I hope we, TC, get to be back in T2 next week instead of waiting another week. T3 started off terrible on the forums, but it seems that our opponents are doing much better on the Forums and such have started to perform better on the battlefield with a cleansed mind (partially) of hate, trollish, and other negative thoughts.

Miss you KA and FA, this matchup will be awesome. Also, keep it up, KA! We said we’d cheer you on and you’re doing well.

Everybody at FA is hoping TC bumps up this week.

P.S. TC up there with you might even make it more lopsided towards Kaineng since from what I know TC and FA lack sea/euro coverage and are stronger in NA no? Which means you both hinder each others points competing during NA time whilst Kaineng continues to steamroll oceanic/sea time and create bigger lead ;D

Thanks for the replies, though I still didn’t believe them. So I had to try it out for myself. I’ve been playing WvW non-stop since pre-launch and I just learned this. hehe.

We learned alot of little tricks when we hit Tier 2. I pride myself on trying to be on the right piece of siege in the right spot at the right time ;P

Tier 2 and Tier 1 are just light years ahead in tactics and open field strategy and this should be a lesson to anyone who is in tier 1 or 2 and would even consider dropping down on purpose… you will probably get bored fast.

I wouldn’t say that is completely true. [AoN] from DB is really strong, and I wouldn’t be surprised if there are at least a few other DB and Mags WvW Guilds that are also really tactically strong – it’s just they are either taking the week off against the “Zombie Horde” or their tactical strengths are in the 5-15 player group range.

What I would say is T2 offers a lot more tactical variety than T3 (at least our current match-up). There are a lot of large group strategies you just simply can’t pull off with the average player-base of a T3.

Well the proof is on the field. DB reminds me alot of TC when we we’re in T3 so its not as if they can’t learn. They certainly field alot of people and they have a really great understanding of defensive siege but we have yet to really be challenged by any guild on any map.

I’m just one person in one guild so others may disagree, but once you have had a taste of matching against really good guilds its hard to take a step back and just stand outside of a gate with rams anymore. As for AoN, I don’t think I’ve seen them yet. Not sure if PiNK has when I wasn’t around.

All I can say is at least Yaks and Mag can drop down a tier and clean up every few weeks to make themselves feel better. Dragonbrand has been stuck in the middle (as the only true tier 3 server) and gets defeated by the T2’s that come down. No fun at all. And there is no change in site.

Its possible that you will be the king of this tier within the next 2 weeks

It’s not a huge deal. It’s nice to get alot of our pve folks in to finish their legendaries and most of them seem excited and want to come back. We can just ride this momentum straight back into tier 2. I think alot of us miss the competition though. There will probably always be bad blood between us and FA, and maybe some of that competitive spirit isn’t all bad. But truly, if there was any server that was near the same situation TC is in, its FA. One night in Tier 3 was enough to show me that you guys don’t really belong in T3 anymore than we do, and I think I’d much rather be beat in Tier 2 than relax in Tier 3. As much as I’d hate to see another server die, It would be really great to have a FA/TC/Kain matchup. Cya guys soon.

Many of us on FA will never forget the months of TC talking down to us, telling us the reason why TC had improved so much was hard work and improved tactics and not the transfers TC had received, that FA was full of terrible players. TC probably won’t forget the great dolyak slaughter that it culminated into, followed by the threats of forcing us down to tier 4.

In a way TC helped shape FA by filtering out those who didn’t have the fighting spirit to not give up despite fighting overwhelming numbers and establishing a community that attracted similar minds from IOJ. I’m glad for that, but I hate TC for it. I can’t wait to fight you guys again because I know there will be hundreds of RPers lining up to pay tribute to my daggers in the form of loot bags.

So for now I say Good Luck In Tier Three [TC]. You failed to send us to tier 4 but we did get to return the favor and send you to tier 3.

Alot of people who were able to do lots of aoe damage were already getting these kinds of rewards for the last few months, which kind of shows the disconnect between people who felt rewarded in wvw and those who didn’t. Its nice finally getting rewarded on my alts and not just my main

We have a very good reset. If Magooma provides a great battle for those 4 hours I will be content with Tier 3.

Doesn’t really paint JQ, Tier 1, or WvW in a great light. Its alot more impressive when you take a fully fortified keep thats actually defended and had to sacrafice a tower or 2 to get it. I think too many of you on JQ have forgotten why you even liked wvw in the first place.

Don’t be too hard on FA. They are completely right in needing more to stay competitive in Tier 2. People really have no clue the jump in populations between tier 3 to tier 2 and whether they go against SoS or BG 3.0, its going to be an uphill battle. I think FA and Kaineng are pretty even on N/A, but kaineng will shoot ahead by leaps and bounds every night when WM logs in. So show them a little respect and stop trying to bring them down for wanting to build and become better.

Lots of nice words for TC in this thread. The truth is, transfers or no, we will be fine. Someone from SoR once asked me why I would even want to get to Tier 1 in the first place, with it being so nasty. I thought about it and realized that TC carries this atmosphere with us and someday I believe we will bring it to Tier 1 too.

There are a ton of people on T1 in great guilds watching in horror as sportsmanship and fair play are tossed aside for win at all costs and hurt whomever it takes to get to the top attitudes. They want to win, but they think there is a better way to do it and it starts with respect for the other side. They might be lured to band wagon for a quick fix but if they plan to stick with wvw longterm they are going to want more. TC has that.

We don’t need more guilds to win, we just want to invite everyone to our way of doing things. Winning might happen in the process though.

Points have to come from somewhere. In wvw, each side targets the weakest side first. So it follows, if you are being targeted, you are presenting a weaker target. If you can wipe their groups a couple times, they will think twice before coming for you, but you can’t expect them not to continue to take points from you if they are able to take them. This is an opportunist playstyle and quite effective when a Powerhouse like BG can pretty much do anything they want on your own borderland.

Poor FA has to meet up with the first week of BG 3.0.

I hate that he can be so casually truthful on reddit because he is addressing the Guildwars 2 PvE community, and not just the small subset of wvw players that he ignores on his own subforum. For weeks our pleas for answers on both the reduction in pop caps and the queue issue were disregarded, allowing over 5 threads to be permeated with truth, untruth, fact and fiction when he knew all the while it was true and said nothing. That sort of shadiness doesn’t sit well with me and I now have zero respect for this person and his messages.

The thing that keeps tiers from getting stale to me are all the diferent guild matchups that happen every night. Some nights its PiNK v. KnT and Icoa, then the next it might be us defending against WM, HB and FoE, then us playing offense against Agg and FoE and Ret. Then of course there’s all of our great TC guilds we get to work with as well from night to night. This GvGvG is the real meat of the wvw sandwich and if your guild spends more time against doors or militia than guilds, your going to get bored pretty quickly.

Stop blaming the glicko system. Its people. This system doesn’t work if someone isn’t okay being second or third place. The tier 1 merry-go-round will continue on and on and on no matter what system they use because of a huge mass of fair weather players and guilds in the top 4 servers. What happens if BG gets to T1 and loses to JQ? Stay tuned and find out.

I am honestly surprised that no European or Oceanic time slot guilds have jumped at the chance to move to Tarnished Coast. There is no better place for your guild to have an immediate impact on the score and face top notch competition like WM and HB from the start. Our NA is highly skilled despite having to work from scratch every day when we log in without waypoints and reinforced gates.

Sooner or later, someone will come, why not you?
