They should buff Pure Of Voice trait to convert 2 conditions into Boons instead of just 1. Then with trooper runes it would mean cleansing 3 condis per shout.
With the current condi meta this would help shout guards a lot.
Now i would prefer condi application to be reduced rather than more power creep but since Anet won’t listen, buffing Pure of Voice is a decent option.

Sweet a post complaining about complaining. I’m not complaining, just pointing it out. It would great if people posted complaining about this thread which is complaining about future threads. How far can we go!
Exactly…. i felt left out since i haven’t started one of those “Nerf X, buff Y” threads. But felt the urge to post some kind of complaint thread since it seems to be in fashion these days.

Forecast for this week.
Whining with a good chance of salt. Bouts of QQ supported by some vague rationale.
Expect to see plenty of “Every class i don’t play is OP” followed by the inevitable “Buff my underpowered main class”.
So in summary, same as last week.
Long term forecast, more of the same.
“Buff my main class, nerf everything else. "
I remember one guy called me out too for being on a class just for the achievements. He said “hey guys we lost because 1 of our guys is here on a sub par class for achieves”. The funny part was I was second highest in points while he was at the bottom. Once I mentioned that fact he quickly left the map.
Waiting for that moment when you realize that having more points in the match does not equal to being better than the guy below you.

Get 5 people together and play that way. If you do, anet will ALWAYS queue you against 4-5 solo players so you’ll always have a kittening MASSIVE advantage.
They changed matchmaking quite a while back to make it impossible for a solo Qer to ever face a full premade of 5.
4 person pre made was the optimal setup. You could face full soloq players with that.

The issue I have with the Engi answers here, it’s very hard to push kills as engi. It has amazing rezzing potential but without slisck shoes, creating kills situation is often out of your control.
I think Rev is still the best soloqueue carry out there really.
The standard Rev burst was nerfed significantly with the 75% increase in energy cost for Phase Traversal. The removal of the stealth tracking also means what used to finish off Engies and Thieves will not do so anymore.
Phase Traversal nerf means Rev mobility is significantly reduced , which impacts its Plus 1 ability quite a bit.
The arrival of the Condi bomb Warriors is also very hard for Revs to handle.

Class stacking is a problem we created. Now that most professions are viable, there is no excuse not to switch if you are too many of one profession on your team.
That’s like in Overwatch: sure, you can play two Widowmaker if you want, but no team plays that because one of the player will switch. I don’t know why GW2 players are incapable of doing this.
Well there is this thing ANET made called class achievements. Cant tell you how many times its obvious someone is playing a class that day purely for the class achievement and the only skill they know how to do that class is press 1.
Then of course the players that only like one class (nothing wrong with that). Maybe at most they like 2 classes and dont care to change. Especially solo queuers.
Preventing class stacking will prevent the 4 thief teams because its thief winner or whatever and also will let players play the class they want.
Preventing class stacking will also naturally limit the OP class being played too much. If the flavor of the month re-rollers all go to the OP class, that class will see increased wait times.

unchecked in my preferences for months now
So then, you have really no experience on it then?
How did you get to that conclusion? I played it in beta and some matches in Season 1. It was a premade pip farm. basically felt like PvP designed for PVE players. Boring as heck and premades with proper comps literally destroyed soloq teams.
Thats when i unchecked it. If i want to PVE theres the whole world of Tyria out there.

Since I made a conscious decision not to care or actually try at all to go for legend this season, seeing all this QQ definitely helps me realize I made the right decision.
Maybe I’ll give it a shot closer to the end of the season if the mood strikes me but for now my advice to anyone who already got the back item is avoid this cancer mode at all cost, life is just better this way, JS…
Best way to play IMO. I am not legend material and dont really care about backpack, I just want fun, exciting, challenging games.
Dont get me wrong if by some luck i get the achievements done by the end of Season 4, fine but im not gonna go crazy for them.
The biggest fail ANET did was make a legendary PVE item a reward for PVP league. It should have just been an exclusive SKIN.

In order to prevent class stacking ANET will have to ensure you cannot swap classes once pvp map loads or prevent you from DC’ing and coming back on a diff class.
If class stacking is prevented then there will be no need to swap classes either since you know you will be the only one of that class in your team.

108 games in season 3 ?
that’s way too many games.we are like, what? 3rd or 4th day into season 3 ?
if 4 day, that’s 108 / 4 = 27 games per day3 games per hour
9 hours per day ??? ?$ #$^#
$^@so far i only played 3 games in season 3, well, 4, but the 1st game was a desertion since gw2 client refused to cooperate with my internet service provider. my 2nd, 3rd, 4th games were wins so i’m at 4/20 emerald now. i got to ruby in both season 1 and season 2.
i think you played too much.
quality over quantity perhaps ?
Even 4 games per hour means almost 7 hours of pvp per day for 4 days.
You could easily be on a tilt, affecting your gameplay.
What was the advice last season? If you lose 3 in a row, step away from the keyboard and come back in a couple hours or better yet the next day. Otherwise you will continue to be placed with the same group of people. There is simply not a big enough population to provide varied team mates within a specific MMR/Pip range.
“Buff my main class, nerf everything else. "
I first ran vanilla axe/shield but yesterday I respecced back to my berserker axe shield with rage runes, here’s the build. I feel like this variant is pretty much superior in every way to the runes of pack/demolisher amulet one. That toughness does nothing vs condi builds and runes of rage not only give you perma fury without needing to use arcing slice but also pump your crit damage to 239.4% when you’re in berserker mode aaaaand give you a 5% dmg increase when under fury. I don’t know why but recently I can’t seem to be able to stick to marauder or demolisher amulet. I find the damage drop way too significant to warrant the slight sustain increase.
And lol Fivedawgs and Xanctus stahp kittenting on eachother lol
The problem with using Berserker amulet and Strength runes is that its really a YOLO build. With the amount of Thieves running around you will get bursted down much quicker unless you are on your shield set and can block the rest of the burst.
Also the PRIMARY reason i take pack runes is for the switfness uptime. Its very hard for someone to kite me when i have 100% uptime on swiftness while on your set you have no swiftness and are double melee.
“Buff my main class, nerf everything else. "
Im moving back to Warrrior which was my PVP main before Leagues began. But ive been messing around with both condi and power war.
I will also play Engie since i think its still pretty good.
“Buff my main class, nerf everything else. "
EDIT: I do wanna point out though that Power War tends to counter Condi War. I know my mace/Shield + GS Demolisher build makes them look pathetic.
I wrote about this on Wednesday that i honestly feel Demolisher GS Axe/shield power war with pack runes will be the counter to Condi Wars in Season 3.
The problem i feel with the wanderer build now vs merc build before is that power damage is very low so if you are up against a class that has good condi cleanse/resistance then you’re almost worthless.
For eg. who do you think will win in a 1v1? This build vs a Power GS Axe/Shield War . The power war has the same trait setup so has great condi clear and resistance uptime BUT can do a huge amount of power damage against you while negating most of your damage. (i accept that pvp is not 1v1 so dont flame me. im just asking the question)
Using Pack Runes and a sigil of agility (swiftness/quickness one) you will have more run speed to help counter anyone who wants to kite you.
Sometimes (at least for soloQ) a good build may be one that counters the meta rather than the actual meta.
Yesterday i decided to test it vs my guildie who is a Warrior main forever, even in S1 and S2. Whereas i didnt touch Warrior in S1 and S2. So there is an experience level to take into account here.
I played power GS/Axe/Shield he played the new Condi War setup.
He won more of the duels but i got him to very low on several occasions. The reason i lost was because i failed to land some of my bursts to cleanse the condi and proc AH. While he could simply use LB burst and proc AH. So fault was my skill level.
After a few duels i was definitely getting better at it. I think in the hands of a less rusty warrior player a power GS Axe/Shield war can beat a condi war with relative ease.
I also confirmed my choice of sigils is IMO optimum for this setup. (forgive me if its obvious, im not claiming originality here)
I used Pack runes for the fury and swiftness of course. But i also put the sigil of agility (the one that gives 5 sec of swiftness and 1s of quickness on weapon swap) on the GS (plus hydromancy). This helped to land the Arcing slice BUT more importantly it gives 100% uptime on swiftness in combat which means enemies have a harder time to kite you which is the biggest weakness of melee power war.
On the Axe/Shield set i used Leeching and doom. You hope that the doom can help somewhat with reducing the healing but we know condi war cleanse condi well.
I also tested in unranked and beat an enemy condi war easily. It destroyed enemy necros no problem.
Its definitely more fun to play than condi war BUT i will be honest to say that for team fights the condi war brings more to the table.

I think his beef with them is that they pretty much instagib you if you happen to be low on endurance/already cc’d or without cd’s. Which does happen quite frequently in heated combat. So yeah, understandable frustration, not the only class that can do that however.
Yup Thieves do that much better than DH.
“Buff my main class, nerf everything else. "
Going through Sayain media trapper build which is 90% of the time counter by dps ele ( which Noone runes in rank), mesmer and another class. The arguement about DH not being meta is a joke.
@Spartacus have you considered the fact that DH was broken during S1? And was the almighty counter to melee class during S2? Sayain media trapper build listed 3 counter in 1 vs 1, so I am not following you. Revs are weak compared to S1 and S2 but they are still meta… Necros are weaker compare to S2 but they are still meta Ele are weaker compared to S1 and 2 but they are still meta. Druids are weaker than the bunker S1 or S2 druids but they are still meta .. mesmer are weaker than S1 and S2 mesmer and yet they are still meta.
Sure im gonna accept your assertion that DH is meta and ignore a Pro League team members ranking (and pretty much every other pro league’s view of DH)
The only thing DH counters well are Thieves.
Merc amulet removal from Mesmers and Necros means DH could do more damage to them now but the amount of projectile hate is still out there and True shot is 20% weaker. The buffs to LB 3 skill is a joke since you have to be literally asleep not to be able to side step that skill.
The rise of the condi warrior is the death knell for DH. War has better sustain, has projectile reflect, better condi cleanse and more on point pressure than a DH could ever have. I very much doubt any pro league team will run a DH this season unless its to troll. There are 5 better classes out there.
“Buff my main class, nerf everything else. "
Premades should not be fighting pick up groups and honestly what is with allowing multiple of the same class in a match, I’m talking about 3 theives or 3 guards. Oh and while I’m ranting fix that joke of a profession you call Dragonhunter before I blow a censored gasket. That class puts in minimum effort and gets max results and all they have to do is immob you and place traps
LOL are you serious? I’ve never used this term on this forum but this post deserves it.
L2P !!!
DH has had constant nerfs since Season 1. They are beyond weak now and classified as trash tier by one Pro League team (posted on Reddit)
Widely recognised by the pvp population as great for stomping noobs. So if you are losing to one have a guess what that means.
“Buff my main class, nerf everything else. "
9 out of 9 class are meta, I can’t think of a class which isn’t.
Dragonhunters say HI.
Meta or competitive? Trapper dragon hunter are viable as it get, I seriously don’t get how DH sucks.
Look above you said META. Its not meta in anyone’s definition of the term.
Viable is not the same as meta.
It’s meta to me and to every player who use it in PL. I get that it ni longer broken but classes don’t have to be broken to be meta.
I played DH in S1 and S2. Its laughably weak now. It used to be something to worry about esp if two on enemy team. Now you can almost ignore them.
Oh and every team that used a DH in pro league lost.

What needs a nerf imo isnt AH, if you nerf AH, you nerf all of warrior pretty much, and power warrior is in no need of a nerf, especially vanilla.
ANET is not balancing this game around Vanilla specs. Acceptance of this fact is the first step towards recovery.
“Buff my main class, nerf everything else. "
I’ve had a very successful start with the LB&mace/shield build, ~90% winrate in unranked (solo queue) and pretty easy 1vs1s against most classes, but even before merc amulet was removed it somehow started to not work so well anymore. In season 3 now I find it much easier to win matches and 1vs1s with the GS&axe/shield berserker build.
Has anyone noticed this as well? Have other classes adjusted to counter the LB&mace/shield build?
I mentioned in my post above that i feel the GS Axe/Shield demolisher amulet (berserker) build will be a good counter to the current condi war build.
For eg. who do you think will win in a 1v1? This build vs a Power GS Axe/Shield War . The power war has the same trait setup so has great condi clear and resistance uptime BUT can do a huge amount of power damage against you while negating most of your damage. It’s the metabattle build and it’s ridiculously easy to counter. Most run CI and smash brawler, so berserker is up quite a bit. I can literally stand from range on Druid and just AA them to death, the people dying are the ones trying to go toe to toe up close with lack of condi clear.
I
I capped Far on legacy map and enemy druid tried to take it back using your strategy by staying at range. I just Line of Sight him and giggled, since my team now owned enemy far point and our home . That druid was fruitlessly trying to hit me and it was 4v4 at mid. When he finally decided he had to come onto the point to decap i killed him.

I use leeching/Hydro on GS same as lucadiro.4519
On Hammer i would actually put Sigil of Agility (for the quickness/swiftness) and the new Sigil of Draining (for the interrupt life steal/leeching)
I dont use hammer anymore, im using GS Axe/Shield.
“Buff my main class, nerf everything else. "
Men, Hammer is still pretty OP if u ask me. I reaaly think with the added energy cost on top of CD for phase travel in shiro makes that stance pretty broken/useless now. Anyone have any good pointers towards a condition build for WvW.
You could go Glint/Mallyx with staff , mace/axe for WvW. use the build on metabattle but change the legend to glint and staff instead of sword/shield
“Buff my main class, nerf everything else. "
Come back system and class achievement are plain stupid mechanics.
If you lost 2 games already and are behind in score, you’re incentivised to AFK, since next win will be 2points. Espcially in lower tiers when you are at the start of a tier and can’t lose tiers.
And playing a diff class just for achievements hurts your team mates if you dont know how to play it well.
“Buff my main class, nerf everything else. "
Reminds me of when DH traps first came out and every panicked and QQ. Condi war is strong no doubt but its also new to a lot of people. Give it a week and other classes will learn how to counter it or adjust their builds accordingly (as mentioned by a player above)
And the person who said berserker stance had a short cd (LOL). It is and always has been for ages 60 seconds.
A message for ANET. If you ever do decide to nerf war pls for heavens sake dont touch the other traits. The only thing that made warriors strong was the new Adrenal Health. (and the fact other classes were nerfed). So if you do nerf something, give AH a shave BUT ONLY after you let the meta settle for a little while. Dont fall for all the QQ whiners who refuse to adjust their builds.
For anyone who thinks im defending my class. I played DH, Scrapper and Rev in S1 and S2. I will be adding War to my rotation but its not my only class.
“Buff my main class, nerf everything else. "
PS dont CC them. It gives them toughness and healing. But soft cc/cripple and chill = really effective
With the buff to Adrenal Health, as well as all the conditions lurking around, it’s probable that most warriors now prefer Cleansing Ire to Rousing Resilience. Heavy CC might not be a bad option: few stun breakers (Endure Pain, Headbutt, possibly Savage Instinct), and no stability outside of Berserker mode (Eternal Champion).
Kite them as needed, have them use their two stances, beware the hard CC (mace, shield, headbutt) and the berserker mode (for the mace burst).
I doubt anyone is going to be taking Rousing Resilience. Cleansing Ire is just too good.
Nope, the best condi warr use RR. So, he is basically a tank and does condi dmg on top of that. Just image someone with outrage (10 sec( + RR (2.5k hp and 1000 toughness every 8 sec). So, you can go full viper with any condi build without hurting your defense.
Sure and leave yourself with no condi clear….oookk.
And no, brawlers recovery won’t save you with all these condis flying around.
The meta build is and will be with CI. (longbow)

CI is only good with longbow, actually I’d say very useful with longbow, for everything else you’re better off with RR
Sorry thats what i meant. The current (assumed) meta for warrior is Condi Longbow mace/shield build and for that Cleansing Ire is the clear winner.
For power war i would agree its not such a clear winner but still IMO the better choice than Rousing Resilience.

i prefer blow out games where my team steam rolls and rekt the other.
easy plus one pip.
I am the complete opposite. Since i actually want fun enjoyable games and don’t give a flying %$#@ about the legendary backpiece. (in that the backpiece is not the number 1,2 or 3 reason for me to play sPvP)
So for me, winning blow out games is boring and not a means to an end. I’d rather have fun exciting matches where you have to play your best to clinch that win. Ive lost my fair share of close games in past and yes it hurts but they were fun none the less.

I didnt play yesterday so cant say how its going and pre S3 in unranked i played the Sw/T M/Sh Merc build and sometimes the LB M/Sh Merc build.
“Buff my main class, nerf everything else. "
The warrior changes weren’t introduced with season 3, revenant didn’t get any buffs season 3 and the meta build has already used wanderers and mercenary.
So what’s your point?
Some people used Wanderers pre S3 but i suspect most used mercenary since its clearly a better amulet.
The matches done in unranked between S2 and S3 are relatively meaningless in that merc amulet gave more pressure and most players dint take unranked seriously?
Revs got nerfed but with the removal of merc amulet they will be deadly against necro and mes. Vs condi war i dont see how its any diff to facing condi necros and condi mesmers in S2.
Not wanting to start an argument here. I actually like playing war and it was my fav pvp class pre HOT, but i dont really know what makes it that much better vs rev than a condi mes or condi necro was in S2.
“Buff my main class, nerf everything else. "
Configs were wonky for the first 30 minutes of the season in case some people here played during that period.
This is why you should never be an early adopter.
Exactly. I never play the first day of the season, just like i never buy the first version of a new Electronic Device. I’ll let the early adopters be the guinea pigs and read about it on here.
“Buff my main class, nerf everything else. "
When I say ‘The current’ I’m obviously not reffering to season 2, am I?
Well considering you posted when S3 had barely started i think its a little too early to make a summary judgement. People need to get used to the changes. Merc amulet gone, rev nerfs, other class nerfs, thief buffs, war buffs.
It will take more than 2 hours of S3 to decide that.
“Buff my main class, nerf everything else. "
You guys didn’t get the memo? Resistance is supposed to be Rev’s thing, guess who can stack it to almost perma resistance and have the greatest heal over time in the game. Reroll to that profession…
LOL yeah funny how many warriors rerolled Rev and now may go back to war.
“Buff my main class, nerf everything else. "
The current condition meta build can pretty much faceroll every revenant even with wanderers. Doesn’t really matter if the rev is invocation or retribution.
Not true, Season 2 i did fine as Power Rev. It had enough burst to take someone down quick with invocation . Not so sure now in S3.

“Buff my main class, nerf everything else. "
Balance goals for all Seasons so far has been how to make Guardians weaker. It gets harder and harder to keep nerfing guardians since soon they will have to change the skills to the point where if a guardian uses a skill, it actually does damage to his team mates and buffs enemies.
“Buff my main class, nerf everything else. "
So despite the mountains of feedback, S3 will still be a PVE style Grind Fest with no allowances for division drops. People who play enough games will eventually get to ruby, making it that mess of a division it was last season.

I also hoped for retribtion change to be honest. A full passive traitline and especally the taunt trait is just super dumb.
Good changes overall tho which will bring thief close and closer which is defintly a good thing.
Serious question. Does any decent Rev even use Retribution anymore? I switched to Invocation a little while ago and never went back. Much higher burst and if i feel nervous i can always take paladin amulet, but much prefer marauder amulet.

Season 1 would have been closer:
6 – 7
6 – 5
5 – 5
5 – 4
4 – 4Your season 2 example is accurate, though could be closer in some circumstances.
Season 3 will be like a sorted version of season 1:
4 – 5
4 – 5
4 – 6
5 – 6
5 – 7
So as it appeared in the notes. One team will be favored (like S2) but not as much as it was before, allowing for closer matches. While still giving enough advantage to one side to help them move ahead.
