I concur with the OP.
- It’s sad that this isn’t something the players were able to work around, but there it is.
- Needs developer intervention.
I’m guessing that the guild upgrades weren’t behind a 3 month paywall in the beta, lol?
Now that the HoT meta is starting to settle anyone else notice that a handful of elites have become nearly unkillable in skirmish without heavy focus and many of these builds maintain a solid DPS?
Sustain has become too prolific in my opinion at least on builds that can output decent DPS. I have completely stopped engaging Dragon Hunters, Tempests and Scrappers. Any of the bunker Chronomancers also get a pass.
Not sure if this is a good or bad thing but a lot of fights have become an exercise in futility or a bring three friends sort of deal.
This is where being rubbish at 1v1 has it’s benefits. I can’t tell if someone amazing killed me or whether is was an OP class. I’ll always say it’s an OP class tbh.
In regards to PPK, can you implement it so that its in favor of the losing server?
For example:
Winning Server: 1 PPK
Middle Server: 2 PPK
Losing server: 3 PPKThis would make the fights much more interesting and give a chance to the losing servers to catch up.
I’ve suggested giving benefits to whichever server is losing at any one time and it seems (from the tidbits they’ve said) they have problems grabbing the numbers from the scores, for reasons which bemuse the small-time programmer in me.
Thanks Reyana and Anet, I think these will be popular changes – too late for my purgatory server, but I hope everyone else enjoys them.
This is a disgrace.
I just finished Nevermore and paid 2x as much as all the people with new ones.
These sorts of changes really make me lose faith in the competence of economists.
We all know the system is broken at the moment.
It’s my opinion that servers should move around more quickly. A temporary measure that would help for the time being.
My server is always beaten in our matchup and can’t get relegated. Individuals and guilds quit every week and we still can’t go down.
This seems like a quick and easy fix to tide us over until we get the awaited WvW Patch.

Just leave a reply if you became a guardian to heal and protect your allies.
Pretty much. I wanted to play a traditional tank.
If you see “Overpopulation” debuff on your bar, you know it’s time to call your PvE mates for a karmatrain.
How can they be different? And which one is right? We were in TD near Ley Line Confluence Waypoint.
I was impressed with the speed with which these are being fixed. Well done fixers.
I got guild Gathering Boost from the guild hall (chequered shield icon 24hour buff),
I clicked a Gathering+SomethingElse banner,
So far so good.
BUT: Several minutes later,
I clicked a Guild Surveying Banner,
My Guild Gathering Boost (sickle icon) didn’t refresh back to 30 minutes as it should have.
When my timer ran out I went back to click the Surveying banner and it worked as normal (sickle icon appeared, 30 mins buff).
To test I then re-clicked the Surveying banner and the timer refreshed at 30 mins as per normal.

I have some sympathy with the OP but I don’t want to have to spend 1g+ on an upgrade.
agreed completely, one of the biggest sellers for GW2 is the graphics,
turning a powerful fireball into a laughable pixel is a sure way to tell your customers that you are utterly clueless about what this game needs.
but hey, churn out afew more lame outfits and i’m sure the game will be soooo much better.
clueless…But dont you know? Outfits are the best thing ever. No class identity needed, not much work needed and they can “make stuff that doesnt fit any armor class”…like basically all but two or three outfits they released up to this point. Oh look.. today we got a heavy armor outfit that would really make some great combinations with norn armor…or charr armor but nope outfit it is.. cause we here at arenanet dont give a darn about armor personality anymore. Here have these three + the mistward set in this 50 bucks x-pac and that handfull of spec armor pieces cause full armor would be a waste, buy outfits! Be a storm trooper! Bah.. even reading the word “outfit” makes my salt encrusted blood boil.
First the +5 supply goes, now the waypoints ….
Whatever next? Towers? Keeps? Enemies?!
When they tried this last time, enough people complained here to stop them. It could happen again, if anybody cared anymore.
Did you notice that while the population is low and maps unpopular, they have squeezed out this little gem for the second time:
Fixed a bug that allowed contestable keep waypoints to be available for a few seconds in between repel events.
I like what Diku is trying to do because WvW
D___ E___ S___ P___ E___ R___ A___ T___ E___ L___ Y___
needs a solution to the problems of populations and matchups.
I’m not sure Diku’s is the best solution, but at this stage I’ll take anything. ANYTHING.
Our server’s core community is twiddling it’s thumbs waiting for the next match, playing Fallout4 another game and eyeing Camelot Unchained and Crowfall upcoming Realm-vs-Realm-style games with relish.
You didnt “suffer” anything, obviously few on your servers even tried. Will this weeks matchup be any different?
Well, I don’t intend to give you any more lootbags. I’ve had more than enough of being constantly out-blobbed.
[edit] …and frankly, I find it ironic that a representative from a server that intentionally failed to turn up to it’s own tier games and dropped into matchups with mid-to-low tier servers has the cheek to ask us to turn up to fight them.
(edited by Svarty.8019)
Is there a source of these yet?
Lack of Tactivators = Lacktivators™
My work here is done.
Deso got invaded by a bunch of bandwagonning guilds
That was during the second “tournament” all those years ago, though!
Most of the TACTIVATOR activations are defensive. Where are they? Behind impossible paywall.
Someone today told me Guild AC costs 15g!
And… no change in this week’s balance patch. ><
Last week was a write off. Now we have to suffer another week of bullcrap because the matchup system says that wasn’t enough of a beating.
GG Glick9
I am a new player, about 1 month. First experience with WvW was randomly going to borderlands, run around half an hour thinking man this sucks, i am out of here, back to pve content. Than accidentally found EB and spent 1 week in there having a lot of fun even if outnumbered all the time. I think that resumes the overall feeling.
This, and I’ve been played since the first stress-test before the first launch of the game. And im not alone – I’ve had over 20 friends that played hardcore WvW before expansion – now.. 2 is still in the game but doesn’t play wvw – gg anet.
You’re not going to blame it on a map, are you?
More than likely it’s;
- Burnout
- Fallout 4/other games
- GW2 PvE content taking people away from WvW
- Catch 22: lack of people in WvW leads to lack of people in WvW, and then the issues they are addressing in future (according to John)…
- Glick0/uneven machups
- "Night"capping
- etc…
Remember the video where they show us all the fancy things we will never be able to use?
Obviously, I’m expecting a rebalance.
(edited by Svarty.8019)
Gear. That is all.

No old borders please.
This is a big deal and doesn’t deserve to float down the forum while people’s whines about the beautiful new borderland map infest the first page.
A better question would be : “Can we get the old population back, please?”
Will Anet address any of the issues being asked on these forums regarding WvW?
They did.

Copy-Pasting this here for you:
I think [..] a lot of us felt that what John had stated wasn’t actually true after Colin’s recent interview on MMORPG.com.
Let’s remember Mike O’Brien’s statement
We’ve set a clear policy in the past year: we don’t talk speculatively about future development. We don’t want to string you along.
Colin reiterates this in the interview:
we still have work to do to address core fundamental issues like population balance, rewards, scoring, night capping, etc. As always we don’t discuss features in development until they are far enough along to share meaningful details, so for now we’ll just say WvW is the final big game system on our radar
Despite being unable to talk about things in development for fear of stringing us along, I think some of us (I know I am guilty of this) expected a little more communication when John said
As this effort ramps up you will be hearing more from us about the work in progress.
Anyway, that’s a recap of where we are.
T H E R E W I L L N O T B E FUN !
An easy one. WvW is the endgame
More and more the game seems only for those who are willing to spend ten hours a day farming materials or willing to pull out the wallet and buy your way to progress.
Free to play in a nut shell.
I think there’s a glut of items. Some people have banks saved up full of stacks. Arenanet have put in a system for removing those stacks from people that has a one-off cost. It sort of makes sense when seen in this context. I am sad for tiny guilds and new players, though.
TY, I just finished the act.1 and crafted the first step of the precursor (Jesus, it was very expensive)
Now I’m on act.2
So the Dragon Stand tower destroyer thing ISN’T bugged?
I just got it earlier without realizing it.
You should patchnotes, it was fixed a while ago.
I was never actively going for it. I was just simply commenting that I had gotten it earlier without realizing it was for the collection.
Confirmed. This worked for me on the bottom tower. I had tried previously but got no reward from centre tower.

Has anyone experienced any difficulty trying to find a map working towards completing the meta event?
I seem to play during times where there are too few maps or people do not want to attempt the meta due to time constraint from the map timer.
- Look on group finder when it starts for “DS TAXI” in open world content.
- It starts in all maps at the same time, this website shows you when: http://gw2.ninja/timer
- If you have commander tags on your map, advertise your group as “DS TAXI” and kick people out once they have got onto your map.
What event do you have to do in iron marsh? I did the vine one twice, no reward, so it occurred to me that it may be something I am not thinking of. Someone told me it was a 5 event chain. I am so lost but only need it and ds one for my first phase

I also haven’t gotten credit for DS blighted towers, has anyone? or is this bugged for everyone still?
Everybody who I’ve asked has a problem with this.
PvP > PvE > WvW
The loot from PvP is insane. Awesome exotics galore and you get to CHOOSE the chests you will get!
Also: Transmutation Charges. It’s the loot you always wanted in WvW but never got.
There Plan? Is that not obvious?
They slowly kill WvW and hope some player switch to sPvP, so they can do there great ESL eSport thing.
Actually, I think they want people on the PvE RaidTrain, round and round it goes… ><
I’ve never seen (or not) anything so cheeky in a video game.
1) We have a triple whammy hitting our small groups:
- proliferation of t3 gates,
- the removal of supply-cheap catapults (i.e. guild catapults which used to cost 25 supply) AND
- no more +5 supply at camps
2) Then we have CLAIMING which has been delayed due to The Great Paywall of Guild Halls. This will make it very unlikely that small guilds ever get to claim anything – it’s big guilds or go home in WvW.
At the time of writing, I’ve yet to see an active Tactivator, weeks after the release of the game and despite guilds rushing to upgrade their halls in order to have access to them.
3) I think there are problems with the automatic upgrades – perhaps these should happen more slowly. I suspect that my opinion on this would change if there were more people on the maps.
4) The mobs in the Skysplitter event annoy me greatly because despite being about average to take down they have a long charge, knockdowns and are tricksy to fight because WvW players are traditionally in tanky PVT gear. I think this event needs looking at by the QA people – I know it’s meant to be just a thing to make people get into an open field fight, but on it’s own and without enemies it’s not fun enough.
In summary, it’s NOT a problem with the maps. In my opinion the maps are fine.

WvW Invitational Statement from John Corpening, game director for World vs. World

I’m going to sticky this thread, with John’s consent, because we feel it contains valuable information that forum members may wish to read.
Thank you very much Gaile, I think it’s important that you did this because a lot of us felt that what John had stated wasn’t actually true after Colin’s recent interview on MMORPG.com.

The triple-whammy of;
- proliferation of t3 gates,

- no more +5 supply at camps
has really hurt small groups.

The megaserver has failed us.
1 map gets to do the event and hundreds of people stand alone trying to taxi into it.
BORING.
The druid shoulders look like an ugly tangled mess first glance, but on examination are an intricate diorama of ranger pets.
