Okay, why do people keep posting WvWvW vids to show how “broken” a class is instead of SPvP?

So just an update. 9 are available on the trading post now.

They are going for around 650-700 a piece.

A bit off topic I listened a bit of “but of corpse” but the quality on the audio is pretty bad. There’s some fan going on in the back and you guys are way too quiet. The audio isn’t leveled either and it makes it really distracting. Not only that buy I hear the clicking of your mouse and other such noises, which makes me think your audio set-up is just not up to snuff.

I know you’re trying to promote your twitch channel, and I can appreciate that. But with so many podcasts out there, it doesn’t leave me wanting more. I can’t even hear what you guys have to say and all the other noise is too distracting for me to listen to more then 10 minutes.

Rifle is good even without a single trait in it, thus if youre 99% using a greatsword, then you’re in a pug that can’t support your zerking on a boss. A rifle secondary is great as it can do the damage without you investing a whole ton of traits into it.

If you’re a condition warrior it’s a different story. But again, if you’re just built for damage, the rifle makes a solid secondary choice for PvE. I can put a lot more damage into a boss for a lot less sacrifice on traits.

Halloween items are more rare then precursors.

So, I was super excited for this year of halloween as I could finally complete my character and get a Greatsaw Greatsword Skin. Or the Scythe Skin for that matter!

However I am now concerned I will never aquire the skin. RNG gods are not fond of me and there’s not a single one on the Trading Post.

It’s actually more rare now then Legendaries, which is silly.

Are these returning? Are the forever going to be only on a few people like event hats and the like.

I would love the Bat skin if I had a necromancer that could wield a Greatsword.

Any word on these returning, or appearing someplace else for the event? I would love to know.

Rifle is good for PvE when melee isn’t an option.

Otherwise Longbow is more a WvW weapon.

I like my rifle because it’s on my charr and it’s a charrzooka. That’s why I use it.

You need over 4 million points to max it out. It’s going to take a while for the average person. Those who do will enjoy the benefits of an account wide 300% magic find and the ability to sell all those greens and blues again.

This is mostly so that people don’t just run through areas. I agree that it can be a little annoying, but that’s what Swiftness is for.

Perhaps we just play at different times, I see thieves clogging up solo-queue when I play.

That said, you should also note that Warrior is the most played class in the game. It’s not a wonder a lot of players play them.

That pic means nothing. When I solo-queue I see a majority of players playing thieves. I wouldn’t say they’re that broken.

Why WvW vids and not sPvP?

My post was about those few instances. I have seen a few solo gigantus videos, but in an actual team-fight with a PUG he’s a lot tougher (not being able to predict moves as easily, party members not specced in certain areas, etc.). And most likely you’re not soloing Arah. I will take my rifle on Gigantus over a Axe/Axe any day of the week when actually doing Arah with a PUG.

I have a guildie making ascended materials for 60g and selling them back for around 100g.

I guess this is what ANet wanted when they made Ascended weapons via crafting?

I still say don’t waste your cash. Save it for Ascended materials.

Farming fractals for days, I haven’t recieved a single vial of condensed essence. meanwhile guildies pick up 2-3 globs per run. It sucks.

Problem is they need to do it that way or a 0.0000000000000000000000000000000000000000001 % chance. Looks how many people complain about the rate of gain on precursors.

Otherwise it is just not rare or progression.

Legendary weapons are a different matter entirely. Ascended aren’t meant to be rare, just top-tier. Like exotics were before the last patch.

The main activity and activity promoted by Anet is by no means “the game”. There are hundreds other things to do than doing this very importat thing and they are fun. The game loses it’s value due to this not-fun activity but still is fun thanks to quantity of other fun activities. Should I add “to me”? Clear now?

Fun is subjective. When you say “the game is not fun” and “the game is not fun to me”. You’re saying exactly the same thing.

Some people enjoy crafting. I would rather have ArenaNet add more options, and not take away options other people enjoy. I personally don’t enjoy crafting, but if I had another way of getting the items, I wouldn’t mind.

I don’t know if Zerker Warrior could be considered FOTM, more like FOTY.

I would just play with Zerker rares, dungeon farm for exotics. Then spend that money on crafting Ascended items.

Or something like that. Really your choice.

I understand them not having it right away. These things take time. But I wish we heard some plans on non-crafting ways of getting these items. Even if it’s 6 months from now.

Actually, ditching ranged weapons is the first thing you should do when you start running dungeons.

Depends on the dungeon. Some bosses are just not melee-able. I would never fight Gigantus or some of the fractal bosses with my greatsword.

I hate it when people say this. Unless you have worked with their engine before, you have no idea how easy/hard it would be to implement.

I like the flamethrower the engineers have way more then any legendary in the game…

Seems to me they were not happy with how “easy” exotics were to get. Doesn’t bode well for adding multiple avenues for getting these new ascended items, or if they do I am sure they will still be time gated in some way because he pretty clearly states he likes the time frames they are now using. Makes sense given what he said that they nerfed karma gain across the board back to slightly better than it was before they added karma from dailies. So I think they are still just basically trying to poke around and see the format they want to use, and it’s probably not static and will most likely change in response to player fluctuation numbers.

I would really like there to be a way to earn an ascended weapon though. Like I said, 100 laurels for a single weapon would be fine with me. As long as I can earn my weapon just by playing the game, instead of leveling up various crafting professions.

I dunno. I play Guild Wars 2 to kill things. I love how dungeon tokens, laurels, etc. work. I don’t mind adding more of that stuff in the game. Instead of having to sink a ton of gold into crafting materials just to get to the level of crafting I need to make a weapon so that I can kill things 10% faster.

I already addressed that.

Crafting is all well and good. I don’t mind people crafting things in MMOs or any other games. However I feel that it detracts from the game itself when I have to craft a weapon, and that’s the only way to get it. Legendaries make sense that you have to craft things, as they’re just giant money pits. But Ascended weapons need something different.

I would like to have a way to “earn” ascended gear. Much like I can earn exotic or ascended trinkets/rings.

Weaponsmithing for me is a long haul, it’s not just getting the materials to craft the weapon, but the materials to go from 1-400 as well. It’s expensive and tedious for me.

I don’t care if it’s something like 100 laurels for a single piece. As long as I can earn it in some respect in the future.

I am aware they have a chance to drop, but I have farmed fractals for a single vial of essence for a back piece for a month and I have yet to have an ascended piece. It’s infuriating to have to sit on RNG on a game with so many currencies in it. Especially now that dungeon armor is obsolete.

Just my two cents.

Rifle + sPvP doesn’t mix well, mainly due to the conquest style of the maps.

If you want an enemy off of a point. Longbow because of the AoEs and Conditions works okay. But the rifle, even with pierce. Just doesn’t work too well. Melee weapons can make an enemy get off of a point way better then a rifle, with the exception of the rifle butt skill + cripple.

Rifle is pretty great in PvE and can be okay in WvW as well.

I am having the same issue. My main character hasn’t got the birthday gifts, however all my level 2 alts that I never play have gotten the gifts just fine.

Abaddon didn’t take claim for past stories for Prophecies or Factions. He just took the bosses and put them together for a boss fight.

Having come from Champions Online. Scarlet is more cartoony and silver-age supervillian then anything that game has combined.

Rampage gets rid of your adrenaline bar. As far as I see no traits that scale based on the adrenaline bar work while transformed.

Rampage doesn’t get bonuses to physical skill traits, because it’s a transformation and the skills provided are not considered anything specific.

Rampage has a long cooldown and only lasts around 20 seconds.

Rampage has no way to self heal, and you can’t use Adrenal Health to compensate for that because as I said before, the adrenaline bar and benefits from that go away.

Most of the skills that do damage have long cooldowns themselves. Meaning you’ll only use them once or twice per transformation.

The only good things I can think of for rampage is Stability, Swiftness, Running away potential (because that’s what hulk does when he’s rampaging) and the fact it makes you look bigger and you get awesome stompy footsteps.

Whenever I try and launch the client, it white-screens then asks me to send a bug report. This didn’t happen before the new patch, now I can’t even play the game

This build is finely tuned for top damage. The necessary trade off for high lethality is high fragility. For this reason the defense shield provides is crucial to the build. Your choice for Warhorn is mistaken. The AoE Weakness (6 sec) & Vigor (10 sec) is inferior to Block (3 sec) in terms of keeping you alive under focus pressure. Even the Vigor granted is less than optimal considering you already have 50% stamina regeneration from the signet.

I don’t agree with this way of thinking. The shield isn’t going to provide enough defense for your opponent to care. Vigor + Signet of Stamina stack. Meaning dodging is way more viable. Combined with an energy sigil and you get a lot more dodging out of this build. Dodge > Block mainly because you get a lot more damage mitigation from it and conditions don’t go through dodge but they do to block, and the meta is really condition heavy right now.

If the idea of this build is to hide behind your bunker and kill from the back lines, then again I think a melee build works better for that. An issue being that Conquest forces you to be up close and personal, and a warrior can get an opponent off of a point way better swinging a sword, then shooting a rifle.

My problem is birthday rewards based off of character date created. I have 4 level 2 characters I made day 1 because I knew this was going to happen due to Guild Wars 1.

Meaning if I want to have birthday stuff x5 (including my 80) I have to keep them and buy a new character slot.

All that said, I really don’t care about changing race too much. I can, as I said before, just buy a new character slot and level it to 80 in less then a week if I really want to.

Anet needs to hire an economist apparently, because they’re really not doing too well by themselves and they just keep digging a deeper grave each time they cater to the casuals and make loot easier to get.

They have hired an economist. He probably knows way more about the economy in and out of Guild Wars then a lot of people. Go poke around the Black Lion Trading Post subforum. You’ll see that he knows full well what he’s talking about.

So I tested this out a few times in hot-join. Moved a couple signets and runes around but pretty much the same. I went with healing surge instead of Healing signet because without adrenal health, the passive regen just doesn’t work and with healing surge you can get adrenaline a lot faster, you lose 40 precision but it’s worth it.

Also went sword/warhorn as this is supposed to be a rifle build. The warhorn will give weakness and mobility for pvp maps, as well as some condition breaks on Charge. I also went with signet of might/stamina/dolyak as that covers the bases more in my opinion.

One thing I will say is that while the damage is nice, the fact that it is so squishy really hurts it a lot. Enemies even eles and the like, will go right up in your face and totally ruin your shot. Bunkers don’t seem to mind the damage output from the rifle either, as the lack of power behind your attacks isn’t helping.

Overall I think warriors are just better at damage in melee. This seems like a fun PvE build, but in a mode that requires you to be close-up to enemies like Conquest. I don’t see the PvP viability versus going GS or Axe/Axe. Melee just does more damage period for the warrior.

Man, I regretted not having the cash to buy a Greatsaw because it was hidden in RNG and at the time I didn’t have the cash in the trading post.

This is game development 101. Almost every game developer does this once the product is released. The people they don’t need they trim the fat off, because guess what. They don’t need them any more.

Any race makes good warriors.

That said, Battle Roar is helpful in getting extra ticks of Might and Fury.

Pick for looks you want though, not racials. I personally like charr because they’re the biggest race (when not hunched over). Plus they’re more interesting then some of the other races.

But that’s me.

Battle roar + For Great Justice + Signet Of Rage = Fury+Might stacker.

So charr for me.

But really, go for looks, as most of the racials are “meh” at best.

You won’t lose any currency that’s in your account wallet.

That said, just take a break if the game is getting boring. Helps me a lot.

So I shot the bad guy at this event and it died. Everyone now said they are going to report me for botting and gold farming (Edit: I mean accusing me of gold selling) to get me banned.

Now I am actually concerned I will be banned.
