Well so far you complaining about not having those stats or a statement which says something about you. You also said that you think 2 months is enough time which also says something about you. So from those 2 things i gathered that you do not know much about video game development cause if you did then you would know that 2 months is no where near enough time. Also you missed one of my edits (make that even cause i missed yours). Anet has already made a statement 2 months ago about these said stats and about making new stat combinations as well. Patience.

I’m not about to argue specifics about video game design with you…but for them to introduce a new armor item with 10 armor stat combinations in 2 months (as well as adding a whole new system for achievements, new events…etc) does IMPLY that they are very capable of adding a few more missing stat combinations within that 2 month time frame as well.

And once again, I’m glad you’re resorting to personal attacks here. All I’ve done is stated how I feel without saying anything negative to you about your abrasiveness. I could make claims about your personality as well but I’m the more mature individual here and will stick to the topic.

If i was going to personally attack you i would do more then what i said. Tell me am I wrong about you about you not ever making a computer game? I doubt i am wrong on this one. The whole new system was thought of over 2 months ago. As well i will state again they already said 2 months ago they will be introducing new stats which in video game development world wont be in the game for another 4 months. Such as the scavenger hunt for the precursors wont be in the game till (my best guess) september. If they do get it in before then i will be quite surprised but at the moment they aren’t dedicating resources to that. In 4 months if they havent added the new stats then i will start to wonder and ask them.

Actually you would be wrong i am one of the people affected by this considering i use Power/Toughness/ Healing Power. Also 2 months in Video game development is very little time. Your lack of Patience and lack of computer development knowledge makes you believe that everything can be created quickly. Reality is different so be patient.

edit: Note all my states are Power/Toughness/Healing power armour and accessories so yea i am affected by it but yet i am able to understand Anets stance.

Your ability to judge others is astounding. I’m so glad you can say that about someone you don’t know at all…congratulations! And, I’m sure a lot of us would be extremely patient (including myself) if something was actually SAID about it. To be left in the dark and not have a single comment though? That’s what’s ticking players off the most at the moment. Even just a “we’ve heard your comments and will be adding these armor pieces in the future” would be more than enough but I’m not one to actively fish for Arenanet responses.

But yet you do not know their plans and are blowing out of proporations. Are you going to go screaming and running that in 20years the population of earth could exceed 10 billion? What may not be there now may be in there in the future. Right now there is probably a reason which Anet has the right not to share with us. Hence Long term effects but you have to define how long is long in this case.

That’s an irrelevant example. I believe two months is pretty long in this case (from the day the fractals dungeon was first introduced). I’m thoroughly convinced now that you’re one of the people NOT affected by this since you cannot see how this impacts me. I’m telling you to play devil’s advocate for one second…imagine if you were in my shoes and they released healing ascended gear but they didn’t release “INSERT YOUR ARMOR STAT HERE” armor set. How would you feel and would you be satisfied if I gave you the exact same answer you gave me? Probably not.

I’m not saying nor do I believe that healing power gear will eventually never be introduced…I’m stressing the lack of communication, poor implementation and false advertising claimed that we can “play the way we want to play”. I was extremely patient the first two months when the rings were introduced without my preferred stat combination. How long do you think I have to wait before I can finally start progressing in fractals? How long do I have to be weaker against everyone else before I can be on equal playing grounds?

Actually you would be wrong i am one of the people affected by this considering i use Power/Toughness/ Healing Power. Also 2 months in Video game development is very little time. Your lack of Patience and lack of computer development knowledge makes you believe that everything can be created quickly. Reality is different so be patient.

They just havnt put anything in for Ascended it has not gutted the gear or anything yet. Your blowing it out of proporation atm.

Once again, I am not blowing it out proportion. Why would anyone want to continue playing support if they cannot scale with the rest of the pack? Why would anyone want to continue playing support if the gear provided doesn’t allow them to slot in agony resistance for higher fractal levels? Why would anyone want to continue playing support if they’re gimping themselves out and missing out on higher secondary stats as well? Why would anyone want to continue playing rampagers/carrion/knight/cavalier/shaman’s if they’re missing out on stats by not switching over to berserker’s or soldier’s? So as you can see, I am NOT blowing it out of proportion…you’re just failing to see the long term effects of said change.

But yet you do not know their plans and are blowing out of proporations. Are you going to go screaming and running that in 20years the population of earth could exceed 10 billion? edit: As well if you havnt decided to red Anet posts from awhile ago when Ascended came out. They told us that they will be working on and releasing other stats later on. (which includes other new ones). I’m too busy atm to search for it but it was stated by one of them before.

My comparison might be terrible and still be better than yours. League of Legends developers announced something that wasn’t fully ready, then they scrapped the project and the announcement backfired on them. They learned from their mistake and said they wouldn’t be announcing anything unless it was fully ready, just like someone from Anet yesterday said they won’t be releasing the patch notes until the patch is actually released. This is the behaviour you are referring to and I have no problems with it, as it’s pretty reasonable and understandable.

Sure, they didn’t remove anything, but as more Ascended Gear gets released, probably in the next two months, the combination stats that are ignored get progressively “removed”.
more coming later as I have to go

Similar to mine then considering that Ascended was poorly planned and only thrown in a measure to appease the masses. They already said that it was poorly planned and are working on correcting it. I am amazed more of how fast they are working on it. Most people do not realize how much work it is to do what they have done.

POLL: Would you like level cap to be raised?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Suddenflame.2601

It’s been 5 months since the game has been released.
New expansion is proably just around the corner and so I think it’s a good idea to let ANet know what we want and what we don’t want to see in it.

So here is the question I would like to ask:

WOULD YOU LIKE LEVEL CAP TO BE RAISED (with the new expansion of course)? Or would you prefer it to stay as it is right now?

Please answer YES or NO (preferably in caps) and if you want to add justification (which is highly desired)
just make sure to leave 1 line space in between (to make it as clear as possible).

If anyone know if it’s possible to add a poll on those forums, I’d be much grateful for such information.

dude you need to read some of the Anet posts. The Level Cap has a potential to be raised in later Expansions. Only the paid expansions when they come out have the potential of being raised lvl cap. I am too lazy to go find that post.

Suddenflame your comparison is moot, we are not asking Arenanet what’s gonna be on the next patch or what are their plans for expansion, we are asking their reasoning behind halving the possible stat combinations with ascended gear. It’s not a question about future content which may or may not be released on time, it’s a question about design decision. For example, many years ago LoL’s devs removed an item, Innervating Locket, and they explained why they did that and why it was good for the game.

Terrible comparison considering Anet has not removed anything but just didnt put something in so you are asking them to put something in that does not exist atm. You make it sound like they took it away when in reality they never added it in the first place. Consider each circumstance your example of the Innervating locket is like Anet removing all Knight gear and everything that didnt appear in the Ascended. But this is closer to Maguum Chamber where people wanted it but it was never put in due to reasons which took Riot years before they stated those reasons. They havnt removed anything that someone was already using.

But yet Magum Chamber event still happened it still plagues the forums to date. As well Riot still has not told why they made Vladimir’s blood pool speed boost degrade over time. There is still things they will not tell people of why they did it. Which is the case here. How large of effect does this have on the entire game? Appears currently to be severely minor which is like Vlad’s pool change.

This is getting off-topic but this is the last I will post of League of Legends. Vladimir is just one champion in the category of “Ability Power Mages/Carries”. There are a plethora of AP mages and carries which can fulfill that category if a player is dissatisfied with the Vladimir changes. A gutting of this gear however is the removal of an ENTIRE playstyle…support. Imagine if League of Legends decided one day to stop creating ability power mages and carries. Would that not be upsetting and an incredibly drastic change to said users?

Are you aware of the complexity of making of a game? No? Didn’t think so. You think everything can be designed, ensured balanced, ensure its not going to break the game. You are not even sure the long term goal behind ascended even are. Nor does Anet have to tell you what their goal is due to past recorded accounts from other large game companies that have shown that if they do tell you the goal that there is generally terrible outcome. Try working for a game company first and understand its fundamentals before you question its logic. If you want to see illogical patches look at Diablo 3 patches and logic behind what they are doing. That game has been out far longer and yet it does not have PvP that was supposed to be there in the start. You are wanting a gear stats that may be against what Anet is trying to do with Ascended Gear.

And yet, there are certain game companies that have done this WITH LARGE SUCCESS, like League of Legends. Riot (creators of LoL) has stated on numerous occassions what they wanted to do with several items and the direction of the game…WELL IN ADVANCE BEFORE it ACTUALLY took place (and don’t bring up Maguuma Chamber from your previous forum post because that was when the company first started up so they were bound to make mistakes in their communication…Arenanet has been up since 2005). This is the key difference…they did this BEFORE.They did this with the Heart of Gold Health Reduction, the removal of Heart of Gold altogether, the removal of Innervating Locket, upcoming champion reworks…etc.

I find it extremely hard to believe that they wouldn’t introduce the gear because they were “unsure”…if they didn’t want to include it, they would have and should have told us beforehand. And still, that doesn’t explain why Carrion/Rampagers/Knights/Cavaliers armor sets are missing as well. How are these armor sets radically different from soldiers or berserkers? The difference in MOST cases is one stat which already exists on other armor pieces. Why would the inclusion of one stat be completely against Anet’s philosophy and general direction on ascended gear?

But yet Magum Chamber event still happened it still plagues the forums to date. As well Riot still has not told why they made Vladimir’s blood pool speed boost degrade over time. There is still things they will not tell people of why they did it. Which is the case here. How large of effect does this have on the entire game? no i am saying skills using Healing Power compliment each other. Such as 3 regen skills stack to give you a better regen. But 3 offensive skills do not stack to give you more damage or more crit chance.

Every skill compliments each other with increased stats…think Warrior again. With a higher crit chance, their Hundred Blades will be proccing Might stacks more frequently. With a higher crit damage coefficient, their Hundred Blades will be hitting harder. With a higher power base, their Hundred Blades will again be hitting harder. I fail to see why Healing Power skills can only complement each other (refer to my above post where I stated it was only an addition of 8 HEALTH PER SECOND) and damage skills do not. I just disproved your initial claim with a simple example which again, negates your argument.

You once again did not disprove since might is a different mechanic that i was intending to leave out along with food and anything else that is not part of that raw skill. At this point i am trying to make it class universal and focusing on the underlying mechanics of a skill. Bring it down to the basics power is for raw hitting damage. Crit chance is the chance for a higher raw hitting damage. Healing Power helps with healing. 3 Damage skills does not compliment each other for each stands alone and deals there own seperate damage. 3 Healing skills compliment each other. I could add might and all that but then i would have to counter with protection which look at that reduces damage by 33% which is greater then everything else lol. Also could add in Retailation which helps with defence. Regeneration i could also add in and so on and so on.

Read my just posted post. Your demanding these armours be in there but you have no idea of why are not in there and Anet should not tell and will not tell based on your reactions thus far. History of video game forums always repeats itself. As people as said before Patience. You are also neglicating 1 thing when you were sending off all those. Unlike Crit Chance and Power each of those skills work with each other.

edit: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Ascended-amulets-and-ascended-items-overall/page/2#post1323516

Each of which skills work off each other? Do you honestly believe that power, precision, and crit damage do not work off each other as well? I’m baffled. And the way I’m reacting is perfectly civil. I’m backing up my claims with facts and utilizing numbers to counter argue you. We all practiced “Patience” when ascended rings and backpieces were introduced by letting our initial “Why haven’t you inserted X armor stats” forum posts die down with the November Patch. Now, you’re going to tell me to continue exercising patience when it’s been 2 months and ANOTHER item has been introduced with no word on the missing stat combinations? You cannot assume that I’m the only one demanding these armors when we’ve asked multiple times in the past (politely, in a civil manner, and not breaking any agreements).

If they are indeed thinking of removing healing power (which I extremely doubt given the fact that some of the ascended pieces DO HAVE upscaled healing power…namely Heart of Mellagan, Blood of Khan-UR, Feather of the Owl, The Eyes of Abbaddon, Eye of Janthir, Syzgy), they owe it to paying customers to give an explanation. This is a very drastic change and could well destroy a lot of peoples’ incentives to keep playing.

Are you aware of the complexity of making of a game? No? Didn’t think so. You think everything can be designed, ensured balanced, ensure its not going to break the game. So the reason they haven’t released any healing power Ascended gear is because 44 extra healing power will make their shouts heal enough for them to not be able to be killed by a non-condition/glass cannon (also in Ascended gear) player in 1v1.

As people as said before Patience.

We’ve been patient since they released rings. Then they released amulets without even a peep about healing power.

Um… i did not say that i think you may of messed up the quote lol.

Weird…I meant for it to quote Sudden.

Fixed, and…

Death to full bunker build! It seems all the ascended gear is a push away from healing this game is not about having healers in it and not about being able to heal your self though every thing rolling is a major part of dmg mitigation. Its funny when they came out with dailys that worked off core effects of GW2 ppl where confused because they never used them ROLL was one such thing.

Any bunker that doesn’t dodge roll is a dead bunker.

I am aware but looking at the math Healing power and toughness is by large far more effective at damage migration then DPS specs are at causing damage. Such as precision does not give you 1% crit chance per point. healing Power on the other hand if i could get 11 more per piece (so 44 more points) it makes a larger impact then 44 more points in Crit chance. Unlike Crit chance or attack damage some of the healing abilities up it.

44 points is about 3.7% Crit. Let’s just call it 3% increased critical chance with every last weapon swing, weapon skill, and offensive utility or elite skill.

44 healing power gets me 5 health per second from regen and 44 more health from my 6 skill (when it’s actually off CD and I need it). And 0.4 HPS from Virtue of Resolve (rounds to 0 by itself). Yes. Huge difference in stat weight.

which is why i specified Warrior lol

I said it in another post https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Ascended-amulets-and-ascended-items-overall/page/2#post1322969 this reason alone is why they havnt added Power/Healing Power/ Toughness into Ascended. Its way to easy if they did add it for a Regen warrior to actually become an unstoppable force With Signet of Rage and “For Great Justice” a warrior doesnt need to build Precision cause it is given to him.

How would you like to vs a Regen Warrior in WvW? 1v1 you better have a ton of conditions at easy disposal or else you wont be able to kill him. With Melandru runes Conditions lose their effectiveness as well due to massively decreased durations. “Shake it off” also reduces stacking effectiveness. Adding ascended Gear for this would mean a Regen warrior would be almost God like.

A) This game has never and will never be balanced around 1v1. This is MOSTLY (99.99%) a team game where your team composition matters. A regen warrior is impossible to kill? All you have to do is slap a necromancer on him and he’s toast.

B) I refer you to read the previous two pages of this forum post to understand exactly why your argument doesn’t make sense.

Did you already read the inner post? By the sounds of you have not. 99.99% of a team game great i am aware of that. Explain to me why a Regen warrior is able to run into the enemy zerg and not fear about dieing then? A single necromancer has never been a trouble for my regen warrior and i doubt will ever be a threat. Hell an entire group of mesmers i just laugh at. Read the math it explains it.

And unlike you i did read all the forum posts. WvW is the issue mostly for this and Anet is aware of it which is why Healing Power on ascended items was not released. As well Healing power is what would allow people to travel deeper into FOTM then they can currently. Right now the deepest i heard someone go is lvl56 in FOTM. Healing Power gear would allow them to travel deeper which Anet is not ready for them to do. I can come out with many many reasonable reasons why Anet does not release them.

First of all, you should read my edit. Considering a 50 healing power difference, I see NO reason why or how you’re coming up with the fact that a “regen warrior” will be impossible to kill after this patch. Have you looked at the coefficients for most of the healing to ally spells? A LOT of them are not on a 1 to 1 basis so supporters are not even directly being scaled up with the implementation of these new stats. For reference, regeneration scales 0.125 your healing power, healing signet (which is what I’m assuming your using) scales 0.033 your healing power, and adrenal health which doesn’t scale with healing power at all. You’re gaining AT MOST [0.125(50) + 0.033(50) = 6.25 + 1.65]= 7.9 ADDITIONAL HEALTH PER SECOND. And since you’re gaining even less ADDITIONAL toughness, your armor is not going to increase by that much either. Is this really, REALLY the sole reason why you’ll be unstoppable? Look below to Christos’s calculations for damage. Explain to me then why Rampager’s, Carrion, Cavalier, and Knight’s armor is missing too then. Were these OVERPOWERED armor stats before and is that why they’re neglecting to implement these as well (and in case you were wondering, NONE of these armor stats have healing power)?

Your argument is thus flawed…and why are supporters/rampagers/carrions/cavaliers/knights not allowed to progress into higher levels of fractals? Since there’s no ascended gear, we can’t infuse it for added agony resistance so the highest level fractal I’m at right now is level 19. The reason that said individual is at fractal level 56 is NOT because of healing power gear. And why isn’t Anet ready for them to progress further exactly? Give me more reasons because I’m far from convinced.

EDIT: For math because you asked for it.

Read my just posted post. Your demanding these armours be in there but you have no idea of why are not in there and Anet should not tell and will not tell based on your reactions thus far. All I’m reading in this game is dooms-day and nay-sayers. Give Anet time! You guys aren’t even giving them adequate time to flesh out the game you’re just like, “GIVE ME WHAT I WANT NOW!” and when they don’t you QQ.

TLDR; good things come to those who wait.

Let me guess, you use none of the missing armor sets?

If we were asking for a new map, or something huge and time consuming to create, then I agree ‘more time’ is a valid statement. We are talking about armor sets that already exist in the game, how long could it possibly take to add another few types of rings, amulets and back pieces when they were adding all the others ones to the game? No one cares if they share the same graphic, we care that they do not exist at all.

If for some reason it does take time, and we need to give it more time, then ANET can tell us about it, tell us the reasons and give us an indication of how long we have to wait. Instead we have complete and utter radio silence on the topic, and that is why folks are getting annoyed. More time my bass.

The main issue i see about having the rings, backpieces, and amulets with Healing/toughness imbedded in them are incase of the characters like my warrior.

Valid points but it still does not explain why certain sets such as knights (power, precision toughness), rampagers (precision, cond. damage, power) and carrion (power vitality, cond. damage) have been excluded from the ascended item gear sets. Also some of the points you brought up are more related to oversights in warrior class dynamics rather than just simply healing power, maybe those skills/traits need to be looked at and the healing power coefficients and other parts of the formula adjusted to more acceptable levels. I don’t find the reasoning that “my warrior will be unkillable so don’t allow a certain stat set of gear into the game” acceptable. If there is a unkillable class in this game then that class needs to be looked at and re-balanced rather than just simply excluding certain ascended gear sets. You’re depriving all other classes of this gear set, and quite frankly saying any class is unkillable is a gross exaggeration as well.

I didnt say he was unkillable cause he is but it takes a hell lot to do it. Healing Power does need to be looked at. Another arguement against Healing power sets is FOTM hard cap at lvl56 i heard. Healing Power is needed to get past it. If Anet is not ready for people to get past it then its pretty easy to understand why it doesnt exist. The others may not exist for some other reason. We can try demanding them but if Anet has other plans in mind then we have to respect that decision.

People are trying to demand that Anet tell everything they are doing but last time i heard of a game company do that (League of legends) people got far worse. Now League of Legends does not tell what they are doing as it is safer. There is a reason why they do not tell what they are doing or planning. Its cause people are incapable of handling it. Such as go on the League of Legends forums and look up Magnum Chamber map. You will see lots of people trying to demand it and go all crazy about when in reality the idea was scrapped due to balancing issues. The is one of many examples where an employee said too much there. Now they do not say anything till they know for 100% sure its going to be in there and even then they sometimes dont tell people till after patch notes come out.

And i am talking full ascended not just a few Pieces of jewerly. (which mind you is greater then 11 extra points considering you could have 2 rings 1 backpiece and 1 amulet).

I said about 11 per piece. And you’re forgetting that DPS specs and condition spamming builds will also have access to full sets of ascended gear.

Then they could edit the variables of certain overpowered Regen’s and lower the percentage those Regen skills receive from Healing Power. Done.

Regardless, that’s not an excuse to remove traditional stat combinations and force player’s to use the new ones.

If anything, Anet needs to come forward with their reasoning and whether or not we should expect Healing Ascended in the future.

not as easy as that considering by moving those stats like you suggest you now have weakend people drastically who are not running healing power build or do not have full ascended. You got to realize there is many variables in play. as in a previous i just made i stated another reasonable reason for why they do not put it in.

dude, regen warrior? put poison on him…

you really don’t answer why is there any ascended gear, your logic can be put in the same manner to berzerker gear,
why should i fight a godlike warrior that can kill me with a single crit?

That poison would have to last like a full 1min to kill him which Shake it off and other methods would prevent it. Dude fail counter arguement. And i am talking full ascended not just a few Pieces of jewerly. (which mind you is greater then 11 extra points considering you could have 2 rings 1 backpiece and 1 amulet).

Without ascended gear i am able to take run into a WvW zerg and not die while taking them out. On top of it when i did the math calculations for my regeneration i get 608HP/sec so if they add more healing to it then my regen would just start to get crazy. In context of lets say mending which has a 25sec CD. By the time another warrior gets his off of CD my character would have regenerated 15,200hp so way over half my hp in the same time he just regained only like 5000hp (or less). Giving my warrior even more healing on top of toughness would just make him like a unstoppable tank. Sure i sacrifice damage output but i still deal 700-1k of damage per hit while using an axe/shield combo.

So lets say i am hitting another warrior for 700 damage per hit and if they are a DPS warrior. I will be generous and give them 1k of damage per hit (it would be less due to massive armour on my character). We all know that the GS attacks are less then 1 hit per sec. So basically unless he hits me with 100B or spins at me (which each hit for more then 1hit per sec) i am going to regen right through his damage. My axe hits 1 then .5sec wait then hits 2 which one takes a sec. so in 3.5 secs i just did 2100hp but not done yet .5sec later i hit 3 times in 3 secs due to the last of the combo. making it 4200hp in 7 secs. Which given an average DPS warrior is 21% of his hp. And lets say the cycle keeps repeating in similar fashion eventually the DPS warrior is not going to be able to heal enough.

To add to my warriors Healing power and toughness would just be a scary thought. Also needs to be balanced accordingly. Also before anyone states the damage of a DPS 100B warrior or that spin attack consider how easy they are to dodge/counter. As a shield warrior i could just pop my shield and block 100% of the damage or use my shield bash to stun after taking 1hit (which forces it end and be on full CD not the 2sec cooldown). Or i could just roll away and advoid it all together while in the same moment still be hitting the DPS warrior.

There is easier then there is way to easy. It is right now so easy i actually wasnt even using skills and just autoattacking them all to death like really come on.

Well from being an interesting fight to get to Zhaitan just got turned into a 1hr snore fest as we would demolish the undead on the airships before they could take a single step. Not only were they so easy to kill that my team got so bored and thought it was more fun to jump overboard to see how far the ground was. Arah needs more difficulty or a complete rework cause right now its a 1hr boring.

Perhaps I am among the minority, but as a player who spent my first 400 hours in game saving for the Triforge amulet, I am worried all my hard work will be for nothing once these new ascended amulets are introduced. Does anyone feel the same?

You’re not alone. I’ve been waiting (probably in vain) for ANet to announce a way that Exotics can be upgraded to Ascended tier items. The introduction of Ascended items basically kills the Crafting disciplines because there is no way that crafters can make items that are as powerful as Ascended items. Weapons and Armor still have a place in that their skins are still visible and players might buy items just to transmute their appearance, but Jewelers are completely out of luck. Why would you even bother levelling Jeweler to 400 (outside of crafting Legendary Gifts) and amassing crafting materials when you can just save up your Laurels and buy an Ascended ring or amulet instead?

Your thinking way to far ahead atm. I believe that they will introduce new recipes for 400 crafting for the ascended gear (mind you it will be more expensive then making exotic). They havnt introduced Ascended Weapons or armour yet. Jeweler is becoming obsolete but all they need to do is introduce a new recipes and then its fixed.

- Now that the temple events tend to sit un-done the annoying mechanics of the God statues comes to the fore – they are incredibly annoying and make an already tough and treacherous task that much less enjoyable, e.g. I was going for a skillpoint underwater, whenever I went near it the statue would tear me up horribly – 400 damage and a bleed every half second (by my reckoning)… the other statues? Random fireballs and random unbreakable stuns – all while the half-dozen nearby Risen are chain-CCing you. Fun? No, and finding a crew to clear a temple is no sure thing anymore, sadly.

I think you forgot about the stupid shrine that causes stun and confusion (Lyssa ones I think), and seems to actively target you instead of being ransom spots (unless that’s how they’re supposed to work). I really hate those ones.

Pretty much agree with everything that’s been said so far in this thread. Orr is just tedious to be in.

Sure we can go back in the world to some lower level content but what’s the point if you don’t get level appropriate drops and materials,…

You do get level appropriate drops.

At a fraction of the drop rate. And materials don’t scale up. To get T6 stuff you have to be in Orr (possibly Frostgorge or dungeons as well, but haven’t been in Frostgorge that long and haven’t done any dungeons yet).

Materials scale up. Easily proved by going to Queen’s Dale and killing a bunch of skale and i bet you that eventually you will get a T6 material and in a faster amount of time due to 2hitting monsters. Hell when i want to farm material i go to Queen’s Dale or to WvWvW where i kill centaurs for their bags. Yes their bags which have a incredibly high drop rate.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aryanization

Aryanization is a term coined during Nazism referring to the forced expulsion of so-called “non-Aryans”, mainly Jews, from business life in Nazi Germany and the territories it controlled. It entailed the transfer of Jewish property into “Aryan” hands in order to “de-Jew the economy”.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dekulakization

Dekulakization was the Soviet campaign of political repressions, including arrests, deportations, and executions of millions of the better-off peasants and their families in 1929-1932. The richer peasants were labeled kulaks and considered class enemies.

So your taking 2 very harmful situations which lead to the entire wealth being in the hands of a select few (namely Hitler and Stallion) in this context? I don’t think they work very well here.

Is Legendary Weapons Worth Crafting?

in Players Helping Players

Suddenflame.2601

Wow a lot of the typical whining on legendaries

-too hard to get
-it’s a grind
-it makes you OP

People want legendaries because they look nice and they make you stand out. When everyone has legendaries then that doesn’t look unique at all. The ‘WOW’ factor is gone.

And then Anet would be forced to make another tier of legendaries, and more people would cry…

I’ve spent 700 hours on this game so far and I have my legendary. It’s humorous when a casual with 200 hours thinks he deserves a legendary just as much as those who actually worked hard and deserved it.

I am a casual with 1,100+ hours, and I still don’t have a Legendary, and I don’t think I will any time soon (probably in a year or two if I ever get it?) I am not whining, nor saying that what you achieved is wrong at all, but just letting you know that your experience is probably on the extreme minority, given that I rarely notice anyone wielding Legendaries. Thus, time by itself means nothing, as I have just chosen to enjoy the game in other ways other than striving to get a Legendary (note, this is not a personal attack, and congrats on such an early acquisition of your weapon of choice.)

whoa whoa dude casual with 1000+ hours? really? not your casual any more your playing hard core style considering. Anyone could do the math and realize your playing more then a full time job at this game. Im casual with less then 500 hours played since game release + head start.

Ban Market Manipulators too

Reading every post here i have to say you guys either never played other MMOs with a trading post or something. For starters lets look at Diablo 3 where they prevent you from reselling items you bought on the Auction House. The items on it are inflated as can be to the billions of gold which would take a new person years to get legally. The economy is not there and what is there is a broken husk that shouldnt even be there. And some of the items sold in that Action House for real money are in the hundreds to thousands of real USD.

Eve, WoW, GW2 all allow market manipulation as does real life (no laws against you buying something for cheaper and reselling it for higher small groceries stores do it all the time you do realize). Smaller groceries stores (market Manipulators) often go to places such as Walmart(Trading Post) buy out the entire stock and resell it at 2X the price. Is there a law against that in any country? no there isn’t which is what you guys are trying to propose to the government (Anet). Try it in real life and see that goes. Its how Captializism works guys so buckle up and take it for a rough ride. Plus your not limited to just buying it from the Trading Post there is really easy methods to get materials. Find a creature of the lvl of item you want to get (lets say you need lvl20 materials), in this case the creature that i would choose is centaurs cause the drop rate of their bag is extremely high which gives a random material. If i need blood i go kill harpies which drop blood at extremely high rate. Lvl80 materials i find easier in WvW or in Orr. Salvage kits become your friend as if i were to sell all the materials i gained from buying cheap salvage kits (just the basic ones will do) i would have hundreds of gold i earned myself.

Creating Legendary items needs to be changed

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Suddenflame.2601

Suddenflame.2601

sure its difficult and not impossible to get one.

it just seems so freakishly boring..

legendary. the weapon should have a story behind it, there should be some sort of story to acquiring it with its own challenges and the likes on the way. not a legendary amount of farming/doodling on the auction house. just makes the game feel more like an auction house simulator a la diablo 3.

You know it’s cute how everyone says “make it skill-based” or “challenging” but no one provides specific ideas.

If you make it skill based, the casuals will complain. And how the heck can you make something ‘skill’ based in an MMO s complicated as this one?

How are you going to make it so difficult that it won’t result in every single player having a legendary?

Easy have a starting 5v5 PVP match (shows you can work as a team or at least better then your enemy) then a solo mad king jumping puzzle style (less then 10% of the people could beat it), then add at the top of the tower a PVP match between 2 people from 2 different servers compete winner ascends while the loser gets sent back to start. Then add a mob of monsters which you have to kill. After all that you are presented with a chest which opens to give you your legendary.

I know honestly i would have a hard time completing this. NO BOT would be able to beat it and it is also very very skill based with only the best of the best achieving the legendary weapon while demostrating all possible aspects of the game.

5 signet/zerker warriors everywhere

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Suddenflame.2601

Suddenflame.2601

Most of my items are zerker, a few toughness/vitality. I run 4 signets+great justice. I don’t have much problems with dying constantly. Although it does happen when dodge fails (50%) and I get 1 shot by the boss.

I’ve tried other builds, but the cooldowns on condition removers are way to long for me to give up a passive signet. Especially when the mobs spam those conditions (including stun, knockdown, etc..). When i did use the other skills this is how the fights went.
Stun: use break
knockback —> SOL
start getting up, get hit with a daze

Get some bleeds and a poison on you
Shake it off (by the way the signet removes ALL conditions so it’s better anyway)
.0005 secs later get another stack of bleeds on you, and probably knocked down again just for giggles)

It’s just not worth it.

With Dodge and most other movement abilities (charges, jump backs, etc..) being broken and not firing off, or leaving you standing in the same spot after, none of that other crap matters anyway.
Besides Anets concept of ‘fun’ combat is waypoint zerging the bosses continuously until you wear through their stupid amounts of HP 15 minutes later.

Anet just needs to fix their dam game before there’s no one left to optimize the builds anyway.

Signet can not be used as a stun breaker therefor your argument for it is failing considering you mention knock down a lot which the signet does not help you with. The signet removes all conditions once every 40secs. Shake it off removes 1 condition and 1 stun breaker every 20secs. So by your arguement about daze and knockdown “shake it off” is the better option. I run Signet of Regen, banner of tactics (full traited), “Shake it Off”, “For Great Justice”, and Signet of Rage. My armour is Power/Toughness/Vit, with my accessories being Healing/Power/Toughness.

I battle in WvW on the side of Stormbluff and i am one tough warrior. I am one of the warriors that charge into large groups of enemies and able to live through it. I use a Sword/Shield, Axe/Shield, Hammer, and rifle (I switch out the sword, axe, Hammer based on the situation i am going to be facing).

My point was I QUIT using Shake it off and went back to the signet because the cooldown took longer than the stun/CC spam. So I’f i’m going to get CC’d constantly anyway (mostly because dodge is broke) I might as well remove all OTHER conditions instead of just 1 at a time.

Personally I can’t stand CC in games. Removing control of your character adds nothing to the game and only frustrates players.
I can’t believe some idiot dev actually put it on EVERY single mob in this game and topped it off by letting the mobs spam it. Actually I can belive some idiot dev had that idea, but I can’t believe it got approved to be added as ‘gameplay’.

I’m sorry to say dude but idk what your doing wrong but i have no issues what so ever with it. And its in the game to add some diversity and challenge to it. Only mob that can keep me down is Centaurs but once you reach lvl80 they cant do overly much or at least shouldnt. Orr just has a few dazes and knock downs which shouldnt be an issue unless your pulling like 10 of them at once. In WvW knockdown, stun, immobolize are used a lot and your signet will have no effect and you would be dead before you could even get it off. On a 20sec cool down its far more useful then the signet. At most i have 3 conditions on me (poison, bleeding, vulnerability). Bleeding does not stack duration nor does vulnerability therefor i do not care about them as much and want my shake it off to remove poison which does. unless of course i have like 12 stacks of bleeding or vulnerability on me during a fight then i want to remove those first. With 6/6 runes of melandru on me I dont care about short duration conditions (burning hits me then is gone in less then 1 sec). Or you could trait the shout so that it removes 2 conditions. You could also trait the shout so that it automatically removes conditions when you have more then 2. Therefor you could remove 3 conditions + stun breaker that has a CD of 20secs. Hell its rare to have 4 conditions on a character at a single time.

5 signet/zerker warriors everywhere

When will Ascended Gear be released?

Right now everything can only be given by Fractorials but eventually everything can be gianed in other ways. Such as rings and backpacks will first be introduced in other areas with lower costs of being made via crafting. They will be adding them to dungeons as well apparently and adding them to the drop tables as well. They are also considering WvW only skins for said gears. They are going to introduce Ascended weapons and armour. THey are eventually also going to introduce new legendary weapons and armour.

My warrior i built, Healing power/ Toughness/ vit/ power in mind (using my jewerly and armour). The goal of my warrior is to draw the hate of the enemy and make it focus on me while my ally takes it down. I also do a fair amount of a damage. Im tanky but not a full fledged tank in the regards that i just dont stand there and take it. I move around the enemy and ensure some of its attacks miss. I also use a shield to block potentially deadly attacks.

And how do you make the mob hit you, when a thief with a backstab/crit build is tripling/quadrupling your DPS, since you are focusing on “tanking”. I guarantee your dps is no where near that of a glass cannon thief, or elementalist.

full DPS ele deals around 2k of damage to a target that i can equally do 800damage per hit. Sure i lose a large amount of damage but at the same time without me that 2k of damage ele would be dead in matter of seconds (usually just 1 hit) where as my dude can take the beating. Only 1 boss has ever 1 shotted my character and it was a bandit on the Asura path of CM. I kept missing my block and dodge by my poor timing kitten 4am play times). As long as my character is significantly impacting the team i can sleep at night. I have been known to take on Group Events by myself such as a fractual boss event i managed to solo 3 bosses of factural by myself. Not to mention other Group events that i can handle. DPS have their role but in the grand scheme of things when playing solo they will die far more often then my character. Plus i can always drag a fight out and win.

Just because there is no Holy Trinity doesn’t mean that specialized roles are useless.

As for tanking… have you ever been in Twilight Arbour Explorable? When I go in there with my Guardian I pretty much take all the attacks from the Vine and the Spider boss, and if I go down, and don’t rally quickly, there is a very real risk of a wipe that otherwise did not exist.

Also, as a Hammer/Staff Guardian using Altruistic Healing (poorly named trait, as it encourages you to be greedy with your buffs), there is a great amount of damage mitigation provided, especially when I am able to keep the attention of enemies, or body-block projectiles that are heading to my allies.

Note: my Guardian build also puts out a lot of damage, so its not like I am just a one dimensional Guardian.

Sorry, but I highly doubt that you take most of the hits from the spider boss. Aggro management is nearly impossible in this game since there arent any aggro modifiers or aggro specific abilities. Not to mention, I dont think its a matter of highest dps = aggro. I remember an Anet post saying the system takes into account dps, armor type, and range.

The spider boss moves all over. Ive never seen someone keep him still for more than a few seconds.

Your partially right. The system is called “hate”. Every boss has a specific hate generator with characteristic innate to them. Such as one boss will prefer heavy armoured close range, while another boss will prefer heavy armoured Long range. One thing that generates hate on 90% of bosses is rezing a downed player. Also bosses will sometimes choose the person causing the most conditions on them. My warrior i designed him to try to control all types of bosses. If i am not the type of character the boss hate generator wants i improvise by trying to give the target of his hate a chance to escape. In general i find that my character becomes the target so well most times that i can run in circles with my entire group shooting it and it will chase me to its death.

One Example is Kohl in AC. His target will always be the character with the most toughness no matter what range. Only way to peel him from that character is 1: character jumps into water. 2: tough character dies, 3: tough character downed or exceeds range while another character applies large amounts of conditions.

Cave troll in AC will focus tough characters as well but tests shown that the cave troll will focus a warrior with a rifle more then a warrior with a shield. making ranged heavy armour a primary focus of the cave troll. As far as i can tell nothing will break the cave troll hate on a rifle warrior even jumping in the water just makes the troll move around to the stair case that the warrior is coming up. Death is the only breakage from the trolls hate.

Nodes moving?!

Nodes were orginally intended to move on a daily basis (just so you couldnt follow a map to get them all as fast as possible). They could have finally got it to work.

Waypoint Costs are a Problem!

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

“Closest Waypoint is Free”

You know, I have yet to see this. Every time I have died, the closest waypoint was not free for me. I have always had to pay. And it’s not because there is a closer waypoint. I am literally right next to a waypoint sometimes when I die, and yet I still have to pay to teleport to it. So from my personal experience, this is not true.

But I do agree that waypoints are rather expensive.

They should be a static fee. No matter what level you are. It just seems silly that when I am level 10, and use a waypoint, it is only a few copper. Yet if I use that exact same waypoint at level 80, it is a few silver. It doesn’t make any sense why it should be more expensive because I am a higher level. If anything, it should be cheaper because I am a more accomplished hero and have done so much for Tyria that waypoints should be on the house for all my heroic deeds. Yet the newbie swinging a wooden sword and wearing his helmet backwards is getting cheaper rates than the Grand Hero of Tyria.

You misunderstand what he was orginally posting too. The closest waypoint is free if you can not afford to teleport (such as 0 money all together).

The primary cause of the current inflation is the Ascended gear requirements that quite frankly are just over the top.

Everyone is rushing for their ascended gear and spending loads of money into them. I on the other hand is waiting patiently for the changes to come (and they will come). The cost of making them will decrease along with multiple avenues of gaining Ascended gear will be open. I do not need Ascended to face roll people in WvW. Plus i just started playing in PvP and realizing i am actually pretty good at it in this game. Mind you i have been doing far less PvE now. Just WvW and PvP. I blame University for it tho.
