I feel scoring is not that big of a deal at the moment because there is still no rewards for winning match ups, and last I checked people lost interest in PPT along time ago.
The QoL changes are actually pretty nice. I would like to see the stat of WvW improve and that means getting people playing and maps populated and for me the QoL changes can do that.
This was possible for a long time. When fractals was all about swampland I would use all my spirit weapons underwater ready for bloomhunger or mossman.
Skill lag is the great diety Internet Reality smiting you for blobbing too much. What you’re asking for is a per-map population reduction.
Wasn’t that long ago 20v20 was a huge deal.
You are aware that if I am roaming around and there is a huge blob fight in garrison or something that I will still get skill lag? Are you new to WvW?
Hey guys, is our attention span so bad that we forgot about this already? We need to continue to demand a proper response that isn’t just Mike O’Brien insulting people on the forums.
They have given the response. just because you don’t like the answer dose not mean it’s not a proper response. Time to get over it and face it, ANet are not going to back peddle. Now if this had got some traction with media outlets, maybe we would have got somewhere. But we are not in that place. Let it go. They are not going to respond now, they have not responded on this in weeks.
Um.. They didn’t give a response. Mike O’Brien replied once and insulted a bunch of people and then retreated to his hole. And why would I let it go? I paid money for something, and the company I paid isn’t providing it. This world is getting more and more complacent with getting ripped off, its getting ridiculous.
It’s not getting complacent. If like another poster mentioned a news outlet, or a couple of them, got involved then maybe something would have happened. Anet are also smart, they break this news to us and a few ekes later release SAB and after that this Spring Patch to gloss over this monumental failure.
Simple solution, find a guild.
I understand you just found MMORPGs 5 seconds ago, so I’ll be kind and spell it out for you:
Schedules don’t work for everybody
There, I hope I helped.
So then what Is stopping you from making a group with your friends? What is stopping you from joining a guild anyway and making your own group within that guild when you are on?
Not every guild in this game are full of elitist members that only want you to show up on specific days. I have had a schedule that has not allowed me to clear both wings however today I am free and will set a group up myself.
There, I hope I helped.
I’m pretty sure if this was in the poll everyone would have voted for this. With alpine borderlands returning and the server linking already in place WvW activity is going to increase.
As much as I like alpine returning and Anet looking at long standing issues with WvW the biggest of those, for me, is skill lag.
Better question in my mind is why are people so obsessed with raiding..
There are people that need to feel better than others, but aren’t actually good enough to play pvp with reasonable success. Raids let them sidestep that minor issue… but only as long as other players care. Thus, the main goal of raiders is to advertise raids as the elite content, and that anyone not doing raids is not a pro like they are. Bonus points for making raids as much unfun as possible, to decrease the chances of other people actually wanting to play it.
Lol you are so far from the truth it’s hilarious. So people that raid are bad at pvp is your argument? You do know that a lot of the raiders have the legendary pvp Backpeice which requires legendary and diamond (minimum).
Raiders raid because it’s fun content and more challenging than dungeons or fractals. You also get to interact with 5 other people so getting to know your fellow guild members. The final reason is the rewards.
There has never been a topic here were raiders have come on and said raids are our content. Yet every casual is making posts about how they want it to be their content.
Also, for a lot of casual players in big boss events, so long as the boss is losing health, and they are winning, they are probably not aware of doing anything wrong by not CCing. “Was the event successful? Then I must’ve been doing it right.” That also furthrs the “I don’t care about CC” attitude b/c they didn’t need it last time. They end up getting carried by everyone else and don’t realize there’s more to learn. Only by repeated failure will they finally stop to figure out what’s going wrong.
The vast majority of the time, people are actually right when they think they don’t need to break that bar. Most encounters are easily winnable without ever putting even a slight dent in the bar. That sure doesn’t do anything to educate people, and after fighting dozens of enemies with useless break bars, running into one where not breaking it has major consequences, they’re still clueless.
I agree. The only place where breaking the break bar is even relevant is in raids.
Kinda disagree with that. Vinetooth Prime in Auric Basin is next to impossible if the rest of the group does nothing. I usually bail out after 2 CC phases if breakbar doesn’t break after my necro using golem rush, spectral grasp, WH daze and the CC in reaper shroud.
Also in some dungeons and fractals breakbars make fights a lot easier.
You don’t have to break the bar in dungeons and fractals, sure it makes fights easier because of the damage increase but it’s not necessary.
Hey guys, is our attention span so bad that we forgot about this already? We need to continue to demand a proper response that isn’t just Mike O’Brien insulting people on the forums.
It’s over, they have said what the wanted to say and anything they say further will be same as what they have already said.

For me the issue is not being afraid. I do raids but I have other classes like a DD and Druid Healer fully setup and ready to go. But most groups want experience only, so I don’t play them. Then when they ask if someone has a healer, everyone is silent. I volunteer mine but I tell them, I only healed on VG and then they don’t want to give me a chance to heal on other bosses. So back to my default raid characters again lol.
So imo, if you can’t find someone to fill a role and they’re somewhat experience give them a chance. If they’re bad, they should revert back to their main raid character. People won’t know what they’re capable of if they aren’t allowed to use any non main characters.
Are you speaking from a pug perspective?
I think everyone that has a problem with raiding are speaking from a pug respective. Thinks like this don’t happen in most guilds, they will give you a chance to get experience on whatever class you want. Go out and look for a guild that suits you. If you are in a guild that is behaving like this then that’s not the guild for you for raiding, you can represent 5 guilds.
Went back to gw1 the other day to farm some titles and the nostalgia hit me like a wave. Gw1 > gw2.
Hate it being interrupted and going on a full cd before the effect has triggered but hey, guards are in a good place right?
Point of the story is.
If someone doesn’t play “perfectly” then rub it off your shoulders OR leave the party/group instantly.
If you instead prefer to call them names (regardless of how “tame” they may be) then be prepared to be called an a22hole or garbage afterwards.
You all have a great day.
Have a great day as well! I hope this post helped get some of that anger/frustration out!
If he were better at fractals this would all have been avoided
Care to list what you think needs a boost? Last time I checked JI wasn’t a hammer skill.

Stay classy.
While I do agree with you, the attitude is really unappealing. Honestly Like Lux said the game is casual so there is no reason for people to act like… Lux xD.
At the same time the one resounding point I agree with him/her on is, why did you not just say it in game. Why bother coming here and posting something like this? If you have an issue with another player take it up with him or her.
you know..i really did think about taking it up with the guy ingame.
But just like i ignored most of that lux guy’s post, i chose to ignore the dude in game cause in my opinion you cant change people who have that nasty attitude.
Perfect example is what this Lux guy just demonstrated…He read my post and then reacted the way he did. There were so many things wrong with his post but honestly there’s no point in arguing because in the end, tomorrow he will wake up an kitten .h.o.l.e anyway.
So instead you come here and call everyone that acts like that garage and you call people here aholes so how is your attitude different to the guy who called you a ‘casual’? Pretty sure calling people garbage or kitten is worse than being called a casual.
Bro…
If person A treats person B like an a22hole, then Person B is in the right when he calls person A an a22hole. Its simple.
and now your becoming problematic my putting words in my post. I never called EVERYONE ( as you say ) garbage. Go back and read OP.
Also, if i am in a fractal and i happen to play it in a different way than you do, there’s no need to call me a ‘’casual pug’’ because you don’t know nothing about me. I could be the best dam thing to log into GW2 yet because i play differently i am a ‘’casual pug’’?
i like this back and forth we have but i am about to leave work and wont be able to continue much longer "/
I think you need to read what I wrote, I said everyone that acts like the person who called you a casual not everyone in general. So for you it’s ok to call people kitten if you get called a casual? A casual won’t even be offended by being called a casual an elitist on the other hand would be.
For the record I don’t care how you play the content that isn’t my problem.
Hero version might be through WvW season as the hero forged weapons were only available through the previous seasons.
Gw2 FAQ:
What’s so special about Legendary weapons?
Cosmetics, prestige, and convenience. Legendary weapons are very expensive and time-consuming to craft, and typically have much more grandiose visuals than other skins. Their stats are identical to ascended weapons, but unlike ascended or lesser gear, players may change the attribute bonuses of their legendary weapon at any time while out of combat.Notice that skill is not mentioned here. Just wealth and time investment. They may be “prestige” items, but it’s a different type of prestige than the one that is constantly referenced in this discussion.
Times change. Every single legendary in HoT is wealth, time and skill locked.
Skill locked? What skill do you need to get HoT legendaries?
For fractals:
level 53 Underground Facility Fractal with an 80% reduction to healing
level 54 Aetherblade Fractal with an 80% reduction to healing
level 100 Captain Mai Trin Boss Fractal in under 25 minutes (reset bug is fixed so gonna do it in 1 go without dying)
3 other collections require 80% reduction too but are below 50
For pvp:
Cross enough divisions in 2016 to get a precursor.
For open world:
Be good in the open world. Easy for some and “omg I am dying all the time” for others.
For raids:
Do raids weekly.
So this thread went from wanting easy mode raids to wanting easy mode legendary armour to wanting easy mode HoT legendaries to wanting easy mode back legendaries.
Or they could change the mechanic to be more obvious and intuitive…
The blue bar is pretty obvious.

You are a casual but have the attitude of an elitist.
Please give us the option of not hearing ‘Retreat!’ ‘I feel six feet tall!’ And the most annoying ‘GWAAAARHH’. My poor ears can’t take it anymore and the music of gw2 is to good for me to not listen to.

So what? Do you need safe space from the mean people that are telling the truth? Oh boy, you’re so perfect, you have a LIFE! Who would have knew? We all have lives, we all have families (part of or our own), the majority of us either study or work. And guess what? Not all of those are casuals.
If your time must be divided between a videogame, a job and a child, then set your priorities. That videogame should be the lowest on the list. I never understood this pathetic argument. I’m bad at the game because I have a wife, child, job, A LIFE, thus you are a no-lifer useless keyboard warrior.
News flash. You don’t need to play 24/7 to be good at this game, which, is in itself casual compared to the majority of titles, online or offline. But I guess you are so bad that if someone is able to facetank the new archdiviner on a zerker mesmer you think he is a no lifer. Why didn’t you say it to that person in game? Afraid? Aren’t you also a keyboard warrior by threatening others over the internet with violence? Let me guess, in real life you are a promoter of “tolerance and acceptance”.
You were bad, but your fragile ego cannot accept the truth, it haunts you so bad and you go on the forums making a useless topic acting like some sort of though guy. Grow up, kid and git gud.
Holy kitten bro….
Did you forget to take your meds today? What did life throw your way to get you miserable?
Grumpy kitten kid….
You casuals are more toxic then the elitist.
No people are not happy if you force them into content they don’t like only for rewards.
You are not forced to do this. Legendary armour is just a skin and it baffles me that there are people that think it’s far greater.
Unless someone tells them about “boss mechanics”, how would an average player know?
Not everyone goes online to watch a twitch stream, a youtube video, or read wiki notes about a game they are playing. In fact, I bet most don’t at all. There are certainly no in game hints/answers as to what to do in a boss fight.
I’ve been on a boss fight during which people asked “what is CC? Is chill CC?”. Valid question, but difficult to answer in the midst of it all.
Only once, on Mordremoth during the DS meta, did someone calmly explain the mechanic. The number of “thank yous” and “oooohhhhs” was incredible.
Then the average player must be lower than what I expected.
Problem also occurs when no one is saying anything in /s because they are just doing there own thing. To be fair it has been months since break bars were introduced so I would have guess players would have figured out what to do.
Now bring in elite Luxon armour, I was farming gw1 titles yesterday and boy I miss that armour on my warrior.
The only thing north is the raid which we know is following the White mantle storyline. It is possible they bring in a new map in the north but I don’t have a map here at work to view to see what other locations are north.

Hate to break it to you but this is how legendaries work and are viewed.
Maybe you should have told him this in game.
Thanks for your input.
No problem thanks for calling everyone garbage. Really insightful post.
There is not ‘tutorial’. In the core game you are introduced to the idea of dodging early on but once you enter HoT there is nothing telling you this is how this works or that works etc. Not everyone reads blog post that outline new mechanics and it’s frustrating playing with others that have no idea of what I consider basic gameplay.
Maybe you should have told him this in game.
HoT isn’t even difficult. Players are finally presented with a small challenge and they can’t handle it. You should have figured out by now how to navigate through each map and how to deal with various mobs, if you have not then that isn’t the games fault.
Don’t go asking for nerfs if you have not put in the effort to learn the map and environment. Anet put a lot of effort in making HoT rewarding and the last thing this game needs is to be like core Tyria where pressing 1 was all you did.
‘Leaked’ changes to stability might be coming in and I am almost certain Hunters Ward is going to get changed as well.
Other then that I expect ‘Guardains are in a good spot right now’.
What are you guys expecting in terms of class balance in today’s patch?
So what is the point of having these forums. More and more devs are posting in Reddit these days.
And the WvW commanders are laughing at this thread. If it wasn’t for the WvW community you would have to pay 300g per colour like they intended it. WvW commanders accepted the price tag and so should PvErs, who can earn way more than WvW commander.
Are you ever going to do something on this forum? I am getting frustrated with the amount of devs that keep posting on Reddit and topics here get ignored.
So the WvW update is coming on Friday 22nd and not the 19th?
The WvW beta is coming with this update on the 19th (unless otherwise stated) so what will happen to WvW? For the launch of HoT WvW was down to implement the new borderlands, how will this beta test be implemented?
I don’t expect a player to answer this but hopefully this will get the attention of the devs.
This is really starting to bother me as I have everything in my inventory laid out how I want it and this bug keeps messing things up.
This looks like the Crimson short bow from the BLC with an aura. 6 months for this lol. No wonder the legendary team got disbanded.
So the patch is ready to ship but you won’t tell us what’s coming? Is it ready or not?
The raids are a much more complex, inherently elitist, and easier to implode undertaking.
I honestly think that’s the point. Raids where specifically billed as Hard content.
Think of it this way, if raids didn’t exist all those elitist twits would still be running around in your fractals and dungeons.
The elitist twits would have left the game.
Because usually these players that raid are being so tryhard to make it into an “elitist” thing, so I can’t bother with it anymore.
Full ascended gear on 3 different professions is apparently required to enter a raid group.
Yeah, no… not going to bother with that. I can dedicate time and skill, gold, food and whatnot, but I’m not going to bother filling 2 more professions with ascended equipment because these raiding players thinks it’s necessary.
It makes me cringe when elitist players try to make a game that is casual into something hardcore.
In certain guilds they ask for that because certain class stacking is pointless. It has nothing to do with elitism. You can’t expect to bring a bunch of mesmers and not hit enrage. There are plenty of guilds out there that accommodate all sorts of players and there is no reason why you can’t start your own group in LFG or from friends.
It makes me cringe the amount of casuals that want to turn this casual game even more casual.
Never mentioned anything about class stacking, you did.
People are allowed to form whatever groups they want. It just becomes overly pitiful when they ask people to have 3 different professions with full ascended armour.
Read what I wrote.
Again, they ask you to have multiple classes with sets so they can avoid class stacking. If you play a Mesmer and other guy plays a Mesmer then one of you will have to switch. Now there are guilds out there that need specific classes but having a backup is nice (not needed). In LFG groups ask for specific classes as well.
how do we know it not finished? missing legendary… not that i care for them. but the promised content of HoT simply isn’t there.
and the reason they have teething problem in wvw and other content is really because of the short beta. development isn’t just about making the game, but also testing it.
anyway even if this is a HoT beta, why is it bad? i get to lvl my game and explore the world earlier, it all fun.
I did not pay for a beta.

. Everything you listed for fotm are not needed either. Outside of some fotm you can dodge the AR attacks, you don’t need food or oil and if you do dodge the AR attacks you don’t need ascended gear. Plus in fotm you can also get rewards of up to 100g (btw you can’t salvage ascended items to get the based materials back so who cares how much they are worth).
While you may not need those things, I use them, and even with using food, oils, and potions, AR, Ascended Items, I still manage to turn a profit running Fractals.
Now, If you can’t turn a profit doing a Raid (or any content for that matter) then you need to revisit how good you really are at that content, and accept that perhaps that content is not really the right content for you, if you can’t turn a profit doing it.
I turn a profit because I am in a good guild, this isn’t about me. Though everyone is not in a good guild that can speed clear a raid and for those what do you say? ‘This content is not for you’. Well if you can’t get a guild or friends to get the legendary armour then we’ll ‘this content is not for you’.
I’ll just coincide that you would understand that situation better then I would, I mean after whatever MMO you used to play, I am sure had raids, and you gave that up to come play an ultra-casual game like GW2, where, a 3 hour a week investment can net you some pretty good progress and guilds only serve as a social hub, because honestly, you realized that the demands to do raids in that other MMO were simply beyond you.
Wish I could share in that sentiment, as the last MMO I quit playing was Black Gold Online, and honestly I stopped playing because I really hated their
money grubbingpayment model. But, I will say we kinda agree, I mean, really, if players joined GW2 at any time prior to HoT, they stayed because of the friendly, casual, enjoyable content, where they did not need to be in the right guilds to gain access to the whole game, and I guess if the direction that GW2 is going in, is to make it so that players need to be in the right guilds, know the right people, Then I am sure many people will realize, you’re right, and that this is not the game for them anymore.
I will tell you what games I have played what i did.
GW1 Pvp 4yrs
Wow pvp 1 yr
Aion Pvp 2yrs
SWTOR pvp 1yr
GW2 WvW 3yrs
As you can see I have no raid background. Sure I did PvE in these game to supplement my pvp expenses but my main focus was always pvp at a high competitive level. First raid was in HoT because wvw failed. I joined GW2 because I love GW1, still my favourite MMO. Gw2 was never advertised as a casual game and even if it had I still would have come over because of my GW1 history.
Sure I raided a little in Wow but that wasn’t hard either.
The reason I don’t do raids has nothing to do with the difficulty of the raid itself, but rather the attitude of the of the crowd performing these raids. They require you to have this, this and this, and to play this class with this elite specialization unlocked, and if you don’t ping your gear out you go. I don’t play like that. I have a character I like to play, in gear that I like, with a build that I like. Admittedly it is the group’s prerogative to kick me if I don’t comply with their wishes, but it is also my prerogative to play my character how I dang well feel like. And so I don’t raid.
Then find a guild. If your guild are enforcing these rules then find another. Don’t blame the fact enrage timers have kept the zerker meta the same.
