you just have to bring heals.
That is actually a very true, and interesting point. But wasn’t that the Druid’s claim to fame? Personally I would have thought Druid or Guardian since they both seem to play off the heal or group support. Guardian has been around a while, Druid just out.
Maybe it will change as people progress through the content and Druid or more specific healing duties will present itself.
think of it this way , what other class can bring as many heals as us without Giving up important traits for support traits and doing so means changing the entire damage trait line of said class + the changing of 1-3 Utilities or using the mechanics Differently to provide said heals .
E.g Boon shatter mesmer no a Reliable source of healing and shattering at wrong times to heal can cause those shatters to damage plus or Trigger unwanted boss mechanics by using said shatter at the wrong time.
druids have much more Vast control of when they heal and how they heal or even the locations they can heal , not restricted to being forced to stay in range or a certain radius (e.g glyphs is the only issue) but atleast we have many more options to heal without limiting our builds to set weapons/traits/Utilities .
straight up just by taking druid and staff we heal better and more effectively by Default healing power or not.
Give it time, raids just came out the other day and we’ve already seen clears without a Druid, let people work it out and I’m sure we will see a few more interesting (non-Druid) runs. This is going exactly how I thought it would.
Honestly at this point it looks like it really doesnt matter what gear we use, it all comes down to individual skill among all 10 and how they synergize their skills. If ur everyone is dodging/avoiding blue and orange circles with right gear, ur job as a druid is a breeze. I have no exp with bosses after vale tho, i just hope i didnt waste all that gold into zealots for nothing
Pretty much this, we’ve seen groups do it without a druid now, it all comes down to skill at the end of the day. Give it a couple of weeks and we will probably see more people opt for more DPS over a druid.
The video I posted literally directly above you doesn’t have a druid.
I also watched Brazil finish the first boss (tuned it right as he got it). His group used 9 DPS and 1 druid that was both healer and tank. I’m not sure how much that was needed though since everytime the party took damage the leader called for a stack and waterfield.
Haha! I hadn’t even got through the whole thread yet, some of the first posts caught my eye. Thought we’d see this to be honest. Been working like this in WvW for the last 3 years.

Done, without Druid. https://youtu.be/QDqsoMFUFU0
Completed: https://youtu.be/elV5EiNU4dM
If you want to know your damage, just look at your chat log and calculate it yourself. There’s timestamps and/or you can use a stopwatch and time it yourself in realtime. But that’s my opinion.
Isn’t this just doing the footwork for you? I see nothing wrong with it at all.
“Druid or kick.”
NO! Please no! Immersion is gone maybe for you. But for me not. Seeing you running around in Spock Costume will hurt my immersion. So no.
Seeing half the people walking around in huge and terrible looking wings already destroyed any possibility of immersion. At this point they can add anything.
As long as it’s a backpiece.
uh no
the box price was the game when first launched.
So HoT compared to base GW2 is very lacking then? Given the price point in particular.
no, GW2’s box price was quoted as “beign worth 2-3x times the price”
that doesn’t mean the expansion will.
HoT is easily worth $60.
plus, how often do you go back through the lv 1-70 content?
HoT has a harder job of making it all lv 80.
Well now I’m understanding everything you said, it feels as if this is just a case of personal value. You feel HoT is worth it’s release price and I do not, which is perfectly fine.

Can we getta optional monthly sub, for increased drop rates and rewards? Like $15-20 a month? I know i’d pay for it, but we’d need a “better than prior to the xpac” system in place, to make it worth it.
Right now, the paywalls are insane. Many other F2P MMOs (lets stop kidding ourselves, this game IS F2P), are offering similar services, as to promote a stable, monthly income for itself, while rewarding customers with a better experience.
Since the content has extremely high replay value, i think this is a very solid next step for Arena Net? Can i get some support on this idea???
I baought this game because it said, no subscription fee.
It said a lot of things.
i smell a kitten person who is also spoiled after the 3 years of FREE CONTENT UPDATES.
how much would ANY OTHER GAME have charged u for all those FREE content updates?
like $300?
and now the first paid expansion comes and u CRY?!
spoiled, buthurt. should i add more to that?
What free content upgrades? If you log into the game now, it’s literally exactly the same as it was at release in terms of content. Actually I guess it’s less because dungeons and fractals are now pointless.
And clearly it hasn’t been free. They are making money off of selling gems. Enough to make it as good or better than a subscription would have been.
Not to mention, what does previous free content have to do with the expansion? The expansion is terrible. It takes away and adds nothing. Perhaps you see the expansion as some sort of bill they are sending you for the last 3 years you played?
oh?
so halloween, winter’s day
dry top
silverwastes
the new stronghold mode
the guild hallsthe new WvW maps
the changes to lion’s arch
the changes to world bossesthe ENTIRTY of Living world season 1.
and living world season 2(if u were on when it was going on. it was free)the land with the karka
the new path in Twilight arborfractals(all fractals. NONE WERE IN GAME AT LAUNCH)
the adventurebox
SO MUCH NEW STUFF. SO MUCH CHANGED STUFF. AND ON TOP OF THAT THEY BALANCING CLASSES SO OFTEN.
so the same as launch? HA
Well I’d say that’s what you get with the box price, great value.
Now should I expect the same level of addition with the expansion or just Living Story?
If it’s the latter, it pales in comparison doesn’t…. it?
(Had to add dots due to the fact it thinks I want to put slang for breast, seriously?!)
Hell no!
Abso-kittening-lutely not!
You want a subscription? Shuffle your desired amount into gems each month, and then convert them to gold.
Unfortunately if players decide they want to do this, they will end up running havoc on the economy.
I can’t believe ANet made us pay for an expansion. I mean who does that? No one makes people pay for expansions, what makes Anet think they’re so special that they think we should have to pay for an expansion.
Although I can hear the sarcasm in your strawman, they did paint themselves into a corner with their Living Story content which was free, it does take the shine of an expansion, especially one that looks like a few months of Living Story packaged up and sold to us, whilst taking things we already paid for in the base game and putting them behind HoT paywalls.
