Rather than thread after thread after thread of ehrmageddonnerf…
Why not theorycraft ways the changes can work, and then give feedback after having tested the changes.
I mean those of you that are revenant fans, have to have a little bit of faith in Roy so far right?
Maybe the changes are for the best?
I trust Roy enough at this point that I’m willing to see the mallyx changes in action before passing judgement.
I thought they were brilliant, what was the problem?
With the magnificence you’ve achieved so far, I #believeinray
I would be a little bit impressed, if that build worked in spvp.
You used in WvW which means you had people not knowing what to expect from you and you had an obvious gear advantage to most people.
This is UA all over again. People think UA is super OP, because they have never seen it and don’t know what to do. Once people figured it out they knew how to handle it and it was less effective.
New Profession + Max Gear doesn’t mean something is OP in pvp.
Terra, I agree with basically everything you said. However keeping in mind that the animation is already there for the elite, the function can only be changed I would like to see the heal component include regen, as well as the heal, or just make it an awesome oh kitten button. No one uses this for the damage, or knockback.
I agree with tablet spawn on legend swap, but I am still not sure about how Ventari fits in naturally or is powerful enough to be used any situation but pve reliably. What really does ventari do that herald doesn’t do better ?
When to shiro?
I normally only shiro when I need to escape, never really think to use it offensively. I always feel like the moment I swap from Herald it’s because all of my cooldowns are used up and I’m trying to get the dagger heals or escape.
How are you using Shiro?
I think it’s totally fine. No need to follow you around or persist when swapping legends. Cmon guys, that’d be too powerfull.
In what context? sPvP? WvW? PvE?
I’m going to play around in the last couple hours with a ventari build, but so far it’s not that impressive.
It just feels like… Ventari is just different ways of healing. No real buffing or anything, just different ways of healing.
And the fact the tablet doesn’t persist through Legend swap is even worse.
I’m not familiar with playing Mallyx that much but that sounds like Mallyx Elite.
I’m now a convinced fan of the shield. I went with Jekt’s build and so far I’ve been very, very successful with it.
gap closing with shiro.
and idk if it’s you or if it’s me but i’m more or less destroying everything with it. the only difficult matchup is burn guard and opponents with a lot of random ccs, hello there taunt.
I’ll spend some more time with it tonight/tomorrow. See if I can get into the swing of shield.
My question is you guys with shield, how are you gap closing without axe 4? I can’t get into the shield thing. Since 5 is broken, how are you closing the gap ?
See I used Glints quite a bit but it just doesn’t seem to heal me for all that much, even while being pounded on. Maybe they are just picking me out as rev and focusing me harder than I realize. I will say that when we were taking some keeps swapping to Ventari and being ally defense/heal worked great. Just seems in the smaller skirmishes is where I struggle the most. I’ll keep working on my timing for the defenses, maybe I’m just popping them too early before I’m getting focused the hardest.
Are you activating glints? I mean beyond the regen? It’s impossible for someone to kill you during Infuse Light as it converts all damage to healing.
I’ve settled on Sword/Axe and Staff with Glint/Shiro and I’m loving it so far. I’ve seen a lot of confusion on Glint Abilities so here’s my usage of those abilities. Would love to hear if you’ve used them differently or if I’m using them wrong.
Facet of Light/Infuse Light
I almost always run with this ON, the -1 upkeep is more than manageable, and spreads regen to my party. When I’m being focused or there is a lot of damage being handed out then I Infuse Light, which more often than not gets me from almost dead back to full. This is a very powerful heal when used during enemy burst.
Facet of Darkness/Gaze of Darkness
I rarely run with this on, however when I encounter an enemy Mesmer/Thief this is Godly. Popping Gaze of Darkness breaking enemies out of stealth is invaluable in both 1v1 and team fights.
Facet of Elements/Elemental Blast
I run with Facet of Elements on OOC and then will dump Elemental Blast on enemies as an opener/damage add during the fight whenever I think it will hit. The burning/chill/weakness is very helpful.
Facet of Strength/Burst of Strength
The might stacking is nice, especially when paired with Facet of Nature pre-fight and the Burst of Strength really stacks the weakness up quickly when you’re ready to burst.
Facet of Chaos/Chaotic Release
I rarely have bothered using the Facet of Chaos, and almost always just double click it for the Chaotic Release .The upkeep is very expensive, so 1v1 I’d never do this as when you have this out you can do no other damage, but in group fights this is fantastic to run for the group. The Chaotic Release however is a great source of damage as well as a knockback.
These are the ways I’m using the Glint skills, do you do any thing different?

6+9? Quickness does not affect shiro’s healing. It always has 0.5s cd between daggers
Yeah, but with staff 1, that’s a lot of healing and damage being generated quickly.
Most of it comes from how you use your defense. Like glint heal is amazing! Let yourself get a little low then when you see the enemy burst you pop your heal, you’re back to full. (converts all damage to healing)
Staff 3 is defensive, Shiro 7 is amazing at escape, Shiro 6 + 9 = amazing burst healing. Sword 3 is a defensive maneuver as well.
I made a post for my build if you’re interested here.
Is auto attack with staff better than sword?
I like it better because of the orbs, and the access to staff 3 for defense.
Swapped out Mace for Sword, and loving it. Sword 3 for might stacking then swapping to staff as normal is pretty devastating.

Glint/Shiro
Stacking Might via Glint and Mace 2/3, move in for the kill with Axe 4,5, then swap to Shiro, Hit Heal, staff 5, Shiro 9, then auto attack till death.
So far it’s been pretty devastating. Shiro 7 is great for escapes along with staff 3. Tanky enough I’m able to do well 2v1, and winning most 1v1.
Open to critiques/changes.

You can only use up to -10 upkeep, giving you a total of -5 (base regen is +5). You are already using facet of nature upkeep, that is -2, activating Impossible Odds would give you -12 (so -7 total), that is impossible (and would drain all your energy very fast).
Look at your pips ui.
Shouldn’t the error then be:
“Not enough upkeep available?”
Someone on my server was mentioning how using Ventari/Glint he was able to do pretty massive burst with:
Salvation/Retribution/Herald
But I’m not seeing how this is done.
Why does Ventari’s Tablet not persist through Legend Swap? Shiro’s Crystals persist. Sure you won’t be able to activate the ability or move it, but it would be added usefulness if you could summon it and get the passive effect while in another legend.
Absolutely no contest for me. This my new main.
I can’t even bring myself to log in and play another other Profession. Ray’s ruined GW2 with the Revnant. I’m patiently waiting for the expansion now.
My favorite thing to do that weekend was Shiro 6, 9, Hammer 4, AA
It’s like anyone that says Glint / Shield is useless in pvp, is completely unaware of the existence of bunker builds.
Well, considering what Glint and Shield do, I don’t see the use for bunkering. Now, I’m not saying they’re bad, but the bunker role is a poor example here.
Honestly, Revs who want to bunker will likely just stay Revenants by the look of things.
You might want to read the current guardian meta, designed to team support / hold.

As the title requests, does anyone know if there is an updated website with the trait builders and such? Want to run through a few theories.
While you wait for the glorious master class that is the Revenant what are you doing to get ready for it? I’ve decided basically farm all the materials that I will need to do all the things on my revenant. I haven’t decided quite yet on the Race. I’m normally Asuran. But I’m leaning towards Sylvari or Charr for mine. As well as do my dailies saving all the tokens and such. Revenant is the Master Class.
Thanks for all the healing feedback from people who found usefulness. Gave me lots of good ideas.
I don’t even really enjoy playing any other class right now. I only want to revenant.
While I understood the concept of it, playing as it was a little awkward. I couldn’t get the Elite to work on players (figured the knockback would be awesome projecting down to cliffs and capture points in WvW and PvP respectively)
Did Anyone have success with Ventari build? I’m theorizing it would be fantastic as a backline tool, projecting it forward and such but I felt like I was the only one in WvW ever actually trying to make it work.
Possibly something like Shiro/Ventari Build. Staff/Hammer?
Yes, I fully support the Book following you around, having to move it constantly is very tedious.
After awhile last night I swapped from sword to mace, and from soldier gear to dire and am running as a condi build. I’ve noticed the might stacking from Mace 2→3 seriously helps in team fights, and I’m still just rocking 1v1 without all the unpredictability (like why did I just teleport to that critter) of Sword 3.
Even went and ran a 1-9 fractal and it worked out amazing. Hammer 4 and AA + Shiro 6 and 9 kept me at full health for most of the fight. Would save Shiro 9 for my Hammer 4 cool down then AA health back.
Yeah, the mechanic of Utility OR Weapon skill is weird. While I’m successful with it currently that’s the choice I’m making most of the time.
Was just trying to use this in WvW projecting it down then popping the elite, and it exploded, and dropped the heals, but did not move anyone. Is this a bug, or intended?
I swap staff for hammer in wvw and boom, glorious. same build.
This build is exactly what I was looking for. Well done.
Seems like survival is going to be a major problem. Every warrior/guardian/thief I come across in WvW or PvE knocks me down during every single attack, then bursts me dead.
Anyone come across a decent roamer or bunker build yet?
Are you people complaining about Slow being OP actually doing this in spvp, wvw, or fractals?
Because while you can do this on dummies for sure, is this helping you against actual players?
In PvP, just GS AA (which is not so hard to land) is procing crits fast enough to slow a lot. So yes, it does help against actual player.
You are personally killing players with this yourself to know this is over powered and not easily over come. You’re not dieing 1v1 and killing players 1v1 with this?
I’m neither playing nor dying from it (I’m having a lot of fun and a bit of frustration with a chrono-bunker build). I just realize that GS AA would proc well while I know it is rather easy to land.
So please let’s keep this to actual player experience. Theory crafting on dummies doesn’t really help now does it? Asking for nerfs based on possibilities helps no one.

I feel like Gravity Well needs something on drop, and then on finish. Like a single pull in at start, then lift up at end.
