1. The RNG starts from 0 each time: players would start to see patterns emerging in their loot drops, patterns that repeat every time they log in if they if they go to the same areas each time.
Well this does exist, but as I said DR is sporadic and unpredictable at best (DR being the droprate reduction which GW2 employs).
You can see the pattern if you do any event. I have logged on, instantly gone to do the melandru event and for the first couple of minutes you get a couple yellows and green… 8-9 out of 10 items being something other than greys. Then shortly after it start to go blue and then a few minutes later after that – right about the time the defense event start it will just cut right out – spikes, greys and nearly nothing else. Just grey kitten and maybe 1 out of 10 things being the “rare” blue. That’s really heavy handed and noticable DR.
If you dont see this… Congrats you got a lucky account, lol.
That’s not what I meant. I mean you’d get the same blue, followed by the same green, etc. Not a general pattern of x blues and y green in the first 10 drops, but the exact same drops in the exact same order.
It’s a random guess, but probably, the seed value is simply the 4 digits that comes after your account name.
I guess my account is one of the “worst luck” account. I’m always playing with someone who has arround the same playtime as me arround 2 years.
He gots 2 precursors, 5 ascended boxes
I got 0 precursor, 0 ascended box…
I go to Lion’s Arch someone said I looted 7 precursors on mob
I go to Lion’s Arch someone said X guys got 2 precursors at mystic forge in 10 minutes
I go to Lion’s Arch someone said I have a tab full of ascended boxes..
What a sad account I have…
The idea that a random number generator requires a seed causes different accounts to have a fixed lucky or unlucky state really doesn’t make sense. If you start the same random number generator with the same seed and make the same sequence of rolls, you will always get the same results. Typically, RNG is seeded using the current date and time to ensure you always get a sequence you haven’t seen before. If each account has a personalised seed, you’d probably see one of two effects:
1. The RNG starts from 0 each time: players would start to see patterns emerging in their loot drops, patterns that repeat every time they log in if they if they go to the same areas each time.
2. The RNG starts from where it left off last time: veteran players would start to see lag before their first loot drop, lag that will get worse over time, as the RNG has to repeat and discard all the rolls it has previously made for that account.
No-one seems to be reporting either of these situtations, so personalised RNG seems unlikely.
A far simpler and more sensible way to implement it is a single server-based RNG that everyone uses, and it gets seeded on startup with the current date and time so that each time the servers are reset, it starts a new sequence no-one has seen before.
In other words, we’re all rolling with the same dice, and if they’re loaded, they’re loaded the same for all of us.
Iam8bit have official merchandise on their site, which I think was only introduced late last year:
The cap isn’t just for dailies – it’s the sum of dailies and monthlies. If you’ve got 12,851 from dailies, I’m guessing you also have 2,149 from monthlies, for a total of 15,000?
4 for the current back piece. However, it was recently confirmed that although there will be a new back piece introduced each year, the current one will still be earnable after this year.
The pods is Dragon’s Stand are not the only way to get spirit shards. They can drop from anything which gives you loot and as far as I’m aware there’s no specific content that drops them more frequently that anything else. All you can do to farm them is do anything that can give you loot.
You may be getting more than you realise – because they don’t appear as an item in your inventory and go straight into your wallet instead, it’s quite easy to not notice them dropping.
You only gain mastery experience at level 80.
You can try raising a support ticket.
If that fails (or you don’t want to wait) Hobbs in Lion’s Arch sells duplicates of the collection reward for 10,000 karma.
I like the HoT story. I prefer how LS1 and LS2 rolled out, where we got updates every few weeks. Apparently, ANet is changing that to one major update every quarter (with smaller updates every 3-5 weeks).
If you mean living story for these updates, Colin has already debunked this on reddit – LS will run as normal between the major quarterly updates.

Try levelling to 11 (when you get your first hero points and unlock the first utility slot) because until then you can’t change skills.
No idea what would have removed your heal in the first place, though.
This reddit post may be of interest to anyone who hasn’t yet found the dune soarer:
ANet mattpMy changes went out, I just didn’t get the notes in early enough to be part of the main patch notes. They should get posted soon.
The summary is that we moved the “rare bosses” in dry top to a cycle where one of them spawns during each dust storm, in a set cycle.
There is an NPC in Lion’s Arch you can speak to if you haven’t received birthday presents:
Keep trying – you can get it on an organised map, you just need to be a little eagle-eyed and lucky. I managed it recently, although it took me about three weeks of 1-2 attempts per day. Just as you get Tequatl down to 75% health and start the first defence phase, a whirlpool may spawn, and standing at the edge of melee range by Tequatl’s right foot looks to be a good spot for it.
It’s the same 2-hour cycle as Verdant Brink:

Are you using any overlay software? I used to have this happen frequently when using Overwolf, and hasn’t happened since I stopped using it.
For me, it’s a case of setting myself a long-term goal with plenty of variety. I’m working on making every legendary, which needs so many different things that I can play whatever content I feel like on any given day, and yet still feel like I’m making progress without it feeling like I’m grinding.
There was a Reddit post about this the other day: for first few offences, the player gets to choose their new name, but eventually repeat offenders will get assigned a new name.

If you’re looking for a single mastery point by looking at achievements, here’s one you might have missed: Mayatl, the Itzel mastery champion, rewards a mastery point the first time he’s defeated, but for some reason, there’s no achievement listed for it.
It’s not based on chance. You get progress based on your event participation, with gold giving you 50% of the next reward.
A player in the destination instance creates an LFG advertising it as a taxi. Players who want to join that instance of the map use LFG to join the party, then right click on the player who created the LFG and select ‘Join in <map name>’.
A place of power is any hero challenge that you complete by communing with it.
In addition to map bonuses you can drop a level 21 character at a JP chest. There’s a small chance of silver doubloons at that level. I put two alts there and scored about 15 of my doubloons that way.
…then I got fed up and straight bought the rest, b/c I literally had everything else.
The best JP for this is Weyandt’s Revenge – it has 2 chances to drop a doubloon compared to one at other JPs. You certainly can farm a full stack this way, but it takes a lot of patience, as the drop rate means you’ll get roughly one doubloon per week per character.
There’s a dev response here, from the PvP forum:

I believe payments for GW2 show up as ArenaNet, not NCSoft, so it’s more likely to be from one of their other games – if you have an NCSoft account, I’d log in to that and check you don’t have any subscriptions set up for any of the other games.
Payments for GW2 show up as DigitalRiver US Inc for me. If its NCSoft the only game i can think of it being is BnS.
I get DRI*ARENA, but either way, it’s defintely not NCSoft.
It could also be Wildstar – although that’s gone free to play, there is still a subscription for cosmetic bonuses.

The glacial imbued jar is not used in the Frostfang I collection – it uses the 5 jars that you can buy the recipe for: crystal, destroyer, corrupted, evergreen, and vile.
The glacial imbued jar is used in the Frostfang III collection, and won’t unlock until you unlock that collection.
My guild has a similar problem. For some of us, the guild mission panel shows that we’ve already had the trek reward this week, despite not having done any guild missions since last Sunday.
Edit: Never mind, worked out why – we’ve done some PvP missionss with a different guild this week, and they’re in the same slots as the treks.

I liked all the mentors, but I think Tybalt just had a best (or at least most fun) story. He also has one of the best (in my opinion) references in the game – the final instance in the level 40 story (with the apple barrels) is very similar to the scene in Breaking Bad series 1 where Walter first meets Tuco.
Yeah, LFG can be difficult like that, and not every group will welcome non-80s, although that tends to be more a problem with explorable than story. You can either try making your own listing, or find a guild to run with. If you’re EU, give me a shout in game, I tend to run story mode from time to time as I have a few alts that haven’t done them yet.
Have you done the first two dungeon yet? You’re high enough level for story mode on both, and explorable on the first (although you might want some level 80s in your party as some paths can be pretty tough). You should level up at least once on each run.
When it says the recipe is account bound, it means the recipe item can’t be traded to another player, it doesn’t mean that when you consume it, the recipe is learned by every character on your account. All recipe items can only be used to learn the recipe on a single character. If you want it on more than one character, the legendary crafting NPC in Lions Arch that will sell you duplicates for karma.
Do you have more than one stack of sand in your inventory? When you double click on the sand it always consumes from the first stack, and not necessarily the one you clicked on. That’s caused me to think I had an infinite stack in the past.
Assuming it’s 250 again, we can do more than a big chunk – there’s enough already for completely unlocking a second and half of a third.
As for what happened with the first spec, while I see where you’re coming from (I was one of those who wouldn’t use an incomplete elite spec, at least on my main), given the reaction of many players, I wouldn’t be surprised if any new elites are designed to be unlocked quickly so people can use the new specs to play through new content. That’s certainly what I’d prefer and it would make the order in which you unlock the skills and traits a moot point.
How would the Marionette fight become a fractal? We required about 25 players per lane, 5 lanes and fractals are 5 players.
The Marionette is a boss fight, it doesn’t belong to a raid either.
It could work like swamp, dredge or underwater, where there are different paths. You get a defend event in one lane for a period of time, and then depending on the fractal level, you get one of the five boss fights. Something similar could be done to add it as a personal story instance.
6- spliting daily and monthly achivements ( ok this 1 can be very important, i personaly think u must split achivements to twi part 1- daily-monthly achivements and another part actual ingame achivements , i know it might be only me and people who havnt been present from first day who say it but its not true ,upper achivement can be the achivement point u earned by doing things ingame and another point blew it shows daily n monthly- i know people like me never can beat people with 30k achivement but we all know those r literly 80% monthly and daily so if u split those mybe people have chance to challenge high ach people by doing more ingame achivement and actualy gain achivement by doing stuff isntead of gathering some woods and flowers everyday, just make it a 2 part achivement so all will have a chance to challnege and kinda prove they r good)
Actually, anyone who has 30k acheivements can’t have more than than 50% of that from dailies and monthlies – they have a combined cap of 15k (which works out as a little over 4 years of dailies in the current system). Anyone with high AP has probably already reached that cap, so you could catch people with 30k, or at least get reasonably close, provided you stick around long enough.
It means they have 1 commander tagged up.
Ravens are considered psychopomps in some cultures – guides who lead the newly deceased into the afterlife. That would certainly fit with a necromancer.
Marauder can be crafted: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Item_nomenclature#Quadruple_attribute
I got the greatsword hilt from the end chest after killing Mouth of Mordremoth, not from a noxious pod, despite what the collection says.
If you don’t have a Verdant Brink waypoint, do you have access to a guild hall, preferably Lost Precipice? If so, you can get there from the Guild panel, and then run out the front door into the HoT maps. Even though the Lost Precipice entrance is in the NW of VB, coming out there should unlock the waypoint in the east, right by the Silverwastes entrance, which I presume is where you are trying to get to.
Gilded Hollow will also work, you just have further to run as you come out Auric Basin
No, you can only gain levels via tomes in PvP.
You can get hero points via WvW, though. Every time you gain a WvW rank, you get a Proof of Heroics, and you can either trade 1 to unlock a random core hero point, or 10 to unlock a random Maguuma hero point.
I belive the shoulder skin predates guild wars 2, and comes from GW1 concept art for the Chronomancer class from the Utopia campaign that was eventually abandoned in favour of making a new game. Other concept art suggested the campaign would have an Aztec theme, so that might be a place to look for a lore connection. Alternatively, any significance to the shoulder design may have been lost in the cancellation, and they might be nothing more than a nod to the original chronomancer.
Are we sure it’s a new model? There’ve been branded minotaurs about since launch, after all.
That paragraph ends with:
(Special thanks to Sean Hughes for his help on the new Branded species.)
So, there is definitely something new. However, the ravager is not the only new enemy mentioned, so that could refer the new enemies attacking the seige, or the patrolling waves, or any combiation of the three.
I see no mention of 3 months in the link. They have promised a full set of 16 legendary land weapons (I believe that was in the POI where they previewed the first three), but I don’t believe they’ve ever promised any specific timeline for their release other than when they’re ready.
Edit: corrected the number of weapons.

Create a ticket with customer support, they’ll probably be able to replace the recipe for you.
Q1. You are indeed missing something. You can craft (although this also requires laurels to buy some of the recipes) or get as a rare drop from fractals and champion bags, ascended armour and weapons, each of which gives you a slot that can be used for up to +7AR. You can also get some amulets and trinkets as rewards, e.g the various dungeon collections, and completing all achievements for a chapter of living story,
Q2. Short answer, no. There is at least one exotic back piece I can think of that can be used for AR, but it was a reward from living story season 1, and so no longer available. I can’t think of any that can still be obtained, so if you want AR, you need ascended.
Q3. See my answer to 1. Yes, and it seems more likely at higher levels. You have a chance to get armour or weapon chests.
Q4. Your best bet, if forging, and if you have the patience, is to wait for an ascended chest drop. Each acended chest will either give you a specific piece (i.e. shoulders), but let you choose from a subset of stats, or will be a fixed set of stats, but let you choose which piece. As you only need the exotic inscription or insignia to change the stats in the mystic forge, even if the drop isn’t for the stats you want, it’s much cheaper than crafting from scratch.
Q5. Not sure on that specific backpiece, as I’m not sure exactly what it is. The crafted ones are level 78 exotics, so if you already have something around that level, it’s good enough to be getting on with. As you get to high level fractals, you’ll want to upgrade to ascended, and then infused for the extra slots for agony resistance. The ascended ones are made through the forge, though not crafting.
Q6. There isn’t really any PvE content (except maybe the new raid) that requires anything better than exotic gear, let alone ascended. If you really want to min-max, you could run two sets of gear for different infusions, but ascended by itself is more than enough. Personally, I just have one set of gear and use my slots for AR.
Q6.5 I think black diamonds are HoT only so won’t drop in the Silverwastes.
Do you use any overlay software? I used to get this problem with Overwolf, and it stopped as soon as stopped running it.
I disagree that a season isn’t enough time to produce a full set. Although LS2 only consisted of 8 chapters, it ran for over 6 months (early July 2014 – late January 2015). It’s also worth remembering that weren’t just working on the first elite specs last year, first they had to overhaul the core trait system to make room for elite specs, as well as produce an entirely new profession, neither of which would need repeating for a second set of elites. Although we don’t know precisely when they started working on the first elite specs, it was ~10 months from announcing to releasing, so 6 months may well be enough time to produce a full set on their own.
Rather than include the elite specs piecemeal in living story releases, perhaps they would instead add a second set as a feature pack released after living story season 3, to avoid the unfairness of classes gettings specs at different times.
Either way, I think it’s doubtful we’d have to wait for the next expansion to get more, considering that the current number of hero points available means we currently have (I think) 364 spare, more than enough assuming a new elite spec would cost 250.
If you’ve not sold much since, it might be worth checking the buy-back tab at a vendor, in case you’re really lucky and it’s still there.
