AoE abilities balancing
One of the issues brought up a lot in WvW./sPvP is AoE (Area of Effect). We feel like they are too strong at the moment and a lot of people in WvW are gaming the system using AoEs.
For people that don’t know – max targets for siege weapons is 50 while max targets for AoE is 5.
Reducing AoE effectiveness to bring them in line with the single target damage skills.
Major update coming to all the AoE skills – make classes that are good at single target damage stand out a bit more.
Same thing with dungeons – right now if you have a lot of AoE you can past encounters by just spamming AoE which is not what we want.Yeah man. Guess we’ll have to ditch our traps and longbow? psh, who cares about barrage.
Traps: garbage CHECK
LB: garbage CHECKPoint of thread: No idea OP seems to like sub pare game play
M8 you wanna run around with a LB and role play some weird sniper fantasy go ahead bro, all power to ya, but really LB and Trap builds are sub par…Or you like to stand back in a zerg and that’s how you get your rox off!
Seriously though if you don’t know why this change is being made go see the video of 4 Eles wiping AN ENTIRE ZERG in WvW!
All that is is a video of 4 good players killing the worlds dumbest zerg to ever walk the earth. 2 stealthed Theives could have BS’d those eles into fertilizer no problem. Or , hey, better yet, why not try pushing and not acting like a couple ticks of 500 damage is the end of the world. Maybe if people played a little more aggressively and stopped making glass cannons…
If anything all it shows is that the attunement mechanic needs to have a longer cool down to prevent them from setting off so many AoE’s at once. Even the ranger will become an unstoppable juggernaut if we taped 60 of them together in a zerg and had them all focus fire with LB 1 at max range.
I love how proponents of an AoE nerf all of a sudden come out of the woodwork like this has always been a huge balance issue despite almost no chatter on the subject before this and the countless threads about the power of particular builds that are 100% single target damage.
Because just the other day I was thinking “man, these Thieves and Warriors are all getting rolled by Ele’s and Engineers. I wish Anet would do something about all this uber OP AoE and help single target damage stand out more.”
These guys are getting to be even worse than Blizzard at their jobs and that is saying a lot.
I’ve found the Jaguar to be the best overall for damage. The raven can burst more but use QZ right after activating the Stalk skill and the Jag can put out a serious amount of damage while also causing 1% vulnerability per hit.
The only real problem I have ever had with the Jag is that the cats seem to either have the lowest armor or health of almost all the pets and die very, very quickly so it’s not the one you want to send after an enemy retreating into their zerg as it will get about 5 feet before throwing in the towel.
Many people would say “L2P” "Micro your pet " and stuff like that.
I say dont bother and dont spec counting on your pets to do damage. While with a good build, and high level of micromanaging you MIGHT keep your pet alive for the duration of a boss fight, all those recalling and swaps cut down your potential damage, and if something goes wrong and a pet dies, your whole build goes to hell with it (not even counting the situations where your pet is a liabiality to your team, and should be set to passive)
Its just not worth it. It SHOULD be, and might be in the future, but currently its not, and i strongly believe many people here are delusional about it.
With heals in the form they are now, nothing short of a massive buff in armor/life of pets will ever make any kind of BM build viable in PvE and the very idea of it working in PvP in any form is laughable because any player with active brain cells will just ignore the pet and kill the player who has put all their points into making the pet better and leaving themselves open. It’s the same reason GW1 never saw BM’s come on the scene even after massive buffs to pet damage and durability.
Try playing GW1. The animations were completely different based on your gender. The female even held her bow horizontally.
Honestly, I feel like the pet shouldn’t even be killable at all. What other class can actively have a big chunk of their utility and damage shut down so easily? They should just have a mechanic that causes us the player to take like 10% of the pets damage as our own to discourage passive play but still allow the idea of pet tanking. As it stands, the pet can’t tank anything that would need it and when any kind of AoE gets thrown around, end-game or WvW, they fold faster than Superman on laundry day.
The only other class that so heavily relies on NPC’s is the Mesmer and they actually benefit, quite heavily if traited right, when their minions die.
If they really want it to be “Part of the ranger” or whatever than they should have put a little stupid npc that I can kill to disable thief initiative regen or warrior adrenalin gain.
The power of it isn’t in it’s regen. What is so great about is it’s an instant fire heal, not the best health packet but still okay. It’s other massive strength is it’s ability to strip conditions with every tick for everyone in it’s aoe. That’s invaluable for a team or zerg and it also doubles as a stun breaker if you get locked or if you are crippled with enemies on your kitten
I get 5k health off the initial activation and I only have 100 healing power.
Thieves don’t like being controlled, even the good ones which there are very few, my thief main sure doesn’t. Keep them controlled while your pet has lunch and sit on Q zephyr or another burst for last hit before they can reset the fight then swap pet if you have 5 bm and stomp. Go for that quickness stomp if you can, even if they don’t trait for downed damage, that knife throw can turn any low health into a revive.
If the thief keeps hitting and running off for a reset, let them go rest up while you rest up, they want you to slowly kill yourself on them while they go in and out of stealth chasing them like any good zergling should do. I guarantee they’re going to rage on the inside if they come back at you and you’re rested and ready to roll with a smile with fully refreshed cool downs. They want to lure you, so deny them that and just go about your business while they slowly, or quickly, kill themselves on you.
This is SO true. Knowing when and when not to chase an enemy is a huge part of surviving in WvW. When they come back after a difficult fight to see you just standing there not backing away, many thieves (other professions included) change their mind about continuing to fight you and will start targeting other players instead if any are nearby.
I’d say this is true for most every other class except rangers. Maybe also engineers and necros but the standing firm might make them think “what’s this guy got up his sleeve?” Most people know the average wvw ranger is just going to try to axe #1 you to death and will go right for you.
I can’t even count how many times a thief has circumvented our zerg to go right for me thinking I’m an easy badge. Rangers aren’t really high on anyone’s “Oh kitten, better not try to 1v1 this guy” list.
Could everyone here thinking people want Orr to be easier please stop sucking at reading comprehension?
Annoying =/= hard.
Dealing with rush hour traffic is annoying as hell but it is in no way hard.
People don’t like Orr because it is bland, repetitive, lacks any reward and is just plain not fun. People won’t play a game aspect that isn’t fun or rewarding regardless of how easy or hard it is. It’s that simple.
Get help from allies? Honestly, there is no way to kill them. They will either kill you or realize that they can’t win and will just stealth and run away beyond the cull range and completely disappear.
The best you can hope for is to catch them in a lot of AoE by pure luck but since we don’t exactly have that ability you will have a hard time making it work.
They created a TF2 Spy without any of the drawbacks.
Honestly I wouldn’t hold your breath. They seem to have a split personality issue when it comes to pets. On the one hand, they want them to be the other half of our class in damage and utility but then they make them incredibly squishy and give them long recharges as if they are as expendable as Mesmer or Necro minions. They don’t really seem to know how to handle them at all.
This combined with the apparent fact that neither of the devs handling these things actually play Ranger means that any change will at best be halfhearted and will probably miss the point entirely not unlike the very odd water combat buff we got.

Careful, your legitimate concerns might be overturned by people under the impression that you “just weren’t doing it right”.
Time will tell if they will do anything about it. The created Greens/Uniques in GW1 that often had unique skins or unique stat combos that only dropped from specific bosses making them worthwhile to kill.
It would be nice to see something like that for GW2 because right now it seems like anything that is even remotely nice looking and therefor of value is crafted in the forge or is simply much much easier to get by throwing merch fodder into it making any ‘slay it for stuff’ element of the game kind of moot.
If it’s true that “Legendary weapons will be better than ascended weapons which will be better than exotics” im out of that game. Because after these
diversified months of maxing my craftmanship (all on 400) I want to be able to craft max. items. Extravagant Legendaries would waste my limited time, im not a 7/24.After these weeks of developing craftmanship I look foreward to play lovely with max. weapons, max. equip. I don’t have time to do that hard job for reaching these Legendaries, but I dont want to be excluded from max. Stats. I dont want to run breathless behind that item-progression the whole game. Who knows how this will continue?
I want to play from now on a long time with my maxed items. And if ArenaNet doesn’t care about players like me, I am shure I will find an alternative. Some may not even start to play GW2 if they realize this fracture in concept.
Boa
So because you can’t play 24/7 those of us who can play more than casually should be punished??? Wow. I forgot this was Boa Wars 2, not Guild Wars 2. My mistake sir, I will start sending you my money for the newest expansions!
I assume you’re MAD about having to farm Dungeons for tokens also? HOW RUDE!! ArenaNet should send you tokens cause you don’t have time for dungeons!! The nerve of them!! Where’s the petition to sign for you getting things handed to you because you can’t play for a long period of time!!!!
Yes, because it should be RNG based, not player skill based when determining who is better in PVP/PVE. I hear that’s why all FPS give you better guns that deal more damage the more hours you clock in the game.
If you are so starved for real positive returns on time invested there is literally the whole rest of the world out there willing to give you something better the more effort you put in.
True, Wasabi. That’s one of the reasons why Valve hasn’t said crap about Half-Life 3.
Valve is like Blizzard and runs on a special sort of time that us normal mortals are unable to comprehend. To try to convert it into the ways we understand time would only cause confusion and outrage.
I hardly ever pvp’ed at all in GW1 and the few times I did (yes FA and alliance battles do count) I never felt out classed in any regard. I did feel some frustration at tank builds but other than that it was fun and I never felt like the fat kid with asthma trying to keep up with the track team.
The entire class did a 180 and now we have very little to any utility and are mostly just walking badge dispensers for the rest of the classes.
I mean, seriously, 1 unconditional ranged interrupt in our entire skill set? Crippling Shot is 3 second of cripple with 12 seconds of cooldown? What the kitten happened? Don’t even get me started on spirits. Favorable Winds and EoE bombs to this crap?
Make a thief and use the short bow. You won’t have to rely on kitten pets and you will rock in PvP. The difference is like playing old counterstrike and the AWP vs the default pistol.
The very fact that the only ever really pvp competitive build we had relied heavily on degen damage should tell you enough.
They shipped a half finished product lacking almost every area. The time for making ripples in the scene has come and gone and they flubbed it in a heroic fashion. Their slow as balls pace when it comes to obvious bug fixes and lax attempts at balance didn’t help either.
They could, eventually, put out a glorious product. But, by then, who will care? It’s no secret that people are fickle and the longer it takes to fix the game the more likely that another, more attractive, product will come along and once you have a new love why go back to the frumpy one who couldn’t get their kitten together no matter how much you asked them to?
If you are calling this the best MMO with only 4 weeks of playing it, you are delusional, this game is nothing new, its Warhammer+Diablo sugar coated with nice graphics, WoW is and forever will be the best MMO in the market, 8 years and running baby!
What makes WoW the best? Certainly 8 years can’t have anything to do with it. Ultima Online has been online now for 16 years. Everquest has been alive now for over 13 years.
Forever is a long time. WoW will be forgotten some day.
None of them really blew up like WoW did. It made the entire genre mainstream and seems, for the most part, to have hit the nail on the head when it comes to pleasing the most people at once. Even Blizzard has said that they will eventually abandon WoW, but there is no denying that it was and, for the time being, is a major force in the industry and what almost every MMO is held against whether they want to be or not.
All I can guess from what I am reading is that you guys tried something that was effectively cybering and did it in such a way that you got caught, reported and penalized for doing something that is against the rules.
What exactly is the problem here?
Party and direct message chat is there for a reason. Don’t like people catching you, don’t use local/map chat.
I think it just takes some creativity to really make a good set even if the named Medium top gives sylvari males hips that just wont quit for some reason.
You know, I see a lot of complaining and not a lot of suggestions. If you guys hate the armor so much what would you do differently? Just telling Anet that the one theme they went with sucks isn’t going to help at all when they seem to love long coats.
There’s criticism and them there’s constructive criticism.
Unless, of course, this is just another cleverly disguised “I find it hard to fap to my female toon with all this clothing in the way” kind of thread.
I almost consistently get at least 1 ecto per salvage. Sounds liek you may have just angered the RNG gods somehow. They are quite the fickle bunch.
The problem here isn’t that Warrior or Guardian are so much better than other classes, it’s that they’re so much -easier- than the others. You can look up build after build of videos on youtube of people playing any other profession, and I guarantee it’ll make you jealous of how good they look.
@Lord Kreegan:
“10%-15% better armor protection, someone said? BS. My warrior can stand toe-to-toe with most mobs and take little to no damage in the period of time that the medium ad lightly armored classes would be demolished… and does as much damage to the mobs during those encounters as the heavier more-DPS oriented classes do.”You do realize Warrior is capable of 1-shotting anyone in WvW, right? 21k+ Hundred Blades? And I’ve seen many people break 30k. Warriors do some of the heaviest damage in the game, with Thief being the only other thing I’ve seen that can stay up with them. If we were to call anything about the Soldier classes (And this has nothing to do with Guardian) OP, this would be it.
Anet has this mysterious disease that makes them incapable of balancing offensive power with defensive power. Combining the two in one class never seems like a bad idea and never gets addressed when others point it out.
Please Anet, learn from your first game. Don’t add more classes. Just give us more to do with the ones we have now. A few new utilities here and there would be far, far easier to balance and would breathe life into the game at the same time.
GW2 is definitely badly optimized. I just upgraded to a GTX 670 recently from my old card and I could say that I couldn’t tell a difference. My i7 920 is already overclocked at 3.8-3.9. Anet shouldve already addressed this or fixed the issue already.
I upgraded from an old card so bad I was getting driver crashes from just having Firefox open to a new gtx 660 and the game didn’t really improve much at all aside from getting much less zerg induced lag in wvw and large fights where there are so many particle effects flying around I can’t even see the target.
The major thing that did change is now I have to turn off water reflections because it was causing me to experience some glitch where the environment objects and terrain would become transparent if my camera touched the ground plane or came close to it. But, that could be any number of things really.
(edited by Substance E.4852)
A glass cannon ranger will never be as good as a glass cannon anything else so it’s better to try to go balanced and combine Troll’s with decent Def/Vit so you don’t fold faster than Superman on laundry day.
If you’ve ever seen a backstab glass thief try to take on more than one enemy at a time you know what I mean.
I find the longbow is far more useful in WvW and it tends to be what I use for range unless I find my self in a lot of zerg v zerg battles in which I usually just use the axe for it’s bounces. The shortbow may do more damage to a single target but I find the utility of the longbow skills and the superior range when traited makes up for it.
@Daemon.4295 the sword root isn’t a bug btw, its how they designed it.
I would like to see F2 skill work for once when pressed, the skill always goes off at big delay. Not sure if its a bug, but sure does feel like it.
^ This
I’d love to be able to do things like send my wolf into a WvW zerg to blast off a fear aoe but the thing would never survive the time it takes to not only execute the attack (why does every kitten f2 skill have such a long windup anet?) but also the time it takes to even initiate the skill.
It wasn’t even just the lore in GW1. Guilds were a huge thing and you pretty much couldn’t do any kind of PvP without them. Or, you could, but you would get curb stomped by a group with actual organization. Never mind the fact that they were the best way to get a group of people together for hard PvE in a game where there was no such thing as solo (even npc AI counts as teammates).
The warring guilds lore is just some flavoring they sprinkled in that had little to nothing to do with any of the events of the 3.5 GW1 games and almost no lore from GW1 affects what is going on in GW2 as almost everything that shaped the world as it is now happens after the events of GW1.
I would love to see what they could do with guild halls and the idea of a new GvG pvp mode is always a good thing. I really don’t know why so many things from GW1 that worked and loved (LFG advert menu anyone?) were left out this time around. It defies logic.
The combat system is the BEST IVE EVER EXPERINCED. That guy is only right about the story, the story is horrible, why couldnt they have hired me? I’de be their story righter for 12 dollars an hour aslong as it was permanet and i would come up with WAY better storys then the ones were told here, hell even just copy a good story with your own gw spin on it and it would be miles ahead of what we got now.
Also the personal story needs more grouped missions with more narration and epic fealing, phopecies had the epic fealing SOMETIMES but it just got redic when you had 8 people trying to kill one dwarf for 5 min, its more fun fighting hordes of enemies then just slapping a lvl 1 looking char in their iwth 100000000hp, makes you feal weak, make us heros, if you want us to fight high hp bosses please make them look epic and give them reason for being so strong.
TL;DR VERSION:
NO TRINITY, NUMBERS GAMES ARE BORING, WOW IS BORING 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8, REPEAT IS NOT FUN
i do agree that we need more types of game mechanics for dungeons and such.
It is so hard to not feel like AN’s target market is ADD Teens when most of the people defending the game sound like this…
lol I love the “1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8, REPEAT IS NOT FUN” when that’s all combat in GW2 is. Being pigeonholed into DPS and locked attack bars leaves little room for creativity. The age of people coming up with things like touch rangers and 55 monks is over.
GW2 is an Arcade style action game with RPG elements, not a MMO RPG.
I would say it is an MMO in the strict definition of the term. However, comparing it to other games in the genre is like comparing Candy Land to Risk.
Honestly gold isn’t difficult to make and the cost of crafting a legendary averages to a relatively low amount..
500g+ is “a relatively low amount?”
You have to realize that the people who play MMO’s like an unpayed part-time job don’t remember what it’s like for normal people.

Second issue is that with dynamic events. He obviously knows nothing about map completion and renown hearts for leveling outside of dynamic events. He also thinks that events that have one person helping should still succeed. Im sorry but if youre one man taking on a centaur army youre not going to succeed, are you? Its called realism. Yes it can be annoying but id rather have that than events that automatically succeed no matter how many people are participating.
Yes, but that is a bad design if you are building a game to last. A new player is going to have a hard enough time trying to get a feel for the game with low level areas devoid of life and will get even more frustrated by impossible quests that were designed to be done with large groups that would have only ever been found during the launch of the game. If you start to cut off the supply of fresh players the game stagnates and won’t last very long.
Also, let’s not invoke realism in a game where I can be shot in the face with a gun and be totally okay.
There’s no control (defiant buff on anything worth controlling)
This is something that has bugged the kitten out of me since launch. This game feels like oldschool final fantasy where every skill that caused a status effect might as well not existed since you would never waste the MP on a random encounter and any boss worth trying to blind or put to sleep was completely immune to status effects.
Going by the numbers on these threads, no one ever loses a 1v1. Anyone who wants to make absolute claims about the class can post videos of a few matches, unedited, start to finish (and leave out the stupid music).
Don’t be silly. That would require them to provide some kind of proof that they can do what they claim and not rely on the opponent being a complete moron.
Everybody forget something with the GS, the #3 and #4 deals good damages too.
The #5 give to your pet +50% damage on his next attack too, the GS is the best melee weapon to burst.ranger can’t burst. thats one of its problems.
PvP is controlled by burst classes and those without burst get left behindRanger can, not like a rogue of course, but we can. I’m testing a pure melee build, and I can deal ~10k damage in less than 3sec, without big cooldown.
Actually rangers can burst just as heavy and well as thieves, its just that no one knows how to control pets properly. I can do a 15-20k burst in under 3 seconds.
Okay, both of you, what builds are you using? Because this sounds crazy.
Don’t bother. He still thinks that no one can counter his stun, lol.
But I don’t use stuns o-o. My burst actually doesn’t require any snares or cc.
So in other words, the build requires the person to stand still and catch every attack with their face.
Guys, I’m going to let you in on something that will apparently blow your mind. Corporations and brands aren’t your friend. They don’t care about you personally and your only value to them at all is the amount of money in your pocket you are willing to give to them for a product.
Anet didn’t make this game out of the goodness of their hearts and aren’t running a charity. This all happened because they figured it was a good idea economically and someone upstairs with all the capital agreed with them.
If you want us to treat the devs like human beings then they need to meet us halfway. That means no more bullkitten about updates that won’t come and actually interacting like people instead of posting prepared statements every few weeks that are nothing but vague allusions and hype.
LOL, WOW copied EQ, and plenty of other older MMO’s.
The only thing WOW DID do, was make MMO’s carebear easily accessible, and dumbed down to the masses. And I hate them for that. But what do ya do? We live in the age of entitlement and “I want everyone to have the same things I have with no work because I don’t have time to invest in a game” guys.
MMO’s by original design were timesinks that took months, if not years for the community to figure out how everything worked. Nowadays, MMO’s are uber easy, and ppl burn through the content so fast just so the minority doesn’t feel left behind.
I miss perma death, stealing ppl’s crap out of their bags in towns and ganking. Back when playing an MMO was a brutal experience and everywhere you went you had to watch your back. It was thrilling and there was nothing like it. A simple trip to town could end you, if you where there at the wrong time. It was exhilarating.
Nowadays, it’s all about, pvp here and only here in this area, no where else. Give everyone uber gear with little to grind (and they still cry about grind, when they don’t know what grind is).
lol you’ll always have EvE. I actually wonder if people are still suicide ganking afk Hulks.
All 3 major releases of GW1 had large starting areas that were persistent worlds. You could leave the towns and find lots of people fighting mobs.
No… persistent means other people than your party which gw1 did not have. Did you even play GW1? Your statement is beyond false, it’s completely and utterly faulty.
GW1 by definition was not an MMO. However a.net did change a lot of stuff to make it more MMO-like but never really was. Without a persistent area, you do not have an MMO period. Pretty much end of discussion actually.Calling a bike a car does not make it so
The most accurate genre for GW1 most likely was “diablo 2 clone” or hack ‘n’ slash.
GW2 was made because GW1 wasn’t an MMO.
I was going to comment about the same thing, but I think he is referring to the starter zone where you do see other players fighting mobs, it was the only persistent area in the game, most of the older players play this area to get achievement and to attempt reaching lvl 20. Its also one of the better areas for getting black dyes from my understanding.
The second you walked out the gates in PreSearing it was just you and maybe one other person in the Ascalon countryside. The only time you ever dealt with people who weren’t in your party in a non-pvp setting in GW was two missions in Factions where your team worked together with another, randomly selected, team to achieve a goal that converged two separate story lines and which only existed as long as you were in the mission zone.
The only true persistent areas were the towns which were essentially fancy hub lobbies since no actual combat ever took place in them that you could participate in.
(edited by Substance E.4852)
GW2 may inevitably fail, as is the risk that all MMO’s take (even before Everquest and WoW were ever a thing). But if people are going to fall back on the argument that “GW2 is turning into a WoW clone because they introduced a gear grind”, then at least take the time to educate yourself on the industry and reconsider if it’s worth it to you to hurt a game you love because they decided to introduce a new gear set with some higher numbers on it.
I mean that seriously. Is this one change really worth forsaking a title that most of you have played non-stop since release? Because if and when GW2 turns into a “WoW-Clone”, it will be the people that said “Yes” that helped push it down that road.
You know, I was ready to agree with you until this bomb dropped. Are you seriously insinuating that it’ our fault that the game doesn’t currently offer what we look for in a game because of design changes? Do you really expect people to change their preferences as easily as the game shifts it’s focus?
Many of us came here because we loved what they did in GW1 with equipment and stuck around because from the looks of it, it was going to be the same way this time around. Now we have a new tier of equipment to work towards that doubles as a gated content key, another thing thankfully absent from GW1. We have no reason to believe this wont happen again and if that is how things are going to be from now on, many have no reason to stick around. Don’t act like it’s our fault. I didn’t beg for more gear nor did I game the system to get a Legendary in 3 weeks and then complain that my hollow life had no direction because I caught the carrot. Yet, they changed things to appeal to the small amount that did and took steps that made them emulate the rest of the MMO community when they claimed to be different.
If the game goes under, it will be because of poor design choices and communication. Not because those of us put off by changes didn’t just suck it up and keep drudging on like nothing has changed.
I’m going to affix my tinfoil hat and suppose that this was a last minute decision to get people to participate in an event that they might have not otherwise either due to the ascended item news or out of shear lag. High participation in an event that takes place during a free trial weekend is a very powerful thing for a game’s image and once they get those people to pay the money for the game, it won’t much matter if they stick around a week later or not since new people will always be coming in as long as the only reviews in the public eye are the raving ones written during the betas.
Well, we do throw dirt that causes bleeding. That must be some really sharp dirt. Am I laying in a pile of broken glass? Is that why I am bleeding to death on the ground?
And ya, thunderclap makes no sense lore wise, but it’s the only thing that will save your kitten in pvp/wvw when you have to wait several seconds to see if lick wounds will even work at all.
(edited by Substance E.4852)
I have 2 80 s. One fully geared exotic. I have completed 4 dungeons total..lol and they were all story lines dungeons. It doesn’t bother me one bit people want level 80s in full exotics. What’s the big deal with them being particular about who they group with? Every person playing values their time.
Even more so for the people who don’t play for 12 hours a day, aka casuals, who don’t have the luxury of being able to minmax at will and that is the exact kind of person that gets screwed when a system like this becomes the norm. Eventually it gets so bad that new people don’t feel welcome enough to stick around, the community stagnates and then the game dies.
The horde of righteous Rangers rises up only to be back-stabbed and 100bladed back into quiet submission. Twiddling their thumbs, they hope the powers that be will grant them some slight reprieve, but none ever comes…
Guardian’s pretty solid if you don’t like the Warrior or Thief. It is also the one that is most associated with support and seems to always be in a better spot balance-wise than the elementalist.
Man, I wish I knew. It’s possible that we will get fixed, but they never really gave the GW1 ranger any love in 7 years so I get less and less optimistic.
I thought things would change when they created a completely different kind of game but now it seems like things are worse than ever. At least in GW1, cripshot meant you would always have a place in GvG if nowhere else. plus, touchies were buttloads of fun.
Please don’t make a 3v1 claim with no video evidence when we know better first hand. It just makes you look like a fool and insults our intelligence.

‘’ I do still believe ranger is the profession in most need of improvement after this patch…’’ so ranger was the profession in most need of improvement before this patch too and they did 28 changes on elementist , 31 changes on engineer, 24 changes on necromancer , 17 changes on thief and finally 14 changes on Ranger . Well looks like we dont have enough population as rangers so we dont have the priority to getting fix .
I so have to agree… Anyone in WA state near me wanna go visit ArenaNet? Maybe if they saw some of the faces of the real people they are dealing with they might understand why we are so upset, as it is we’re being treated like we don’t exist.
You would just get security called on you. The fact that they post here shows they know we exist and what we are upset about. The fact that they do nothing to change it shows they just don’t care.
