Do what I do and get two sets. One support (healing guardian), one damage (greatsword guardian). When you want to farm loot bags switch out your gear and then switch them back when you want to support (taking camps etc). You don’t have to respec but if you have to its only 3s I believe.

Could VS actually take this matchup on the last day? Getting pretty excited.

Maloki don’t try and make us look bad by leaving FSP. We did everything we could to help FSP after the first set of guilds vanished. Everyone at VcY still has alot if respect for FSp and its community and we are more interested in your match up than ours.

in terms of efficiency
every guardian will feel efficient in an zerg, or an small group,
His utility’s just shine over there, wall of reflection , staff 3 /4/5 , 2 buuble’s , retreat are increbile skills on assault’s / hold the line on defensive, stand your ground for toe to toe.
on the other side, thief is a lone wolf, can take supply camps , hunt yaks with an lower risk but in an zerg vs zerg his efficiency is low compared to an guardian.
he can be tactic and only scout the map for his ally’s but group utility’s are limited.

I get most of my kills on my thief in Zerg v Zerg. Reason being is you will find a lot of low hp targets to burst down for easy kills. This also helps your force because if you down a player and finish then that’s one less person to worry about and if you don’t finish them chances are 2 or more people will go over to res. people ressing won’t hurt your Zerg and thus allow you to charge forward. You can get straight into the heart of a Zerg, kill, and get out.

I have both a guardian and thief at 80.

If I want fun I log on my thief and run around killing people, especially low level people, and get a lot of badges. If I want to play more support then I log on my guardian and either hold the front line or charge in to break up opposition zergs. You can set both professions up to be support or offensive. Guardians don’t all have to be bunker build guardians and thiefs don’t all need to be backstab build. It all depends on what profession mechanic you like better and what suits you.

Awsome! Thanks for the post and suggestion. I am curious though, you say if you want fun you log on your thief, does that mean the guardian isn’t fun and you log on it more to help out the team rather than you yourself enjoying it? That is kind of what I fear from the Guardian, that sure, I can support my team and they will love me for it, but I will never be able to actually get my own kills or be sufficient on my own.

I understand what you are saying, that you can build your character up a certain way. It just seems that even if I went all out offense on a Guardian, you wouldn’t be able to get the kills / do as well solo as a thief since thieves are so slippery and yea, stealth is so much fun lol. I do love the plate however, and the 2 hand weapons are a blast. Ahh, tough decision it is!

Well my guardian only has toughness gear on it at the moment so I can’t kill much unless I’m left completely alone with a guy for a few minutes. I am working on getting dps gear (guardian just turned 80). Whereas my thief has 3 different sets (played since launch). I will add that I do play as a burst spec guardian in sPvP and it is fun and if your good enough you can kill people easily.

Since my guardian turned 80 I am enjoying it more than my thief and overtime might be my main.

People on FSP need to accept the fact that this is a PvX server. If an event comes up you better believe almost everyone is going to take part. No excuses just facts.

I don’t think FSP was complaining about Kodash night capping it was more, here we go again. We are working on building a night crew and it is starting to show. Either way this has been the best match up I have been in, credit to both Kodash and AR.

Bloodwyn has been staying up through the night and i have running with him of late. There was another commander in EB who I cant remember the name of and DW have been upgrading structures. We need more people though as our night crew can only fill 2 maps. Yesterday Bloodwyn jumped between 3 maps taking stuff back. Must be tiring for him so we need more peeps.

OK to set the record straight RUIN is not going anywhere. Most of us have been running non stop for the last 3 weeks putting in 12-18 hour days. The majority decided to take the weekend off and relax.
There was no discussion about moving servers, RUIN is staying on Desolation.

Who have you been fighting in those 12-18 hours? The only real challenge was the first week you got into T1. Before that you had no opposition.
VS have been putting in alot of hours to stay in T1 almost since launch yet they continue to fight week in week out. Man up.

We didn’t take part as we didn’t see how we would win or be able to do anything against your night crew. It also came at a point where we were tired of losing out to VS over and over. The funny thing is you come over here and run your mouth and when you actually have competition you ‘want to try other things’. What happened to this epic fight that you said you will give BT? It’s also funny how you mention the one time you beat us out of how many match ups?

First, why are you even posting in this thread? it has absolutely nothing to do with you, considering you are not on any of the servers involved.

Second, you obviously know nothing about Ruin, and how its members play, because if you did, you would know that a lot of the Ruin members have been playing through Desolations off peak hours, staying on and playing through Desolations worst time period in the mornings, and staying on into the afternoon, then logging off for a couple of hours sleep, then doing it all over again.

Now, in case you still dont get it, I will make it real simple for you.

A lot of Ruins members have logged on at around 6pm GMT, played through the night, still been in WvW playing at 7am GMT the next morning, logging off around 1pm GMT that afternoon to get some sleep, then logging back in around 6pm GMT the same evening to do it all over again, and they have done that for two weeks, so yes, some people are taking a break.

But feel free to carry on talking crap about Ruin, it just makes us laugh.

Ruin, so good at what we do, even servers we are not currently matched against have nothing better to do than talk crap about us.

T3 and T2 you had no opposition so i doubt you put 12-18hrs in. T1 against the french ye sure i can see you doing 12-18hrs, but that was one week. The week after, from my understanding, the french had a mini break which ment it would have been easier for you to spread your coverage. If you were still putting in 12-18 hrs to beat the french while they were on a ‘break’ then your not as good as you make yourself s out to be. Also you guys more then anyone wanted BT in T1, now that they are here you take a break…..

Desolation had a good reputation and was respected in the EU bracket. Servers were still cheering for Deso even when they were falling (like FSP are now). You guys come along and have destroyed that. Saying you carried a server etc. Thanks to you its going to take along time for Deso to get back to where it was and that’s the real shame.

Oh and you or anyone else cant tell me where i can and cannot post.

Losing the Russians was a blow for us but we have shown we can still compete. Losing them ment losing some of our daytime coverage which is our new weakness as well as no night crew.

This server still performs well at prime time and continues to pull in solid points. We are reorganizing and that is showing. We still need more guilds or people to fill our maps and replace what we lost. It wasn’t just the Russians that left.

Not complaining about night capping, kinda used to it on FSP lol. It’s a shame the server goes to sleep so early, doesn’t help we lost a few guilds also.

If your referring to the golems on FSP borderlands there were 20 golems and 1 omega golem. Problem was we had very little pugs following us to take out cannons and keep you of the walls. Spent a lot of time building those golems :p It was a bit of fun but annoying seeing all the gold and effort wiped out because people would not listen. We learn and we’ll be back better prepared xD

So let me get this straight. Ruin came, they saw and they left?

What happened to looking for a challenge? Weren’t they the ones praising BT and saying ‘cant wait to fight you in T1’. They ruined the reputation of Deso and made the EU guilds that defended them look like fools.

I think everyone looking at this match knew Blacktide was going to win. Deso don’t have any guilds that can compete with the guilds BT have acquired. VS don’t have the coverage either.

Doing the events in any of the starting zones have similar events as Queensdale. You can also go through the Haunted Doors that open after you finish the events in Queensdale, etc. and go the Labyrinth (go through the portal once you reach the Mad Realm) and there are events pretty common there.

Can you give me an example of an event, I want to make sure I’m doing the correct ones and not events part of the zone. Thanks.

Not sure if its a theme we set but noticed a lot of thieves in our groups.

I have been using that wiki page but I can’t get information on it. I have done the events in queen sale but have not got any progress for the achievement.

This is my take on the situation on Far Shiverpeaks.

FS was the number one EU server and number two overall server for a very long time. This status gave us a huge pug following. The pugs would in a way take care of our morning/afternoon and in the evening the guilds would get in. This gave us a very strong day time force which allowed us to compete and stay in T1 for as long as we did. I’m not saying that the pugs were the ones in control, we had guilds in WvW during those times as well to coordinate the pugs. But they made up a good portion of the force 60/40. During the evening it was reversed, as the pugs faded out of WvW the guilds got in. This remained the case up until we got matched with Ruin (I’m saying Ruin because I don’t think this would have happened if they had stayed in NA).

Dropping down into T2 was no shame for us. We were still the number one EU server, and people were confident we would beat Kodash and especially Deso. Then Ruin came along and these pugs we held onto for so long abandoned the server to go to Deso as it was clear they would be the new number one EU server and maybe number one overall.

There are almost instant pops into any WvW map right now no matter what time. This has helped our guilds get in earlier but we no longer have the numbers we once had. Our guilds as good as they are can’t keep going all day, we need breaks.

We went from having one of the best day time force of any server in the EU bracket to not being able to field enough people for all 4 maps. Don’t get me wrong we still have a good prime time force.

I hope the guilds on FS stay as I think we have a good server alliance. We just need to work on getting other guilds in FS.

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone knows what events I have to do to complete the 3rd achievement in the Halloween achievement section. This is the achievement with 5 tiers.

I have done almost every mini game but nothing has counted towards it. Anyone able to point me in the right direction.

I would like to defend our commanders. Sometimes they do things that make you think ‘wtf is he doing’ but you have to realise being a commander is not easy. We have a lot of commanders on FS and they need to be supported. Our guild leader is one and we all support him by being his eyes and ears. For the most part our commanders are good.

I’m saving up for commander myself.

P.s. can ER be a bit less organised and can thUn and CIR not be on the same BL as us xD

We had 10 guys running around the garrison and we did not see any golems. The group that made it in to the garrison just ‘appeared’. When we wiped them we ran all over the garrison looking for a Mesmer and checking all the gates and walls and yet they got back in. It seemed fishy to us.

Assuming we’re talking about the same attack, you can’t have been looking very hard. We ported an Omega golem and three Alpha golems to the southwest gate, and then ported them to the inner gate when the outer gate went down. We also never actually got wiped. After the golems went down we ran around the walls destroying all the siege and then after waiting several minutes we ran back around and continued taking down the inner gate. We had plenty of mesmers (including myself) to portal people back in when the outer gate was repaired.

Golems seem to be affected by culling by the way. We had a lot of players in that attack (combined forces of DkR, CIR, ThUn and HRSY), so it’s possible you couldn’t see the golems due to that. You still should’ve seen the outer gate go down (twice) though.

T’was one of the best attacks I’ve had the pleasure of being a part of.

I think we are talking bout two seperate fights xD.

Also as far as I know there is no alliance with ER. In fact we thought on FSBL. you two were teaming up on us lol.

Amazing encounters today on FS BL at Sunnyhill. You guys destroyed 3 of my trebs and my golem that i was in. VcY were determined to put up a good fight and show what FS can do even if its the last day.

I have to ask this but can people get inside Sunnyhill through the back? I saw a few IRON guys trying (including a commander). Another thing, there was a mesmer in our tower when the wall went down under the keep lord. Was he bugged or exploiting? We couldnt hit him, Decadencia from Golden Horde.

We were looking for one or two guilds to compete with VS and the upcoming AS with the french canadian guild they have. Not looking for 5 or 6 to completely dominate them.

Plus I have seen Ruin in action and I am not that impressed,all they seem to have going for them is numbers. They drop really fast because alot of those numbers are sub 80s. Also I gave credit to the EU guilds for improving since last time, but it seems to me only IRON are any good. Whenever they are on a BL that we are trying to take back we have some really good fights. The other BL without them we start taking things back, noticed the same from kodash.

So maby T1 might be interesting. If the french can build a defence during the night they can repel the sub 80 from Ruin, and during the day compete on maps iRON are not on.

There will be no competition for Ruin and if they actually did som research they would have known that. CaSu was created to troll FS when we complained about French Canadians on VS.

EU Deso might get competition. I’m hearing some EU guilds on these DE, FR servers looking for new homes on NA servers. Infact there is a thread on GW2 guru about a German guild looking for a NA home, more might follow or keep transferring to lower tier servers in EU to get fair matches.

Well I would disagree, the thing is we always do well on Saturday because people don’t need to do anything on Sundays. Sundays we do well for 3/4 of the day but because people have stuff to do on Mondays we have a huge drop off thereafter. There have been many a time when we would have the lead against VS over the weekend and then lose during the matchup during the week. This isn’t because we used everything to early but because its the weekend, people have more time.

I’m also not saying we sucked during the week, it’s just we could not keep the performance going all day because people need to get up the next day. Our day time forces kept us competing in T1 till we eventually fell.
