Would be nice to se every passive trait of the opponent when targeting him.
Chosing a Sigil which only removes 1 certain boon is quite bad:
- you’re basically sacrificing 1 of the 4 sigils you can equip on something that only would be viable vs 2/3 builds in the whole Conquest scene. For just a removal..
But if that sigil would be a transfer sigil instead of removal (which means all might transfered to you) with a 9s CD, I think THAT would be worth the sacrifice of a Sigil Slot and will keep things in line.
Ele and Warrior can easily stack might again within those 9seconds. And yes, they’ll lose it again (granted the attack landed).
Eles might see problem in this but its exactly the same as the only window we have to burst ele down is only 9 seconds aswel (after Water Attunement).
So that would be a fair trade-off
An Ele and Engineer are only “OP” if the opponent team does not have a Necro.
Cele Signet Necro hardcounters Engineers and Eles.
If you want to add new titles atleast make them harder to obtain.
500 – 1000 wins in ranked maybe more.1000 wins is not a lot for legendary title…<_<
Champion Brawler already takes 10 000 wins so no need to go over 1 000 tbh.
oops meant 3 guildy’s and dude i have almost 5k houres ingame most of it spend in pvp and wvw and no i dont mean eotm and hotjoin i mean solo ranked and team ranked i play a average of 15 games a day with 8 out of 15 win minimum i am not some scrub i am rank 80 yes but i was rank 60 before the change to the track system my guildy’s average on the 40-60 ish and that was only because a few didnt come back untill recently
and if those numbers in your signature are recent i have played about 2k more games. the fact that you assume i am some newb says more about you then me.
Ehh.. I think you’re overreacting, never said you are some noob. I suggest to calm down & re-read what I said.
Also the numbers in my signature is only from 1 account on EU (my main account).
Which is not the one Im posting with btw, got multiple accounts.
(edited by Terrorsquad.4802)
Amount of hours nor level nor rank nor AP mean anything in PvP.
The only thing that matters little is amount of games, perhaps.
“high ranked”. What are you calling “high Ranked” exactly? Following your text, you had the ‘highest rank’. So all I can take out of this is your guildies must have low ranks aswel. Since it doesnt take long to get rank 80, maybe 3 weeks pvp..
On a side note; if you joined with + 4 guildies (= 5), how did you get that thief then? :p
So many ppl falling for the bait, lovely!
As one of the many admins helping in the PvP Community-driven Tournaments, I’m here to explain a problem and share a suggestion. This concerns Custom Arenas
Description:
As wel all know, a Custom Arena can be bought and maintained by one person.
That certain person can choose name, password, settings, maps, bans etc in that Custom Arena.
In this case, we as PvP Admins from ESL, AG and AspektGG, all have an Arena which we use to run the weekly/monthly Tournaments.
Problem:
However, besides the nice feature having a Custom Arena, there are some problems involved.
- No Co-Admin/Officer for Arenas: As we know only 1 person can be the rightfull owner AND admin of the Arena at the same time. This does not effect most guilds or players with Custom Arenas. This does have a huge impact on PvP Tournament Staff. Tournament Staff (ESL, AG and AspektGG) are mostly small and do not have Custom Arena Owners on stock. If one or more Admins are absent, most of the times we need to look for another person outside the staff to use his arena while he controls the matches aswel (for example: to reset a match due DC). Which is ofcourse, something we would rather avoid. Let us be able to pick 1 or more ppl to admin the arena while we, as owners, are not around. They can do anything but changing name and password. This will make Tournament Staff live’s much easier and less stressfull.
- I have a small..: With the max amount of people able to be in the server being 20, I feel it is getting too small after 2 years since the game and its community gotten bigger. Although there’s no real need to increase the max numbers, some guilds and events actually suffer from the cap. If we were able to make our Arena bigger, guild events would go smoother, WvW guilds can actually practice decent GvG (15v15) and new events might eventually turn up. A 10v10 is already available but no1 is able to spectate such a thing either way. Make it a bit bigger! I’m up for paying gems for that! 400 gems per 5 slots (permanently) untill a max of 30-35.
- Classes visible: As we know since a recent patch, you cannot see the class symbols no more in spectators. This causes some confusion when starting up an event (like training) and wasting our time by asking everyone what class they’re playing. I would like to see this back implented in Spectators.
- Logs: We cannot know when anyone enters the arena while the owner is not around. We also do not hear a sound when someone entered your arena either (which might be problematic for PvP Tournament as it might take time untill we notice someone is spectating (previous team/player). A sound and/or notice on screen (yellow server message) when someone enters the Arena. Also a history log showing who joined the server while you were absent (accountnames) and timelogs.

Elementalist would be perfectly fine if they removed Celestial amulet.
^exactly this if u ask me.
Cele necro is also too bunker’ish if you ask me, takes forever to take one down while able to pressure alot. That’s called being a balanced fighter. Notice how, unlike Cele Ele, Necro also can’t burst you down like crazy either. That’s how it should be. (unless you’re high on condition damage and little removal, they can make you burst yourself down lol.) nothing wrong with a Balanced fighter, so long as it’s just that. A jack of all trades and not able to still literally melt people. Celestial is the only way many builds can even work due to lack of stat customization…
I don’t really feel its balanced if you can survive 2v1 for over a minute while pressuring them, eventually making one of them disengage to reset few seconds..

Elementalists have burning as their single condition.
This is untrue. D/D ele has access to Chill, Immob, Burning, Bleeding, Weakness, and Cripple on weapon skills, Blinds on Evasive Arcana, and potentially poison if running doom sigils.
Besides bleeding none of these conditions do any damage, so burning is the only damaging conditions eles and guards have. Eles have 1 bleed skill and no trait support.
Eles have 3 bleed skills.. All in Earth.

Yes but one is the earth auto which nobody uses and another is churning earth which again nobody uses. The remaining bleed skill does a hefty 1 stack of bleeding.
Nobody? What if I say I do?
What if Im so smart I get stealth from thief, load up my earth 5 and open with lighting flash mid-cast to target and hit a lucky 4-5k with 8 stacks bleed? Not to mention I still need to start in fire hue.You can see the earth 5 red circle and animation even if the ele is stealthed…
And here I thought I could start up earth 5 behind a wall and lightning flash to the target! Oh my!
That skill is still near irrelevant to use even if it lands, stoo making such a useless skill sound so useful. Landing a full drakes breath on a target is more effective than landing a churning earth…
Where did I say Churning Earth is better than Drakes Breath lel..
Scroll up and follow the convo. It started with a player saying “Ele only got 1 condition; burn”, while eles have bleeds in earth aswel. That was my only point.
Dont get a quote out of its context.
Nice trollbait post, 8/8 would buy again.
I think it is 2 separate issues:
- one is usuall EU lag (sad that it is a common thing)
- other one is a bug imo; since the balance patch i been noticing random long delay on skill execution like i would have slow on my character w/o any debuff on the status barfor me it came mostly when i used hidden thief steal and tried to execute backstab…. it took sometimes 2-3 sec for backstab animation to play through….
Not sure if its a bug but its really annoying tbh.
When trying to execute BP + HS, ppl have a 1s free window because of this delay before I can enter stealth, which is already quite easy to interupt without the delay..
I really hope they look into this
After a very disturbing weekend on EU, with very bad conenctions and Dc’s all over, I noticed some skills remain having a delay today.
This is mostly on Thief skills like Heartseeker and Shadow Shot.
When attacking with auto attack and immediatly press HS, it takes 1 second between the auto attack and HS to activate the skill. Meanwhile character is doing nothing.
I was disappointed about the terrible weekend already with all DC’s all over in EU.
Now its just staying bad for my main class.. It got me killed multiple times..
Oh and no, its not my connection, ping was avg: 45. And at those moments mostly between 30 – 40. All other skills work without delay.
What is causing this? I know I’m not the only person having this right now.

+1 for intensity cleansing on all removing skills and sigils.

Game shows 30 ms latency, still having 1-2 sec delay on all skills in matches. Why?
Got the same thing on thief, heartseeker noticably has a delay of 0.5 – 1s most of the time.
As most of you know, you can “/age” to know how old your current character is and how long you played it.
However, when someone asks how many hours u got on a class, while having multiple of them and/or have deleted in the past, its quite hard to figure it out.
I would suggest to put somewhere in Hero Panel the amount of hours played per class.
I like your idea but honestly, it will be the same ppl over and over again winning those trophies for their class.
It’s the same with ESL/Go4Series.
EU might have more teams but it will only be them which will get that far getting the trophy. No1 else will. Not even you unless you get a top tier pvp team to gain your scores with.
As of this morning I’ve decided to take a good long break from Guild Wars 2. I won’t be purchasing HoT and I won’t be returning until I hear better reviews about this game.
For anyone who supports the idea of “fixing a game so that it is balanced”, I suggest you do the same. Boycotting not only a single company but poor products from an industry as a whole is important. It shows that the consumer does indeed have a standard of quality before they will use a product or service.
Wish I could man but PvP Community literally too small to make a difference.
All they need is their weekly ESL players on Stream and all is fine :<
That would be good if Low Rank stays out of Ranked Arena tbh.
Both sides will profit from it.
Besides, it doesnt take long to get rank 80 anyway.
On Guardian, Judge’s Intervention and Virtue of Justice are the only burns with a telegraph.
Err.. I was actually being sarcastic, they dont have a telegraph..
Cant login either.
Region; EU
Playing: EU
Gametype: PvP
Description: random dc’s, lags across the matches. Happens to many of my guildies aswel starting yesterday.
Burn guards apply more burning than any build can cleanse.. Stop protecting the broken to faceroll you’re way out.
This is verging on L2P territory, sorry. The majority of a guard’s burn application is telegraphed so you can just dodge it or mitigate it through other means. The torch is really, really easy to dodge, as is the ring.
Right, Judges Intervention and Virtue procs are telegraphed.. Blocks burn aswel (trait). Not to mention the huge burst from Smite on Healing when you’re burning. (if using Carrion). I play Guardian myself, tyvm. Do you?
(edited by Terrorsquad.4802)
Burning is fine.
You know those big red circles? Don’t stand in them
Because every skill/trait applying burning has red circles now?
Ok.
Nerf burning now.
Nerf passive rewarding play.
This is getting beyond ridiculous.

Helseth is like the Batman of gw2 esprotz. Made himself look like a giant kitten at the cost of making the competition and ‘e-drama’ a bit more engaging.
Pretty sure everyone knows that it’s just a persona he likes to put on, no one really takes him seriously. Everyone excpected him to act like this regardless of how things turn out.
^
I miss Cheese Mode’s (the EU team) Spirit Ranger days in early ESL’s.
Cons:
- Introducing Clips: As said above in Pros, I loved the personal touch of the team Captains introducements. Although, I was quite disappointed by the fact the Chinese Captain “Nocturne” didn’t had a voice in his clip. I know (from the interview done at gamescom day before) his English is not good enough. Imo he shouldve spoken Chinese and just added subtitles with it. I missed the personal touch from the [GLFH] captain clip. Remember; Languages shouldnt make boundaries!
- Casters: Aside from doing an overal goodjob, they did miss some important kills/decaps which were game changing. Example: Situation A happened, Situation B however is game changing and right after A. Casters sometimes were still talking about Situation A while B was already done and changed the match slightly.
- Advertisements: As said above; double edged sword. The ads theirselves were good except for the Alienware and GTX960. Alienware ad was the exact same as previous WTS one. The GTX 960 ad felt ‘odd’ since ArenaNet actually handed out GTX 980’s. But that’s just my opinion..
- Prizes: In my opinion the prizing should be slightly higher for the effort put into getting this far. I know they’re just playing a game, but top-tier nevertheless. As said above in Pros, I dont know if any other teammember got GTX980’s aswel, which, imo, should be done. Could be the team captain (Caith in this situation) could already have this and maybe give/sell to someone else. Which is sad since there might be players next to him with an ‘old’ GPU.
- Lan or..?: Afaik there can be DC’s in a LAN. But if I heard it right, a caster mentioned ‘internet’. Not sure if he was wrong or the Tournament is actually logged onto the internet. If they are, then that might cause (security) problems compared to 100% LAN without any internet. This might be far-fetched but a DDoS can always happen to that certain IP once its traced. (even if its illegal, as we know it doesnt stop certain ppl from doing it). Could be its not possible with GW2 client to run without internet and/or routers had issues.
- Time: I felt the time was actually a huge problem for USA. For them, it was between midnight and morning. I wouldve taken afternoon, so both EU and NA could enjoy the Tournament Stream. I think highest number of views was 7,500. Which is not bad for Guild Wars 2, but couldve had much more in the afternoon. Even China wouldve been able to watch still (considering it was a Saturday anyway).
- Cameraman.. Awkward: Between the matches the cameramen were closing up to a players face. Np, right? Though, it felt really awkward to keep watching the cameraman slowly zooming in and recording the face of the player. Now I cant read minds but it surely had to feel awkward to have a camera pushed in your face for a solid 15-20s without moving for the player. I certainly felt awkward for me to watch it. This happened to Levin and Toker mostly.
All in all I really enjoyed watching WTS this time, felt much smoother compared to the two previous WTS for sure. Despite the DC’s, the breaks were absolutely much shorter and transitions much nicer & fluently done (between Ad – Host – Casters – Analysts)
By all means I know this feedback might not go along with your opinion, and I truly respect another view on the matter. I also dont expect ArenaNet to take this personally or find this important.

Big props to [RIP] The Abjured for taking the victory back for their region!
Big props to Magic Toker (Dustin) for keeping cool, rotating perfect and the sneaky decaps! You sneaky Thief you! Flex for me!
Expect me one of the coming years to represent EU! :p

Pros:
- Introducing Clips: Those were amazing and fun to watch to gain an overall view about the Team Captains and get a ‘personal connection’ to them.
- Stage: The stage was nicely done and put together with nice colors, complimenting the logo and lights effect
- Host: The host, who’s probably new to Guild Wars 2 actually did a good job at hosting the Tournament. Ofcourse, it was done by a professional but I felt to share this nevertheless. He was fluent and had the crowd started.
- Casters: The casters did a great job overall. Great job Daniel & James!
- Analysts: Quite surprised about Chro Nick being so active as an analyst overall and the way he could overlay points towards his partners. Also his English pronunciation was off the charts for someone who doesn’t speak English as main language! Props Chro Nick! Wish I could speak English as fluent as you!
- Advertisements: Now this is a double-edged sword which I will have to split in Pro but also in a Con. It was shorter compared to Boston and China’s ads, which was followed by a solid transition back into another match. Total ad time was like 5-8mins max
- Introducing teams and its members: Before the matches were going to start, teams got introduced with a picture with names to its respective owner. This again gave a personal touch, so people know who they’re watching
- Keyboards and mice: I did notice most players were playing with a different mouse and/or keyboard compared to its partner. I don’t know if they are the player’s personal equipemnt brought from home or ArenaNet/Gamescon actually was able to deliver what the player wanted. Me personally I would love to continue seeing this in the future LAN’s. I remember seeing every player had to use the standard SteelSeries equipment in previous LAN’s. This is something that scared me away of even trying to join a LAN since I cannot play without a Naga/G600 (12 sidebuttons) by my side due my left hand being less responsive. Quite sure there are more like this amongst us!
- Prizes: This is again a double-edged sword split into a pro and con. I felt the prizing was solid, certainly for our “Flex-Machine” Toker who got the MVP prize (Alienware PC if Im not mistaken). The Team Captain got his hands on a brand new GTX980 (4GB DDR5 If Im not mistaken) which is a very solid GPU. Now I’m not sure if all team members got something asside the prize money, there were more GTX 980’s lying on the floor, next to the Host.
- Announcement: It was a great PvP announcement for Veterans amongst us to hear leagues are finally going to be a thing. I remember making a big Word Doc for ESL 1-2 years ago (while I was an ESL Admin), suggesting leagues and how they should work. So to hear we’re getting Leagues inside Guild Wars 2 PvP is one of the best things that could’ve been announced! This was quickly followed up by Curse Entertainment with a bit more in-depth about the announcement on their Youtube channel. I’ll link the specific video below after my feedback! It also makes we wonder why Curse would announce this.. I’m hoping for an Ingame Curse VoIP personally. (despite many ppl are against this, which can be discussed in another thread)
- Pause scene: The pauses were quite short and had nice background music if you ask me. Made me even wonder if that music is HoT specific music? If so, wow!
Build:
- S/S Shiro – Hammer Dwarf
- Marauder
- Rune of Hoelbrak/Pack
- Traitlines: Devastation, Retribution & Invocation
- Solid, high DPS on non-moving target
- Test took 4 hours dueling and playing (un)ranked, but no Stronghold. Although my feedback will mostly likely stay the same after playing Stronghold with DPS Revenant.
Feedback based on current “meta”:
- lacks sustain
- lacks defensive abilities next to 1 block (like all other DPS classes/builds have: Aegis, blocks, invulns, blinds, …)
- lacks mobility to be a good DPS roamer (outside fights)
- lacks reliable stunbreaks (unless u take Legend Swap Stun Break Trait)
- casttime on Healings are too long for a (melee) DPS
- Dwarf Legend Utility Taunt doesnt always hit (bugged)
- overal casttimes are too long for a DPS
- countered by all DPS builds (in Conquest and both 1v1)
- stuck in same utilities (no chance to take more Stunbreakers)
- energy start (50%) too low to actually engage full on as DPS
Overal:
- Nice concept and decent design
- The ‘ideal’ DPS Revenant is close but needs some rework to be ever viable in PvP as DPS. Having Shiro as one of the legends, it simply needs to be viable in PvP
- Feels like Ranger; fun for 1v1 but horrible team-utilities and sustain for Conquest. Although even in 1v1, the Revenant has a really low chance to win unless opponents makes tons of mistakes and you bring your A-game.
Revenant Shiro was basically the only reason I pre-purchased HoT for the beta and I’m, sadly, a bit disappointed. However, I do hope with the incoming feedback, you’ll be able to make something out of it
Cheers and sincerely,

Helseth creating artificial conflict was very clever because it evoked a reaction/response from people. Ultimately, it made the event something people looked forward to. He has a strong personality, that’s a good thing.
Yup exactly my thought!
I really like Helseth just because he brings ‘action’ between people and teams.
If you hear him talk serious about PvP, you notice he’s not a bad guy at all and wants the best for PvP.
Some ppl just dont get his trolling sometimes :p
why you did not said anything for the past WTS ?
Erm.. We’re actually complaining about Ele since prev meta, which means over half a year already.. So yes, we did ask for nerfs even before the previous WTS.
To everyone saying abjured didn’t win cuz double ele but cuz they outrotated etc.
The fact that they had double ele helps A LOT to outrotate the enemy team. When a class is so mobile, while being impossible to fight 1v1 and can sustain a 1v2 on point for a while and still disengage after that, and when you have 2 of that, of course you’re gonna outrotate the opponent.
Dude, oRNG left their points unwatched all the time. They zerg around fighting +1 +2.
The rule is if you +1 for more than 15s and still can’t kill, gotta leave and check the points. That’s basic rotation for any semi-competitive team. They got lost in the zerg fights.
Ok so who do you suggest watch the point ?
Tage has to be in teamfights to be effective.
Rom is a zerker warrior, he can’t and shouldn’t watch a point.
Frae is a dps guard, while it can be okayish to hold the point, he has no way to disengage a fight if he gets ganked, and dying leads to a lot of kitten.
Sindrener is a thief, in no way a point holder.
That leaves only denshee (the ele, what a surprise), but since he can’t be everywhere and there is 3 points, this leads to leaving some points unattended.
Checking points doesnt mean holding points..
It means literally ‘checking’. Just let the thief or the ele go to the other points while watching minimap and counting the enemies while giving enemies’ location.
Mostly its thief/ele/ranger/mesmer (portal)/engi/warrior who can check points.
Atleast builds that got access to mobility.
The Abjured was really strong and Toker really proved to be MVP in every single match.
My personal favorite was TCG somewhere but lots of respect to NA for winning this one!
Now, can we fix d/d eles? :p
Will a “fix” to ele allow you to beat @Phantaram or any top ele in 1vs1?
The game isnt balanced around 1v1, neither is my comment
hmmm we might see curse voice integration then
That would be godly.. If that’s true, I can cry of joy
I think its also necessary with the leagues..i cant see any other reason for them to be involved with curse
They didnt mention it in their Curse Announcement though.
However, they did announce couple of other things!
The Abjured was really strong and Toker really proved to be MVP in every single match.

And who’s Curse? xD
That’s a joke right?
Well, in case you were not sarcastic; Curse. is an important company when it comes to sponsorships, time and dedication for games. They used to sponsor a team within GW2 but it got disbanded a long time ago – and most assumed the competitive scene got destroyed by that.
Well I thought Curse was a certain person, never know they meant the company..
And yes, I remember Team Curse, VoTF, CC…
Never knew they meant that “Curse”
Might be a good idea to tell if you’re:
- NA/EU
- Casual/Average/Serious
I like the badge of your division next to your name, thats awesome!
I do wonder if ppl can also see your badge out of HoTM?
Any dev can respond? Why not? It’ll be like the map completion star.
Anyway, more info will be released later today by Curse.
Didnt they say blog will be Monday? :o
And who’s Curse? xD
I like the badge of your division next to your name, thats awesome!

Now I see, u didnt undertood what I meant:
- I said irony earlier because Helseth is subject A, he’s saying C must be 3 so therefore C is 3.
What? Helseth isn’t participating in an argument here; you still don’t get it.
I never said ppl should listen to me instead of helseth.
No, but you clearly cited yourself as an authority in an attempt to make your argument sound more convincing when instead it had the opposite effect:
I’ve been in PvP before TCG even excisted, please.
You argued your opinion as factual, and instructed me to find your citation for you instead of citing your own sources; that’s not how a convincing argument works.
What’s more, you went on to imply that everyone is equal which is historically and statistically false: A single team or a single individual generally wins every major competition. This far more furthers the plausibility of the notion that some people are simply better than others rather than the notion that equal effort provides equal results. In the first place, how can you even determine that one individual or group’s effort over another’s? That’s simply subjective conjecture and altogether inconclusive.
The fact remains that your argument consisted, of blanket statements, conjecture, and fallacies which is altogether attribute it as unconvincing (let alone single-handedly in each’s own right). If your argument was convincing, even if it wasn’t true, at least people would believe you. Why do you think I’m taking the other guy’s side in this? Because he actually made a convincing argument.
What I did meant was that ppl need to think on their own and pick everything with a grain of salt, even what top players say.
Top players sometimes say stuff that aint right (for the pvp community in general)
Example: Top Engineers were saying Engi’s were fine and balanced and didnt need any nerfs (5G on stream).
While you may have meant to caution people to consider the words of top players and that they sometimes say incorrect things, this is what you actually stated:
Top players say alot of things about their class and are obvious (mostly) biased.
That’s a fallacy of defective induction (read: faulty generalization) where you qualified a majority group based on its minority individuals. Again, I’m not a mind-reader, so I can only take you at your word and not anything you mean instead of what you actually say.
- Second thing u missunderstood was that I did NOT say you misinterpret anything, but I did because of my flaw in English. Thats why I brought it up.
There you go misunderstanding again. You didn’t say I misinterpreted anything? Well, I didn’t say you did. That’s another problem you keep having: You keep inferring from my words meaning you think is behind them instead of just taking them for what I am actually saying here. I was clarifying something, not asking you to read my mind and address something something else I meant but didn’t actually say.
Inferences and implications have no place in argumentation.
Anyway, sorry this response is late; I was participating in the beta.
This is full of missunderstandings, not going to bother anymore to explain myself over and over ._.
Also reading your “expensive” sentences are exhausting me too much, I never saw anyone talking like you except for university professors..
I even understand native English/Americans far more easier.. This is like overkill English the way you’re talking (no offensive!!)
Cele D/D Ele burning.. Think they’re waiting till after WTS.
Can confirm; cutscene volume is too low.
