I am about to go away for a week’s holiday, but please feel free to contact any of the names listed in the first post. We can always do with more music on our travels
It is really hard for Anet right now, the whole changing world, dynamic events, action combat is alot harder to and more complex than the usual MMO, it may be why we don’t see as many update for other things such as guild. Their main concern is around the new mecanic they are working on.
Just think about how hard it is to make a dynamic event instead of a npc that ask you to kill 25 Behemoth.
Though I would like to see Guild hall, guilds alliance I think it wouldn’t take too much time and effort to implement them. They seems to focus on making absolutely everything different and better but things like those need to stay the same :P.
For me, as a guild leader, I see guilds as being far more important than Living World content. It’s guilds that hold players together and keep them playing games. Our guild has held us together since 2005, but it is a struggle to find a game that supports us, just as we support the game and, in turn, it’s developers.
Whilst many see guild halls as not being important, I’m sure a good number of players must do, judging by all the threads that call for them. Providing a focus for a guild, somewhere to hold meetings, display items and even decorate in a manner appropriate to that guild, all binds members together.
Personally, I’m not fussed about GvG, but as long not participating doesn’t hinder a guild, I have no objection to seeing it introduced.
I see it as being very short-sighted in not providing the mechanics to manage guilds efficiently. What I would like to see, in the very near future, is one bi-monthly update that adds the above. I feel that Arenanet have missed a trick by not adding guild halls and management tools on the anniversary of launch.
If you enjoy RP, Piken Square is the unofficial EU RP server and is also nicely busy
I’m adding my voice to the RP activity level of Piken Square, the unofficial EU RP server. We have a lot of fun RPing all over Tyria.
There are many different styles of RP and whatever a group agrees to and how they conduct their RP, is entirely up to them. I have seen more dramas over RP style than anything else in all the years I’ve enjoyed the playstyle. So I avoid the arguements over which style is ’right’ and which style is ’wrong’.
Best advice is to find a group that appeals to you and RPs in a similar style. For example, we are out of character when questing etc, the in game character story doesn’t have to reflect your character’s background and we use dice rolls to add a frisson to major actions.
GW2 RP is worth a visit.
I’m hoping for Guild airships.
I went there.
What I would love to see is something like Garenhoof in Kessex Hills; a town with a harbour and ships. A large town hall, for meetings, and all the buildings providing player housing for members.
Having a access to a ships and an airship, with multiple decks, would give us so much scope for RP that it would be a long time before we even looked at another game!
You can buy new dance moves from the Gem Store.
Those are terrible too!
Housing, as customisable as it was in SWG, preferably not instanced, but I’ll take what I can get!
Always looking out for RPers who also enjoy PvE! If you are interested in immersive, exciting RP, but also people to do with dungeons etc with (out of character), then visit our website at:
I particularly like the idea of Guild leaders being able to make squads. Whilst RPing, we are often moving through the landscape. We regularly number 12 - 15 people and having seperate groups means that we can’t see all of us at the same time. This makes it harder to keep an eye on and assist lower levels.
I still don’t understand why we can’t trade between players, I can only assume it’s something to do with gold farmers. It’s frustrating trying to share food out, when it has to be mailed in a daisy chain.
Not being able to create chat channels is frustrating, this is something we relied on heavily in other MMOs. Our GMs would rather not flood guild chat with information that is of no interest to our non-Rpers, but with 2 - 3 groups and no raid chat or custom channel, there is no other option.
Some great ideas from the OP.
Your story writing is a true talent and all sound lovely. I was wondering though, is your role play more like acting a script instead of spontaneous? I always thought role play events set a theme and then let things develop as they will with perhaps a little steering? Instead of being all written out in advance? I hope you don’t mind me asking as I’m curious and if I don’t ask I don’t learn anything new
There is absolutely no scripting in our RP. The players always determine what to do next. Our GMs may guide with hints, IF we ask the right questions.
As an RPer, the last thing I would want is to be switched to town clothes the minute I enter a city. That would be very immersion breaking.
I’ve spent a lot of time collecting pieces of armour to try and create individual looks and to seem less armour-like, when RPing out of combat.
I would love an wardrobe system like LotRO’s or STO’s.
I’m afraid that we do not do ERP, unless I have misunderstood your post. We do RP and PvE.
I too would love to have a guild mail option, preferably with a higher character limit too.
Should an RPer be interested in this thread and server populations; Piken Square is the unofficial EU RP server
We are welcoming new members regularly and always ready to welcome more!
For RP purposes, it would be wonderful to have one large group. When we are travelling through Tyria, it would be a tremendous help to be able to see where all 12-15 of us are and if lower levels are struggling to keep up.
Just a pipe dream though, as game mechanics are designed for 5 person groups.
Piken Square is the unofficial EU RP server.
We have some really exciting RP going on, but there is no requirement to RP and we are always looking for players who enjoy other playstyles too.
If you are looking for an active, friendly, helpful guild, then consider us!
I would love to see more weather effects added, definitely gets my vote!
Hello, if you haven’t found a guild yet, you may be interested in SEA - Sea of Sorrows Desperadoes on Piken Square. It is the unofficial EU server, but all playstyles choose to be there for it’s friendly community.
We are a mixed guild, accepting all playstyles and whilst many of us are RPers, it’s not a requirement to be part of us. We have been around as a community for over 8 years and have members who have been with us since the start.
We are friendly, helpful and are currently looking to build on our PvE skills, we don’t RP whilst questing etc and we make no demands on gear or builds. We are happy to help and advise. We will even take low levels into fractals, as our aim is to play together and have fun.
We have an 18+ age limit and accept that RL with it’s career, family and social demands that gaming is often a lower priority. We do expect a certain level of activity, though: an average of 4 evenings online as a rough guide.
I hope you find a new home online soon, good luck!
Hello,
You don’t mention your time zone, but if you are in the EU, you may be interested in SEA - Sea of Sorrows Desperadoes on Piken Square. It is the unofficial RP server, but all playstyles choose to be there for it’s friendly community.

Hi,
We are out of character when enjoying the PvE content of the game, but heavily immersed when in character.
SEA -Sea of Sorrows Desperadoes is a small but active guild. If you are 18+ and interested in an adventuring style of RP, please visit our website for more information.
Hello.
SEA -Sea of Sorrows Desperadoes is an EU guild on Piken Square. We are a smallish guild, currently mostly RPers, but we are out of character when PvEing, doing dungeons etc.
We are looking to increase our PvEing members and RP is not a requirement. Our age limit is 18+ and, as a community, we have been in existence for over 8 years and we are always open to mature, friendly players.
Thank you for registering with our forums! I will activate your account. However we are changing our board system today or tomorrow, so some links may be a little outdated, in the application info. I will be correcting them asap, but apologise in advance if there are any broken links.
I would dearly love to see all the guild management tools suggested, as well as a recruitment tab for those looking for a guild. This would allow the leader to add a brief description of the guild.
Adding my continuing support for guild halls!
Hi!
We have had a presence in GW2 for sometime now, but are looking to expand our PvE playerbase. Currently, we are mostly RPers who enjoy PvE too, but we are always open to non RPers as well as RPers. There is no requirement to RP.
We are on Piken Square, but have no objection to members guesting.
Infact, we make few demands of our members when it comes to gameplay, as we realise that most of our members have families, careers etc that mean they do not have the time for grinding.
We aim to be friendly, helpful and community spirited, with an age limit of 18+.
You can find out more about us at www.sea-guild.org
Are you looking for a guild that offers a little bit of everything and a lot of immersive RP?
(edited by Talenna.4052)
Piken Square is an active EU server. It is also very popular with RPers, as well as PvEers.
Adding my support for a system that is already in place in other games.
I would love to see all the above added!
In addition, I’d like to see a Guild Recruitment facility too, where non-guilded players accessing the guild interface can bring up a list of guilds recruiting on their server.
Are you interested in RP too? It is not a requirement as we accept non-RPers too, but it is our main focus. Having said that, we do a lot of PvE and will do WvW when we have enough guild members interested.
We are on Piken Square, an active EU server. Our age limit is 18+ and we have members from across Europe, however, several of us are from the UK and guild chat is in English. Our peak playing times are 8pm BST - 10pm BST, as most of our members have careers, partners/spouses and other RL commitments that mean that we are less active at other times.
Our recruitment thread is here, if you are interested.
Have you considered a guild that role plays too? We are out of character when questing etc.
We have only a small presence in GW2, but we are an EU guild, with members from across the EU, including Germany, and we are looking to increase our guild membership so that we can undertake WvW as a guild.
We have only just reduced our membership requirement to 18+, from 21+, but we are still looking for mature behaviour and attitudes.
Our members have families, careers and other RL commitments that mean they are not always available. Whilst we like our members to be as active as possible, we accept that they can’t always be around.
If you would like to try RPing, our own Games Masters will help you get involved and we’d all help you to learn our stye of RP. Our plot is centred around the lore of GW2 (which you are not expected to know to the nth degree) and a group of adventurers.
Visit our home page and have a read of the info there, should you be interested: SEA
Good luck in your search for a happy online home!
Our age limit has been reduced to 18+
Hi!
You do not give your time zone, but if you are able to play at peak EU times and happy to guest on Piken Square (the unofficial RP server), you might be interested in Sea of Sorrows Desperadoes (SEA). We have an age limit of 21+, though.
When in character (we quest, dungeon etc out of character), we are a mixed bunch of adventurers, on a quest across Tyria. However, none of us know our ultimate goal, but we think it’s leading to slaying dragons.
We have our own Games Masters who plan plots and guide our RP, although none of it is scripted, I’ll add. Plots can go wildly off course when we decide to do something the GM wasn’t expecting! Members can also unwittingly trigger a plot, just from something they say or have in their background story.
All new members get a personalised introduction to our RP and will also receive help if they are not used to our style of RP.
We make no restrictions on level, gear, builds etc but our more experienced players are always willing to advise. However, to really get involved with our adventures, we do suggest that members get to at least level 30.
Some really useful advice, there.
Server
Time Zone
Playstyle
These are the three things that I look for, ideally, right at the start of the post, if not in the title. It really helps.
How about adding content for us to play instead of buying instruments on gem store?
It’s buying things in store that allow new content to be added. RL cash via gems supports this game.
“Gold is your generic token..which,………… wait for it…you can get via badges. "
Tell me how I can exchange the badges to gold, I really don’t know.
T
Option 1: Buy blueprints using badges -> sell on TP.
Option 2: Buy bunch of exotics and MF them for a chance for something rareAnd don’t you tell me none of these options are good enough for you.
Thank you for the suggestion! I don’t pvp or do wvw and I expect there are many more like me. I’ve been wondering what to do with these useless rewards (or so I thought), but now I do know!
This is something I would love to see! Tools for guild leaders are remarkably lacking, not even the ability to send a guild mail.
You may have already found a guild, but if not, you may be interested in SEA, an EU guild on Piken Square.
Whilst we are mostly RPers, currently, we are not in character when questing etc and we are open to non-RPers too. In fact we are looking to expand our PvE side and perhaps progress towards WvW too.
Good luck in your search!
We are also recruiting PvEers who might be interested in joining in with RP, although it’s not a requirement.
We do dungeons too and are willing to help new members get through them. We never place restrictions on builds, gear, level etc, but are happy to advise.
I was also disappointed that there wasn’t at least a hint that these might be available this year. Guilds need a focus, somewhere to gather for meetings, for new members to meet their fellow guildies and as a social area too.
As an RPing guild, this is something we’d make heavy use of and it would provide us with a permanent base. Ideally, I’d like it to be an area that provided private housing for members, that they could decorate to their hearts’ content.
Whilst it’s nice having a home instance, having NPCs in whatever house you chose as your character’s home is immersion breaking. I don’t want whatshisface in my mansion. What’s more, he’s not even sitting on the sofa, but IN it!
So it would be nice to know that this something that is coming in the not too distant future.
I was hoping there would be something about guild halls. Will just have to keep waiting.
At least there is a lot of other good stuff to look forward to.
Loving the new kite, shame it’s held as if weilding a weapon, I can’t RP it as an umbrella when IC
This is a very common complaint, in regards to RP. However, levels really shouldn’t matter, they are out of character and the only thing they restrict you from is RPing in higher level areas.
If you move into a new area or job, in RL, how long does it take you to make friends with people? Rarely is it on first contact. Take a few days to look around the areas which act as a hub on your server. Try visiting the taverns in Divinity’s Reach, for example (not advisable if you are a Charr). Buy a drink, perhaps smile at the person standing next to you and generally behave as you would in RL, when socialising.
You have to meet people half way, you can’t expect them to welcome you with open arms when they have never met you before. So be prepared to visit the same venue a few times before others start to recognise you.
Look for an RP guild that is active in your play times, before joining see if you can find any of them in action to see if their style matches yours. Do a little research, check the cabal forums on this site, also those on the TSW RP site.
There are also many different styles of RP, but as the OP has RPed in several MMOs, they would be aware of this, but it is worth taking time to look around for those with a similar style. For example, my community are OOC when questing and our plots take us across Tyria (currently camped in the Shiverpeaks). This means we aren’t around the main RP hubs for most of the time, which doesn’t suit many RPers.
I hope you soon find a friendly bunch to RP with
Disclaimer: "you" is used in a generic sense and not aimed personally at any other poster.
I am terribad at jumping puzzles. I’ve never been much of a console gamer and jumping around is something that is very hard for me to do.
I will give it a go and occassionaly I will manage to complete a JP. But the majority of times I don’t. This is when I thank my stars for the guild mesmers, some of whom seem capable of doing these JPs with their eyes shut! They just bounce across timed slabs with ease. Whereas I run out of time and fall into the fire, or whatever grisly fate awaits!
So, for players like me, mesmer portals are a huge help. However, you won’t see me wailing in /map, I’ll just wait until a guildie can help me.
I’m really enjoying it and the area is beautiful! I do hope it remains after the event. The icing on the cake would be a couple of taverns where we RPers could continue to use the area for years to come!
go to the mist, then click store in collectable, it will then be transfered into your pvp locker, and your other char will be able to access to that skin. the locker only store 1 piece of skin for each type so duplicate skin you can salv or transfer to other char before storing.
As a non PvPer, I had no idea there was a pvp locker! Maybe I’ll stop deleting PvP only stuff, if there is somewhere to store it.
Personally, I’d rather have tokens that could be used for PvP or PvE armour
I think it’s a fantastic idea and look forward to seeing what will come our way. It keeps players logging in and interested.
Yes, it is a little annoying to miss out if you are a regular player and then go off on holiday, or work commitments get in the way, but regular new content can never be a bad thing in my book.
