No teaching, its like a sprint to the finish.
I play a rev and I could care less about how long a fractal takes. I just want everyone to be included and feel like they matter. So I hang back, guide new players, or run back, speed boost the stragglers and then go in as a group.I just don’t feel that this old community realizes how many new players have been brought in with HoT.

If you are not willing to put in the time and effort necessary to clear a raid, don’t raid. (doesn’t that sound familiar?)
Except this isn’t time and effort spend actually doing the raid, but preparing to do the raid. It’s grinding to get to the fun stuff.
Getting leyline gliding doesn’t make you more worthy for raids, it doesn’t necessarily will make you better at raiding, it’s just another hoop to jump through in order to do the 3rd raid wing.
Obviously, it doesn’t mean it’s the end of the world, and with the way with stray (possibly) leyline energy going about being absorbed by people and animals, I’m sure it’s more thematic and mechanic.
Just shouldn’t become a “feature” that should be praised.
It’s not a grind not anymore since the changes to HoT maps. People have had months to get this and if you have not don’t blame Anet. They said from the start some mastery abilities will be needed for raids so anyone interested in it would have done the farm. Raids were not released at the launch of HoT you know, people had time to get enough masteries and master points for the first wing and you know what no one complained.
Yet again casuals want everything handed to them on a plate. Work for something in this game.

Generate means brand new. If you sell something to another player then no new gold is generated. It’s only transferred from one player to another (and some gold is lost due to the taxes).

If AB gold is only being transferred and some is being lost with each transfer then it’s not flooding the game and causing inflation.

So what are you suggesting here? Rename red/green/blue to personal story factions? Condense all the player population to three servers? That’s EotM already.
EotM is an overflow system and that I don’t want but yes just have 3 sides instead of 10+ servers and linking servers with servers that others don’t want to be linked with.

Ye I am in no way trying to turn WvW to PvE. I chose these 3 orders because it is the only thing in this game that I could find to replace the 3 server system and having it as simple as BluevGreenvRed is boring. Hopefully the 3 orders would replace the server identity that will be replaced by this format. Plus it gives some lore background to ‘WvW’ which I saw a thread on here for. The pact having been destroyed by Mordremoth have gone back to their orders and practicing for the next fight and getting stronger through Order Battles. Anyway enough about PvE lol.
Maps would probably see queues up in the hundreds though would it be difficult to add a 5th map? 3 Apline, 1 Desert and EB?
As for the time split, I am not sure what you mean by that. Anet are working on a new scoring systems that they think will reduce night capping and we will have to see how that works out. I also don’t mean having EU merged with NA. Leave the two regions as they are.

Um… No. As I said, many people who do not do PvE do raids because of the challenge. And Raids are niche section of PvE that are significantly more challenging (for some impossible) than the rest of PvE. That is why many of those people don’t play PvE because it offers no challenge.
So to assume that just because raids fall into the official PvE category, doesn’t mean that it appeals to just the PvE set.
In fact, I know many PvE only people in my mid sized guild that want nothing to do with raids because of the difficulty level. They don’t view raids as PvE content no matter if that is where it is officially placed by ANet or not.

i just said i wasn’t going to do it because i don’t enjoy that aspect of the game, and i thanked Gaile for informing me ahead of time that it was going to be an integral aspect of the upcoming raid wing. it let me cross something off my “things i don’t give two flying flips about” list. like sPvP. that can also go take a flying leap. it’s not an aspect of the game that i enjoy. dabble in occasionally, yes. bother myself to grind through it for the reward? no. to me, not worth it.

Order Battle
The three server systems is no longer working as WvW population is decreasing and people are now stacking on certain servers making the matter even worse. Servers in general also don’t have a place in the game apart from WvW. In PvE mega servers have taken over and in PvP server doesn’t matter either. Removing servers I believe is the only way to solve this problem and replacing it with a different system. So I present Order Battles. Choose to represent either the Vigil, The Durmond Priory or the Order of Whispers. Reason I chose these is its better than just RedvBluevGreen and seeing as there are three orders and WvW is a three server format it makes sense. Also it gives the orders a purpose in the game instead of just a one story step before merging into the Pact. You can also work in some order specific rewards and possible new maps but that is for another time.
How will this work? Well Just like Guild Wars: Factions that had Alliance Battles give players the opportunity to represent an order to fight for OB (Order chosen through the story won’t have any influence on OB selection). The reason I say players instead of guilds is it can get complicated due to how many guilds you can represent. Players who want to switch orders will have to go through the same process as server transfer. One week lockout period and gold fee, thus removing server transfer and incorporating it into Order transfer.
Having only three sides to pick from should condense the player base and maybe slightly improving population. This will of course heavily depend on who the big guilds or communities will represent, they could all choose to stack on Vigil. This for me shouldn’t be a problem. Players/guilds that still care about winning can stack on one Order if they want to as this will give the players/ guilds that only want to fight an endless amount of enemies if they choose to spread out on the other two orders.
As a final note I am not saying remove servers from the game as that could take a long time and WvW needs immediate help. Also what do you think of this system? Bad or good and what would you change. For me fixing population is more important than the PPT system at the moment. As mentioned above the players who care for PPT can stack on one order and the ones who don’t can farm them on the other two.

There’s nothing to debate until you realize that nomads is basically training wheels for people with no skill. Even in WvW where damage absorption & mitigation is important people consider nomads to be a crutch for scrubs.
If you want your special snowflake builds to work then by all means try it with a group of like minded people, don’t come in complaining about the way raids are because they don’t suit your needs. What next, people complaining that they can’t do raids with their face on the keyboard and no hands?
Also you’ve said multiple times you can could would should be able to do / clear the raids but you obviously haven’t. In fact looking at your post history it shows you’ve been complaining about “zerker meta” for a year now and even though the meta shifted in raids to (Condi DPS/Raw DPS/Healer/Tank) you still grip onto the whole idea that the game is against you when in fact it is you who cannot and will not adapt to anything.

Or at least the match-up teams all have same maps and no one knows what map they are getting each week but the 3 teams in a match are all the same.
The problem is this.
Anet have said that everytime they bring in a new map to WvW the match up resets. So you have reset on Friday and then another reset on Tuesday when the maps are introduced. The only solution is moving reset to Tuesday which nobody wants.
That’s not a problem if you do reset on Friday Nights new maps in at the time of reset. That’s not hard.

I have to totally agree with you on this one, It’s weird, and to be honest I have no idea why it happens, but this kind of content really seems to bring out the worst among people as opposed to the best in them, and all it ends up doing is divide up the community, as opposed to bring people together.
Because everyone that can’t do the content comes out complaining and wanting easier content which then brings out the other side saying it’s not hard find a guild or friends.
Many of the people, myself included, that haven’t been able to get into it, or haven’t been able to do it, aren’t asking to make it easier. (We are asking for people to be a bit less kittenhole-ish) You say it’s not hard to find a guild or make friends, and that may be true for you; however, it’s not for all people. The point you missed is that even the people that aren’t whining “make it easier” are getting the flack too. We still get people being kittens, and accuse us of being lazy, etc etc. Thus, the don’t generalize and don’t judge. It wasn’t necessarily directly explicitly “at” you. I use “you” in a general sense a lot, and I probably should qualify it.
And bullkitten, guild members don’t behave that way. I agree, if they do, you may be in the wrong guild. Or maybe, it’s the kitten content that’s trying to be done. And players do ask questions, here and in game, and do you know what people tell them? Go wiki it. Go youtube it. Go research it. There is a reason people stop bothering after a while. Its the exact same kitten we saw in dungeons and in fractals.
Sorry, but to use youtube, the wiki, doing “research” on google, look for guides is what you have to do. You won’t get everything from the silver plate. Same thing like in real life. If you have a guild it can help in every aspect of the game. There is so much information out there, we are playing an online game so the rest of the big internet is just some klicks away. Why can’t people explore for themselves or just use simple guides which explain very much faster and better how to get certain things done?
And do you know how hard and often frustrating it is to teach decent or bad players some of the content like fractals and dungeons? I am helping in my guild in about 25% of my playtime. It’s a thing I like to do but some of those days I am in a bad mood because players cannot listen and react to the simplest things.Who said anything about asking for anything on a silver kittening platter?

Why can’t people be bothered to help with something as simple as a question in a game that’s supposedly supposed to be “mulitplayer” with a great community? The problem arises when you have 100+ people in a map and people start being kittens to the question asker and spend as much time harassing the person for asking the question as it would have taken to explain the kitten answer. Or, its a simple question, and ppl kitten “wiki it” and could have given the person the answer they sought in the same amount of time it took them to stick that in there.
I think we sort of got off the specific line of thought pertaining to raids here though. New / first time raiders are going to have questions, especially once they get into the instance. Regardless of watching vids, or reading guides, etc. I would think it would be expected. Yes, those players should not be trying to join “exp only” teams in the LFG tool (which is another topic altogether), but in a ‘normal’ group, I would think that questions would be reasonable. Again, just like dungeons.
Yes, it would be nice if the /wiki command was more common knowledge, but that still isn’t the be all, end all solution.

The GW2 community can be toxic but I have never seen a person that asks a question getting flamed for doing so. At most people will say “wiki it” or just ignore the question.
As far as asking for help in raids.
If you are new to raids and join a ‘exp’ LFG post then expect to get treated harshly. If you are really interested in getting into raids then the best place is to find a guild. If your time is limited due to real life then reading a guide is the only way to get the knowledge you need. Either way you can still join a guild.
I have said this before LFG groups do not represent the raiding community and people that come on here complaining about said community are doing so because of the treatment they get from these LFGs. Guilds do not behave the same.

I have to totally agree with you on this one, It’s weird, and to be honest I have no idea why it happens, but this kind of content really seems to bring out the worst among people as opposed to the best in them, and all it ends up doing is divide up the community, as opposed to bring people together.
Because everyone that can’t do the content comes out complaining and wanting easier content which then brings out the other side saying it’s not hard find a guild or friends.

Map completion is still character bound.
There a various ways to get to the new zones. Playing through the story is one, there is an entrance in the SW corner in Silverwaste and finally exiting your guild hall via the exit portal.
Also never heard anyone called their characters ‘jobs’ haha.

They need to just stick with alpine until they figure out how to cycle the maps on a 1 or 2 week rotation.
How would it create an unbalanced match? When we had three DBL you would see servers that had good coverage losing because no one was leading on a DBL and all commanders were in EB. This can’t happen for 3 months when DBL gets rotated back in.

For now at least. If the DBL is reintroduced with the same problems as before you will have 3 months of the previous 6 months, dead WvW. My proposal is similar if I read what you wrote correctly and I based of EotM.
WvW is a 24/7 event. My proposal is to make it 21/7. To achieve this WvW will be split in to three time slots. These are European times but you can split this the same for NA.
Round 1 – 10am till 5pm
Round 2 – 6pm till 1am (reset night 7pm till 1am for British summer time)
Round 3 – 2am till 9am
Three 7hr rounds with an hour in between. During the seven hours everything will remain the same in WvW (ppt and ppk) and the server the with the most points at the end of the round wins that round. You get an hours break before the next round where again it’s the same. Server with the most points through ppt wins the round. In total 21 rounds and 21 points up for grabs.
The goal of this is for servers who felt they had a better morning/noon coverage or prime time coverage to not feel all the work they had done during those times to lead in ppt to be wasted coz their opponents just night capped them to death. If they can’t field a night crew then at least they can compete for one of the other rounds, winning those rounds and forcing the night cap server to actually field players during other rounds to actually win.
This may even help WvW players and commanders in not getting burned out. There are some commanders and players that do 24hr shifts, or close to it, just to win or get second place for their server. With three rounds you can spread your commanders out and with an hours break you can organise for the next round or heck even get a quick nap.
The tech for this is already in place with EotM happening every 3 hours. It’s just implementing the new round scoring system that I guess will take time.
Thought I would add the rounds per day as well. Plus an hour during summertime.

I wish healing scaled better on guards. We have plenty of ways to sustain ourselves through traits that heal but they heal next to nothing. If you go down the healing stat then you sacrifice damage for minimal gains.

Why on earth is the idea that you grab 9 other new players and try and learn the raid together such a mind blowing concept? Absolutely no-one is stopping you from doing this. Why are you expecting 9 seasoned players to give you a free ride just because they are experienced? They had to work hard to do it to begin with.
The ONLY limitation of a raid is that you need the expansion, absolutely nothing else is stopping you.

What I will say is Guardains have a lot of useless traits and utility skills. I am hoping whenever this new elite spec is released that it is the most overpowered elite spec ever.
Ps. Have they nerfed any of the other elite spec weapons? I pretty much only play guard so excuse my ignorance but if we are the only class to have our elite spec weapon nerfed then wow.

In your initial post you complain about having a certain amount of LI or achievement points and even titles, then you complain about having a schedule and now you complain about gear requirements. Can you make up your mind?
Though I will answer your initial question to me about whether I know what a schedule is. Yes. My schedule this week has prevented me from clearing wing 1 and 2 though today I am free. So what I am going to do is log on and with the power of guild chat form a group to clear wing 1 and 2.
In my initial post I complain about people claiming raiders are toxic, and then proceed to tell how I pugged a raid with 9 newbies, without asking them to ping LI and gear, and how after 3 hours everybody had Eternal titles due to a great run. I literally didn’t complain once

See i’ve had people tell me I should just level a rev instead but I just find all the weapons really clunky and the whole feel of the class does nothing for me.
I am levelling a guard and am enjoying it. I do wish the skills were a little more interesting, most of them seem quite flavourless compared to other classes.
Guard is still fun to play. You pretty much have a role in WvW and pve.

Skill lag is the great diety Internet Reality smiting you for blobbing too much. What you’re asking for is a per-map population reduction.

Anet are finally listening to the community. They are making changes based on what we vote for. Bringing up a topic about a dead horse at this time seems worthwhile right? Because everytime in the past this topic was brought up it was during a time when the devs did not listen to us but if you are not new you would have known that right?
