The pull is not dodge-able at all. Edit again: None of the pulls are block-able.

Then it must be bugging out for me A LOT since i’ve had spear of justice pull fail for me MANY times. (when i was the DH) I assumed it was stability. And i mean many many times.

The more you implement these coverups and lazy fixes, the less incentive they have to actually do their jobs and balance.

ANET is trying to make GW2 an Esport. If thats not enough incentive for them to balance the game, i don’t know what is..

It is worth testing however, I know that the pull is not able to be evaded. And the initial tether is unblock-able. The cast time is also a little bit too fast for a projectile of its range.

You can’t dodge the pull but stability will prevent the pull.

Invocation vs Retribution

Hi all

I used to run Retribution and then switched to Invocation for more damage. I mostly SoloQ (or duo) and what i have noticed of course is that it’s really difficult to stomp with invocation (since no stability).

This is not a problem in team fights since someone else can stomp or we can just cleave. However a few times i’ve had some 1v1 and have downed the enemy. But couldn’t stomp in time before one of his teammates shows up to CC me or Rez the guy before i could stomp.

Now i could go to Retribution but then my DPS is lower and maybe i will not be able to down the guy in the first place.

What do you Invocation guys do to help secure the kill when you down someone?

Class Stacking in sPvP

When facing class stacking it’s nice when your team doesn’t mind swapping to counters, but when they refuse (normally because of “it’s my only class” or “daily quest”) it’s just rough.

Last season I remember facing a multiple minion necro troll team from some guild. Tell you what, Sarah Kerrigan has nothing on those guys.

Daily “class” quest achievements should be removed. That daily coupled with some classes being way under powered is one of the reasons for stupidly stacked matches.

Players should pvp to get better and enjoy the pvp system , we have already enough rewards, if u want pve stuff or gold then go pve.
Pvp should focus on pvp .
But thats just my opinion.

That’s precisely why we need more tracks. So we don’t have to distract ourselves with PvE when we want some nice looking gear.

Why did you even voice your opinion? I’m really asking. This change wouldn’t take anything away from, you could ignore the whole thing. What does it matter to you if other people get something they want?

Some people like me want to spend a lot of their time in PvP but would also like some of the other gear/skins etc. Plus maybe jump into wvw for some roaming. If i (and others like me) have to take time away doing pve farming that actually will make pvp population lower and increase Q times for “hardcore” pvp players like yourself.

Giving us reward tracks doesnt take anything from you and will not bring “PVE” players into PvP to spoil your games like a certain pvp exclusive legendary backpiece did cough.

DH is a very good class for beginners and still nice in intermidiate game. It looses if the oponent knows how to play against them and is able to master his own class.

DH was decent in the lower tiers in Season 2, but with the True Shot nerf they are a lot less useful now. The buff to LB 3 (as compensation for the 20% nerf to True Shot) is a joke since a 90 year old with one leg could side step that shot, its so slow. So buffing it didnt really accomplish anything.

all four stats are fine.
all four stats with both 560 vitality and toughness are fine.

the problem lies with the abundance of defensive abilities, not the stats from the amulets.

If you remove vitality and/or toughness stats in amulets we will just be back in the burst meta again where the person who lands his skills first wins. (Welcome back Thieves and other stealth burst classes)

And to the guy who said precision without ferocity is useless. Sorry but you lost a lot of credibility there. So many on crit traits and sigils plus base fereoity gives 150% crit damage so 50% extra damage is useless?

Guardian WvW Roaming/Solo Builds?

its kinda tough solo roaming. If you want go DH, then the most common one is longbow/GS which you dont want. So then there is the PvP version that you can use in WvW LB Sword./Focus. You almost have to take Traveller Runes for the speed boost.

I dont roam on my guard anymore so maybe someone here with more exp can post theirs.

Create More Build Diversity

Ok. Amulets and stats do not equate to build diversity we have enough amulets for diversity.

Tell that to Guardians who would love to have some more vitality stat flexibility. I could make so many more builds i would rather play if i could have some more vitality. It is almost impossible for a guardian to play PvP without an amulet with vitality stat. Sure you can try zerker but you are one shotted.

I agree it should be limited to max 2 of any particular class. It will cause longer queue times but i would accept that.

If pro leagues acknowledge class stacking causes problems then they should ban/prevent it in Ranked Q when S3 starts.

Create More Build Diversity

ANET, Please split amulet stats so that we can choose Weapons/Armor/Accessories instead of just one amulet. So we get to select a stat combo for Weapon, another choice for Armor and another choice for Amulet.

Saying that its done so that its easier for new players is just insulting players intelligence.

We can mix stats just fine in PvE and WvW. Im sure we will survive in PvP also.

With the reduction in CD on save yourselves to 50sec (40 sec with Pure of Voice), you can now drop one of your shouts and replace it with Contemplation of Purity which is also on 40sec CD (untraited of course). So now you can use Save Yourselves without worrying about condis. Simply use Contemplation of Purity if you think you are overloaded with condi and now you have a Billion boons.

Yeah our way of dealing with condi was dodging it, but now that shiro and energy sigils are nerfed its mallyx or die

I played Mallyx last season for a while and it did quite well even with the OP necros. With the necro nerf now it should do better against them.

I switched to Power Rev now just to learn it better.

As mentioned above put Sigil of Generosity on one weapon set and a Sigil of Purity on the other weapon set. Use Hoelbrak or Meladru or Leadership runes. With invocation swap legends often to clear one condi.

With the above setup ive actually had top scorer for Conditions removed from Self several times which is kinda crazy really.

But since they buffed retreat, you can get near permaswiftness in Open World. That was sorta nice and you don’t have to take staff or crappy runes any more.

^This. Im loving the new Retreat cooldown. I dont need my sigil of speed anymore. I was fine with killing the odd ambient creature for the sigil proc but now i dont need that.

Because for PvP last season i played Scrapper, DH and Rev for my achievements.

I expect to play Scrapper, Rev and Warrior for Season 3. Not DH,

However for open world HOT maps i still like playing my DH

I dont do dungeons, fractals or raids on any toon.

I don’t remember them ever having a true pvp/pve split and i’ve played since release.

I remember them having full sets of pvp armor, but never a true split between skills like guild wars one had. Arena net has proven that the way they handle things, this just isn’t sustainable unless they split it. Because otherwise you end up with way underpowered/ overpowered classes.

Look at ele, it’s a god. Unkillable in pvp and almost twice the damage of any other class in pve.

Revenant, slaughters people in pvp, But is almost completely unviable for high end content in pve. This is a joke of a balance.

I know skills had different effects in pvp vs pve. For eg retaliation is weaker. Guardian Dodge roll healed for different amounts in pvp vs pve (i think they normalized it recently)

They have PvP/PvE balance split in GW1 there’s no reason it can’t be done here as well.

The had PvP/PvE split in GW2 also but got rid of it a while ago. Presumably to make it easier for the developers.

On Interrupt Sigils

Using an on interrupt sigil requires timing , something one does not have to worry about on on swap on hit or on crit sigils.

Can someone please explain to me how having a sigil of air go off every 3 seconds just because one git a crit is more skillful then a sigil that goes off when one gets an interrupt?

I use geomancy in a condition build that fires without fail every time I swap weapons for AOE bleed. How is that skillful gameplay when comparing to stealing a boon on interrupt?

I would really like to hear the points of others as to why they feel the sigils that currently exist such as force is about skill. As far as I know you slap it on and get 5 percent more damage.

OK lets see how “hard” it is to interrupt someone because you know its sooooo difficult.

A Dragon Hunter with “Piercing Light” trait (traps Daze) means he has a 240 radius AOE Interrupt. So hard. LOL

A Scrapper with “Final Salvo” trait interupts on its gyros. Plus of course the leaps on Lightning Field. So hard im sure.

Requires so much timing skill?

Guardians Falling Behind Fast

Our miserably low health pool has always been bad but at least in the days of a Power Meta we could use our blocks and active defenses. In this condi meta our low HP is deadly. Plus with all the unblockable attacks out there our guardian blocks are almost useless.

Solo Q - Revenants or Scrapper

I would like to ask the forum’s opinion on what class they think is most beneficial to the team when pugging solo q.

Which class “carries” harder.

Assumptions
1. Average skill level of Power Rev and Scrapper (both playing the meta build as of season 2)
2. Entire team (enemy and yours) is comprised of solo q players.

I have played both in Season 2 (i admit im a better scrapper than i am rev) and that probably skews my perception but i feel that i help the team a lot more when im on my scrapper regardless of my team composition, whereas on my Rev i am more effective if i have the right team comp.

HOTS Healway Guardian

I liked the Healway idea but i started GW2 just after they nerfed the build (via the rune mixing not being possible anymore) and also retaliation nerf in pvp/wvw and also all the boon stripping, boon hate that has infested the game.

It is possible to get boon duration now via wanderer armor/weapons etc but the old idea of using, perma Regen/Retaliation/Boon spam is not really feasibile in my opinion. I wish it was.

If anyone does have a build i would be interested also.

I did mess around with a build just last week mixing Soldiers and Cleric Gear and using Zeal/Honor/Dragonhunter trait lines for HoT open world Solo farming and it works really well. (using Great sword, Mace/Focus) I guess for WvW you would drop Zeal for Virtues but not sure you could do enough damage to kill people with it and of course the boon spam/hate is bad.

I would replace the soldiers gear with wanderer’s gear if you can since its much better than soldiers for a boon build.

Unranked matchmaking, is it so bad?

Generally my matches in unranked haven’t been bad but yesterday had one where we lost the mid fight and within a couple minutes i had 2 team mates AFK in base for the rest of the match.

because of the unranked nature some people will just give up to easily since there are no pips to lose.

Leveling rev, does it get better?

Leveling Revenant is no different than any other plate class. The whole “Revenant without Herald stuff” is mostly bs…people just use it to abuse getting loads of boons out of combat (mainly Swiftness for travel speed and Might for dps).

It may be mostly BS to you but remember opinions are like A holes. Everyone has one. Rev without herald is boring is my opinion. It being BS is yours.

How can it possibly be boring? Glint is virtually the most passive legend Rev has?

If fun to you means passively gaining boons, I don’t know what to tell you.

Lol like the other REV trait lines and in fact every other class out there doesn’t have passive skills/procs everywhere.

Anyway like i said everyone is different and entitled to their opinions.

Am I crazy to prefer Cleansing Ire a lot of the time? RR is great but the classes I have trouble with are not dealing direct damage. I equip RR if the other team has double power Revs but beyond that I’m liking Cleansing Ire.

You’re not crazy. I prefer Cleansing Ire as well on my war build. Very few situations where i will use RR.

rev will be left as a bruiser. that’s what it should have been from the start based on its skillset.

Bruiser with 0 condi removal? Why i would pick up a mediocre bruiser that explodes to anyone with condi when i can take thief/guard/war instead at this point?

Exactly! Why would anyone take a rev if its DPS is reduced to bruiser level? Take a Scrapper/War instead.

Can swap the sigil of smoldering in torch to anything else you prefer but i like the other 3 sigils as they are.

Also i sometimes run Krait runes instead of Balthazar.

Lastly i tend to prefer Dogged March to Shield Master but depends on the enemy team comp. If mostly power based or with DH/Rangers then go for shield master, Otherwise i like Dogged March since its been buffed to give 6 Sec of Regen instead of 4 sec pre patch.

Ill save the forums the balance QQ. I wanted to say bravo to the dev team for some precision on the nerfs to rev and mes. Despite my absolute detest for these two classes (Necro main since launch) I am glad the team decided to shave and not sledge their knee-caps out from under them. Hopefully we see some more shaves in general to all classes, all around. I would prefer slow little balance tweaks to everything, all around moving into the next season.

+1. Small balances on a monthly or bi-weekly basis would be ideal.

This patch is actually amazing. I mean the patch content is ok, but the real deal is implementing balance changes that isn’t tied to a 6 month huge game overhaul patch! The last balance patch was April 19. Today is May 3. That’s less than a month! This is a huge breakthrough for Arenanet!

I agree. Doing small “shaves/nerfs/buffs” more regularly is WAAAAAYYY better than swinging the nerf bat every 3 months and destroying classes or over buffing some.

Doing this on a monthly or bi-weekly basis would do wonders towards balancing the game. A 2sec cd increase here, a 10% damage nerf there. Small stuff like that and see how it goes.

Don’t you think the MaceShield/Bow-Build needs some more stability? It has only the 2 seconds from Shattering Blow (not enough for stomping) and 3 stun breaks, but on relatively long cooldowns.

How about changing King of Fires for Eternal Champion or Dolyak signet for Endure Pain?

I prefer Eternal Champion on my sPvP builds

Staff 5 – unavoidable evading multi-stab-ripping gap closer now deals 5k dmg instead of 6.

You do realise that Staff 5 can’t take more than one stability stack off any more right?

Fix Chronomancer For The Sake Of Community

Chrono has a few overperforming skills due to F5 interactions with stuff like Moa and Signet of Illusions that have a big impact on sPvP so are likely to be addressed with the next balance round or possibly sooner. I think that will solve much of what upsets people currently.

Problem is the Moa and CS/Elite split suggestions were mentioned weeks ago (often and loudly) and ANET did nothing, so not sure what the chances are of them doing anything before season 3.
