For me. D/D beta weekend 2 after the scepter nerf BW1. Tried out the scepter agian at release when I finally made my ele again (bout a few days in). Then went D/D with the 0/0/10/30/30 op Staff build (but with daggers and not staff)
It buggs out for me as well. Does damage when I start underwater but eventually buggs and does no damage. Also no miss message or obstructed message. Looks like it goes over the targets head
Anet probably doesn’t even think its an issue. But it is. By the amount of posts here and on other forums about it you think they would have done something in the last 5 months. Its probably hardcoded in somewhere though, nice and deep where it will take another 5 months to find it, another 1 to test and a final 1 to wait for a patch to come out sigh.
High hopes though. Especially for the pvp part of the game where its is necessary to turn the kittenhing off.

Why would you have target and camera move on the same button is beyond me

Gives players with lots of mobs an advantage ….
Rotate camera, lose target, target minion, use interrupt at the same time, lose interrupt, lose match.
Com’on, you cant have target set to camera move. Make an option “disable target on right mouse”
and a second option
“Swap left an right mouse buttons”
I’ll also add that since the camera zoom distance isn’t all that large (dunno why) that when you fight say a minion master necro there is no way to not right click on of its minions when he runs past you while you try to face him with your camera. Then hes deselected and you have to smash tab to get find him in that mess or try to click him through the minions.

How about …
Menu – Logoff – Character select … leaves you in roster
Menu – Logoff – Logoff … removes you from roster
Menu – Exit (or alf f4) … removes you from roster
Game crash or network DC gives 2min leeway then good bye sir. (unless the match is underway)
Edit: a vote to kick system (“TGSlasher has DCed would you like to remove from party and party with another?”) – that way if its a premade group he will stay. BUT if its a pubby play then why should I want to keep that player that will make it 4 v 5?

You should have bonuses displayed to members
So if I’m in a public team and we are vs a Premade (pretty obvious which teams are premade) then you should have an onscreen 10% (or other number) glory bonus.
Or a reward at the end of the match even if you lose (only when vs a team with a certain lvl higher MMR or a pub vs premade team or a combination of the two that I like to call hold)

Try playing from Australia
Devs before releases: we’ve had many people from Australia say that there is not much effect of lag (something along those lines)
^I’d say that was pve tested only
Usually day to day lag in Aus:
Get downed by a guy above you on a cliff that you jumped off to get to safety of your teammates who cant res you unless they go up the cliff.
Take falling damage when jumping around a building you didn’t fall off (usually die because you had low health)
Get KD / KB / Fear / Stoned / etc. halfway through your dodge.
Then add this new lag on-top and you have to add 1 second precognition to your dodges. You now successfully dodge completely after the animation and anything before is a hit.
When I tried to change my password it would not accept 8 digit passwords. So I cant set my password back to what it was.
Check the length code isn’t: if (passwordlength > eight) {allow password here}
ensure that it is: if (passwordlength >= eight) {allow password here}

What Elite do you have? Do you remember to use it? I’ve fought a few eles recently that used no elite at all. My elite is the Fiery GreatSword of great justice. Lighting flash with this baby will rock your world (if you have some nice might stacked up, or have zerkers like me). You want to use FGS 3 then teleport back to where you started as you pass your foe. This takes a lot of practice as your character and camera move quite quickly. But if you pull this off you will hit for 2x more damage with the whirl. If you deciede to take the Elemental Elite don’t forget to use it.Thanks for this tip. I never liked the fiery greatsword before, but now I rather enjoy it. Finally have an elite I want to use.

You need a good fast to get key-binding for Lightning Flash and you need to press it right after FGS 3 and position your mouse quickly then click when you go past.
Alternatively you can use the Setting to make ground targets happen on click, then line up to location then use Lightning Flash.
It requires about the same speed as Earthquake → Lightning Flash but adding camera movement into the mix
Make RTL require a target, similar to magnetic grasp part 2.
I believe its intention was a gap closer but it is used as a getaway.
If that change isn’t made then they will either reduce healing, or nerf RTL distance to the ground.
My other suggested change was to move Cleansing Wave to focus.
ATM x/D has the best heal (except standing in geyser for its full duration) on it and the best movement skill
The focus has some good skills, but no heal on it making the x/D better in most situations.

However, good news, we should (being the key word) be getting improvements to our skills as a whole, with reductions on our healing. That’s the trade off I’m hoping for.
PvE wise. This game gets a content update about monthly, so Christmas, Halloween, Some new place somewhere that I didn’t really go to yet (not 80 in pve, mostly play pvp).

My friend used to play Tera and he leveled about 30 characters to lvl 20-30 and deleted them all trying to find the right class animations. Thankfully in GW2 he has only deleted about 15 characters so far, keep telling him about the mists to try out animations but he doesn’t care, then he wondered why he got bored of the game (not leveling a single character past lvl 20ish, doing all the starting areas so many times, by starting areas, I mean human area 15 times … ).
Trap ranger → condition spec (0 30 30 5 5)
Trap ranger → glass cannon spec (30 30 0 5 5)
Mesmer → not sure the build
Insti kill you thieves of justice powers, may not get the kill but god I’m leaving or dead

Now onto actual skill use. You have a 9 second window on the standard 0 10 0 30 30 d/d. A much larger window on my build 0 15 0 25 30 with zerkers or knights.
Once you see water effect (change spec effect) you will see all of his heals go off. The moment he changes out (usually within seconds of entering) unload your biggest hitters counting to 9. Once you hit about 8 immobilize, burst and GG (hold a nice interrupt for the cleansing wave animation, if he used that last water spec then use you interrupt of the water breath asap).
While elementalists have large condition removal not many take cleansing fire? (aoe damage + burning + remove 3 conditions) Most take mist form instead. Layering your conditions will put pressure on. Mask you chill and poison with bleeds and whatever else you have no matter how little. While elementalists have a lot of condition removal, conditions are what bring us down. Not just 25 stacks of bleed, but many and learning how to mask more critical ones will allow you to have a better chance at killing the ele.
Remember, traps activate while they are in mist form and RTL. So when they use vapor form you can chuck traps at their moving to location and the will activate and continue to do damage when they are down. Also they will activate when they go into RTL, so a chill trap will chill them as they ride off.
RTL is a 3 second stun if you can immobilize them during it. They can only use their cantrips which don’t get them out of this stun (not including mist form). If you also cover your immobilize with another condition then mist-form wont remove it and they will be immortal but wont go anywhere.
Elementalists that are really buff don’t do much damage. Against my random really bad died to everything else Trap build (30 30 0 5 5, rabid) the d/ds I fought couldn’t even hurt me and they died to mediocre bleed dots (88 bleed). On my Trap build more appropriate (0 30 30 5 5 carrion) they had no chance (119 bleedish)
When I fight with my D/D I usually don’t run unless its a serious match (tourny) or I’m out numbered. I also run a semi bunker / burst build. Better damage, much less defense.

Yes, healing ripple does heal yourself. It used to be much more healing (bout the same as water 5) but they reduced it. It heals allies near you as well as yourself. This is one of the best lvling traits if you find yourself getting hurt in battle.
You have to win a tournament to get your Chest.
If you have won 3 tournaments drop by Lions Arch (big lion gate in the mists), then head back into the mists. That should force the game to give you your chests. This is a bug that happens to me sometimes as well.
Edit: Also, if its frees your doing and they still do the 8 teams thing you have to wait till the last match is finished (you wont know when that is but around 20-40mins depending on your place. If you come first or second you will get the chest straight away obviously)

I’m pretty sure that changing attunement also gits hit by confusion (might be if you have the spell on change attunement, generally the 15 trait one, not 100% sure). I’m sure other classes don’t take confusion damage when they change weapons.

This build doesn’t require but is helpfull to have at least 25 in water. This gives the 25 minor that is 2% extra damage for boon on you (does not count stacks, only indiviual boons). That is regen, swiftness, fury, might and protection, giving 8-10% extra damage almost all of the time. This will become clearer as you reach further toward lvl 80. 10% extra damage is better the 20% under 25% hp to me (unless you save you big hitters till then end).
With the 25 in water you could go for the 10% extra damage while health is above 90% giving you 20% extra damage (approx) most of the time (till you get hurt).

A 0 0 10 30 30 build is good for staff as support heals and buffs. This is the build my friend first played when he joined GW2, was previously more op due to EA bug. You want to swap in Blasting Staff (increased staff AOEs)
Glass cannon zerker builds for WvW I’m not to sure on. AFAIK you will decimate your opponents but you need to be toward the back of your zerg or you will be destroyed quickly
The best improvement would be to make the Fiery Greatsword of Great Justice Powers castable whilst moving (also chaning its name to the one mentioned). Its an elite for god sakes, why is it the only one that cant cast while moving?
This is called wanting to play with your friends and is not accomidated outside of frees or tournies. Also frees take to long to pop atm so you probably have the free teams trying to play with each other by team swapping.
Me and 2 of my friend want to play with each other out of tournies so we team swap till we can. We once had 6/8 of our guild on 1 team before, but it is very difficult to do.
GOD vs close to god with the ability to run away….
AFAIK, Lighting aura only works against melee attacks and ground aoes (so if you have a bow at point blank you are fine). Frost Aura chills everyone that attaks the ele, including ranged attacks. Best to wait for a ranger to use his Rapid Fire and then pop frost aura MUHHAHAHAHHAHA
Yea, before our fixes and anyone had worked out that EA was bugged to oblivion and back. Then came the OP Staff bunkers. EA got nerfed, then came the OP D/D AND S/D eles and everyone cried about D/D but didn’t give 2 dams about S/Ds even though they were way better then D/D
Thats why alot of hammer skills are kds and some GS skills are cripples :p. Also pew pew arrows crippling shot: “Shatter your foe’s dreams of becoming an adventurer with a single arrow to the knee.”

Why don’t we just move some bunker abilities to the focus (cleansing wave mainly) and make the off dagger better for dps (adding some kind of other heal to water 5 dagger that is not a 2.5k heal)? Then bunker eles will use the focus which has 0 movement skills but good bunker skills and the off dagger is now a movement weapon with good damage skills

Btw, my D/D build along with my friends S/D condition build can kill D/D bunker eles in a 2v2. Even 2v3 if the third is another class, never been in a 2v3 us v bunker before so I can’t say the outcome. Also have never seen a S/D bunker (cept the ones me and my friend run when bored) in our matches before. Since most of this QQ is hot-join related, I will also add that the bunkers we fight are hot joiners, not tPvPers. A good player is good, I won’t disregard that, top teir tourny players would probably roll us lol.
So we started the eles in beta and they were awesome but got damage nerfed. Then we stuck with our elementalists even though everyone said they were underpowered and not worth playing. Then we built defensively to stop those 1 shotters. Now we got some bug fixes and we are OP again.
Before it was QQ about theives 1 shotting you or “Running Away”. Now its QQ about eles not dieing or “Running Away”? What the, is it you just don’t like making a kill? Is that all this is about? You don’t just leave the D/D or S/D alone and kill someone else?
I run D/D 0 10 0 30 30 or 0 15 0 25 30 depending on what I feel like at the time. My traits make my defense, my zerkers or knights make my offense. My cantrips are used usually offensively and I don’t take mist form because I’m not a baby cat. If I run from you it is with RTL and that is only if a friendly is near by to assist me, otherwise I would be dead anyways.
It also reduces your skill cooldown
If your out in a snow storm are you going to be running perfectly fine, or are you going to be walking slowly?
It can’t be that bad, unless you vs an ele that is built to have you always chilled. (My friend tried a build like this, it was mediocore at best)

/rank is an emote. Using it will show off your current sPvP rank. If you have never been to the mists and play sPvP it will be a deer I think.
On a side note, what happened to guitar, flute, drums violin? Used to make syncro rock bands and syncro dancers, was so cool

I remember getting crit chance to 100% once, when we had more damage on our scepter skills, but never breaking much more then 50% or 60% crit damage.
Because CTF would = wows CTF, fight in the middle.
Why not 2 CTF, 2 Conquest and 2 TDM. Or even random game mode as the map changes in its standard rotation

Also when matchmaking is implemented the rank it goes off is a hidden number, not your pvp glory level. Versing a premade is hell and that is probably why your team mate left like a pansy man. Or he was hungry, either way.
Glory lvl means nothing.
I have 2 accounts, 1 has only played a few pvp matches. If I play my elementalists build as a rank 1 am I a bad player? My grinded rank would say so. But my other accounts rank would say I’m mediocore.
Whenever someone says you couldn’t 1v1 me I reply “This is a team game, I don’t have to 1v1 you”
I’ve had people running the good old backstab build attacking people at random in duels. Even after being told they were in a duel server many times. They only ever attack when someone else was in a fight. I got my but handed to me when trying to fight him off because I was experimenting with random builds at the time and had no defense capabilities selected for my ele.
Ran into him again with my normal build and decimated the crap out of his but. Sweet sweet justice.
Had another guy beat me, while I was dueling with my friend. He said: “your so bad, learn to play your classez”
Me and my friend ran into him when we were on the same team. I beat him, then my friend when he respawned and we both said “your so bad, learn to play your classez”. Best day ever
I’m expecting a nerf to our bunkerage since people can’t seem to over come the FOTM eles in pvp (most are easy to beat with weaker / lesser build lol).
I do hope for some buffs to our damage though, miss my rediculous burst S/D build so much.
107% crit damage? Thats alot, I’m assuming you use arcane skills and the air trait to go with them or this is PvE

I’ll just let you in on a secret. Arcane Retribution is really bad. It does not give Arcane Power, it gives an even more bugged version that last for 2-5 seconds if your lucky and usually 1 skill 2 if your really lucky.
But if it works your you then soldier on.

Nice, using Earthquake then lightning flash takes a bit to get used to and requires a good keybind for LF but this can really throw your enemy off. Your also getting a free full damage phoenix off and possibly a fire grab after.

Practice makes perfect. Just gotta break the rutine, ride the lightning into updarft is the one to start with. Against any competent player you will lose your updarft 90% of the time and its CD is 40sec so losing it isn’t a good for your side of the fight.

Zephers boon works differently for different auras. Lighting aura gives double buff durations.
Yes to your question, for 1 reason, they are fun to play.
I have a reasonable crit chance with fury up
So I usually start CE then switch to something else as its about to cast for the 2sec fury from attunement change. If I do change earlier its for air for lightning aura which also gives fury from Zephers Boon. Most of my CEs crit, but a 100% chance for it to hit would be nice.
