I believe that traits can push a duration over 100%. All other sources will be capped at 100% though.
Would Chemical Rounds trait for the Engineer also bypass condition duration if it’s capped at 100% from runes, sigils and food?
Thanks
Yes it does. With max possible condi duration for burning you should be looking at 15,25s burns from blowtorch compared to 5 seconds base duration.
It needs to be a big bubble that looks like someone farted in it.
Ranger is pretty much warrior 2.0 with the downside that storm spirit might not be at its optimal use if capping vuln. But all in all this patch alone has been pretty much the best patch for PvE rangers and makes it a serious choice for “speedruns” and maybe even record runs.
Warrior is still useful for might and banners. I would be more worried about elementalist since they are primarily taken for DPS. They have some serious alternatives now with ranger and engineer. Ranger now stacks vuln and swiftness even better than ele and engi does overall more damage with the same vuln stacking and can provide additional stealth.
It could also mean bad times for thief getting replaced by ranger/engi.
I didn’t say warrior would be replaced, more like ditch one ele and a thief for engi and ranger for a new “meta” comp.
Also there’s no reason to nerf whao. The random boon spam builds you see in pvp now are completely garbage and only works against complete knoblets. Yea sure it’s nice to have lots of quickness, might, fury and so on but in order to do that you’d have to take pretty meh trait lines dmg wise and it’s so ridiculously easy to counter with a necro or a mesmer that it will never be competitive.
This buff actually makes all 3 ranger heals usable in all game modes and have a good synergy with their associated traits.

This has proven to be rather humorous thread. 10/10 would oneshot again.
Yea but it has about the same drop rate as precursors. I’ve had only one journal after ~1600 dailies.
Thoughts of a pleb.
Asura ranger with technobabble can do 6 second daze and after druid comes out any ranger can do 6s AoE daze on 5 second cooldown.
I kinda expect them to nerf MoC tbh
When druid comes out bosses will have a breakbar anyway.
Yea in new areas but old content will still have defiance until they get around to changing them.
Fractal masteries will probably have something that helps with agony.

Ppl are just going to slot LH over IB and use 4 on it. And then for example ranger could easily keep it and auto with it to get better dps than normal sword auto.
Butbutbut necros have better dps than warrior. :C
Gotta blow trough the last 5 pages while Gaile is sleeping. >:)
Also since last thread was locked I’ll ask again.
Who wants to do a 10 hammer guard raid on saturday? (EU)
(edited by Taku.6352)
Wait till tomorrow when the actual balance changes hit then we can see what actually was changed since they didn’t tell all of the changes in the preview.
But most likely eles will still be the class to stack just thanks to staff being stupid easy dps.
I know how protection works I’ve been playing since beta. What I’m saying due to the recent changes to vulnerability working with condition damage Protection should work against condition damage. Its a fair trade-off.
Going by that logic resistance should work against direct dmg then too.
Would’ve been much better to just read it in small print on tuesdays patch notes.
So uuh, who wants to do a 10 hammer/mace guardian raid on Saturday?
Good thing I’ve been a salad since headstart.
No selfies on the forums plz.
More than enough from a hammer ele but you won’t get that outside a vacuum since there will be conflicting fields all the time.
So can anyone explain to me the logic behind anets decision with an actual reason that makes sense? Other than they cant work out how to split 10 man buffing from the rest of the game (probably the real reason).
10 man buffs means Anet’s servers must do more computations per second than it does now. This costs money. That’s the reason.
Didn’t stop them from removing condi caps to please world boss zergers.
PvP reward bags are the only loot bags that are actually affected by MF.
Rather solo and kill in one go than risk wiping several times. Same goes for Mai Trin.
You shouldn’t even use an Ice Bow at the chest seal in cliffside, the mobs die faster than the 4th skill recharges
the initial vets have a lot more hp than the infinitely respawning mobs
Still you shouldn’t use IB there, keep them blinded and kill one by one to get the seal down fast as possible.
Doesn’t take much practice to spam autoattack.
If only there were ways of preventing mobs from moving trough our skills.
Sadly it still is. Pretty much afk faceroll even at mossman/archi and so on thanks to absurd amount of aegis/protection/reflects and still 25 might with good dps just from autoattacking with hammer.
Anet never ceases to amaze me how disconnect they are from their playerbase.
Wedding outfit!
I just push 1 magic button and go afk for a while and have potions automagically appear in my inventory.

Pro tip: You can get to anywhere in the game world for free with the push of a button. Just keep that “W” held down and you’ll be on your merry way!
Sylvari. Scarlet 4lyfe.
Someone should give them some birthday blasters. Cakes all day erry day.
4 seconds at 3 second intervals and generally if you need stealth for a skip that usually means there are mobs around.
External stealth application is super bad for thieves if they plan on doing backstabs. And besides you’d still have to use the scrapper line in order to get that flying kitten and lose out on stuff that tools has to offer.
Or it might be the drake thingymajinigys right hand.
Pets didn’t take dmg because alpha doesn’t hit ppl in melee range if his primary aggro is on someone that is ranging (spire most likely).
So no pets don’t evade when you do.
GW1 =/= GW2
Maybe someday people might learn the difference.
Y it lingers for around 6+ seconds so it’s not a big deal unless they increase the cd because spirits are too op /cough… what worries me is the pet but eh
It’s more like 10-15 seconds since the spirit corpse still applies the buff until it disappears.
Even if frost/sun spirit dies immediately after its summoned it’s effect will still linger around for good while so the actual downtime of these buffs is rather minimal.
It took them close to 3 years from launch to get rid of hobosacks so by 2018 we might see legendaries affect kits.
1 ele would still be in every party. They have a solid amount of utility even without IB but atleast it would give other classes a chance to become a part of the “meta” comp.
Then burning isn’t overpowered either because it can be removed even more easily than protection.
Some dredge whacked me in the face with 3×4.5k crits and right after for 3×3k normal hits so apparently they don’t have any extra ferocity. You could pretty easily get any mob to crit by going to lvl 37 and applying confusion which turns intokitten
fury.
For dungeons probably risen berserkers in CoE/Arah.
Why bring a party when you can solo? Why solo when you can just pvp? Why play a game when you can play a board game? Why play dungeons and dragons when you can play monopoly, destroying friendships and burning all of your bridges behind you only to realize it’s already 5am and you have school the next morning and 3 group projects to complete together?
