Yes l’m thinking of the same, and was checking server levels in the mornings, and when I play in the evenings.

Might try to get into a “very high” one, l don’t think it will matter much which one.

Like you l am finding there’s nobody to do, or doing any of the higher level DE’s, events or event chains.

It’s very frustrating, plus our server is always bottom in WvW !

It doesn’t show a torch that leaves a trail of “embers” when it’s at my side, and not in my hand.

Yup a friend l played with had the same problem, l could see them ok, he couldn’t.

Although he could jump onto them, he tried following me but kept falling.

Bit of a long shot this.

I had a torch, then l found a better one, better stats.

My first torch left a trail of embers even when it was stowed away at my side, my new torch doesn’t.

Trying to find out what that torch was, because l must have inadvertently sold it.

Anybody have any ideas ? It was probably quite a low level torch.

I skipped most of it, the only thing l did was open the boxes scattered about, and sell the contents.

Yeah have to agree on this one, 5 is not enough, and a backwards step from GW1

I would like to know when this is being introduced.

I want to transfer to a higher populated server, mine is dead as a doorstop.

I would think the players you see appearing farming the node, and then apparently logging out are teleporting bots.

They will teleport to the node, and then teleport to the next node, and so on.

Area. Timberline Falls, Guilty Tears.
Server. Fissure of Woe.
24/7

4 or 5 been there for 8 weeks 24/7

l keep reporting them but they are still there.

They now log in as invisible so I don’t see them in my friends list, but they are still there 24/7

Yeah gathering tools are a real pain.

Removing them as a gold sink would not damage the economy in any way whatsoever.

It’s not lies, l could just say what you posted is all lies.

Most areas are dead on my server, very few of the harder DE,s, events and event chains get done, waypoints have been contested for ages.

Everybody will have a different experience l guess, but if it goes on like this, the dead servers will die.

I guess increasing server capacity would help, whatever their plan is they need to get a move on pronto.

Otherwise people will be “moving on”.

Also the bots I’ve been reporting for 8 weeks (Yes the same ones, in the same place 24/7) didn’t show as logged in on my friends list.

So l thought l’d have a trip over to where they were as it’s good farming and drops there, and what did l find.

Yeap, there’s still there, the same 4 bots, l’m not seeing them on my friends list because they are logged on as invisible.

And I thought ArenaNet had actually banned them, sighs !

I have a feeling that drops (rare’s in Orr from DE’s) are stealthnerfed again with
last week patch (not only me, but everybody i ask in party’s are feeling the same),
what means more grinding DE’s in Orr for Ecto’s and less incoming gold.

If this is true, that they have yet again nerfed the drop rates after the (surprise, surprise) brushed under the carpet thread about the previous nerfs only to nerf them even further, then there is no hope for this game.

There’s little incentive to do anything, the events, DE’s, bosses and champs I had great fun doing with a group of people are no more.

Most places are empty, barren and devoid of players.

The targetting issue is terrible, nothing better than targetting a non-threatening target you can’t even see, when you have 5 threatening targets right in front of you trying to rip your eyes out.

The places l see them has never had a node, tree or plant there.

But l suspected they are bots or some sort of teleport, speed hack type of thing.

And yes they are player characters.

As you can see, they have not fully appeared before they disappear again.

Totally agree with everything that’s been said and suggested here.

Give us the Ranger that we want, not one the way that Anet “think” it should be.

I have my suspicions, people briefly appearing at various places, some appear and disappear very quickly, always in the same place, some seem to drop down from above and disappear immediately, again in the same places.

I seem to be seeing more and more of this, impossible to get there names.

Anybody know what this is ?

Try before you buy, make sure you preview it, and it has the stats you want.

If your level 80, you should be at Orr now, to get to the Karma vendors you will have to complete some pretty tough events.

Again, different armour at different vendors have different stats.

I found 99% of the medium armour was not to my liking, made me look big and bulky, the further you go up the scale, the bigger and bulkier it looks.

I’m a female Ranger, small sized.

So my armour is transfused to level 1 gear, which l like, it’s nice and light, and doesn’t look heavy with a great big trenchcoat.

What do l want to drop, or get from a chest.

Anything that actually makes it worth doing the DE, event, event chain, boss, champion, Veteran, Dragon and whatever.

The drops, rewards now are worthless, probably explains why nobodies doing anything, and the areas are dead, l’m sure l saw some tumble weed blow past a few times.

It’s a big lonely area out there.

If there were no cost for using the WPs people would just bounce around as fast as possible instead of traversing & experiencing the maps. instead of traversing & experiencing the maps You have to apply some restrictions to maintain an enjoyable atmosphere & “force” people to do things the fun way rather than the fast way.

Adding mounts is a much better alternative to removing WP costs IMO. I more than make up my WP costs (with profit of course) by selling the loot & resources I gather so I don’t really understand the complaint in the first place.

Walked all the maps, don’t want to walk them again, unless l choose to.

Nope, this would encourage people to travel about to where things are happening, nobody want to be on a map where there’s nothing going on because of a lack of players.

There are several posts regarding wp costs, if you read them you would understand why people don’t agree with them, but “in your opinion” they are ok anyway.

My main concern with wp cost are………..

There is no justifiable need for them.
Anet could easily do away with them.
It turns this “supposedly, sociable game, (it’s NOT)”, into a single player game.
It would help bring players together.
It would help get DE’s, champs and event chains done, something that is seriousely lacking right now.

Yeah I’m a Ranger, and sometimes a mob will just lock on to me, plough through everybody else, and seem intent on ripping my eyes out.

Everybody else has to follow on as l dodge and kite around trying to break agro.

Make or break time for me, maybe.

Depends on a couple of games l’m waiting for, depends how good (or not) they are.

Depends on what Anet have planned for GW2, and the direction they intend to take it in.

Depends on lots of small (in game) things if l stay or not.

WP costs, too high, get rid, won’t cost Anet anything and won’t make the economy explode.

Will help players to play together, help others, make the game more social, get to DE’s and events faster.

And of course we all like rewards of some sort, things are so expensive, rewards are so misery, drops are virtually non-existant.

I don’t know what Anet’s plan is with all this, why, to force people to buy stuff, or to drive people away.

What’s the point in fighting Champs, bosses, doing DE’s when there’s nothing to achieve.

Yup pretty much this, did 3 bosses in Orr last night, nothing of any use or worth dropped from anywhere and the chests were just rubbish. Nothing at all worth over 1 silver, and nothing of any use to my class.

It’s just a waste of time, and it took 2 or 3 hours to do, I don’t know what the problem is with giving us decent rewards for putting in some effort, I’m not saying it wasn’t fun, it was, but what a disappointment to get nothing.

Players will just quit, and once they’re gone it will be difficult for Anet to get them back.

The games been a struggle all the way through to get anything half decent, there are weapons and armour I would like, but it’s an insane mindless grind to get them, and there’s no other way to get them but to grind for 100’s of hours, the same thing over and over.

It’s getting on for 2 months now and l’m still reporting the same 3 bots in Timberline Falls, yup they are still there up by the Asura champ.

I have no idea what Anet are doing, but l find this very frustrating that they get away with it 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

I have reported them many times, and they still bot on.

I have seen this before in Korean grinds, promises to deal with bots, and no action.

Same with the shortbow still, and l guess dome other ranged weapons.

Was doing a couple of champs in Orr last night, l reckon 30% of my damage was obstructed, when clearly there was no obstruction.

What sort of game is this !!

AND just to add to that, did 3 bosses in ORR and didn’t get anything drop or in a chest that was worth over 1 silver.

Is it ever worth it, I’m beginning to think why bother.

No of course it’s not that hard to “run” through Orr and get map completion, and never go back there.

It’s a bit different if you want to do the DE’s and event chains there, your gonna need more than 2 people, and sometimes it’s like only 2 people in that area.

I like Orr and l like the DE’s there, just sometimes it’s very lonely there, oh wait, it’s very lonely on many other area’s as well.

I love Orr and the DE’s and events there, BUT there’s nobody there, I watch thing’s go by and can’t do a thing about it.

When it’s going ok with other players, it’s exciting, adrenalin pumping action.

But the place is deader than (Insert your own word here).

And I don’t mind the contested waypoints, so long as Rally is not contested.

I would like to see something, anything that goes towards fixing the deserted area’s.

Anything, l don’t care just get people out and doing DE’s and events.

There’s more life in the Gobi desert than some of the maps.

It’s a minor point and ArenaNet should’nt be wasting their time on it, there are for more important thing’s they should be doing.

So, imagine how effective a mesmer is without using shatters, or engineer without using overdrives on turrets. As a main ranger, I just hide my pet when i want to run. Even if you do get hit, it’s not like you’ll die while running from two mobs chasing you. And, pets kind of do double your damage (at least, that’s been the case with mine. I can do like 400 with an axe, but my pet does 800 with a peck)

It only does “some” damage when it’s actually alive, many time when it dies and recovers to 80% health it still won’t do anything, whats the point in that.

Are you level 80 yet, done any dungeons or orr ?

I can assure you your pet is going to be dead most of the time, and quite often there’s so much going on you won’t want to be fiddling with your pet trying to actually do something.

It’s teleporting bots.

Short bow, long bow bores me rigid. (It’s so slow).

If you really don’t want the pet when running around, you can “store” them and they will not be there with you. But you allways will have a pet ready to help out when needed and called for.
For me, Ranger is the best bow user. Have a ton of fun with mine and still learning things

You can’t fight without your pet.
You can temporarily put it away, but as soon as you touch a weapon, out it pops.

You want the pet, fine keep it, I don’t want the pet, give me the optipon and a buff or extra damage of some sort to compensate for it.

Hey guys, I’d like to suggest an opition for the Ranger class to have or not have a Pet with it. Personally, I hate pets and I dislike the fact you can’t permentantly remove it. I think if we had this opition, and you choose to get rid of the pet, you could get something instead.. Example: 5 more spells in spellbook than Rangers with Pets. THIS ^^^^^, I hate my pet, I don’t want to “micro-manage” my pet, my pet is mainly dead and causing me agro.

I only ever play a Ranger, played a Ranger since the launch of GW1.

For me this is a game breaker.

How about being able to convert them into Karma ?

The few tokens I get (Same in WvW) are useless to me, let us turn them into something we can use.
