When enough players realise with the S1 style Match Making trying to give you even matches, then tanking your MMR to get easier opponents and win streaking afterwards will encourage players to throw games in soloq. Then teaming up in a premade to stomp others.
It wont matter if you are a good player, In solo Q you could easily get one team mate who will be planning to AFK to lower his/her MMR, thereby screwing you over.
If this hasnt happened to you yet in soloq….give it time it will unless ANET does something to prevent it.
Human Nature is shaped by the rules and incentives put in place. We saw it with MMR smurfing, we saw it when people would farm stronghold for fast easy pip generation and we saw it with MMR tanking in prev seasons. We will see it again.

Unfortunately by moving back to Season 1 match making players are rewarded for MMR tanking then win streaking to next tier. If you solo Q you are well and truly kittened. You will undoutedly have at least 1 team mate who is at the start of a tier and is looking to lose the match.

To further elaborate what I meant, it would seem most practical to have the rewards work such that:
- Top 4 highest MMR players in a match should get +2 for a win, -1 for a loss.
- Bottom 4 MMR should get +1 for a win, -2 for a loss.
- The middles of course +1 -1
This would move players based on their MMR, and if pips follow MMR, then matching based on pips should result in more balanced matches. That means there won’t be as much of a need for 1 or 2 players to have to “carry” a team every game.
As it stands, there doesn’t seem to be any progression differentiation between a pro-league player and a level 20 complete newb.
The problem i see with this is that with the artificial floors we have in Emerald/Sapphire and Tier 1 Ruby. You will truly get MMR hell since the system will pick from a pip range and if you have the lowest MMR in your pip range you will be forced to grind your way up. Each loss moving your MMR lower and causing you to lose 2pips. If at the start of the tier you will not lose more pips but your MMR will keep getting lower.
I thought what you meant was your MMR should get adjusted by how your MMR relates to the average of the enemy team. Not sure exactly how its done right now.

Yawn….pretty much any class stacked is OP. Take 5 power revs with their amazing bursts. Take 5 necros and their unblockable marks. Take 5 Condi wars with 5 primal Mace bursts to the face. 5 Scrapper and their multiple lightning fields and super fast rezzing and stealth.

I would like an amulet with following stats
Power 1050
Condition Damage 1050
Vitality 560
Precision 560
It cant be considered too tanky since it only has vitality. No toughness like Mercenary amulet and no healing power. But would be fun for hybrid builds.

Pve: bad unless enemy moves a lot for more torment damage
Pvp: i think its okay. maybe not as good as power but handles enemy conditions infinitely better than its power version.
wvw: bad. you really feel the lack of mobility . Still great for duels though.He is basically saying it is bad. In pvp it isnt worth taking because glint heal makes not having an escape manageable which you dont get unless you want to sabotage yourself and go no mobility with glint mallyx.
Im guessing you are asking to decide on your gear. i would suggest you dont stat for condi. Just play glint shiro like everyone else. you are free to experiment but everything has been tried already and nothing else works no where near as well as shiro glint despite its cleansing issues.
I know one player who 100% solo q to legend last season with Glint/Mallyx Rev.
i know one player who solo’d with power warrior before the buffs. Doesnt mean it was a good build at that time does it?
Well if he 100% solo q all the way to legend then it means either hes a fantastic ESL pro level player or the build carried well. Or some combination of both.
If that player truly went to legend solo q before the Adrenal Health buff then he really does deserve it.

Ive been playing power war with that exact same trait setup (pretty standard for both power and condi zerker builds). Didnt think to try it with destroyer amulet and mace. I was using demolisher and axe.

I agree that there should be a mechanism in place to encourage playing. If you lose 500/400+ loser doesnt lose pips. Winner still gets 1pip.

I should be facing legendary players in legendary and not in amber.
All that was added today is pretty much a huge reward track. I actually wanted to put some time into this season and go for legendary because the games been quite fun recently but guess i am gonna pass now.
Perhaps you will be able to come up with a proper system next season arena net … i have my doubts.
Actually with the proposed system you should be getting “legendary” players from the start since you will going up against players around your MMR in your pip range. So if you were legend last season then you will be starting S4 in the same div as those legend players and if your MMR is “legend material” then your very first match should be up against those legendary level players.

So correct me if im wrong but what i get from this is….
1. MMR tanking is gonna be EVERYWHERE
2. Get in a premade team to avoid the Tankers.
3. if you dont care for wings or already have them and can be in a premade then matches will actually be close and fun.
@Gaile. So basically we gonna see people tank at the start of every tier. They then get matched against lower MMR players. Get their comeback bonus pips and then win streak to next tier. Rinse and repeat all the way to Ruby.
Summary: If you are a solo queuer you are doomed to come across MMR tankers.

LOL at anyone who thinks PVP (not wvw) builds are “secret”. The June 2015 patch dumbed down build crafting so much that most builds can be determined very easily. The only variety left in the game is WvW where you can mix and match armor/weapons and use different runes/food/sigils etc that are not available in pvp.

Yes, after removing the Cleric amulet in attempt to reduce sustain from bunker builds in PvP, I’m sure they’ll replace it with the only amulet that’s even stronger for sustain builds than Cleric. That would totally make sense.

The OP has a post history of 3 including this one. His previous post was how he was able to 1 shot EVERY single class in WvW while playing a D/P thief. Today his focus is DH.

PadreNike.1803 posted a while back a video of him playing condition rev using Mallyx/Glint using Sword/Shield and Mace/Axe. With viper/sinister armor/weapons. This greatly improved his mobility and sustain.

the reason is because they got buffs/changes on weapons like scepter and mace that generally were not used in pvp so people want to see how they are. Also Sword was improved (well the 4 year old bugs/annoying stuff was fixed) so its understandable that players want to see how they are now. Guardian is actually fun now since there seems to actually be a varierty of builds that are interesting/fun at the moment.

For Solo Roaming i think Defender runes are way better than Durability. Durability runes really shine when in a group and you can share those boons.
I have an exotic berserker set with defender runes, it’s really good, especially on GS+Mace/Shield.
However, there are many builds which do not include blocks, such as GS/Rifle, GS/Hammer or GS/Bow. In such builds, the only block would be the aegis-on-heal, and I’m not sure this creates enough value from the rune set, compared to other rune sets.
Yes i agree. Defender runes are best on Mace/Shield setup as i wrote above. Put a sigil of draining on the Mace and you have ridiculously high sustain that really shouldnt be allowed. lol

adding more restrictions will further remove ESL games from the reality of what we see in ranked. Class stacking should be removed from ranked as well but its harder to program or at least thats what it seems since it will have to also mean no char swapping when map loads.

Hi,
I play on a MAC and whenever i try and enter GEM Store tab (regular TP works fine), 90% of the time it freezes with the whirling circle continuing to spin. I have raised over a dozen tickets in the last year and i have never recieved a reply from customer support. I have sent screenshots with every ticket.
The only reason i never posted on here before is because occasionally it will work and i will hurry and buy what i wanted to buy and then it wouldnt work again for weeks after.
Please can someone look into why this is happening.
P.S ive tried deleting cache and redownloading the game but no luck.

Just make it so that the boons are only given to the wearer and not AOE and suddenly the rune is not OP anymore. Or make it like the Engineers Elixir
Eg,
25% chance when struck to give wearer Protection, Regen and Resistance. Give allies ONE (random) of the above boons.

June 2015 Patches did killed Builds viabilities and varieties. Even if Colin said they will not. With false promise like Elite spec will be on par with Core spec. And working on removal of options while they should had work to give us MORE.
I feel I play a LAME game compare to Gw2 CORE before June patch.

Id rather they remove the June 2015 patch where the completely revamped the way traits were chosen. Build variety thrown out of the window.
I dont support the removal of HOT. It would be a bad marketing move on ANETs part. Its a LOSE/LOSE for them.
If people end up liking Non HOT better it could impact sales and cause people to request non HOT arenas.
If people hate it then it will just prove beyond any doubt (for that one person out there that still believes in ANETs original message that Elite specs are not an upgrade but another way to play) that you must buy HOT to be competitve.

(someone chose Temple map, unranked). One of my team presumably must have been annoyed that it wasnt Capricorn and DC’ed. So it was 4v5 from the start. We won 500/200. How about that for matchmaking?

But it is worse when there is condition class stacking. You can’t cleanse it all.
Lolwhat? As it was said earlier every clas has at least 1 cleans so 10 burn stacks is neutralized by 1 cleanse and same will be every 20-30 sec with all dat combowombo burn burst.
Find me the condi cleanse for Rev.
Condi Rev has crazy amounts of Resistance
Power Rev with Invocation has Condi clear on legend swap and if using metabuild then Leadership runes clears condis on Elite use. I also use Generosity Sigil on sword and Purity sigil on Staff. Staff 4 also removes 2 condis. Thats enough condi clear for me to deal with most classes. At least long enough to kill them.

i tried a variation of this last night its not bad actually. In the end however, i went back to standard Meditrapper because i just wanted to burst people down faster. I have a bunker build for pure support. Will have to try some more to see if its viable as a bruiser in ranked.

Theres nothing wrong with the idea. The ability to create a team with pugs is fine..I used to have to whisper team mates if they wanted to join but you def want to have the ability to immediately click no if you dont want to and then exit the match. if im in a Duo team and dont want to join up i should be allowed to just quit the match.

I like how people are complaining how they have to wait an extra 15 seconds to leave a match…when most of the time people are forced to wait an extra 60 seconds for that last 1-4 people to ready up at the match’s start (who never do).
Because that extra 15s is easily fixed by a simple code change. The extra 1min during ready up is not.

Why don’t we relax a bit?
I think the main traps people have an issue with are the elite and the whirling one. Combined together, they can seriously hurt you if you don’t have a block or stability…
Just give it time. Builds/people will adjust… Like I’ve had to, season after season…
and those are the 2 traps that any guard worth half a kitten would never bring because it is so utterly useless against even above average players.

Any decent DH is not even using those traps. Only traps that get used in “better” level play (note i said better, not even legend level) are Test of Faith and Purification.
if they are using Procession of Blades and Dragons Maw and people are dying to it, then its def a L2P issue. Dragons Maw is such a slow trap its almost impossible to GET caught in it.
