I have been waiting over an hour for this event to begin and I have no idea how to trigger it or if I am even in the correct area.

I have been waiting around Dark Haven in Delanian Foothills and running to Draithors Demise. Is this the correct area? The wiki states X:45 but nothing has happened. The only event that comes up is the Lionguard Patrol. What am I doing wrong?

Lionguard patrol, I believe, is a prerequisite event for Draithor. It’s the first in a chain.

I have done that event a lot in the hour I was waiting and nothing came off it after. There is a dolyak escort that you can trigger but the wiki doesn’t mention needing any of these two events.

I’m not sure they’d do that storyline since it was already done in GW1. The War in Kryta was a civil war, we fought to overthrow the White Mantle and place Salma on the throne. It would feel kind of ridiculously if we got the same storyline reversed. Which isn’t to say it couldn’t happen.

But would the citizens of Kryta know this history? I am no lore buff but is there any indication that Krytans know about the White Mantle and Mursaat and this war?

I like the different style with no dedicated tank and condition damage. One thing bugs me is the enrage timers could have been shorter. Had 2minutes left on both bosses on first kills with mistakes.

Guild Wars was my first mmo and to this day it is the best mmo I have played and I have you to thank for it.

It seems like the White Mantle are back and with them maybe the Mursaat. It is mentioned they want to retake what was theirs. Well what did they have? Kryta.

Could we have a Civil War in Kryta for the crown? There are pages and diaries that suggest the White Mantle have agents and spies high in the Krytan hierarchy (Konig mentions this is stated elsewhere as well). As much as I would like to fight Lazarus or even Sual in wing 3 I think what will likely happen is we awaken whatever they are sacrificing to and that will lead the White Mantle to war. Against the five races the White Mantle can’t win, but who’s to say the other races will come to help?

The Sylvari are really weak after Mordys assault, the pale tree is still hurting, Trahearne is dead and Caithe can’t be trusted.
Norns don’t have armies and with Jormag in the North sturing up trouble who’s to say they will come.
Asuras I would presume are safe in Rata Sum. They are not a fighting nation and with Zojja badly injured any hopes of trying to get her to convince the council to aid are over. I suspect they will be caught up in this Rata Novus story.
The White Mantle have agents and spies amongst the human race and who knows how deep it goes. Logan is also badly hurt and Anise is a suspect character.
Out of the races that have a real reason to come and help are the Charr. As much as I Believe the Charr want revenge on the White Mantle they also have many problems. Kralks minions, ghosts in Ascalon and a possible internal power struggle with the arrival or Rytlock and his new found magic and this is just the Iron Legion. Correct me if I am wrong but we don’t know where the Ash Legion are and we have not visited the Blood Legion.

Could we see a Civil War erupting in Kryta? And what do you think about this possible story arc going forward?

The amount of bugs that present themselves after any patch amazes me.

Never going to happen. Forget about it.

They don’t need to redesign anything. Just put invisible walls like they have around jumping puzzles so players can’t glide into towers and keeps.

And why should f2p players get gliding without HoT? I paid for gliding and they get it for free lol. Why would they buy the expansion after? You don’t need stealth gliding, endurance, lean technique or leyline gliding in WvW so giving them basic gliding is stupid.

That whole ‘Ascended grind’ argument is getting old, given how long it has been out.

Even back when HoT came out, if you started saving up your laurels since then you would have a full trinket set easily by now. If you made 1g, yes just 1g, a day, you would have an ascended weapon right now.

And by that time metas (and thus builds) for many classes changed at least once. So you’d need to start again.

You are aware that ascended stat swapping is a thing now? it is far cheaper to stat swap and re-rune your gear then make a completely new set.

Sykper was talking about trinkets. Those cannot be stat-changed, as far as i know.

By the way, while stat changing armor and weapons is indeed cheaper that crafting new ones, it is by no means cheap.

Trinkets can be obtained through guild missions and fractals. They are not complicated or time consuming.

Stat swapping is cheap when compared to crafting a full set of armour and weapons. If you do the above activity and maybe wiki how to get the new runes etc then it is cheap. If you sit around and complain and want things handed to you then it is not cheap (not saying that you are doing that). People now need to work to get stuff.

Anet don’t play their own game and as long as they employ casuals like Rubi they won’t learn anything.

They have one chance to bring people back and that is with the WvW overhaul and what I have heard they invited a bunch of pve guilds to test it.

In my opinion wvw has been good for 2 years. This final year it has been getting worse and it is also the amount of time Anet have said they have been working on it. On Reddit there is a suggestion that the overhaul they have been working on has been scrapped because people did not like the leaked info about it. If this is the case there is still a long way to wait. I just don’t understand why they don’t come here and ask us what we want because making a overhaul of a game mode that they clearly don’t play will only lead to bad decisions.

It says that applicants must be in the USA. Does that still apply?

I already gave Anet my money and I am still waiting for the rest of my expansion.

I was in a map from reset to meta event with a organised community. We got it to tier 4 and 200% participation for each individual. Completed the meta and everyone got 1 key, time well spent.

Nothing will happen. First you have to buy BDO unlike BnS which was f2p. People that bought the expansion will think twice paying for another game. Also it is a Korean based game and anyone who has played a Korean based game will know that the ‘grind’ in gw2 is a lot better than what you will get in BDO, and the rng is a lot worse as well. Once players get their hentai fix they will come back.

How about a new raid wing?

You spent 2 hours in the new maps lol. Spend some more time and get used to them instead of coming here and complaining.

Here is a suggestion, how about a glider skin that we can earn in game and not on the gem store.

I have done story mode on every class and all in berserker gear and I have had no problems in completing it. I may come of as elitist but I also play gw2 like most and that is to have fun. When I see comments about content being to hard I can’t help but hang my head and let out a sigh.

The expansion has been out for a while giving players time to learn the maps (at least routes to get around) and the mobs. If people are skill being killed by raptors and snipers then they have not figured out how to deal with them or just ignoring the other 7 skills they have and the dodge key. I run around on a slow glass cannon guardian so I know these mobs hit hard but they also die fast.

The difficulty is not that high. Anet have just increased the amount of awareness players need to survive. Take the last story step fight with Mordy. He applies confusion on you and you keep swinging away and die, who’s fault is that? You for ignoring the confusion or to hard fight? Now contrast that with Zhaitan fight…

We have also seen this coming with the introduction of SW and the mobs there. Those terragrifs and flower floating things that shoot vines from the ground that follow you till you die! It seems to me the challenge isn’t the content it self but the lack of awareness players have when dealing with mobs or zones. As I said before that if we had more ‘how do I kill x mob’ or ‘how to I get around TD’ threads then maybe we would have less of these threads as players will be made more aware.

I use hammer for fractals over 50, large meta boss fights like gerent and the DS lane bosses etc. Short fights and trash mob clear you are better of with gs/lb.

I feel it is heavily class dependent. I breezed through the story as a full zerk (exotic only) reaper with only half the traits unlocked. I suspect I would have significantly more trouble with a glass mesmer. Maybe op should try one of the pve faceroll classes (necro, warrior, guard, herald)? I suspect the experience will be much different.

It shouldn’t be different though it will depend on what build/gear people use. If you know how to play your class and what skills to use on mobs you will do fine. People still have not realised this is not core tyria where mobs do 0 Dmg.

If you want the gw1 skill system then go play gw1.

I never noticed this until yesterday fighting Mordy in DS. Placed a trap during the bomb phase and nothing happened. As far as hunting the dragon well…did we? I have not done the story for a while but we hunted down Zojja, Logan, the egg the marshal syvlari guy and Rox through TD.

I am pretty sure it gets carried over, there have been times when I forgot to spend points because I was busy doing events and when I remembered and spent them and moved to the next line I had some bars already filled.

What is hard? Do people not know you have more than your auto attack in this game? Do people seriously not know the animations of mobs so they can avoid being hit by big attacks?

Seems three years of casual content has ruined this game going forward if the players are going to complain at the slightest of challenge being introduced.

How about a glider that we can earn in game and not on the gem store!

Winning an award when no other game is good enough is nothing to celebrate. Where is GW2 competition? Still doesn’t mean that the current state of the game is healthy.

Here is a question to Rubi. What do you do with the question that are not related to the topic, the ones you said you skimmed over. Do you pass them over to the relevant people so that they can have a look at them or have you taken note of them so in future Q&A livestreams on other topics they will be asked? Or are they just Ignored all together?

I used one DS a day as an example for the super casual player. If you are that casual you have no right in my eye to complain about grind. If you do 2 a day (4h30 including the time before reset) than you will max out Leyline in, according to your math, 4 days and add any boosters and it will be faster. I can agree that just doing one map over and over for xp is boring but that is not a grind and if a casual does have free time then they aren’t casuals.

I have said this before and I will keep saying it. The core game allowed players to get whatever they wanted so cheap and fast that any kind of challenge or progression you have to work for causes uproar.

The only problem I have with the hammer is the last AA skill being slow but with FMW and a Chrono its fine. For me the hammer is the best weapon on guardians with its dps and utilities.

However some changes I would make are:
Increase the range on Might Blow,
Change Ring of Warding so it can be cast while on the move just like staff Line of Warding.

The rest I think are good enough.

Seems like Anet need to dumb the game down even more.

1-2 months of long play sessions maybe.

Not really. I maxed out my masteries soon after launch so I don’t know if this is still the fastest method. Google maguuma timer and you will get a list of nice sites that tell you when DS is going to start. Log in 5 mins before and taxi to a map and for only 2 hours you will get a good amount of xp. I’m sure even casuals can manage 2 hours a day, and if you want to really push it then AB starts straight after DS.

HOT has little to no useful purpose to ‘exploration’, you’ll see most of it during the metas.

HOT actively discourages exploration. What was GW2’s original joy is crushed under the thorny weight of Mordremoth. ;_;

I think the problem is that certain areas in maps are gated behind meta progression. Take Auric Basin, I can’t explore AB unless the map is t4 and that is a bad idea. DS has the same problem so in order to explore I need to find a t4 AB or find a map that is doing the events and enough so that it will reach t4.

People who say mastery xp is grinding don’t know how to get xp. What are you doing that you can’t get Xp fast enough. I maxed out my mastery while having a new born baby and a full time job with just knowing where to go. You can also travel anywhere you want without needing any of the mastery for gliding, shrooms and wallows. Sure for map completion etc those things are needed but just getting around you don’t need any of it.

Players are to used to being spoon fed easy content for 3 years that any sort of challenge or progression that you have to actually work for causes uproar.

This isn’t a question about creatures or anything related to what you are asking for instead I want to know if this will branch out in to other areas of the game as well. Will you have a Q&A on the dungeon changes, WvW changes and pvp? Or will we just get more fluff streams?

Monday is the worst day for lfg. All the spam about reset raid LFR made me miss so many HoT meta taxis.

Would people be happy paying £40 for an expansion that has very little content like HoT every year? I know I wouldn’t. Seeing as how it took them three years to get this out I don’t mind paying £40 every three years.

HoT maps feel very unwelcoming, like someone really doesn’t want me to go there. And I am happy to oblige and stay in central Tyria. Lol.

In HoT you can longer run around in gear that is 20 levels below you and not die. You actually have to have a good set of armour on.

Once you run around a map a few times you soon find out the fast paths to certain areas and where you can go to avoid certain mobs.

Well i am looking for a fun playstyle where my damage is still good enough that i dont take forever to kill things. Surviving wont be an issue as i know what to expect in the new maps.

Levelled a new thief and don’t really know much about it after the patch. I will mainly use it for open world pve. So which ascended set should I get, power or condi?

We are able to talk about the WvW resurgence update earlier than we thought. Details coming soon. WvW took 5 years to develop and we are working on it as fast as we can. WvW player culling took 1 year of our most senior engineer to fix.
